481  Other / Off-topic / Re: What wallets do you use? on: July 05, 2017, 08:34:31 PM
I am microearner and I also use online wallet only, I cash out my coins oftenly or spend it for gambling, so I don't care too much about high level of protection. In my wallet money just come and go. I think online wallet is the best option for people same kind like me.
482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is Not A Democracy. Then What It Is? on: July 05, 2017, 08:33:31 PM
Bitcoin is following for basic principals of the democracy:
1. Equality. Of course, this ideal is fully presented in the Bitcoin Protocol. Unlike Bank money, which, if desired, can be subjected to censorship (as it was with the banking blockade of Wikileaks), bitcoin payments are completely impossible to censor, since these payments do not require a mediator, and literally consist of cryptographically protected information – pure analogue of freedom of speech if you want.
2. Popular sovereignty. Bitcoin literally exists because of the consent of its users; if they don't agree with the rules of the Protocol, they will simply not use it. And this use, in turn, is what gives value to currency. In the end, users of Bitcoin would be nothing more than a source. Moreover, Bitcoin is not just ruled with our consent – it exists with our consent.
3. Autonomy. It can be argued that the organizational structure of programming open-source is certainly the best way for ordinary people to develop their abilities to organize themselves.
483  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When did you start gambling? (Because of BCT Promotion?) on: July 05, 2017, 10:12:32 AM
I have started to gamble online together with the time when I opened bitcoin to myself. That was like two years ago and I was searching for a saurce of some extra money. I found bitcoin and began to make some coins on faucets, Aliens and ect. But it didn't bring me some seriouse profit. Then I opened for myself online gambling for bitcoins and I began to play poker on Betcoin.ag. I count myself good in this game and two years ago there were not so many people in that as today. So, prizes were bigger and chances to win too. I remember it was just like 80 of us in a turnament, if to compare with today - today it's hudreds and even thousands of prople in one turnament.
I continue to play poker, but I didn't win something good for a long time already  Smiley
484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has anyone ever tried medicine to control impulsive gambling? on: July 05, 2017, 10:01:38 AM
I haven't such kind of problem, so i cannot reply on your question. But did you heard about "Block"? This is something as hypnosis after wich you stay away from gambling. I heard that it's very tough for psyche, but really helps to stay away from gambling.
485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Billions stolen from South Korean Bitcoin exchange on: July 04, 2017, 08:01:00 PM
I expected such great hack will drop the price for bitcoin and other crypto at the same time, but i don't see the price has changed. In the past such hackings affected exactly like that. What's the difference now?
486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MOST COMMMON METHODS HACKERS AND SPAMMERS USE TO STEAL BITCOINS on: July 04, 2017, 05:26:21 PM
Stealing is stealing. Most important advice to secure Bitcoin - don't keep it on a computer which is connected to the Internet (iPhone ap is ok for wallets that don't hold too much btc)
I think that this apps are the most not safe places to hold bitcoins, because of smartphones are stolen every day or just get lost or forgotten by the accident, so if a person will have someone's phone in hands he easily can open the wallet and send bitcoins in other place.
487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When will ico bubble burst? on: July 04, 2017, 03:56:53 PM

488  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-06-29] The Online Porn Industry Continues to Adopt Bitcoin for Payments on: July 03, 2017, 05:38:45 PM
It's not a news that porn sites accepting bitcoin for payment. This topic was on the forum several times already and I don't know why it attracts so many attention. 489  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin accepted at New York pre-school on: July 03, 2017, 02:06:46 PM
"The head of two Montessori schools in New York won't let parents pay by credit card - but he is accepting Bitcoin."

Bitcoin accepted at New York pre-school.

This is something really positive thing that bitcoin is being adopted where is a tech-savvy next generation. I am sure in next few years we are going to see such things happening in most of the countries.

There is a school in India which started accepting bitcoin way back in 2016.

This School Accepts Bitcoin !.

I don't know how to react on this news. From the one side it's good for bitcoin mass adoption, but from the other side the head of the school makes parents to choose: pay with cash all in once or pay with bitcoin, I know the education in the USA in not cheap and not everybody got the idea of bitcoin yet, so, I suppose people will chose another school or will have to get what digital currencies are in a short period. Am I wrong?
490  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Xapo Wallet Fees on: July 03, 2017, 01:58:20 PM
What are blockchain.info fees? Also If I use offline wallet I have to pay fees when sending transactions or nope? I am not really a professional on this though
Regular fee on Blockchain.info is 0.0005 BTC (transaction takes 1+ h with this option), for faster transaction I don't know, because I've never used it.
Using offline wallet like Electrum will not make you to avoid fees, don't even hope for that. Better see on it's main page what the fee politic they have and everything will be clear to you. Good luck!
491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where are we going with cryptocurrency? on: July 02, 2017, 02:41:34 PM
Not much. None of the crypto is applicable for daily use and to an average joe, it is still easier to use fiat than crypto. If anything, the only users that can be added are gamblers and speculators or traders.
That's right, but it's only beginning. Who knew about bitcoin five years ago? Only nerds. And today's price and bitcoin based project attract thousands of new users every day. Crypto-currencies are in demand and that fact makes the price to grow.
492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is BTC only for middle and upper economic class? on: July 02, 2017, 02:29:21 PM
I don't know where are you from, but it just can't be true to only middle and upper classes. Where from you took such information and percent?
I can understand that bitcoin is not acceptable for poor people who has not a computer or a smartphone, because of you can't work with bitcoin without the Internet. And that fact that under the middle class doesn't know about bitcoin can be explained with that fact that today bitcoin is not so known in general. mostly everything is on English and not all mass media talk about bitcoin.
493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it even possible to regulate bitcoins? on: July 02, 2017, 11:22:28 AM
No, it's impossible, just like it's impossible to regulate the Internet. Decentralized things cannot be controlled by a central unit.

BUT... there's another thing governments can do. Make these decentralized stuff not so harmful for them, devoiding them of all their rebellious message. If Bitcoin is considered just an investment tool, they have no need to regulate it. Why? because people just exchange their Bitcoins to USD and then withdraw to their bank accounts. So, banks and governments still make money from it and have no reason to ban or be against Bitcoin.
It's clear that banks and governments want to be involved in bitcoin's circulation, cause of it brings a lot of money. Today we cash out our bitcoins and pay some % to a bank, but later when bitcoin will be acceptable in the most places and banks will not be needed as mediator, they will create something new to not loos such source of income.
494  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-06-30] Asian Luxury Travel Agency Smiling Albino to Start Accepting BTC on: July 01, 2017, 08:52:39 PM
If more travel agencies start to accept BTC it could be both good and bad thing. It will allow people with falsified passports to travel easily, but it supports growth of Bitcoin
How it could allow to people with falsified passports to travel?
Bitcoin is going to be payment instrument for a trip. I doubt that falsified subjects will be able to travel like you say. So, there is nothing bad in that. I think that will help bitcoin a lot and to other crypto-currencies in general.
495  Economy / Economics / Re: crypto is the future, make money of it on: July 01, 2017, 02:21:19 PM
Crypto-currencies are our present already. We would call them as our future like five years ago. Today crypto entered our life and day by day they are going more deeply. I think soon it will be something normal and ordinary to all educated people to use crypto-currencies in everyday life. Now we have to hold the most perspective ones to make real profit in two-three years.

498  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-06-29] Valenok Becomes First Restaurant in Moscow to Accept Bitcoin on: June 30, 2017, 09:26:52 AM
I thought burger King was the first restaurant that began to accept bitcoin in Russia.
Well, as expected Bitcoin and crypto-currencies are developing and spreading in the capital of Russia, but I would like to see some changes in this area in regions, but I think the current situation is normal tend for all countries.
499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Afraid of August One? on: June 30, 2017, 08:25:23 AM
I think it will be the another ship to the moon, please prepare your ticket and suit, just waiting for the Segwit comes.  Cheesy
Many people are promising doubling of the price and that's just like a minimum what may happen.
My opinion is the price will grow, cause of all this agio around SegWit and price for crypto-currencies. But my expectation is SegWit will solve the problem of slow transactions and huge fees, because the number of people is just growing and the situation doesn't becoming better.
500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is ICO ? on: June 30, 2017, 08:06:34 AM
ICO means "Initial Coin Offering" when you're joining on ico you need a btc for investment but don't worry you can earn a huge of bitcoins by joining this project, It means by which funds are rised for a new crypto venture, Early investors are usually motivated to buy the coins in the hope that the project becomes successful after it launches which could translate to a higher coin value ICO are similar to Crowdfunding and it deals with supporters that are keen to invest in a new project.
Too optimistic explain about what ICO is. That's correct that you invest BTC (some accept and ETH plus) to a project, mostly it's new crypto-currency or a token. Actually with this invest you buy this new currency with a cheap price and now you are holder of this new thing about which nobody knows yet (in a world wide). And now here - will this currency will pump and will be popular as BTC and ETH and ect., or will the price will stay kind of frozen on the market for years, because of nobody interested in it (Startcoin is the brightest example).
