481  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hosting companies that don't ask for KYC? on: December 27, 2023, 09:14:11 PM
Until now I didn't knew that hosting providers asking for KYC is a thing, especially when it comes providers who accept Bitcoin. But it looks that Hetzner isn't accepting crypto as payment, so, that's a bit different case. From what I noticed, hosts who accept crypto gives users more freedom than these who only work with fiat. From my own experience, I used Namecheap and Hostinger and didn't even thought that they can ask for KYC. But there is no guarantee that they won't ask for it in future. Probably nobody won't be interest in small personal blogs, but if you will be big fish with successful e-commerce website, you may get asked for more information.

They do not ask you to do KYC, but this does not mean that they can ask you in the future. These companies have legal business and manage their servers from known places and will try to avoid problems with authorities, so they record all the data about you and may ask you for more data.
Yeah, regulations always changes and usually not in good direction and we're getting less and less anonymous eventually. Like few years ago who could have thought that mixers will be banned from Bitcointalk one day.
482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Belgian Jupiler league 23/24 - discussion on: December 27, 2023, 02:42:25 PM
Royale survived yesterday against Brugge, with a red card in last minute
but still, 9 point lead in front of Anderlecht should be solid to have first point prior to Championship group, although it will be halved in Championship, and all other teams will have their fair chance to reach the title
Saw this game yesterday. When goalkeeper got red card, they had no substitutions remaining, so, one of their players took gloves. But there wasn't much time remaining and just one free kick from Brugge which didn't even ended with shot.
9 points looks safe, but with points halved it's always tricky, I don't really like this format.
And got burned my bet on Genk - Antwerp game. Had BTTS, but Genk smashed opponents 3:0.
483  Other / Meta / Re: Forum growth on: December 26, 2023, 07:36:27 PM
I'm not sure how such idea can come to someone's head. Bitcointalk isn't gambling platform and they don't make such lotteries. But if you would agree to sponsor it with some nice money, maybe theymos would consider such offer. But now, no. Bitcointalk now don't even sell ad spot on website anymore and they don't make any money at all. So, making such giveway wouldn't be smart move. But even without such marketing tricks Bitcointalk aren't struggling to attract new users.
Closest thing to what you're asking for is Bitcointalk community awards, but you have to do something significant and get nominated and win.
484  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BPIP] Bitcointalk Public Information Project [Back in Action] on: December 26, 2023, 06:54:08 PM
Maybe I missed something, but why BPIP can be accessed through BPIP.org? You have to click enter button and then you're redirected to BPIP.org/a11. At first I thought that something doesn't works there when I saw empty page until I noticed Enter button.

Thanks for raising this question. This user offens everyone who don't agree with him and then pretends that he is victim. I think he have some mental problems, but it's not an excuse. Such things can't be tolerated. But I'm not sure what can be done. Banning him would be an option, but I'm not sure about it. During my time here I saw worse and more annoying trolls, but I don't think that they got banned. I doubt that he earned to be permabanned, but he deserves at least temporrary ban to cooldown.

Well he also is the only person to give me a negative trust.

his reason is I am stupid.
You've been here for more than 11 years, you're one of the most active forum members and only now you got your first enemy? What I can say - impreesive.

Edited to add: Have you seen the fireworks in the port of Feodosia, Crimea. Either they are celebrating Christmas or something has blasted an Iranian weapons supply ship in port. Maybe they are doing a cross-regional event with the ice-breaker nuclear ship in fire in Murmansk.
Fireworks were really impressive, but it's a bit too early for New Year celebrations. It's obvious that something more than just ship detonated, probably it was full of something explosive, so, version of Iranian drones and weapons looks possible. Russia announced that Novocherkassk ship was damaged, but when you see photos after attack, it's obvious  that ship was fully destroyed:
https://www.pravda.com.ua/eng/news/2023/12/26/7434630/
And offcourse, immediately after attack Russians posted about two Ukrainian Su-24 shot down, how else they can minimize significance of their loss in public.
BTW, it's symbolic that ship was destroyed when Russians marked their air defence day. So, either they were too drunk to work or Russian air defence showed that they hav no analogue in the world
487  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: December 25, 2023, 07:11:12 PM
Submitted my predictions and it was really difficult. Not big fan of questions related with MU. You always have to think what new bottom they will hit this time and how long it will continue. And sometimes I give them benefit of doubt and then often regret such decision.
This will be so called 6 points game because I'm facing fellow @slaman29 who is also in relegation zone, so, we both need this win as fresh air and draw isn't good result for none of us.
488  Other / Meta / Re: Has anyone here received bitcointalk phishing emails? on: December 25, 2023, 07:02:55 PM
But as always if get an Email with a Link or to confirm something where you have to click just do an research first before click.
Sometimes the Bad Boys who are sending this mails make it looks legit.
Yeah, these phishing emails often looks legit, very difficult to spot difference, especially for less experienced eye. But personally, usually I don't even oopen such email. Here comes common sense and you realize that exchange, bank or something just wouldn't send such kind of messages and they often warn their users about it. There is just few cases when I open links in email messages I get. When after registration/login attempt website ask to click link that was send to email for confirmation.
489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The European Super League on: December 25, 2023, 06:34:32 PM
I was against it when they announced initially and I'm against renewed project. We have something very similar in European basketball, called Euroleague. Yeah, it's very interesting to watch, but it's closed league basically. And when rest of clubs can't get into it, gap between them and elite is getting bigger and bigger.
System that UEFA have is almost perfect IMO. Even tiny club from Gibraltar can qualify to group stage. And whole competition format is almost perfect IMO. But it's last season with current format, next season we will have new format, though, I still didn't figured out fully how it will work. And I don't like that UEFA fixing things that aren't broken, but it's probably their reaction to ESL.
Anyway, seems that ESL have only 2 supporters remaining, Real and Barca, so, future of project is uncertain.
490  Other / Meta / Re: Has anyone here received bitcointalk phishing emails? on: December 24, 2023, 08:46:17 PM
I guess that I received all kinds of phishing emials, even from services where I don't have account. Exchanges, gambling websites, banks, PayPal and everything else, now I don't remember everything. I think that my email got in one of these huge databases of leaked emails and someone sold to spread spam. But I think that I never received phishing emails related with Bitcointalk. Or I just didn't saw it because I don't check my spam folder often.

I don't know, but there is no real reason to steal a BTT account. All the account can be used for is fraud, participating in signature campaigns, and publishing phishing links, all of which can be overcome by not trusting any user and asking to sign a message as soon as you feel that there is something strange in the account. especially in the case of lending.
2FA is to enhance privacy, and since it is possible to create an account with a fake email (meaning you do not receive a welcome message), you must use an email that you can access to obtain the 2FA code.
Nowadays I don't see threads about hacked accounts often, but few years ago it was daily thing, sometimes several such topics appeared in one day. If there wouldn't be reason to steal Bitcointalk accounts, probably we wouldn't see so many accounts getting hacked. There is so many cases when hacked accounts were used for signature campaigns. Like when user wake ups after long inactivity and starts posting in language that he never used before. Or making scams offcourse. Yes, many things can be prevented by asking user to sign a message from staked address, but not many are doing it. Especially when dealing with old high ranked member with good reputation.
491  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: December 24, 2023, 08:01:03 PM
Ruzzian vloggers are saying that F-16 have arrived in Ukraine, which could be true, but it would be quite instantly recognisable for the Ruzzian military, so either they are keeping secret not to scare their own pilots and troops or - more likely explanation - Ukraine moved a Patriot near Kherson, so that it can reach well behind the enemy lines.

As I said a few posts ago, whatever it is, it is hunting the Ruzzian planes.
As much as I would like to be wrong, I don't think that F-16 arrived to Ukraine already. So far I didn't saw any signs that F-16 could be already in Ukraine. Otherwise I guess it would be much more noise from Russians. Something similar when they got HIMARS, Storm Shadow, ATACMS, but probably at much larger scale. And I guess Ukraine isn't that close yet from actually getting it.
While writting this post, news about another jet shot down, this time Su-30 started to spread on Ukrainian Telegram channels, it happened in Odesa direction. Waiting for more details.
EDIT I see several posts on Telegram telling that Russia destroyed 6, yes you heard it right, 6 F-16 in Odesa. Unfortunately I can't find who posted this initially. But destroying jets beforeUkraine acutally got it is serious, even for Russia lol.

Well...

If you are looking for Gifts, sorry to say that I can't do it.

In the other hand, if someone wants to do something like that, I suggest an amount not superior to 0.013 BTC here:

Guys, just friendly reminder to you with quote from Bitcointalk rules:

I know that Freebitco.in made BTC giveway once, but it was so many years ago. I'm wondering how some people still managed to dig up it and think that's still active.
P.S. Who wouldn't like to get some free BTC on Christmas Eve Cheesy.

This Christmas won't be happy for me at all as I sufferred  another defeat. Fenerbahche didn't won, Istanbul derby ended 0:0 and I continue to stay in relegation zone. Another difficult season for me.
Happy holidays for everyone and don't forget to make your picks. During celebration it's easy to forget what day of the week now is, I realized it's Sunday now only after getting notification about next week questions.

Well... Fenerbahce couldn't give me a win for Christmas so I have lost this round. Too bad as I got six correct answers, but darxiaomi got seven. Congratulations man! Enjoy your win.
Damn, getting 6 points and still lose game, it should be painful.
494  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: December 23, 2023, 08:39:22 PM
Yesterday Ukraine destroyed 3(!) fighter-bombers just in one day.
https://t.me/mozhemobyasnit/16777
It happened in Souuth direction and most likely these jets were show down with Patriot system. If it's true, it means that Ukraine moved one of their Patriots close to front line. They have 3 in total, one is in Kyiv, another one in Odesa. It's biggest losses of Russia in the air since spring when Su-34, Su-35 and 2 Mi-8 helicopters were shot down in Bryansk oblast, also with Patriot. And offcourse, Prigozhin's mutiny when they lost several helicopters and one Il-22M.
I's all impressive, but we only can think what Ukraine could do if West supply weapons not just to keep defence, but also attack occupants...
495  Other / Meta / Re: Merry Christmas to the Forum on: December 23, 2023, 08:13:37 PM
It's a bit early, but I guess that during Christmas many won't be here, so, probably better to send greetings in advance. Merry upcoming Christmas to everyone here! Stay healthy, stay safe, have peaceful sky above your head, this is what is most important, rest is secondary thing. And don't forget that Christmas isn't just about gifts. It's also about spending time with your family, people that you love most, shwing them attention. Wish you to have some nice time and experience during holidays.
Merry Christmas to everyone!
496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 23/24 European basketball discussion: Euroleague/BBL/ACB/LegaA/LNB/TBL.. on: December 23, 2023, 08:04:04 PM
agree, most away wins were expected, but to see all six away wins is pretty rare

Zalgiris had good chances to win over Barca, but only 7 points in last quarter was not enough to close the deal
Baskonia won against Efes, and that was biggest surprise yesterday, although PAO win against Milano is also surprising
Yeah, all 6 away teams winning their games is something what yoiu can't see often, but there were no huge upsets - either they were big favorites or it's 50/50 game without clear favorite.
Efes - Baskonia was good game, leading team changed many times, but Efes had poor 4th quarter, letting opponents to score 30 points.
Now we have 8 teams with identical 9-7 record between 4 and 10 places what is best proff which shows how competetive Euroleague is. There is probably 3 teams which can be rulled out from fight for playoff/play-in spots - Alba, ASVEL and Zalgiris.
497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Darts] 2024 PDC World Darts Championship 🎯180🎯 on: December 23, 2023, 07:48:24 PM
I see that nobody isn't talking about Littler. He is just 16 years old, before tournament probably nobody didn't even knew his name, but now this teenager is already in third round what is impressive. He beat veteran Andrew Gilding in 2nd round, next he will face Matt Campbell and have good chance to go further.

What a loss of Van Den Bergh! He was 2-0 up in sets, Hempel was in bad shape and not throwing good and even the commentators thought this would be a walkover. Suddenly Hempel scored better and Van Den Bergh missed way too many doubles and eventually even lost. Also watched the match of van Barneveld, one of my favorite players. He looked in pretty good shape, was good at the doubles so hopefully he can get far this tournament.
Wasn't able to watch darts yesterday, but from what I see, it's incredible how Van Den Bergh lost and Hempel  made comeback. Winning first 2 sets, having 3 match darts and still lose the game, sounds amazing.
498  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2023/2024 on: December 22, 2023, 07:05:57 PM
Did anyone watch Real Madrid match against Alaves?
I was busy working, but I see it was much harder win than I expected in stoppage time, but Real now have 7 points more than Girona.
Didn't watched game in full, more like moments while jumping between channels. It was tough game, especially after Nach got red card and it even looked that draw wouldn't be bad result for them.

Few weeks ago I was thinking the same, but I am not sure anymore.
Girona was very close to win last match, and Real had lucky win with bad performance, and they have big matches in Champions League and Super Cup.
If Bellingham is healthy and fit they have much better chances for title.
As much as I like Girona, I don't believe that they can win title, I doubt that depth and quality of their squad is enough to fight with Real. But their chances to get into Champions league is great. It's incredible what transition they made in few years. IIRC, it's just their second season after return to La Liga. I actually started to like them before it was cool. Followed them a bit when they played in Segunda and was really sad when they lost promotion playoff final few years ago.
499  Other / Politics & Society / Re: A case to exclude Hungary from the EU on: December 22, 2023, 06:42:08 PM
Hungary might be not only problem, Slovakia with new pro-Russian government is another one who is going to support to Ukraine. Not clear with Netherlands, they elected pro-Russian Geert Wilders, but looks that he is truggling to form a coalition. You'r reight about Hungary, they don't contribute much to EU, butthey're taking lot of money from EU and don't see any problem there.
I doubt it's possible exclude Hungary from EU somehow. But I think problem lies in different place. It's veto right. And it's not just EU, but all international organizations in general, especially UN who turned into complete joke. Decisions should be made by majority of votes, not with consensus of all members. It's not just about this war, but in genral about everything. Veto right makes taking decision so complicated, it can paralyze work of institutions and probably this issue is going to rise in future.

Didn't expect that Wright would loose but he played extremely bad, his average was only 84 and he missed a lot of doubles also. Will be an interesting world championship as there is not 1 clear favorite for the title. People as Price, Van Gerwen, Anderson, Smith all stand a chance in winning the title again.
For me Peter Wright is one of the most fun players to watch, but yesterday he had very poor game and with such averages it would be difficult to win. Williams deserved to win, while Wright got eliminated early like last year.
Currently Scott Williams leading vs Danny Noppert (7th World Ranking), so we may have another big surprise.
Agree that there is no clear favorite to win this year
