461  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you believe Technical Analysis? on: November 17, 2023, 02:39:45 PM
I believe, if not with technical analysis, how else can we determine the direction to buy or sell. at least it helps compared to having to just guess. As far as usage goes, I get premium signals with technical analysis, they are quite accurate, although not 100%, but for me that is enough proof that this is quite accurate and profitable.
You are right, without technical analysis of course we would have made the decision to buy or sell only based on the feelings we have and it would be very unlikely that we would be able to get the profits that we would get, if by using technical analysis we would not be able to get our profits. It is still possible to improve the analysis that we use to be able to gain from the trading that we do.
Technical Analysis predict the next possible direction of the price we can't trade successful without TA candlestick patterns itself reveal alot about end of a trend, continuation of price and beginning of a trend, once a trader grasp the whole idea of technical analysis it becomes easier to take a trading decision at the appropriate time, though Fundamentals do move the price hence when a positive or negative fundamental news is released, price tend to either change direction of the present trend or reverse completely, however the candlestick patterns unveil itself in tune with the present or lastest condition of the market which indicates a trading setup.
462  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How did you overcome the hurdles and gain confidence to trade as a Newbie? on: November 17, 2023, 06:37:13 AM
Entering the world of Bitcoin trading can be both exciting and daunting, especially for newcomers. The volatile nature of cryptocurrency markets and the plethora of information available can sometimes overwhelm new traders.

Todays question i would share how we overcame these hurdles and gain confidence to trade as a Newbie?.
I gained more confidence in trading when I see a trading strategy learnt from experienced crypto traders unfolded exactly the way it was illustrated on back tested charts thus reaffirmed the opinion of many traders that price movement or history repeat itself, however the time and period to learn this setups and strategy differentiate a good trader and bad trader though it would take a lot of charting time analysis to get accustomed to those trading models, it's obvious experience Bitcoin traders are earning profits consistently on daily basis whenever any trading setup open up whether Short or Long trade by capitalizing on the volatility of prices especially in a trending marke.
463  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you bet on when your league is in break? on: November 17, 2023, 06:08:08 AM
as a football bettor and really like football even though the international break is still an alternative to betting on other leagues such as bundesliga 2 or La Liga 2 and I am sure as a football bettor I can definitely move to several other football leagues and I also bet there but when simultaneously there are no matches scheduled I usually bet on casino games like roulette and crazy time just to entertain myself in my free time.

and what I see from several other users replies as bettors they can always bet on other sports betting or on esports games that they like.
When the league I bet is on break I also take a break, my choice of bet is football betting and once European league ends which is usually around May/June till Mid August every season that period is off for me in any form of betting and gambling activities though other leagues in other continents still continues unfortunately I am not familiar with their leagues and their clubs thus I can't rely on analysis obtained online and risk my money, though it's good to research on other type of sport bettings such as basketball, tennis, horse racing etc, however the passion I have for football wouldn't bother or allow me to delve into other type of bettings.
464  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Hardwork no longer incur success on: November 16, 2023, 09:06:51 PM
You will agree with me that in our present country, It is not the most hard working that is the richest but the most smart working. The hardest labor and jobs are no longer the highest paying jobs, people sit at home and make the total money for a year that just a hard worker and not a smart worker can make. Life expectancy for Nigerians dey short because of bad health care and poor environment, we nor need to add stress to am, make we for nor go die quick. While we dey try to make money, we gats focus majorly on finding smartways to make money, not just depending on harwork, Hardwork alone no longer incurs success.

Some examples of smart ways to make money are;
be social and make good friends who you can grow with. The information you have can determine if you will have money or not, try get friends wey una dey talk better things like how to make more money.
Do your research then invest in where others dey invest. People dey invest in bitcoins, invest in bitcoins.

Share some other smart ways to make money.
This one na confirm true talk people wey dey do hard work no dey earn better pay for Naija for instance check factory workers, sales boys or girls, even teachers self na normal salary wey no reach anywhere but go see how smart naija guys wey dey into crypto whether as a trader or merchant for Binance, others wey dey into programming especially Blockchain developers, web3 developers etc those guys dey cash out millions of naira monthly, go to twitter and see smart guys wey dey into forex trading and trading with Prop firm see their huge USDT withdrawal in every two weeks this one's sure cash out without any stress na just the knowledge and skills is required all those monies are earned in comfort of their homes.
465  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This time for meme coin? on: November 16, 2023, 08:51:12 PM
Not a fan of meme coins at all I think there are a very risky investment although many have made millions from it. I personally prefer investing in good project with a solid concept and team thought it may not bring in as much profits as meme coins.
Investment in memecoin is like gambling indeed a very risky investment, however some investors in their bid to make quick money and profit  not minding the fact that memecoins are pump and dump coin, probably period in which they bought the coin it price had peaked and over priced already thereafter dumped massively resulting to a massive losses, this is not like the credible and trusted cryptocurrencies that has seasons when you can invest especially during the bearish run even when you bought at high and the price dump thereafter by hodling for a long period of time you can still breakeven or earn profit these are some of the features of real cryptocurrencies.
466  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can the bullish pin bar candle pattern be used to predict the bull market? on: November 16, 2023, 04:17:24 PM
As April's Halving event approaches, one wonders even more when the expected increase in BTC's value will take place. Are there any specific candle patterns that you know of that can be used in technical analysis to catch the Bull Run ahead of time?  There are those who argue that candlestick patterns called bullish pin bars signal a bull market, but I am not so sure about the validity of candlestick patterns in terms of predicting the right outcome.

Do you have an indicator that you use that you think is useful for accurate predictions in technical analysis? Also, have you come across such a sign in the recent past until today and what are your analyzes?
As far as price action of Bitcoin is concerned there is no specific candlestick pattern just like the bullish pin bar you mentioned that would signal the start of the bullish trend before halving of Bitcoin, many investors had already capitalized on the price of Bitcoin as at November last year when it was around $15K+ and bought low as well as accumulate thus there isn't any need for them to wait for any candlestick pattern that would trigger the next bull run, meanwhile candlestick patterns is use mainly by day traders or swing traders for trading at a specific period of time or day they made an entry after the candlestick indicate a specific pattern and exit the trade after making some profits.
467  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A tip for staying resposible while gambling. on: November 16, 2023, 11:37:44 AM
While gambling some people gamble with small amounts which is not very important for them, but for those who are new to gambling and not able to control themselves or play with something reasonable amount.
So I have a tip for them you can stick a real paper money note in front of your monitor which will remind you that money is hard to earn and play responsibly or don't play with big amounts.
the note will remind every time that how you earned that money, and if you are controlled and this tip is not very important for you them you can ignore it, but i found this helpful.
There are times when chasing losses some gamblers can be overwhelmed with emotion consequently will always ignore any paper money sticked in front of the monitor infact some of them would completely remove it because they wouldn't be able to control themselves at that moment this wouldn't work at all, the best bet is to deposit small fund which is the amount of money you can afford to lose and remain disciplined while betting with small money to avoid being addictive, well this idea might possibly work for some people, however It would not work for majority though from my own perspective
468  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sweat coin. Is this real? on: November 16, 2023, 11:21:32 AM
i really wonder how people fall for these kinds of trap

i mean maybe those really tempted by money would have all their logic thrown out of the window once they see the amount being given to them but still wouldn’t they be more careful knowing they have wallets and assets to protect? why give it carelessly even for this much big of amount? even for newbies?

no one can’t possibly think this is charity i can’t even think of a possible excuse why would they give you this much money without requiring any effort or time from you this is why being a critical thinker is a must!
Of course they fall into this trap because they are greedy, lack knowledge and don't look for information first when getting an airdrop link or something like that which requires us to connect a wallet or have to follow the airdrop.

Honestly, every day I get airdrop invitations on Telegram, but I don't care, I just block them. That's the best way we can do it because there is no free airdrop without being given a task. I'm not saying all airdrops are scams, there are also airdrops that make more money like tesnet and running its project nodes.
Honestly the huge amount of coin involved make a lot of newbies to become greedy and get carried away, if someone who is been involved in crypto for long would know that it's a red flag in my Twitter account I do recieve messages that I had won huge amount of money but expected to send some Ethereum to them as gas fee which I knew is scam unfortunately some newbies would easily fall for this scam, I was also in similar telegram group sometimes ago where links on airdrops were shared on the platform but was cautious of several demand for sending of transaction fee whose value is huge on an Airdrop whose future is not feasibly and  without a roadmap by it developers
469  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is it difficult for people to get capital easily? on: November 15, 2023, 08:17:12 PM
I came to discovered that, there are many opportunities all over the world for people to embrace by investing some huge amount of money on a particular business and start living a big man life in the country. I have been working hard to get capital to start my own business, so that I will have financial freedom to invest in BTC and any kind of business that will make me not to reduce to zero level in the country but I have worked with many companies but to save the money is the issue because of the disturb of my siblings which I love so much. I was in their shoes before when I was in school some years ago before I became a graduate, and anytime I made demand of anything from my elder brother and sister they must respond to me well by sending the money and food stuff when I was in school, and the day they refuse to respond to me, I will be seriously angry with them not to pick their calls or reply their chat at the moment until they look for way to solve my problem.
How did you get your capital to start that business you are doing today? Or do you experience some things like this from your relatives, because to get capital these days is not easy for me, and there are some people all over the world looking for way to get this capital to start a good business but is not easy for them. Can you share your experience on how you get your capital.

You have to do other things than you usually do, for example if you work and your salary can only cover your needs, then you have to do other things to get extra money which you can later use for investment or opening your own business.
In most cases 9-5 job would have taken most of the time such that it would be absolutely impossible to have time to do other things, from personal experience I always became exhausted and tired after work, so the issue of working on other stufif to earn extra money except carrying out some task online though the income from that source wouldn't be enough for investment beside in my country there is hyperinflation such that it becomes very difficult to save some extra funds out of my monthly salary because after all my budgets the extra fund isn't enough for other investment and the government had not increase our wages, .I think getting capital for other things isn't realistic for now
470  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which is more profitable trading ETH/USD or ETH/BTC on: November 15, 2023, 04:36:53 PM
Can you give me insight, do you think trading via ETH/BTC is more profitable than ETH/USD? Please give me an advice.
Reference to ETH/BTC and ETH/USD daily timeframe it's obvious that latter is profitable when traded based on it Price movement which trended massively whether in a bullish or bearish run and the fact that ETH is paired with a stable coin reduces the time to analyze the price movement of ETH and BTC separately, personally I took my time to analyze price movement of crypto pairs with crypto/USDT of which are majority of stable coin pairs on Binance they are well tradeable infact they are majority of traded pair compared to crypto pairs thus focus your attention on them as well as trade them, moreso they usually form regular candlestick patterns which can aid a trader to take trading decision.
471  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Government's actions against crypto on: November 15, 2023, 04:07:15 PM
For sure, no matter how hard they try Bitcoin accumulation and its usage will keep on increasing day by day until dey have nothing to fight with. That is, Bitcoin will became too powerful for dem to even restrict their citizens from adopting it. Because I believe that a time will come were if your economy does not accept Bitcoin you'll bee seen as a less developed and ignorant nation. Currently bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are on restriction in my country but that does not stop me from accumulating bitcoin or increasing my crypto portfolio, they can restrict us but they can not stop us.
It is very clear that a country is struggling to face the development of decentralized blockchain technology, they are trying to avoid using blockchain technology with a centralized closed system by stopping all online businesses that use decentralized technology. However, fighting it will be in vain for the country, because the development of bitcoin is too strong, there are many ways to get it and the country cannot stop it.

Continuing to collect bitcoins in a portfolio is a smart choice because bitcoin will grow bigger in the future and I think gradually the country will adopt bitcoin technology too in the future. Due to the increase in its use, it is increasing day by day.
It's a pity that countries that suppose to harness the potential of Blockchain technology to solve many societal problems are unfortunately opposed to adoption of Bitcoin many of these countries are opposed to Blockchain which is the core feature of Bitcoin because they cannot control it or may affect their monetary policies due to it decentralization, yet wouldn't look to the other useful features of it, I am aware of solutions to chain supply, voting etc can be solve using Blockchain, however despite all those restrictions, ban clamping down yet Bitcoin has come to stay because there are various methods of evading any government restrictions of it for it users.
472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 15, 2023, 07:01:18 AM
Aston Villa has better goal productivity than Tottenham. But I see Tottenham still have a good chance of beating Aston Villa. This is an interesting match because the two teams are only 1 point apart. Tottenham will win that match and Aston Villa will remain in 5th place in the standings. Even though Aston Villa has more wins but it cannot be said that Aston Villa has better chances.
It would be a really interesting match of equal teams. Aston Villa with the arrival of Emery plays attacking soccer and scores a lot of goals and as it is not strange, but Tottenham with the departure of Kane became a more attacking team and began to score even more, although it seemed the departure of the top scorer should weaken the team, but the opposite happened.
Both clubs are trying to return to the soccer elite and especially Aston Villa need it, which has not played at the highest level for a long time. So now for Aston Villa Chelsea and Tottenham are direct competitors for a place in the Europa League and maybe even in the Champions League.

We expect a lot of goals in their match, but still I think now Aston Villa will be a bit stronger than Tottenham and should win.
Tottenham Hotspurperformance had been on decline after losing to Chelsea two weeks ago who ended their unbeaten runs in the league thereafter lost to Wolves 1-2 in an interesting cracker last weekend, I think the team is not as formidable as before due to injury to some of their key players, their next match against Aston Villa would be different, thus another tough match, however I don't think they stand any chance of winning the match, Aston Villa has been in a superb form in their last six previous matches having lost one match against Nothingham Forest thus the best result Tottenham can get against Aston Villa is draw I am not expecting them to win that match except if some of their injured key players are fit and back into the team.
473  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do You Think Staking is the Perfect Passive Income Strategy in a Bull Market? on: November 15, 2023, 06:46:57 AM

For me, staking during a bull run has been akin to hitting two birds with one stone as enjoying the rewards from staking and potentially benefiting from the rising value of the staked assets. This dual advantage has made it a successful strategy in my experience. More than just a means to earn, staking has also been a way for me to engage with and contribute to the growth and innovation of blockchain technology.

It gives you more if you are staking good coins but if you are staking shitcoins, you only get nothing and lose your money.
Staking is risky and we should have to know that first because at the time we put our money into a particular platform for staking, we are also losing control of it which means that if they take it or the exchange platform turns into a scam, you can never take it back.

You can say it is hitting 2 birds is one stone but sometimes you may hit it as well - your money and your time.
This is were a some input is required by the staker else such an investor would stake on the wrong coin and ended up losing hard earned money, some research would save an investor from staking on a or some shitcoins, some of those coins has low volatility in their price movement while some are overpriced these are some of the factors to be considered when staking, unfortunately many investors are after massive profits while staking blindly on any coin hoping to earned quick profits, personally I would prefer one or two coins for staking after a thorough analysis and research on them and having satisfied with their Price Action and Past price behavior, I would stake them.
474  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: We should control our tongue at all time. on: November 14, 2023, 08:28:10 PM
I was traveling from Port Harcourt to Bayelsa state yesterday afternoon, we go to a police check point and it was the Federal Sars men that stopped us. While they were doing their lawful duty of searching the vehicle and the passengers in it, a girl that was sitting behind me made a comment and the officer that was conducting the search heard her loud and clear. She said '' You people are just wasting our time, if it were the bad boys terrorizing the region you people won't stop them''. The Sars man got angry and asked the girl to come down from the vehicle, the girl came down and she was taken into their custody for further questioning about her comment. The officer asked the driver to carry the rest of the passenger and continue with the journey. Some passengers pleaded with the officer to let the girl go but they refused, they said the girl must show them evidence where she saw them not stopping bad boys. They accused the girl of working with bad boys. The girl was detained while we continued with our journey.
The girl wouldn't have found herself in that situation if she had kept quiet without saying a word.
we should learn how to control our tongue at all time. Don't say unguided words when in public place.
Don't say anything when your opinion is not sought after in a public place because you don't know who is who.
I feel like sharing this so that we can avoid some unnecessary problems in our lives.

She was reckless with her tongue, no matter the fact that, we are as country are experiencing some form of lawlessness, we should try and respect those of them that are policing us, it's not easy to put your life on the line for the safety of others, if she's is charged to court, she can either go to jail or pay a fine for misguided statement against constituted authorities.
Some people are naturally born with verbal diarrhoea especially ladies they talk recklessly irrespective of where they are, I have met few of them like the lady mentioned by the OP whose recklessness of her tongue had put her into trouble, whenever law enforcement agents are performing their legal duties it is not the responsibility of any civilian to question them or make a derogatory remark to them especially when they are performing "Stop and Search" infact the lady was very lucky that it was not some military men that stopped her it would have brutal because she would be subjected to some severe punishment instantly and at the end she might never remain the same health wise infact she would admitted straight to the hospital.
475  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gambling and Invest in gambling. on: November 14, 2023, 06:35:13 PM

How do I take advantages over the gambles while I am not gambling anymore?
I tend to invest in the gambling. How?
At my visits in the gambling grounds, I will be lending my funds to the losers who has run out of  funds and willing to bet more if they have more money.
I tends to make this a deal with interest charges with concrete agreement to be secured and I will be opened to also accepting collaterals.
By your action you are directly or indirectly aiding their gambling habit despite losing their bets yet lending them money with interest by your action some of them would be bankrupt after paying back their debt with interest after all the funds borrowed ended up as loser, of course you would have confiscated their collaterals for those who were unable to pay back absolutely this idea isn't the best, there are alternative means of earning from gambling without placing a bet or getting involved directly, instead you can create a blog and monetize it by posting match analysis on a regular basis especially if you are good a soccer/football, basketball pundits by hosting it on the web you can generate a lot of traffic consequently earning legitimatel income.
476  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you rather make your investments in FIAT or CRYPTO? on: November 14, 2023, 05:30:16 PM
The crypto market has a high level of volatility. Anyone who is about to make an investment needs to have a good understanding of the volatile market. Now the question is, even with volatility, will you still choose to make your investment in fiat through bank savings with regular monthly interests or rather make your investments in crypto where you hold your asset and still have the opportunity to save and make monthly interest?
I would choose crypto investment any day any time base on the fact that investment in fiat wouldn't yield as much profit as crypto even with less input unlike fiat, in crypto you buy low when it price is in bearish run by buying bit by bit using DCA thereafter capitalize on it volatility during a bullish run or when  it price pump massively just like what we are experiencing now in the market, for instance last year December the price of Bitcoin was $15700 an investor who bought at that price would have earned a 100% profit now with a simple buy and hodl, an $100K investment would have yielded same amount or more that is one of the main reasons that would always prompt me to invest in crypto whatever amount of fiat in my disposal I would always exchange it to crypto for investment.
477  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Question for those who loose too frequently in gambling on: November 14, 2023, 04:09:10 PM
I have often wondered about the people who have lost a lot in gambling and who almost loose in every gambling activity they participate. What is their reason or motivation to continue even after so many losses?
They usually have a mindset of winning big someday, however this had never become a reality for majority of them, I had a close relationship with a pool gambler who had spent almost all his money on pool and lottery yet had never hit the jackpot and other factors that do motivate them is when a gambler among luckily wins a jackpot this only happens once in a while, thus such a winning occurrence only encourages them to gamble more to increase their chances of winning, though majority do stake or bet with just small amount of money especially the lottery gamblers who are expected to pick some numbers daily.
478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is it still risky to Invest into Altcoin now? on: November 14, 2023, 03:57:15 PM
I would like to brief about the current market situation as there has been surge in value of altcoins a much higher surge compared to Bitcoin and many would have utilised this momentum to gain profit but if we look at the other side if you just look for top gainers you will find altcoins with top surge but the next day or after few days if you check the top losers you will find the same top gainers in this list as well. So there is a price increase for altcoin but not a established one like Bitcoin, because we have not seen dump in the value of Bitcoin for over an month now but Altcoins has been pumping and dumping and in my opinion it's not worth to make entery for long term as of now it's good only for quick profit whole being very active. What's your opinion ? Shall we invest or just involve in quick trades ?
You made a honest analysis and review on price action of majority of the altcoins it's like those altcoins are taking turns to pump and dump, altcoins like SOL, XRP, XTZ, ETC,EOS, DOT, LINK etc all pump at certain period thus investors that bought them a lower price would have made some reasonable profits now after selling at a higher price, the process of buying low and selling high repeated with another altcoin, though the major task for any investor now is to make research on those altcoins that are yet to pump with some feature of high volume of the coin traded daily and possibly among the top 50 altcoins on CoinMarketCap most importantly not yet overpriced.
479  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler's family action. on: November 13, 2023, 05:18:26 PM

Just two questions here:
1. Dis the family of this young man went too extreme in trying to help stop their brother from gambling addiction or not?

2. Assuming you are this young man and you had to run to a distant location to carry out your gambling as you are allowed to gambling within your neighborhood and luckily you won huge sum of million dollars. Would you share that money with your loved ones who were barring you from gambling or you will just stay off from them and live new found wealthy live alone?

Share your thoughts!
From my own point of view the family did the right thing just to prevent a situation whereby when the gambler ended up bankruptcy he is going to fall back to his family, of course he might ended up frustrated after being bankrupted such that he might not be in his usual self again "prevention is better than cure" it's better to curb his addiction earlier to avoid touching stories.
If I eventually win big in gambling sharing out of the money won to loves ones is necessary despite their opposition to my gambling activities afterall the action they initial took is to prevent me from getting addicted based on the consequences of being a gambling addict.
480  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stop Trading on: November 13, 2023, 05:02:13 PM

1) Series of Losing Trade

If you noticed that the losses you had are more in a series of trade you took then take a break. If you proceed you will start doing revenge trading and lose out. A break will help you re-evaluate yourself and maintain psychological and emotion balance.

Honestly the emotion after a series of losing streaks prompt a trade to continue trading so as to recover those losses unfortunately most of those trades entry is not according to the trading strategy most of the time I do trade blindly unfortunately or consequently resulted to more losses understandable now that the best thing or remedy is to take a break.

2) Market is Consolidating

Surely there is no direction in the Market once it is consolidating. This will waste your time and make you make irrational decisions.
Truly trading in a ranging market is very frustrating except if the trader is a scalper, unfortunately one has to be an experience trader to become a scalper, ranging market is nightmare for swing traders, the best bet is to continue to observe the market till a fundamental news is released which would definitely move the market.

3) When Emotionally Unstable

Are you angered, troubled, disturbed, or even excited etc. At that point don't engage the market.

This is a very bad idea ie trading when angry it would lead to losing streak if care is not taken, in case of such a scenario the trader should never trade until the anger subsided.

5) When your set-up is not established

You know your pattern of trade and your set up more than I do. Once this set up has not been confirmed or has past don't trade. Don't help the market.
I adopted two model of step up which I only implement if the price of the traded pair form that patterns or model once the setup is confirmed I place a trade with Stop loss and take profit target.
