Does anyone know if they can tell if they really do have 20nm chips as opposed to 28nm if they are going to ship you 5 boxes? What if they shipped Nov jups at 700G underclocked to conserve power and put them in 5 shiny boxes that would equal 3T.
462  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANN: BITMAIN has Tested Its 28nm Bitcoin Mining Chip BM1382 on: June 19, 2014, 12:01:46 AM
the difficulty increases are no longer 18%/jump. Its closer to 14%/jump if you average the last 5 or so, and its visibly decreasing. (the network is no longer doubling every month - not sure if anyone noticed it now takes 7-10 weeks per doubling)

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty says its 18% but that usually drops after a week in the lead up to the next hike.
( Estimated Next Difficulty:   15,980,709,911 (+18.70%) )

I would pay 1BTC for an S3 - possibly up to 1.1BTC if it DELIVERS before the end of June.

I was originally thinking its going to be somewhere around 1.5 BTC, but now I am thinking it maybe even higher being this is batch 1 of the S3, and if the price was fixed to BTC, would drop slowly over the following months along with bigger drops as batch 2, 3 and 4 come out.
1 BTC with some coupons thrown in would be quite competitively priced. I really am glad that they are taking the modular small approach. It helps to spread out the power and heat in different locations.

^ ya, srsly. If you're willing to plunk down 10Gs have some sense and just go get decent 16 or 24 port device. Not sure how to run it then spend a few more quid to get someone to set it up for you. It's not that hard.
464  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: June 17, 2014, 11:34:00 PM
Why are Guy and Jimmothy slugging it out in the KNC thread ? You are both seriously off-topic.

Indeed. Got carried away. Going to sleep now.

Good, go f' off to your own thread next time.

You guys that still have your orders send us some pics when they come in. Glad to see you are actually getting hardware.
465  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: June 15, 2014, 03:10:12 PM

not sure if this applies to you guys calculations.but according to my power co in upper midwest..they say my kwh rate is .086c
when you figure taxes and other stuff on the bill the real price per kwh is .15c

so look at your sources and figure accordingly

Searing

I was getting .07/kW but my opportunistic south Texas utility ups it to .13/kW for summer. I agree with timmothy and see a 10G or more mining expense would certainly justify adding a few circuits to a home. A 1G investment in power would be the smart move to make.
466  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: June 14, 2014, 04:11:54 AM

Repaired or Not...It WILL be hashing next week!!!!

That is so crappy to send this kind of used crap to customers that paid 10-13Gs for equipment. That's why I hate these guys more than anything.
467  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: June 14, 2014, 02:26:23 AM
Are you math challenged? Neptune is 2.5$/GH while SP30 is 0.88$/GH.

So you *will* agree to match Neptune $/GH for $/GH ? If Neptune comes in at $.50/GH you'll offer the SP30 at $.50/GH or less for September delivery with a 100% refund guarantee ?

I miss Bitcoinorama! At least he made sense.

He's been bound and ball-gagged. If he can at least add up, he should post.

step aside, butch

bring out the gimp

No "Official" press release, but sounds like they will begin shipping the Neptune next week according to their forum and Twitter.

I can imagine there could be obstacles , he said , if they see any issues we should start hashing in their mining cloud.

WHAT???

Not sure how when even AMD and Nvidia (bigger customers) are unlikely to see 20nm chips this year!  Wink

because they've already taped out(although we have not seen a pic), and an ASIC is much less complex than your everyday GPU.
I would really appreciate seeing a 20nm wafer for the first time....   c'mon KNC?

I'd like to see unicorns, leprechauns and bigfoot, too. I'm guessing we're talking the same thing here, eh?  "sips mojito"

Very true. Time to pull out the folding chairs and sip on the mojitos while we watch the train wreck and ensuing chaos.

damn it...just got the refund/compensation for the BFL train wreck!

(if i don't get messed with by an asci mnfg company my btc experience is not complete i guess)

Congrats! The few, the proud, those that successfully pulled a refund from Josh's grasp! "Hands Searing a mojito."

We still haven't seen any pic of a chip or a running prototype for the knobtune. Do you seriously believe that you'll have a "working" piece of equipment in your hands? If past performance is any indication of future predictions then I will hedge my bets that you'll get shoddy un-tested equipment with garbage firmware that probably won't hash at 3T. I don't know what you guys use to see through rose colored glasses and see nothing but unicorns and rainbows, but you should go into business selling that stuff instead of blowing that BS up everyone's ass here.

Does anybody know the current estimated shipping data for the Titan, anything more precise than Q2/Q3?

This has to be one of the greatest marketing tactics ever.  It's actually a 6 month window. Maybe April 1 maybe sept 30.  Even then it's only estimated not guaranteed.

Neptune supposed to be Q1/Q2, right? now is end of Q2, and 3rd batch even doesn't have a delivery date, simply one month after batch 2, who knows when.

Conclusion: they promised delivery date is just a reference, could be next year.

p.s., I did't follow KNC all the way, but based on recent conversion/online posts, KNC promise no longer exists; correct me if I am wrong.

They are very poor at communication with customers. They've stated the "news, alas no news after all." a few times. A lot of people have cancelled their orders, I among them. There's been a ridiculous delay to process refunds. Some people have been able to get btc refunds which might cut a week or two off of "processing." So, you're in for waiting and waiting for your refund. Sad You can read back several pages to see what others have experienced. Anyway, welcome to the forum!

I am still happy with my KnC Jupiters, but I ask for a refund for Neptunes in early february.
I am glad I did that and invested the BTC in Dragons 1T miners.

Same exact position. Very happy (and still mining with) my Jupiters, chugging away. Neptunes, made the smart move (like everyone else) and went refunds. If they are on time with Titans and are what I expect, then continuing, KnCMiner is still good in my book.

You're selling shares in them, so of course they're still good Wink " Titan Shares starting at $29 for 1 MH/s "

Lol, I'm sorry, was this supposed to be a jab at me or something?

I'm not selling anything in regards to the SP10s or SP30s and I think those are good machines (should be priced better) but they are good in my book as well.

I think in regards to scrypt mining the Lee Group is doing well too. Not selling anything related to them.

So, I'm sorry if you thought I was 'shilling' for KnC but people have seen me post in here time and time again for a lonngg time about what I do and do NOT like about KnC. Additionally, you even quoted me saying I refunded all of my orders on a miner because I knew they weren't good. Clearly showing I'm not 'all' for KnC.

no, no jab. just thought the whole thing was funny. Thanks for clearing it up.

For those of you that still have an order with knc they've had your money now for 8 months. If you had refunded early at $10,000 you could have bought 28 bitcoins when it was $350 and now had btc worth $18,500.

You could buy 4T from bitmain now and have $600 left over. Why are you all so determined to keep your orders? How much longer are you going to wait?
