1061  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: $1000 is on the way on: January 01, 2017, 10:27:57 PM
We finally passed it. Bitcoin is finally over a thousand dollars again. It's a good way to start the year, I believe the holders were waiting a long time for that to happen. Those who were patient were certainly rewarded, and it's probably just the beginning...

1002 $ right now! New topics about reaching 1k finally are just popping up on the forum, people are very excited, this is what we have been waiting for. The ones who have patience are always rewarded in the end, and all bitcoin workers are now a little richer (and some much more then little).
I see people already have next target, my recommendations are to stay patience, that will eventually come, let's hold this for a while first.
1062  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Investing in Cloud Mining Still Profitable ?? on: January 01, 2017, 01:01:55 PM
Hello everyone,

I want to invest in Genesis-Mining, I want to buy 15 TH/s (power of Bitmain S9)
can anyone give me details of my profit from this ?

Regards,

Bitcoin Boy.

At least you "MUST" read this, the honest review by the merkle.

http://themerkle.com/genesis-mining-review/

That already tells a lot for us. You can underline the conclusion has made by him at the contract correction. It doesn't matter legit or not, but the shady contract has made it looks like silly site.

"crazyivan from bitcointalk described genesis-mining best:

Its not a scam in a classic way where they will run away with your money, no, they re 100% legit and they will provide everything they state. The only problem is one cannot make money, their products re simply that bad. By investing in genesis-mining all you do is provide them an interest free loan for them to expand their farms and that is all."

CrazyIvan from bitcointalk gave us good explanation what is going on in genesis mining company. I never tried investing in online mining sites, after I saw here what kind of experience people from here have on this sites, I said to myself that I will not try that ever.
More I read about them, more sure I`m in my decision about them. I will not give them my hard earned money just like that, and to wait all my life them to return that same money too me. CrazyIvan described them, they cannot make money, they are just collecting money from everyone. I dont understand how they survived so much, who are the people that invest in this sites and wait for ROI that will never come.

1063  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Fails to Break $1000 in 2016 on: December 31, 2016, 08:21:10 AM
As per title. Don't expect fireworks tonight.

this is not even a glass half full/empty situation! bitcoin has gone up 120% from the start of this year, so i am going to let that final 5% to $1000 go it is too small to matter.

Pooya87 made a good point here, why people are greedy? And why people are anxious to get to 1000 so fast?
You are right about glass metaphor, this is not that situation cause we dont know is it a glass, bottle, or some barrel. We dont know where is half, when will be full. Waiting is only way we to find out possibilities of bitcoin.

1064  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 15btc transaction fee, big mistake on: December 30, 2016, 11:15:09 PM

First I couldnt believe, then I have read all the comments, and I still cant believe in this fees. This must be some kind of manipulation like Cjmols mentioned on the beginning of this discussion.

well there's this reddit post but that's it. no refund and no owner requesting it (in public, at least.).

I wasn't even around at that time. can't find discussion about it with the owner posting in it and requesting a refund, but the address the fee was returned to wasn't a part of that tx so I think they did request it.
interesting thing is that people also suggested that it was a money laundering.

I`m glad that some miners are good people, and if they can return this accidental fees its good explanation for couple cases, but what is with other similar cases? Can they manipulate system in that way? If they can that is very serious matter. I didnt see any logical answer why fees are so high for this people.

Can this happen to anyone? I mean is there some wallet where this is impossible to happen?
1065  Economy / Marketplace / Re: idea for online bitcoin shops on: December 30, 2016, 07:25:20 PM

" buy this item if its cheaper than XBTC? "

This is the most important part, cheaper then with dollars and automatically that means cheaper then on most other places. I like to buy quality stuff, and cause I dont have big salary I need to save and wait for shopping nights, sales to buy something cheaper.
You have a great idea here, this can popularize bitcoin as currency. People will convert fiat into bitcoins if they can save money in that process.
You need to draw up a realistic business plan, remember that profit is what youre left with after paying for everything.
1066  Economy / Economics / Re: is bitcoin strong enough to withstand an attack from the fiat-money system owner on: December 30, 2016, 01:21:28 PM
Another conspiracy theory if you ask me, what will happen if big players enter in bitcoin (if they didnt already). Why everyone assume that big fiat players wish to destroy bitcoin, they can also earn from bitcoin and have other advantages.
To not go off topic, nothing is strong enough to withstand coordinated and well planed attack!!! That is it, you can talk more if you wish but there is no point for that.

1067  Economy / Speculation / Re: Once we hit $1000, how far will BTC drop? on: December 29, 2016, 10:47:02 PM
The question is: after $1000, just how far do you think BTC will drop back? Could we see the days of $500 from August again, or are we stable above $800-900?

We just speculating here, I wish everyone to take a look at this topic:
"We got hacked" coming!  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1732340.0
I see connection here, hacks are reason why price is dropping. In topic above you can find out that after first big rise MtGox was hacked, and after other spikes that bitcoin price had same thing happened. Interesting fact for me is how many bitcoins were stolen in every hack. Mt Gox lost 744,408 BTC,  119,756 BTC stolen from Bitfinex, big difference in amount of coins and in price in dollars. Looks like drop depends from amount of stolen bitcoins. Exchanges now doesnt have so many coins in wallets like MtGox had.
To be short, if there is no hack maybe price can stay high. If exchange sites are better protected now, and if they have some kind insurance (bitfinex recovered fast after hack) maybe there will be no drop.
1068  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Play with your profit or not? on: December 29, 2016, 05:24:41 PM
I dont gamble with my profit, that is greediness, when ever I made a profit and continue to gamble for even more I lost all in the end. Thats why I like sports, I place always minimal bet on that, I make one slip or two and that is my gambling now, I`m enjoy in watching games and this just makes watching more interesting.
Who gamble with profit will likely lose all in the end, its the nature of gambling. Bankroll starts to go up, like a line, but in one moment that drops hard on zero. In moments like that one I always think how the game is rigged, and I`m just one person in the sea of others who had same destiny with some gambling games.
Now I dont play lucky based games, I learned my lesson and I hope this topic can help others to avoid big loses on lucky based games.
1069  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "We got hacked" coming ! on: December 29, 2016, 11:39:07 AM

We want decentralized trading platform but i don't think we gonna see working one that can compete with the current centralized platform any time soon. Bitsquare is there but they are still immature to handle large volumes, safer way to hold bitcoin is to hold them in address which is controlled by only you.

I can find a logic, when bitcoin is going up people are very active on exchanges, and in this times there is a lot of bitcoins circulating on their trading platform. I save my bitcoins, but in case I wish to trade with them I need to deposit, its how its working. When Mt.gox happened I didnt know about bitcoins (btc price was going up), this year we had Bitfinex ( price went almost double from last year), and looks like every now and then when price is going up hackers rob some exchange site.

So to avoid any kind of regrets If that happens , I really recommend everyone to withdraw his funds from exchanges for the moment as we are heading to 1000$ pretty soon probably. Once you finish trading , just withdraw as there is no reason to keep them there... when you want to trade again , just deposit the amount to trade with and nothing more.

Good advice, I quoted just in case. We never know when will it happen, therefore caution is strongly advised.

Edit: Nice explanation Frenky. I like to read your comments, you have good observation and your comments are simple for understanding, even for me Smiley.
1070  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Did the election even matter on: December 29, 2016, 07:11:07 AM
Whichever candidate that was running could've fixed our corrupt scamming industries. I see those candidates running as just puppets as this is most likely the case.  A group of psychopaths is in control of the country.

Names on voting list are there for a reason, someone put them there, corporations, illuminates, masons. They are making profit on us, and we are slaves for them.

I'll make you a tin foil hat if you wan to or I can send you a guide so you can do it yourself

Hitler was voted in by the majority of germans Smiley

Trump talked about immigrants and building a wall on Mexican border, Hitler talked about Jewish people. Give people something to hate and they will unite in that hate, will we unite for something good?

He talked about ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS, you dipshit, that's the most important word :ILLEGAL: that means they're breaking the LAAAAAAW. and Hitler spoke of all races other than Germans as sub-races and therefore below them and must be eradicated so it's only Aryan race to be there, it's a whole other thing, you monkey.

Please refrain from using bad words! Law made by whom? You dont see the point apparently, and I feel sid cause you are blind, you simply cant connect few dots and make whole picture. Yea I`m the monkey that live in third world country and you are civilized person from some nice country, I`m sure you would vote for Hitler, and for Trump (if you are from US).
Learn a bit around people, talk with them. Not just with your own class, try to expand your conscience. If this is too hard for you to understand all this, try to make it simple: "Shit is the shit, no matter how will you packe that shit, in the end taste in the mouth is the same, shitty!"

Hitler was voted in by the majority of germans Smiley

That's because the people in Germany were sick and tired of being oppressed by the western regimes with their sanctions after WW1. Hitler told them he was going to make Germany "great again".  I think in one of his speeches he said "It's gonna by YUGE! in german of course.

I can smell your bullshit over the internet.

What you can smell is one thing, but what you wrote here is not nice. Instead of providing decent explanation, with arguments, you just continue to insult other people. What is making you so nervous, tell us, maybe we can help you.

Edit:  Conditions where this "illegals" live are under any dignity. Why its like that, think about it. I dont understand how you people dont have sympathy and compassion, while some people live in luxury others doesnt have water. Can you understand that?

Read the manual when ever there is one around, here there is for everything. Its hard to find it in all this mess that spammers are creating, but I like challenges.
I didnt have any problems, I'm very carful person and I'm trying to pay attention on tthingsngs around. I hope I will not have problems in future, problems always cause pain and I dont like that, I work on prevent.
1073  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the big whales are not cashing out? on: December 28, 2016, 03:41:44 PM
As was stated above, the most obvious answer is because they think it'll go higher but more generally they believe it can provide them something. It can be eliminating fees, hiding money, increase in the wealth...

Therefore bitcoin is universal tool, and we can use bitcoin for different purposes. I also hold my bitcoins, many of us think it will rise, its just a question how much. Big whales are holders, they have bitcoins for trading, cashing out, but most of the coins will sit and wait couple thousand dollars mark, like I wait that just with my little amount.
Sometimes most obvious answer is the right answer, there is no conspiracy theory behind every story.

1075  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC38 hot wallet got hacked and lost 1.5 million on: December 27, 2016, 07:02:35 AM
There are a long list of the online wallet being hacked since the inception of the bitcoin, and for that reason I don't keep my bitcoin in online wallet for long, often just use it for trading. There are still too much security issues there.
In my opinion, if the online wallet providers such as exchangers want to replace their client's losses because of the hacking it's not going to be a problem. But yeah saving in the offline wallet will be more encouraged but it's still having security risks. Just if you've been installing some sort of cracked programs or even using many pirated software, don't expect perfect security then

Anyone can become target, hackers can make big problems. Great that this exchanger plans to refund all stolen money, building trust is most important thing, I doubt this will have impact directly on bitcoin. We need to be feel safe, before every installation check twice where its from, dont instal everything on computer. Good antivirus, anti malware, check your computer from time to time and everything will be ok.
1076  Economy / Economics / Re: Holdings of gold vs Holdings of btc on: December 26, 2016, 08:20:33 PM
I`m sure someone posted same article, cause I saw thread about this. http://www.forbes.com/sites/panosmourdoukoutas/2016/12/09/is-bitcoin-better-than-gold/#19664a357c14  "Bitcoin has been beating gold by a big margin so far this year." This is the best answer on this question, there is no doubt about that, even forbes confirm that in their article.
Holding bitcoins is better then holding gold, with current potential bitcoin can touch the sky, gold will be where it was always on same on peoples bodies like finery, where it should be.
1077  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Turn Gambling into a Profitable Activity on: December 26, 2016, 06:20:54 PM
There is no gambling without losing, the ones who win all the time are cheaters and scammers probably. I know personally people who live from sports betting, they are in sports everyday, almost like daily job without specific work time, they risk a lot and they hit couple slips where they get back invested and plus profit. I make couple bet slips per week, they have 15 each day, and every bet slip is + 10 euros, and some of those slips have 4 digits payout.
1078  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FUCK! The Bitcoin is dead again. This time for sure. on: December 26, 2016, 11:13:50 AM
What is with this topics about bitcoin death, this us third thread I see in couple days, and before that I didn't notice hem for months.
Looks like when ever price is going up fast people start to tal about huge drop. I reject to believe in this kind of stories.
1079  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Help about Gambling? on: December 26, 2016, 09:32:14 AM
I want to know which is the best option for gambling:-
1) Dice games
2) Blackjack
3) Roulette
4) Slots.....
I have tried Dice games but I am not Satisfied with it. I want to know your opinions which is the best gambling option From the above list?Huh?

You chosen lucky based games and in this games you need a lot of money if you plan to win and make profit.
I suggest you sports, you can find a lot of informations about teams and games, that should make your choice easier.
Poker is also good, cause there you can win with you skills and knowledge.
This two games are better then lucky ones, you can start with small amount and if you are skilled you can make a lot.
1080  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to explain bitcoin to teenagers or children on: December 25, 2016, 08:17:04 PM
Remember the story of Bitcoin-traveler who has decided to travel around the world, paying around alone Bitcoin? Look now with Bitcoin-family:

Yes I remember that article, look at them now, looks like they are one happy family. I think they will not have problems to explain their children what is bitcoin, that is their life. People have habits and that is why its hard for some people to give up on fiat, same is with kids they learn about fiat from start, bitcoin sounds strange even to older people. I have friends that thinks that they know everything, but when I mentioned bitcoin to them they didnt have a clue that something like that exist in this world.
Now internet is making miracles, kids are more informed then I was in their age, they will find it on internet before someone tells them.
