just to make it explicitly clear because im always afraid:
I have run bitmonerod and simplewallet and created a wallet. then i receive some money.
if disaster happens and i lose this wallet, can i get my balance back with this electrum seed even if i don't have a backup of my wallet?
thanks
Correct. I'd advise to also backup the spendkey and viewkey, because in case there is something wrong with your seed you would always be able to restore your wallet from these keys. You can obtain the viewkey with the "viewkey" command and the spendkey with the "spendkey" command (both in simplewallet). If not clear, type "help" in simplewallet.

Is now a good time to buy XMR or do you guys think it will come down some and offer a better entry.
Chances are it will come down quite a bit after zcash promotion engine starts revving up. But will it be a good entry I don't know. Why would anybody think of buying zcash? Well, much for the same reason as buying monero. I think zcash will help spread the word about fungibility. I was thinking. For someone who wanted ultimate privacy, they could run their funds through every privacy centric crypto on the market. Their privacy would be a function of the strongest link in the chain not the weakest. So even if there are some concerns that zcash may have a few too many moving parts to offer true piece of mind it could have strong utility for the previously mentioned reason. Zcash could also be added as a sidechain to Monero. It would basically act as a mixer on top of an already fungible blockchain then. This provides, in my opinion, better privacy than Zcash itself, where you have fully transparent basecoins (basically Bitcoins) and the anonymous zerocoins.

Moneroaddress.org is simply a port of this Github repository. You can simply download the ZIP file from there, extract it, and use it on your own computer. It was made by MoneroMooo, who is currently the most active code contributor to Monero. If you want to verify the download (or use it offline), you can follow the steps in this guide. Note that this guide was made for securely generating an offline cold paper wallet, but is basically for the extremely paranoid. Alternatively, there is this tool to generate a paper wallet. This tool was made by core-team member luigi1111. If you have two machines that aren't both compromised by the same entity, you could use the "Ice Cold" method of his tool.
