481  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Pope Francis: “We are not alone in the Universe.” on: May 26, 2014, 05:24:39 PM
Then we have the question again if every planet has "their" Jesus, the one and only Son of God.

This is a serious discussion and I think it was Teilhard de Chardin who would say yes. He tried to combine theology and rational science and thus worked out that a "Son of God" manifestation would be a necessary evolutionary step in the development of every intelligent species.

If there is intelligent life they would view us as nothing but primitive monkeys, let alone take our advice/opinions  Cheesy
If i told you that there was a species of monkey that would one day be more inteligient and aggresive, and will try to take over the human race. what do you think you would do to that now primitive monkey? same with aliens perhaps extinguish now before we come unhandleable in the distent future.
Any society able to monitor us should know we're technological laggards in comparison. They've likely gone beyond resource scarcity, so crushing us, I imagine, for most scenarios, is probably trivial (outside, perhaps, any philosophical debates). By the time we find them, we'll probably have moved beyond resource scarcity, too, so outside some type of jellies over their cultural achievements, there's really no reason to be bothering them except to exchange perspectives and advance the art of resource collection and manipulation. I imagine they've found a primary "industry planet" so unimaginably large and dense that they literally hurl planets and moons into the surface of one side to break it apart and keep it on the surface for the automated mining drones.

Or maybe they're struggling with meaningless existence issues still, and have formed some type of goofy gladiator society. I hope they've adopted ridiculous stereotypes to form their Superman Myth around, or maybe they try to mimic our most ridiculous stereotypes and just play with us while they genocide us. You know - like the Black American musclehead stereotype who walks around, MOTHERFUCKING THIS, and MOTHERFUCKING THAT! I'd love that... or they wage wars with ridiculous mechanical monsters like "Flame Belly" or "Laser Dick," where the absurd method of destruction is itself is a form of art for the society. Maybe they'll create drones which are both fun and a fair match, broadcasting the war and permitting us to exist should we manage to come out alive.

Alternately, maybe they're emotional and disappointed to see we are relatively primitive, so they kill us out of spite. ... Err - at any rate, I'd be stunned if they killed us because they thought we could overpower them some time in the future. Would that be something for humanity to be proud of?

They won't need to crush us really, Imagine an alien civilization capable of intergalactic or even interstellar space flights they would be so advanced that our intelligence would be scaled in comparison to the same the same as our intelligence is scaled to a worm or even worse a bacteria, I doubt that we would be even worth their time, as there must more interesting stuff in the universe than our puny planet or less than average solar system
482  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Sudanese Muslim woman sentenced to death for Christian conversion on: May 26, 2014, 05:14:33 PM
but this case is pretty complex imo, I don't understand how they figured out blah blah blah
NONE OF THIS MATTERS.  It is not "complex".  She has not mudered anyone, she has not kidnapped anyone, she has not raped anyone.  Therefore there is no reason to put her to death.  Kick her out of your Muslim only country is the most rash thing to do.

It is as wrong to put someone to death for being a Christian as it is for being a Muslim or even a God damned atheist.

You are just repeating the point I said in my initial comment and we don't disagree here but obviously you didn't read it, I'm trying to figure how out did they come out with such a sentence, what was the reasoning because this is not some tribal stuff, the judgment was made apparently in an official court, which render which means there might be stuff we don't know.

So calm down, and don't call me stuff you have no idea about because you couldn't be any wrong.

Edit: just saw your last comment, yup there was a misunderstanding here, Why I'm saying things could be more complex and that we don't know everything, because apparently unless I missed something the judgment is made by an official jury, I also don't understand how did they know she was Muslim then she become Christian, faith is something personal, I think some more reading should be done, I'm against capital sentence no matter what the crime is, and even more in this case
483  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Evidence of Neo Nazi in Ukrainian military units. on: May 26, 2014, 05:08:17 PM
Probably the same.  Houses in every country remain on market for years, even decades, until they find some sucker to buy it off them.  Eastern Europe is full of terrible homes that are listed for $500K+, like it's a joke.  Grin

Local people pay different price.

Most likely the estate agency trying to find sucker abroad.

Maybe in Bulgaria or Serbia but there's no "pay different price" in most of Eastern Europe.  The real estate bubbles are rather extreme in those countries since no one is building enough new homes - and the lack of building is more a reaction to a lack of consumer purchasing power, what's the point of becoming a builder and building homes if the locals can't afford to buy?

Many people in Eastern Europe still make less than $10K/year and there isn't cheap credit like in the west, so I don't see this changing anytime soon, there's a lack of incentive for builders to construct.  Therefore an artificial shortage of home will result in existing inventory being overvalued due to scarcity.

this is the case in a lot of countries, prices for forgners that are presented by international agents are way over priced, while sometime they are in neighbouhoods that are built for that purpose sometimes it's a trap, local prices are much lower
484  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Iran hangs billionaire over bank fraud on: May 25, 2014, 10:50:47 PM
Apparently it's more than that, I think there treason involved in this, because there is no law being it Islamic or civil unless I missed something that give capital punishment for theft he would would have his hand cut.

I don't agree with capital punishment and I don't want this guy to be killed no matter what deed he've done, he should get 25 years of prison or even more, but if the guy is really guilty it is nice to see that some billionaires does get punishment and not getting away with it

as previously mentioned, this guy could have been singled out to take the fall.. which is fucked up, because in order for that kind of fraud to occur, multiple people have had to cooperate.. and those exact people get off scott free, also while ratting one guy out.

from OP article, 39 people were judged, it just happen that the guy is a billionair that's why the news is more axed around him
485  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Sudanese Muslim woman sentenced to death for Christian conversion on: May 25, 2014, 10:48:14 PM
Muslims need to ask themselves what kind of god or religous leaders that have that support death for something thats not harmul to know one.  Sad if they gonna murder someone just cause her faith is in a different religion.  Still livin in dark times indeed.

You should ask your self if it is the same everywhere in the Muslim world before putting all Muslims in the same bag.....
Extremism is bad and this is a form of it and it should be fought by educating the people in those area about tolerance

In a way if the petition was spearheaded by all Muslims in the world, this would have a much more impact into stopping this madness...

Make sure to spread the word, share that petition, tell everyone of your faith those people do not represent you..
kuroman:  Yes, if what you say is true then we should see at least another 600,000 signatures from the tolerant Muslims added to the petition.

it's all about spreading the word, I'm pretty sure that tolerent muslims already voted in and still voting, but this case is pretty complex imo, I don't understand how they figured out if she was muslim before and become Christian afterwards, unless she was preaching religion change or something I'm not sure
486  Other / Politics & Society / Re: National Russian card payment system established on: May 25, 2014, 07:43:48 PM
Russia’s payment system not replacement, but needed alternative to Visa, MasterCard

http://rt.com/business/161088-russia-payment-system-gref

It is a replacement on the national scale it is not on the international scale, it would similar to what exist in France = CB (Carte blue) system, where you have your credit card, with CB compliance and either VISA or Mastercard so that you can use your credit card when you are traveling or doing payement to international websites and stuff
487  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Evidence of Neo Nazi in Ukrainian military units. on: May 25, 2014, 07:37:55 PM
The US, EU and Israel needs to think twice before supporting these goons and supplying them with arms and ammunition. The regular Ukrainian soldiers are refusing to fight the civilians, while it is the Right Sector militants who are usually put on the front line.

they already did, didn't you check the new government composition and relation to neo nazi groups? Sadly the real loser here is Ukrain and Ukrainian population, while Russia and the west are only fighting for their geopolitical and economical interest.

Is this the first pope that accept that there is aliens?

Prominent religions like Islam or Christianity did never say we are alone heck you can find reference to angles and other beings that are far from being related to us or out planet, it's the people that are and were in control who used to mislead people for their own gain
490  Other / Politics & Society / Re: you get Richer as the Older You’ll Get on: May 25, 2014, 07:24:00 PM
well, the title is not totally wrong especially for middle class people, people mid and high middle class, that works as managing staff in companies, lawyers, doctors ....ect ect, tends to get higher salaries with experience that comes with age of course (it's not necessary always true but in general it is) and usually during the middle of the carrier, they get to buy house(s), flat(s) and stuff on a loan that they pay over the years, by the end of their career they usually have more than decent salaries, no loan to pay, living a decent life in a decent house and stuff, and they can afford more stuff by then, hence you seen people at their 60s just getting their Porsches or Ferraries, while when they were in the middle on their carriers they had your average sedan, is being in the high middle class can be considered as rich, well it's all about perspective really, but for the average joe it can be considered as rich

One person with a piece of carton board written on it to boycott US of A products does make whole Russia boycotting US product ? hmm, how is this even credible unless I missed some news where the population or a good portion of it is doing this

And again such call from a Russian population stand point is understandable, with all the aggressiveness toward their country being it from Media, or real acts like sanction to their industry, banks and companies by the US
493  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia may build eight nuclear reactors for Iran on: May 25, 2014, 07:02:19 PM
After petroleum and natural gas, nuclear fuel is the most important source of foreign currency for Russia. So Russia might ignore the safety concerns in Iran, for the sake of additional revenue.

http://www.nucnet.org/all-the-news/2013/11/13/rosatom-s-foreign-portfolio-reaches-usd-66-5-billion

There is no safety precaution to take here, Iran already have nuclrear power plants, having more nuclear power plants built under international standard is not an issue at all, and this shouldn't even be a news to be honest, but since it concern Russia, and Iran the news get overblown and put out of context

Hello, can I have a spot in your campaign for the 1st of June, sadly I can't join straight away since I need to respect the terms and conditions of the campaign I'm currently in, which is for me common sense and a base of trust between people, and hopefully I can do the same with you

495  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Reddit’s science forum banned climate deniers. on: May 23, 2014, 09:29:25 PM
Obviously banning is not the right to do and it hinders the freedom of speech, but you have to consider that most of the climate deniers are way too vocal (as most of them are politically or money driven) and it makes it hard to have a civil conversation with them, heck some did and were found guilty to provide fake and trafficed data as fact for the sake of winning an argument. So really I understand why banning is a bad thing, but at the same time I can understand that it might have been the only solutions for mods to keep some sections clean, only that, but it's not that bad either because climate deniers could make their own reddit and no one will stop them to say whatever they want there so it's not as bad as it seems
