441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: USDT or BNB? on: December 17, 2021, 11:34:48 PM
For most trading pairs probably USDT, just because they've got so much more liquidity and available trading pairs.

But for some tokens that are only traded on BSC DEXs, perhaps you will find better prices using the BNB token.

Honestly depends on the situation though and you will have to evaluate your specific circumstances.
442  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Making money while gaming on: December 17, 2021, 09:20:32 PM
This is honestly nothing new.

Play to earn has beeen around ever since oldschool games like Runescape or even CSGO where you can get drops etc. from just playing.

It's just that they are now integrating this with NFTs, which I don't necessarily think will serve much purpose in this field tbh.
443  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Fixed Supply Tokens Can't Become True Currencies on: December 17, 2021, 11:18:17 AM
This is simply not true.

Bitcoin is a good counterexample of this, the rate at which new coins are minted versus the amount of old coins lost is really going to become equal in the next few years if not right now.

And yet, the institutional adoption as well as the commercial usage of BTC is only increasing. Nobody says that deflationary currencies cannot work as a medium of exchange.
444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is better to invest your funds in if the alt season starts? on: December 17, 2021, 11:06:30 AM
Let's imagine for a second that the alt season began in early 2022. What to do and in which market segment to invest your funds? NFT P2E or DeFi, or is it better to invest in tokens of promising blockchains like NEAR AVAX MATIC DOT ATOM?

Honestly, DeFi.

I think that the whole NFT boom, especially the ones that are exclusively "art" (i.e., pictures of animals) are a bit overblown and could probably plunge during the bear market.

DeFi on the other hand has great potential to actually challenge a lot of the traditional finance concepts that we are so familiar, and are worth billions of dollars in revenue. It's a no brainer for me.
445  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Looking To Invest $50-$100 In New Projects Any Ideas? on: December 17, 2021, 10:22:23 AM
I wouldn't right now.

We are at the end of a historic bull run and I think that there are a lot of overvalued coins that are currently being peddled for way more than fair market price. And ICOs and new NFT offerings are spreading like wildfire for the same reasons.

Perhaps invest in a few metaverse tokens that you think have potential (e.g. Sandbox, Decentraland etc.) but I wouldn't concentrate my positions too much honestly. The rewards are simply not worth it for the risk you are taking on.
446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is the balance problem of cryptocurrencies? on: December 17, 2021, 06:47:28 AM

What is the reason for the fluctuation in cryptocurrencies in this period? Are cryptos losing interest, as some commentators have said?

Or are these declines an intervention by whales for market picking?

Hell no to the cryptos losing interest narrative.

Cryptos are doing just fine and people are still very interested in investing in it.

It's just that people understand and recognise that the current marketplace is slightly overhyped and may be due for a correction, which is leading to this selloff. It's not even a huge dump given the circumstances.
447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best decentralized stablecoin? on: December 16, 2021, 11:25:42 PM
I probably would go with DAI.

It is pretty much the only viable decentralized stablecoin that has sufficient liquidity and volume for it to be worthwhile to hold.

There also used to be bitUSD under Bitshares but it's honestly dead now, and nobody uses it.
448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The future of NFTs on: December 16, 2021, 10:36:48 PM
I don’t know about you, but it looks like we’re in the ICO stage (2017) stage of NFTs. Quick cash grabs, high floor prices, etc.

Beyond art, I see so many other applications for NFTs. Example: Michael Jordan creating a fan engagement platform with NFTs, companies like 4K turning physical goods into NFTs to leverage, music platforms that sell NFTs to redeem for experiences, etc.

What other applications do you guys see for NFTs?

Exactly what you are saying.

There are a lot of projects out there that is just purely making money off hype right now, and those are the ones that are first to go honestly.

Be aware of quick cash grabs. They can turn out to be ridiculously high priced JPEGs.
449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Race to $1000, which one would hit first? SOL or BNB? on: December 16, 2021, 09:57:49 PM
This is a pretty obviously answer in my opinion.

BNB is already at more than half of that threshold so it is clear that BNB has a much higher chance to hit that goal. Even though SOL may experience exponential growth, I simply don't think that it is going to 10x in the next 4 years per se.

There is a lot of hype in the SOL ecosystem already and that reflects in the valuation.
450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should you sell ethereum and btc to buy Solana/SOL? on: December 16, 2021, 06:37:32 AM
I think that would honestly be pretty stupid.

SOL is still largely unproven technology so you are going to likely see a lot of bugs in the early stages, and there is no guarantee that they will ever emerge from this current buggy state.

You should definitely diversify your holdings, but all-in in SOL is not a great idea.
451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How to buy BNB at the right time? on: December 15, 2021, 08:26:19 PM
I think that BNB is one of the coins that you can't really go wrong with.

It's got both the centralized use case as well as the decentralized use case so there is no concern about the token losing all of its value.

So just dollar cost average. There is virtually no chance that you are going to time the market correctly for something as volatile as BNB, so don't even bother trying.
452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why LTC stuck on same price range? on: December 15, 2021, 04:25:02 AM
Actually LTC already has strong capital to grow even better, unfortunately there are only a few active developers and no significant updates like ETH, BNB or other new coins that adopt NFT, maybe this is the end of the old coins that can't adapt with changes.

Exactly.

I think that LTC is something of a fad a few years back when there were no alts, but now there are so many that it is simply not useful anymore.

Sure, you could argue that it has lower transaction fees than ETH but that is going to get fixed with the release of ETH2.0 so it's not even a huge concern.
453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My crypto lessons in 2021 on: December 15, 2021, 04:05:41 AM
Seems like that you have learned some valuable lessons.

I don't think that even though your P&L may suggest otherwise that you actually lost anything. In fact, you may have actually gained value in the process because of your maturation as an investor.

It is imperative that you stay the course as an investor and not get sucked into the hype. And there will always be hype.
454  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The altcoin market has become scammer's playground on: December 15, 2021, 12:24:13 AM
Is this something new?

This had been a scammers playground since this market had established or running on.From ICO to other trends that do happen in the market. There would be always those
scammers who had been lurking around and waited up for those newbie investors who do keep on feeding them.

If you dont really do your research on things then you would really be finding out a big problem since you would lost money most of the time.
Make yourself prepared and be aware on your actions. Anything could be searched up and verify everything before shelling out some money.

Exactly.

There are plenty of gems and plenty of crappy projects in the altcoin market and it is impossible to generalize it into one category.

I think that you'd be stupid to be completely be invested in alts but also stupid to not invest in it at all because you think that all alts are useless and worthless. There are blue chip projects out there that are indeed useful, and have long term viability, the best example of which is probably ETH.
455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $2 million worth of SHIBA INU bought on: December 14, 2021, 11:54:07 PM
Musk's announcement and this.

I honestly don't know what the deal is with SHIB anymore - it does not have the community appeal of DOGE and it has no use cases and a huge premine given to Vitalik that he can dump at any time.

You'd have to be a special kind of stupid to speculate on this stuff. Avoid at all costs.
456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you buying in this market downturn? on: December 14, 2021, 11:42:01 PM
Hi, the market has dropped dramatically recently, and we have the opportunity to buy cool projects at a good price, for example, it was possible to buy Solana, NEAR, Avalanche, Cordana much cheaper than they were a week ago.  have you bought something, and if so, what have you bought?

Why not ETH?

I think that it still has a lot more potential compared to Solana which has demonstrated some really startling issues on its pilot phase.

But yeah, pretty much everything is a bargain right now in the cryptospace, even for the large caps. Definitely seize this opportunity if you can.
457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What happened to the crypto market now? on: December 14, 2021, 11:18:29 PM
Crypto continues dropping these few weeks which is more than a manipulation or a correction. It seems that crypto continues to crash and no chance for pump up in these few days. Is the bearish market starting? Or that’s the end of crypto?
Could anyone answer me?

How did you even come to the conclusion that there is any manipulation?

People throw around this word way too much without any proof. No, a short term adjustment does not have to be the result of central manipulation, and given the distributed nature of a lot of cryptos, this is simply not possible anyway.

It's a normal selloff due to the overbought nature of certain coins, that is all. Nothing else.
458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Staking usdt off exchanges on: December 14, 2021, 08:32:41 PM
My advice is try Celsius or CDC.
They're one of the most reliable services out there, with around 10% APY on stablecoin staking.
If you need an invite code that'll bring you even more benefits, drop me a pm

Celsius is not "staking".

It's simply earning interest on your coins just as any other regular TradFi platform does.

Also, Celsius is pretty similar to a centralized exchange in the sense that your coins and private keys are all controlled by one central entity - which doesn't seem to be what OP wants at all.
459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel about the looming Metaverse boom? on: December 14, 2021, 09:44:57 AM
I do fear a situation where either:
a) There is a severe lack of good quality metaverse tokens/projects and the space will become mostly dominated by meme projects or

b) The space is completely centralized with FB and other major tech giants taking the reigns.

That would unwind a lot of the good work that has been done in previous years to build up this blockchain community.
460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IPO OpenSea on: December 14, 2021, 09:30:47 AM
Who the heck would buy into it?

Opensea seems like one of the great innovators but their product can be replaced in a heartbeat by other competitors such as Binance NFT. There is simply way too much competition and the margins will just get lower and lower.

Plus, this would go against the totality of their agenda of decentralization and democratization. It's crazy to me.
