481  Economy / Economics / Re: finding investors on: April 09, 2019, 01:59:47 PM
ICOs are still a viable way to raise capital for crypto projects.  Teams are still pulling in millions of dollars for their startups.  The biggest thing is advertising, you need to attack all platforms with an aggressive marketing budget if you want to see real results.
482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Any chance market bounce back to where it was on: April 09, 2019, 01:55:07 PM
For 2 months, market is not consistent. In the past, I have seen worse but the market bounced back well. The current scenario is so weird for me. Almost all the currencies, I have been holding has fallen to where it was when I bought. Can the market ever be back? Im a part time miner by the way.

Since bitcoin is already finding its way back to greenfields, i assume that the rest of the altcoins will follow its way knowing that some speculates that the altcoin's value is based on bitcoin. March and April has broken down the record and if it will continues, we will me landing on the moon this December again.

A lot of these smaller altcoins are completely dead especially most of these ICO tokens.  Most tokens don't even serve a real purpose and were just created for a quick money grab.  The top coins are doing very well this past month though.
483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can We Find Satoshi? on: April 09, 2019, 01:45:54 PM
The question is, does satoshi want to be found? We actually have no clue about the true identity of satoshi. I guess it is his intention to remain anonymous and it is better if we keep it that way.

Satoshi Nakamoto who was my friend passed a few years ago.

Can you provide any proof or are you just making ridiculous claims?
484  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Mental health awareness friends on: April 08, 2019, 02:08:35 PM
The truth is that a lot of mental illness comes from lack of money.  As long as the current economic system reigns supreme there will be a huge segment of the population stuck in real poverty.  Financial stress causes constant stress to your brain until you reach a breaking point.
485  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Creating strong password. on: April 08, 2019, 02:02:56 PM
How do you even remember these passwords then if so many cap and lower case letters?
By using a trusted password manager. One strong password to hold many other strong passwords.

Repeating the same password is dumb, and using a weak password is also dumb. So that's (IMO) the best solution.

I use strong passwords on different websites,  I do this without a password manager and I remember everything just fine.  I find a long string of words similar to an electrum seed to be the easiest option for me.  Just make sure you really use randomized words.
486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ukraine - man arrested for stealing bitcoins and altcoins on: April 08, 2019, 01:54:27 PM
Working at an exchange and he was only able to steal $26,000?  That is nothing compared to what these bigger exchanges are scamming.  Why does it seem like the big scammers always get away with it?
487  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What do you prefer - Centralized or Decentralized Exchange? on: April 08, 2019, 01:41:28 PM
I agree with mjglqw's view.  Decentralized exchanges haven't been able to capture much of the market as of yet.  I have gotten sick of all the exit scams centralized exchanges have been pulling so I am really looking forward for more decentralized exchanges.
488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH to 200$ ? on: April 08, 2019, 01:37:51 PM
$200 is still a very low price compared to the all time high.  I fully expect bitcoin to hit $10k and ethereum to hit $500 soon.  This doesn't mean that we won't see some big dips on the way up this time.
489  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New Cryptocurrency Calculator on: April 08, 2019, 01:31:05 PM
Looks good but mining calculators are deceiving . What I mean is that new people don't know that difficulty will keep rising especially when new hardware gets released.  They get a false sense of what their projected ROI is when its actually much longer.
490  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Defend the Empire and enjoy the benefits! on: April 08, 2019, 01:25:24 PM
Even if these bots are successful the profitability will shrink to near zero if enough people start using them.  I still don't believe any bot is really that successful being sold or else the creator would simply use it themselves to generate profits.
491  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: April 08, 2019, 01:19:41 PM
Magic won over Celtics - 116-108. Solidifying their position at 7th spot (tied with Nets 41-40). It was a comeback win by Magic erasing a 13-point first-half deficit. But obviously, even with that lost, Boston remains at 4th spot.

Magic deserves a win and in the playoffs, I don't know how many coach changes they have in the last 6 years but I'm sure their fans is very happy seeing them clinching the 7th spot.
After a long 7 years and x number of coach changes the Magic are assured to be back in the playoffs. Thanks to Aaron Gordon for his 40 points and 14 rebounds, he just showed up for this must win game for them. Is coach Vogel deserving to be the coach of the year for what he have done with the Magic? In my opinion, i think so.

I remember the 2009 playoffs very well when the Magic defeated the Cavaliers to advance to the NBA finals vs the Lakers.  That team was a real force with Dwight Howard at center and their high percentage 3 point shooters.  In basketball you can easily turn your team around with only one superstar player.
492  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: short term, cheap btc cloud mining??? on: April 08, 2019, 01:09:17 PM
Cloud mining isn't always an outright scam but they are ripping you off.  Just buy btc directly with your money if you want to make a profit.  If btc mining was really profitable for these companies they would be mining themselves without selling contracts.
493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Smerits Hodl on: April 03, 2019, 02:43:28 PM
Many of the high ranks with a lot of smerit don't have all day to spend on this forum and search for quality posts.  It would help if we had more merit sources to focus on all sub sections because altcoin discussion doesn't seem to get much love.
494  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC now above $5k, seem like its not just a pump? on: April 03, 2019, 02:34:47 PM
$5k seems nice but you have to remember btc still needs to 4x to get back to the previous all time high.  There is still a lot of room for growth and buying in currently is still a very good choice.  Don't be surprised if we get a few more pullbacks on the run up to $20k this time.
495  Economy / Speculation / Re: THE FOMO! on: April 02, 2019, 03:23:22 PM
Talking about FOMO, I have a friend who messaged me this morning to say bought a couple of thousand dollars worth at around $4,900, and is upset that it has already lost some value. When I asked him what he had been doing for the last 4 months of sideways movement, he said he'd been "waiting for the right time". What made him think that after a pump of 20% in an hour was suddenly "the right time" is beyond me.

I thought we would correct a bit harder than we have, and I still think we might over the next day or two.

That is just the newbie's mindset, they are scared to buy when they see red.  This is why we see this crazy parabolic rises.  $4900 is still a low price anyways, when we reach a new all time high he will be very happy with his purchase.
496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Strategy to overcome losses .. on: April 02, 2019, 03:16:51 PM
Sometimes you just need to know when to cut your losses and move on.  Like the legendary song,
The Gambler", know when to fold em and know when to hold em.  The biggest mistake gamblers make is when they constantly keep trying to win back their losses and believe their next winning streak is right around the corner.
497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Promoting Gambling on: April 02, 2019, 03:03:45 PM
Nothing wrong with shining some light on the real problems in gambling.  Not everything is roses and not everyone will become rich overnight.

Gambling should be treated as just a side hobby that costs money.  People take it too far and thing it will be some sort of wealth creator in their lives.
498  Economy / Economics / Re: Time for investment on: April 02, 2019, 02:56:16 PM
Top 20 coins is always a good place to start.

Before you start investing i'd recommend you to read alot! Articles, charts etc. (Remember bitcointalk is the best place to start  Grin )

Here is what i did when i start:
I found a top 20 coin, found a coin with reasonable price(From my pow), and started reading about it.

Read read read - read some more - think about investing then read some more  Tongue

The top coins are fine and should make up the bulk of your portfolio but the real insane gains are found on the low marketcap coins.  These are the ones that have a real chance of going 100x or higher but its a very risky thing to do.
499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Gambling altcoins - are they fundamentally undervalued? on: April 02, 2019, 02:51:48 PM
There is no reason for gambling altcoins to even exist.  People can already use the established coins if they want to gamble and they won't have to fear that their token will crash overnight because of low liquidity.
500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: THE TRUTH on: April 02, 2019, 02:44:48 PM
The poor are not poor because they are born badly, but because they lack courage and determination. And can accept new things not much. For blockchains, mining, new things still need to be popularized.

That just isn't true.  Some people are born with extreme conditions that are nearly impossible to get out of.  You can't just have courage and determination and become wealthy, don't be an idiot.
