use 'show keys' and secret spend key. then wipe out all you have ,install wallet and use 'restore' .

Thanks mate... seems like i skipped every fkin thread with this solution, but no i found them^^

Its syncing now! Thanks!
it may not work
Yeah it did Not Work... Same Errors as before :/

In the CLI, can you first type -> set priority 1

Subsequently, try sweep_unmixable again.
Ich tried it with the GUI. I will try it with the cmdclient and priority 1 again after work. Thanks for your support Smiley

Let me know if it worked. It seems like you have a lot of small outputs which, with the default fee, cannot pay for themselves.

Is is possible to keep the blockchain on an external hard drive to conserve space on my system drive? If so, how do I move it from the Monero GUI default destination?

Yes, see:

can not start the monero-wallet-gui.exe. Windows says "It doesnt working anymore, solution finding" So it ist my first touch with Monero Wallet i can not install. What could i do to solve this problem?

The file might be broken. Try to redownload the binaries and extract them to a new directory of your liking. Subsequently, try to open monero-wallet-gui.exe again.

Hello,

Would it be possible to add support@btcpop.co to a mandatory update email list?

We want to provide our users with as close to 100% wallet uptime as possible and in the past we have been late on some mandatory wallet/chain updates resulting in loss of user deposit/withdrawal ability or lost funds.

Thanks
Btcpop Team

There's currently no mail list, but I'd advise to simply check the reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/monero/) once a week. There'll be a general information thread stickied (well in advance) if there's an important scheduled protocol upgrade coming.

How to use monero wallet from whitepaper?

For the GUI, see this thread:

489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Addresses of a given wallet on: January 15, 2018, 01:22:43 PM
Hi,

I'm not sure this forum is appropriate, please forgive me and let me know if it isn't.

I use monero-gui-v0.11.1.0 and a single wallet.

Each integrated address I generate for this wallet share the same 88 first characters.  As far as I understand it shows that they are from the same wallet, I mean if I send one of those addresses to somebody,  then if I later send another to the same person, the person will know that those addresses are from the same wallet. Did I understand correctly?

If so how may I avoid this, in other terms how may I obtain completely unrelated (apparently) payment addresses? I understand that I can create a new wallet for each address, but it is not convenient (more things to do and my moneroj will be dispersed, leading to even more things to do if I have to pay a sum superior to any single wallet's contents).  A Bitcoin wallet lets me obtain (apparently) unrelated addresses, is it possible with a Monero wallet?

Thank you!

Yes. It's fairly trivial to derive the plain address from the integrated address. Currently your situation is only avoided by creating multiple wallets. However, the next release will include subaddresses, which allows you to simply generate a new subaddress in the same wallet each time you have a need for a new "address". See:

https://lab.getmonero.org/ (MRL-0006)

i am curious  , is there anyone who have the same trouble as me (You seem to be missing the last word in your private key, please try again ) and has solved it?

i am reading and trying for days now and i know more people had this issue

Do you still have old bitmonero & simplewallet binaries?

no . to bad i had an accident which ruin 80 percent of my portfolio and computer so i have some xmr but i hold them on an exchange but i find a note with my ( old ) mnomenic seed for XMR and when trying to put in the seed in

https://mymonero.com/#/create-your-account , the above message about the last word of my seed has made me stop trying , how many words could be possible?

i also hear about an old simple wallet with 1 word less but i do not restored the old wallet

any more options to try???

my time off following XMR was at date with my old BTT acount (meccoin4me) which is also is useless after the accident and after starting crypto again i almost forgot about XMR , till i found my incomplte seed

Apparently there's another way, try these steps:

1. Go to the Github repository: https://github.com/luigi1111/xmr.llcoins.net/

2. Press "Clone or download" and download the ZIP.

3. Note that the ZIP (i.e. included pages) can be used offline (on an airgapped system) if needed.

4. Extract the ZIP to a directory of your liking.

5. Open addresstests.html

6. Set the "Mnemonic Dictionary" to "Electrum (Aeon default)"

7. Enter your 24 word mnemonic seed in box "1. Mnemonic Seed:"

8. Press "Gen 2."

9. Set the "Mnemonic Dictionary" to "English (Monero default)"

10. Press "Gen 1."

You should now have a 25 word mnemonic seed that you can restore with the GUI:

The old mnemonic seeds had 24 words, whereas the current mnemonic seeds have 25 words. MyMonero probably accepts only 13 or 25 word mnemonic seeds.

I've asked Fluffypony if there is an archive somewhere with the old bitmonero & simplewallet binaries. Then, you can simply restore your wallet and open the .keys file with the most recent version.

how many words could be possible?
1627

This is the word list being used now.  Probably the list your seed was drawn from.  Look up your seed words on the list as a sanity check.

Being pedantic, but it's 1626:

I am using a Monero wallet that I downloaded many months ago. Is it still supported?

Also, if I have my Monero in the developers wallet, will I get additional coins if there is a hardfork?

Thanks,  G.P.

1. You'll have to upgrade in advance of the hard fork. There'll be ample time to do this though and it'll be announced well in advance.

2. No. This is a consensual scheduled protocol upgrade.

Somebody was talking that there will be xmr hard fork already on 15th january. Is there any link for that?

That was last year.

Do we have a date yet for when transaction fees are supposed to be reduced?

Once Bulletproofs go live. That's either March or September. In addition, you might be interested in reading:

Does XMR have block explorer?I'd like to check my wallet balance. But I don't want to update my wallet.

You can't look up wallet balances on a Monero block explorer.

Do not download blockchains from mining computers, just connect them to the host. Is this possible? It's a hassle to use your wallet on Windows.

This just struck me. When we get range proofs a "queued transaction" option would be amazing. For those who are unaware with the introduction of rage proofs comes the scaling of transactions by number of outputs at log(n). This would massively reduce fees for a lot of users and atleast some amount of network load.  It would in a way allow monero to do micro transactions. Or something maybe pretty close to it.

So lets say we are talking about the gui. When you prepare a transaction right below the "send" button there could be a "queue" button.  Just queue up any sort of transaction that is non critical. If you want to make a donation to your favorite artist. Or you owe a friend some money but he isn't in a hurry to get paid back. Or you want to buy something but you aren't in a hurry to get it right away. Don't send it just queue it. Once you get a decent amount of things queued the fees would be drastically reduced. Up to 80% ontop of the already 80% savings being brought by range proofs.

And incentivizing people to queue in-order to save themselves money has the added benefit of saving everyone else who uses the network money too. Holy virtue cycle.

Note that queuing is more difficult in Monero as change outputs are locked for 10 blocks. You could, however, queue some transactions if you have multiple inputs.

I only mean saving the intention of making the transaction for later. It really would be sort of an aesthetic thing. Not very different from having a todo list in a text file and adding addresses and amounts to it to save for combining later. I'm just imagining that it saves the address that you want to send to and the amount that you want to send and then adds those, with your permission, as outputs on your next pertinent transaction.

You might say that it isn't really the job of the monero core team to code something that could be done with a text file in another window. But, if people were provided a nice little convenient tool for doing this, it would have the effect of explaining to everyone that this is a good practice and help the network scale more since more people would naturally engage in this good practice more often.

Ok, I get the idea. I think something like this can and will be implemented (there's been some talk in a similar fashion with respect to churning, hence). However, it might take some time before it'd be implemented, because it will probably not be high on the priority list.

Quote
Or am I missing something? Is it actually difficult to produce a transaction with say 1 input and 5 outputs?

That's actually possible currently. See my other post here.
500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: January 04, 2018, 05:34:43 PM
Do the inputs all have to come from the a single wallet?
And does monero-wallet-cli or the monero gui have an option for sending multiple outputs, like the pay-to-many function in electrum?

Yes, you can't use inputs from different wallets.

The CLI allows this, i.e., you can send to multiple recipients in the same transaction. Type "help" to see the specific instructions.
