madness ?

"Testnet coins are separate and distinct from actual bitcoins, and are never supposed to have any value. This allows application developers or bitcoin testers to experiment, without having to use real bitcoins or worrying about breaking the main bitcoin chain."

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Testnet

Store and transfer value with UNO.  Testnets (UNO or otherwise) can be messy - that's what they're for.

"never supposed to"

well UNO is bending the rules
but true to test nets ... it is messy

value is mostly intended for a rare few odd ducks that like collecting PR(o)
mostly with the intent of using said value to help dev cost ... ie ... pay the dev with his own damn coin
+cost of nodes, blockchain, yadda yadda ... since this beast has already been launched and Skidoo23 Inc. absentee well we are just trying to keep the thing afloat ... UNO-test-net is primary, but having a monetized test-net is part of keeping UNO in a constant state of development via incentive vehicle for a dev(s)

otherwise this is a silly investment for the average Joe, but you never know later down the road we might roll PR(oto) off the test net (like after ERA 9 once all the coins are mostly mined) and turn it into NOT-the-testnet but a stand alone product

also what oracles are making the calls?

"end to hostilites between Saudi Arabia backed pro government forces, and the Houthi rebels"

who determines the truth value?
4406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: help ENDWAR on: February 04, 2016, 04:36:36 AM
if I get this right

steps
1.  give asset to the war makers
2.  raise the price proposition until they ENDWAR

perhaps they might game the system too Wink
make a WAR seem unendable, asset goes rock bottom, "That's a sure bet that war will never come to peace!"

War-makers buy it up, kiss and make peace.

Q&A

Do you mean you can send Pr coins to a Un client? and vice versa?

Yes, that's correct. Pr and Un/testnet are completely cross compatible.

You can't send Pr to an Un mainnet addy--they don't use the same leading bit in the address (u vs U) but from the Un testnet to the Pr mainnet and back again works perfectly!

UPDATE
03-May-2016
Prototanium v0.10.1.2-pdrobek (32-bit)
I received the new PR Windows wallet the other day from a dev I met recently. He agreed to work on it for the bounty that myself and Edgar offered earlier.

I had good luck with it and I a couple other people I sent it to say it works.
https://polcoin.pl/download/prototanium_setup.exe

If you want to help test it, I'd appreciate the feedback.
I suggest installing on a Windows VM at first, just as a normal precaution and best practice in the crypto curency world.

It passes virustotal scan, for whatever that's worth.

Prototanium is sha256 merge mine tech (it is mined by the bitcoin network).
Prototanium is 100% compatible with the Unobtanium testnet chain.  (about UNO https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1416352 http://unobtanium.uno)
Prototanium  is based entirely on the 0.10.x branch of Unobtanium but supports synching and using the testnet chain of Unobtanium instead of its own blockchain! Therefore; Prototanium is an exact copy of Unobtanium in terms of mining rewards and technology.  And it also shares the Unobtanium testnet blockchain.  In the future Prototanium will likely fork off of the Unobtanium testnet blockchain and focus on BlockTech venture capital related projects.  Currently Prototanium is a Nerd toy maintained and developed by the Unobtanium community.

Is Bitcoin being corrupted right now?

In some ways, yes. The Bitcoin Foundation is trying to establish itself as a central point of Bitcoin through which it can fund and steer development, while at the same time working together with the state and Wall Street. What's going to happen, is that governments will use the Foundation to pressure Bitcoin development in certain directions.Chief scientist and former lead-developer Gavin Andresen is paid by the Bitcoin Foundation, while his friends are the big Bitcoin-corporations. So, naturally, he's more favourable towards their outlook of Bitcoin. And if you look at his actions and decisions...He talks about Bitcoin as a payments-innovation, he developed the payments protocol, and now he's pushing to increase the blocksize limit which would raise the maximum number of transactions on the network at the cost of even further centralization of mining. That is in effect in direct opposition to the idea of Bitcoin as a decentralized, private and uncensored system.

Does anyone know what the hell is happening?

a) normal_BTC  ... you know no fork!

b) "classicTM"_BTC : classic as in hard forking 'just 2MB' but now with a name that sounds like you're not forking a $7 billion dolliar's decentralized chain

c) CORE ... something about side chains, lightening GMAX stuff ... tradehouse cartel product ... diamond market is controlled by very similar structuring ... https://i.imgur.com/FCqIBSM.gif

d) TX ... Huh ... to lazy to research into that dead turkey ... something giga blocks and normal blocks

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3ilbit/mike_hearn_responds_to_xt_critics/cuiwqv6 nullc

e) ETH ... looks like long term capital saw the 'fork' in the road and dev'd a product that is forkable anytime 51% of the capital decides to add or remove features ... the life boat is already inflated Wink

f) UnLimited ... as in unlimited hardforking?

----
But because some transactions that would have been invalid under the old rules would become suddenly valid after, a hard fork requires almost unanimous consensus from every single Bitcoin holder. If consensus is not clearly achieved, miners who lag in adopting to the hard fork may reject certain transactions that would have violated the old rules, while miners who have upgraded proceed to add them to their blocks. The result: two or more chains that coexist within the Bitcoin network, creating confusion among users and wreaking havoc on the price and viability of the network’s future. Gathering the consensus required for a hard fork would be a near Herculean feat—and even then, the highly risky unintended consequences introduced by the change could be far more damaging than the ultimately manageable problem it would aim to address.

smart words:

"one of the oldest artifacts in the world is the Code of Hammurabi, a Babylonian document dating back to almost 2000BC which deals with contract law. Contract law is the foundation on which civilizations are built. And it is the basis for how we – no, they – have been able to create corporate society. Through contract law, you get access to a set of legal tools in order to incorporate and scale upwards. With Bitcoin, we now have a new set of tools, that are not based on the law of the state, but based on the laws of mathematics. This enables us to create decentralized law, digital governance, and a wide scope of means for trade and business."
