481  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: December 08, 2021, 08:14:15 PM
Even though lakers won their matchup against the celtics yesterday, i still think that there is reason for concern.

It's clear that LeBron is slowing down in his 19th season and isn't the same player as a couple of years ago.

They'd only be able to win anything of Russ and AD steps up big time and don't hurt themselves which is a huge ask.

I thought LeBron looked amazing in that game.  Russ was doing pretty good as well.  Between the two of them they absolutely owned the first and third quarters.  I think AD is still a problem though.  He plays like he's 10 years older than he is and I think injuries are going to be a problem for the rest of his career.  If I were managing the team, I would seriously be considering trading AD while he still has a high value and LeBron is still able to win championships.  It may sound crazy, but I would be calling up the sixers and seeing about a Russ/AD for Embid/Simmons trade...  It's criminal that they're going to blame the coach and fire him instead.

I'm not denying the brilliance of Lebron and Russ in that particular game.

However just in aggregate, Lebron has regressed (as he should) quite drastically compared to his prime, and Russ perhaps even more so given his younger age.

AD as you said is so inefficient it's not funny. You touch him once, and his body crumbles. It's truly a shame as he has such talent.
482  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin resistance and support price on: December 08, 2021, 07:54:30 PM
I actually think that the support at $50k is quite weak right now.

It is obvious that the bearish sentiment has been piling on for the past few weeks and that is completely expected given the halving cycles of BTC.

Just don't panic and continue to DCA because the bull run will resume sooner or later.

484  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: 59 BTC around $ 3,352,000 stolen from hot wallet by Bitcoin atm Manufacturer on: December 03, 2021, 10:12:27 PM
Hello!
i need advice,  i have three small  stores  where i sell Phone, TV,PC  and sell cash for bitcoin using a Pos Hardward.
One month ago, Someone wanted to buy my stores and he  asked me to sign a LOI, and after he made a deposit to my account . After one week he asked alot of papers , Bank statement and Hot wallet.

Two weeks ago ,he told me that he discovered that my hot wallet lost 59.788 bitcoin within 1721 transactions  between 2016 to 2020 and the scammer is the Bitcoin ATM manufacturer that sold me the POS terminals.

I contacted the company that sold me the POS , i shared with them the 1721 transactions with TXT iD
They replied and told me that they dont have access to server from 2016 to 2020.

What i should i do? can i sue these criminals for scamming 59 BTC or open an scam accusation againts them?

Sounds very sketchy to me.

If you are sure that these transactions aren't normal, then definitely get a lawyer and get advice from them as to what to proceed with. This is theft regardless of whether or not the transactions were carried on the bitcoin blockchain.

But I find it hard to believe (as others) that you would miss such a high amount of transactions.
485  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-11-27] Hillary Clinton Warns of China and Russia ‘Manipulating’ Crypto on: December 03, 2021, 09:57:51 PM
Hillary's points have all been quite ridiculous so far.

How can bitcoin even destabilize the dollar when it is imminent to collapse in the first place? And if a currency that is backed by the people and no one else was able to destabilize the dollar, perhaps there was something wrong with the fiat system to begin with?

Now the manipulation narrative. You can manipulate centralized fiats, but certainly not bitcoin's supply and demand.
486  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Economic Advantage on: December 03, 2021, 09:43:47 PM
I reside in a country where the rate of inflation is high with a corrupted political system and tenures that have stolen the collective wealth of the nation and have crippled the economy, a high percentage of unemployed graduates who have in the last few years discovered blockchain and have gotten involved in Bitcoin activities such as trading and investments. Indeed Bitcoin has given us the economic power to overcome the crashing economy of many nations. 100% economic independent.

The bull run does wonders.

But honestly, in the long run, bitcoin isn't going to be a panacea for every problem that we have in the economy.

It's not going to solve unemployment, world hunger, etc. at least not directly like the way that some people tend to push it as. It is however going to always be there as a viable store of value that shields your wealth from the government's arbitrary decisions.
487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: where are these cryptos going;!!! on: December 03, 2021, 09:24:07 PM
Of course.

If you asked the same question 5 years ago you would have been greeted with some blank stares. A lot of coins that were in the top 10 now weren't even close or even being around just half a decade ago.

Innovation is just starting up and there is going to be a whole lot more to come for sure. Don't get caught up on the large caps only.
488  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you think does this Cities have that we dont? on: December 03, 2021, 09:08:10 PM
It honestly depends and it's a bit counterproductive to try to pigeonhole each country into either innovative or not innovative.

The US is definitely still leading the way with adoption but other countries are catching up when it comes to crypto use.

Singapore and Australia are up and comers in the field in my opinion, but that could change in a heartbeat.
489  Economy / Economics / Re: Debt super-cycles and bitcoin on: December 03, 2021, 07:18:35 PM
When the debt crisis sets on from all the stimulus of COVID, BTC will flourish.

Quite frankly it is one of the only asset classes that is truly independent of any centralized entity, which is exactly what will be hit hardest in a debt crisis.

However, normal adoption will progress the network just fine and I don't really believe that we need an unwinding of all the debt for bitcoin to become mainstream.
490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will competitors defeat ETH due to ever-increasing gas fees? on: December 03, 2021, 06:20:00 PM
No.

While it is possible that some other token/coin comes along and replaces some of the functionality of ETH, I don't think that it is going to happen just because of high gas fees.

Fact is that ETH2.0 will bring significant cost savings to everyone and also realize the staking rewards that people have been raving about, and as such will lead to more adoption than anything else.
491  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we in 2017 again? How do you feel about the price chart today? on: December 02, 2021, 11:04:26 PM
I think the bubble has been burst for the $100k prediction this year because obviously, it won't be meet as far as I'm concern because we are not under time pressure. With that said, investors should not be disappointed after all, we all know that those are just predictions and it's not that accurate. Although at the beginning, people are very excited until last week when there is a news of a new variant of Covid-19 that really affected the whole financial market globally. So for me, I have said my mind that $100k is not achievable this year so I have to financially adjust as well.

Bubble hasn't burst. Not even close.

Yes, there are always going to be absurd predictions like a $1 million bitcoin or whatnot, but we haven't seen a large scale selloff.

The peak at $~70k is still holding and so is the support at $50k. This is nothing out of the ordinary.
492  Economy / Economics / Re: Life Insurance and Blockchain on: December 02, 2021, 08:12:43 PM
This is one of these areas that definitely could use the blockchain's immutability and transparency.

If people actually bothered to adopt blockchain technology in this field there will be a transformational increase in integrity of the system.

Heck, you'd probably be able to save quite a bit just off of audit fees too.
493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Free spin and wagering on: December 02, 2021, 07:14:13 PM
I have been having misunderstanding these two popular words in gambling and I can't hide my feelings and I need help understanding these two terminologies, most of the gambling sites always announced some bonuses and sometimes their offer to give free spin or free wagering. What are their differences and how to do their work independently.

Same thing.

However, you may be confused between free spins and wagering requirements.

Generally, casinos aren't just going to give out free cash so what they do is have a bunch of wagering requirements that are attached to your free spins that you must hit before you can withdraw any sum of funds. Given that you are talking about free spins, they are likely to be ridiculous multiples as well.
494  Economy / Speculation / Re: Massive amount of panic in TradFi markets…. on: December 02, 2021, 10:36:39 AM
I don't think that it's necessarily a panic?

It's just that people are realizing that these historically low interest rates won't last forever, and that's why stock multiples have dropped so much.

People are already buying the dip as well with Omicron being a bit clearer. It's nothing special really.
495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: coinmarketcap or coingecko on: December 02, 2021, 10:29:41 AM
Definitely Coinmarketcap.

It's been around for longer, has much better user interface, and is just generally more user-friendly.

I think that Coingecko does have a few more listed exchanges though so for microcaps you may find it easier to find exchanges with Coingecko. But those are the exceptions, not the rule.
496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: December 02, 2021, 04:06:19 AM
The Bucks vs Hornets was an intense game but Giannis in the last 5 seconds was unstoppable and managed to contest an easy layup that lead them to win the game by 2 points. They've been battling hard in the 4th quarter as their lead didn't reach double-digit because both teams are shooting well but at the end of the game, there will be only one winner so the lack of big man from Hornets cost them a lot this time cause no one can stop Giannis to get that easy layup.

The Ball brothers are also really feeling it now.

Giannis is clutch, man. In this day and age where everyone seems to only be defending the shot, he can get a lot of easy buckets just like how he got the game winner this time round.

Heck, the Hornets were nearly able to hit a half-court to save the game as well. Wild ending.
497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: December 02, 2021, 02:44:31 AM
I couldn't catch up with any of the pre-game bets, and all that's left is the Clippers vs Kings..

I'll be taking the Clippers -5.5 with the hope that they'd bonce back from their loss to Pelicans the last time.

I wouldn't take the Clippers -5.5.

They are without PG so it'll be a very tough ask for them to perform. It will be a close game so I don't think that the spread is worth it.

Kings are a good team, Buddy Hield and De'Aaron Fox are both due for a breakout.
498  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bonus of over 1000 Euros stuck behind wager wall, fml on: December 02, 2021, 12:17:43 AM
OP, I'd be very, very skeptical.

Casinos obviously don't like people winning off no-deposit bonuses and I doubt that they would be particularly happy about paying out any bonus in general. So they try to make the process as difficult as possible for you.

Use your common sense. I'd just let it go instead of depositing anything because it could be the case that the site is a complete fraud and your deposit gets held.
499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does Signature campaign increase ICO credibility? I see few good ICOs recently on: December 02, 2021, 12:00:54 AM
Not really to be honest.

There are a lot of sig campaign for absolute garbage ICOs that have ended up going bust.

There are a few good ones as well though, don't get me wrong. For instance Enjincoin or Antshares (NEO now). But that is the exception, not the rule. You are just as likely to find good projects looking through Coinmarketcap and picking some random coin.
500  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: December 01, 2021, 11:56:03 PM
That game was garbage.  I don't usually say the refs determined the outcome but they literally told Julius Randall that because of his size he doesn't get the same foul calls as smaller guys.  Seriously?  How can something be a foul for one and not a foul for someone else depending on body size lol.  That was terrible.  Zebras got to clean that up it's a bad look on them...

Well, that's something that you've got to take into consideration as a player.

Refs aren't going to change the way they call games for decades just because of one player.

The Nets won the game fair and square and outplayed the Knicks. It's as simple as that.
