441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [DRK/XDN/XMR/SDC] Comparison between the most known anonymous coins (MUST READ) on: March 23, 2015, 07:02:54 PM

I'd say the all time chart speaks for itself. No pump Crew, Fairly stable price, No instamine/premine/ico or any such nonsense to worry about. Over 6 months of a fairly steady price has done pretty well for distribution.

Well, I've nothing to add...

The only other time I've seen something this steady was in the early, early days of Litecoin when we were all waiting and waiting and waiting for LTC to hit $0.10 LOL.

Give 2/3days everyone to test new technology and then we will start our jurney;)

100% Agree Wink

Agree too. I've been saying for a while, the anon tech could even be priced in. It's 10x higher than the 300 satoshi valley it was in for a long time. The price now is a resultant of anon being announced and developed. I'm happy with the 10x jump. Time will tell, and until other players are running nodes I think everyone should be happy with the centralized anon tech, the price and the team.

Most the chatter I see on this topic specifically is price, profit talk and BMW, Ferrari links. It's obvious most are in NAV for the quick buck versus the long term problems the team is trying to solve. 85% of talk going towards profits/cars/hookers & blow is going to make the community one sad lot.
443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] The Shadow Project | Anon POS | Ring Sigs | Decentralized MarketPlace (w) on: March 23, 2015, 05:46:01 PM
Community, i have a  suggestion. We have to present full SDC team at the OP. At least their names - Rynomster, Technovert, Ffmad, Crz, Dasource ... etc. We have the big and very talented core team. Adding specific of kind of works , photos or avatars to this will be great too. Some people suppose that only Ryno is working here, but i heard that this project have about 6-10 working developers
P.S. "People must to know their heroes"

Not a bad idea.

In crypto world everyone is suspicious about everything, and that's pretty logic considering the amazing amount of scams. Exposing the core team would be a great way to attract people !
Kind of defeats the basic idea behind the crypto though no?

Agree with both of you but lean more to @erok's side. I think it's good to put names and faces, but it's not necessary. It builds trust but so does results. It's really a lazy man's way to do due-diligence versus actually reading whitepapers and engaging the dev team in dialog/questions via IRC/etc..

Proper due diligence will give anyone new a reactionary feeling of either supporting Shadow or staying away from Shadow. Exposing the dev crew (if they want exposed) isn't going to sway someone one way or another unless they're lazy, don't see real names and say, "Nah, I'll pass".

I couldn't tell you one person deeply involved in developing Twitter, Amazon, Reddit... but I see results and I decided to use it and trust the creators.

Blockmarket

OpenBazaar

One Market

ShadowMarket

These decentralized markets would change the free market, and I'm happy to see that Blockmarket is at a very advanced stage compared to others.

Agreed. The time is NOW for these to bloom.

Cool (future) blockchain explorer. Looks like coin and asset explorers will be integrated.

I'm not sure if anyone else started the day out of sync but I did and seemed to be on my own blockchain.
I did a
Code:
rewindchain 389000
to get back on track, curious to see what my "real" balance is.
IHTA the 10+ SDC of stake rewards was a nice "good morning".
447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] The Shadow Project | Anon POS | Ring Sigs | Decentralized MarketPlace (w) on: March 21, 2015, 02:15:17 AM
I been messing around with Shadow>Shadow tx's… increasing number of outputs by using a more complex number as input, in this case x.xxxxxxxx
http://www.shadowchain.info/tx/1a75e35de9711907139121b7fd0eded1a70ed7a48305253725a2c5811a1a4de4
(27 outputs)
hehe

Beautiful.

By increasing my number by one char (so 99.99999999 Shadow>Shadow) I was able to get a 30 output tx using Ring Size 16 (tx fee 0.04)
http://shadowchain.info/tx/5e217e76f4260585a7d213d53799b24c48bacdfaaacc0b0deb700d3d75233b1c
outputs 30

(I disclose the amount sent since u cannot c it in the explorer)

I then did another Shadow>Shadow 99.99999999 with Ring Size 64 (tx fee 0.22)
http://shadowchain.info/tx/dd8ec858a9d7a606f20196788aa81c8de14410cbff28dd20b4c715361ef1881d
outputs 29

I found it interesting the the number of outputs were different for the same amount.
But I was even more struck by how the tx using 64 has more Inputs with a dramatic difference in ScriptSig length.

It looks impressive altho I dont know what it all means.
Just playing around to see what I can produce.

UPDATE 1: did another Shadow>Shadow 99.99999999 with Ring Size 16
http://shadowchain.info/tx/df7b094d407843f4a6397db47cbe05dfb605c90784892a7fa6666762ef7e43a8
outputs again 30, but output values and ScriptSig size different than the first tx. YAY!

UPDATE 2: did another Shadow>Shadow 99.99999999 with Ring Size 64
http://shadowchain.info/tx/168dcc9e15e17a500c0a1c24374fd085a68cfdd2e076728f1490e74da08b9d26
tx fee was different o.21 not 0.22 as before.
also number of outputs (now 27 not 29) and their amounts were different!

OBSERVATION:
So i guess sending the same amount of Shadow with same Ring Size produces different results every time.
Which is awesome.

Could you make a table showing each transaction, each ring size and transaction size (kb). I'm curious the bloat each does.

448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] The Shadow Project | Anon POS | Ring Sigs | Decentralized MarketPlace (w) on: March 20, 2015, 11:07:20 PM
What do you guys think of an IN WALLET EXCHANGE? I know something like this is possible as XAI will be implementing one soon. This would also help with making the entire process of converting BTC to SDC more anon.

This plus the ability to share Torrent files and get paid through the ShadowMarket will make us the Coin killer

Someone (I wish I could code) could fork Counterparty to the Shadow platform and we could have a ShadowParty!  Shocked

Through ShadowParty we create a 3rd blockchain token called SDX. And we could trade SDX<>SDC<>SDT all the live, long day.

Then the NSA would be like:

So we'd have that going for us.

Sorry, but with current state of Boolberry (not even in top 100 marketcap - no development since months) and the few differences with XMR or XDN, it doesn't seem to be useful to put Boolberry in the comparison

Unlinkable transaction upgrade to CryptoNote and blockchain bloat reduction are probably the two biggest upgrades to any CryptoNote currency so far. XMR has probably done a bunch of stuff too but I can't think of a specific thing off the top of my head that could be more important than those two upgrades. XMR devs plan to do their own versions of these upgrades down the line, but they have a lot on their plate so I wouldn't expect them anytime soon.

CryptoZoidberg is still around. He's done a lot of work and it's a bit silly that you would dismiss that and have the balls to put Ducknote above BBR in relevance.

I agree with Este Nuno. BBR should be on the list over XDN. Boolberry, while low in marketcap at the moment is part of the SuperNET collection of coins with big plans/uses in the future on that platform. Darknote was trading at 12 satoshis just 2 months ago before it had a 600% increase. It's more of a traders coin than a working currency practicing anonymity. Give them cred, they chose a good platform but it's been a joke most all it's life.

451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [DRK/XDN/XMR/SDC] Comparison between the most known anonymous coins (MUST READ) on: March 19, 2015, 08:01:10 PM
You should add "Bus/Truck Factor" to the spreadsheet on the OP.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bus_factor

Shadow = 1
Monero = 3
Darkcoin = 1
Darknote = 1

That's just factoring cryptographers/devs. I'd be interested to have a directory of each project's full dev team.

DASH TWITTER HASHTAG

Hey All,

I have played around with the hashtag #DASH, and there is far too much noise in that Twitter feed to use it effectively to get our news and info out properly.

As such, I have looked into hashtag usage, and I have concluded that the hashtag #DashDC is perfect due to our name DASH - Digital Cash, and due to the fact it has minimal noise (only 5 tweets since October).

I will be using this hashtag, and I propose that it be made the default.

Cheers,

Tao.

#DashDC

Great study! Very helpful.
Did you try #digitalcash straight up?

The only thing you gain by holding shadow is "a huge zero"

I am done with shadow and sold all my shadow (100k shadow) at weekend

Good luck to you guys

Up to know, shadow was loss of time to me

And very big disappointment, no big group supports shadow

And some dev guys here, beleives that just tech is enough at altcoin market

It is just bullshit, even themselves doesnt beleive it but they have nothing else to do

Yeah Skip, I agree with what ffmad said.  You got to have patience.  Our day will come.  I have noticed this project is starting to get a lot more respect and attention all throughout the community.  You admit the tech is good, so why did you dump so cheap?  The volatility is going to be significant in this tiny market.  A 20BTC buy pumps the price extraordinarily, and a 20 BTC market sell will dump the price significantly.  So when people buy high and sell low, you can guess what happens.  How are you going to feel if the price pumps huge one day?  Perhaps you bit off more than you can chew for your portfolio.  You could lighten your load if the volatility is too painful for you.  Maybe try to keep 10K instead 100K, and just sit on the sidelines to see what happens.

I see a lot of big things coming in the near future.  The marketplace has been having significant progress being made, and designs are supposed to be released to public in the coming days.  The Zeuner review is also supposed to be coming.  This is the most undervalued coin in this space and its only a matter of time before people catch on.  Shadow is a diamond in the rough, and a lot of people have not found the project yet because it is lost in a sea of shitcoins.  But awareness is spreading.  Our time will come.

I respect everybody's ideas, but i really dont have that much time to wait, years and years

At the beginning, I see shadow as an investment and planned to stay here for a very long term. And i could double my sdc, but there was not even a spark here for me to put more btc into shadow...things are going soo slow with shadow...audits etc...soon other coins with stronger groups and good tech will take shadows role. Altcoin market is moving fast, shadow has good tech but no awareness or strong groups.

Things are going very very slow here.

I am planning to invest in 2 other altcoins... Maybe if make good profit, i come back to shadow and forget some btc here for very long time

Good luck to all of us

Well at least your honest. You could check out Navajo. They have the "unbreakable code" and have pump groups. That sounds more like what you are looking for.

How you can conclude there is zero leverage when there is no legal precedent in this space is fascinating to me.

It's like when the domain name wars began.  There was no legal precedent as it was an emerging technology, but it sure ended up being created.

What I'd like to know is: how are the holders of a decentralized asset NOT the owners and in control who simply choose to allow the dev to do as they please as long as the community determine they're doing what is in the interest of the asset?  If the majority owners of a decentralized asset don't want their decentralized asset's trademark sold, can it be sold?  As far as I know, there is no legal precedent to answer this question.  Yet.

Ethically, not purchasing Dashcoin was a terrible decision.  What Darkcoin has done may very well be perfectly ok from a legal standpoint.  However, as there is zero legal precedent for decentralized assets, what I'm saying is the deep-pocketed company Darkcoin is picking a fight with may choose not to walk away from their trademark registration without a serious fight.  And that serious fight may result in legal precedent being set.  I'd be dumb not to buy a boatload of the very cheap underlying asset the fight is over just in case the legal precedent would be in my favor.

I hope you know how to code and stuff because it only takes a couple lines of code to render those gazillion coins null because the network is no longer there.

It seems to me you need devs a whole lot more than you think. Remember, this is their project/hobby/passion, not yours or ours. We may be crazy fanatical and loyal to a fault, but they are the ones that work for mostly free and created our fun from

Well, it's time for a brief report on my work on the project. I have finally become a member of the HYPlionaires club, and now I'm waiting for a certain goal to start some small targeted PPC campaigns. I'll create few landing pages for each target group (merchants, mining enthusiasts, investors) with a concise pitch depicting the technology and it's benefits. Everyone is welcomed to do the same, even simple targeted impressions are good.

I'm deeply in game development now, particularly for mobile platforms, and I feel like it will be a heavy use of HYP)

Awesome! Welcome to the club!

Just for the statistics:

Yeah,

litbit is on wrong chain! Change your client bro! Update from our website!

Procedure technically correct, but from what I can see, on my wallet, and on official explorer, the correct
block # 1027238 is 82cbdbbe21ffa7ffb0e570f5708fdd0cd1caadda0b3f8bd5dbba0a267f371159
url: http://www.navajocoin.org/abe/b/1288hZkbQA

the other is the forked one.

Sorry, but until re-integrate my routine can't do other research.

PS:
This morning, the sync was already finished, now I'm waiting for the first stake. But usually it takes me a lot.

Thank you very much, Litebit almost gave me a heart attack. This is good anyway.

Good to know! Sorry for the heart pulpatations!

I got the block hash right from the explorer because I don't have my client open. That's why afterwards I was saying that this is all assuming the explorer was actually on the right chain! The method works but the means has to be up-to-date I guess  Wink

How about the gold for sending coins the regular way
And the blue for sending anon.   ?

And I have a question, I got the new wallet yesterday
All my coins are there, last night I saw that I had 37 connections

So I can relax knowing that I did it right........,right?

Thank you

The best way to check you're on the correct chain is to go to your console window and type
Code:
getblockhash 1027238

That should get you this:
Code:
d271831cb134b9bfe254351d8d96bc151538c5036eda895b6e155fc09aef6a8b

Then double check that with the block explorer here:
http://www.navajocoin.org/abeb/12oo6Gi6su

Which should give you
Code:
Hash: d271831cb134b9bfe254351d8d96bc151538c5036eda895b6e155fc09aef6a8b

so that tells me i'm on the wrong one?

thats what my wallet said:

18:19:06

getblockhash 1027238

18:19:06

Have you updated? Get last wallet from website!

yes. pmed you, yesterday and now again...

by the way: great support. never have seen that in crypto till now...

You are welcome.

When the wallet is open in menu on about or help and there is a button about navajocoin. That should show version 2.06 !

Your welcome. My assumptions are based on http://www.navajocoin.org being up to date as well. It could well be that you are right and they are wrong. I don't have the wallet open to check mine. Good luck.
