4922  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Public opinion of Bitcoin on: August 27, 2011, 12:54:43 PM
I think there was just no impact on average joes
4923  Other / Meta / Re: Allowing alt chains to leverage forum readership @ bitcointalk? on: August 27, 2011, 12:51:06 PM
+1 OP
Namecoin did it, the others have to gtfo too
4924  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 11DbException after thunderstorm power outage - now 0 transactions and no coins on: August 27, 2011, 03:41:00 AM
You should try what I wrote in the other thread
4925  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 2 btc for debugging short python script with json-rpc and bitcoin on: August 27, 2011, 01:22:07 AM
I reproduced it until I had enough funds to send
So if balance=0, I think this is your problem

If not here is my code:
Code:
#!/usr/bin/env python
# coding: utf8

import urllib
#from gluon import *
#from btcservice import access
from jsonrpc import ServiceProxy

OFFLINEWALLET_ADDRESS = '19QkqAza7BHFTuoz9N8UQkryP4E9jHo4N3' # CAUTION--DO NOT RUN THIS SCRIPT WITHOUT SETTING THIS FIRST.

access = ServiceProxy("http://login:pass@127.0.0.1:8332")
balance = access.getbalance()

if OFFLINEWALLET_ADDRESS != '':
    access.sendtoaddress(OFFLINEWALLET_ADDRESS,float(balance))
It works when balance>0 and prints your error when balance=0
4926  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Client 11DbException on: August 27, 2011, 01:01:15 AM
Try opening it with pywallet
If it doesn't work scan your drive for private keys (pywallet does that only for Linux/OSX but there are plenty of such tools over here)
4927  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 11DbException after thunderstorm power outage - now 0 transactions and no coins on: August 27, 2011, 12:28:45 AM
Keep a copy of the current wallet.dat

Yes..of course, that's really all you need wallet.dat everything else can be deleted (bitcoin.conf optional if you even have it).
I meant an additional copy, not just keeping .bitcoin/wallet.dat
4928  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Client 11DbException on: August 27, 2011, 12:10:38 AM
The permissions are correctly set?
Anyway, like the other thread, keep a copy of the current wallet.dat(even in another truecrypt file), you never know what can happen
4929  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 11DbException after thunderstorm power outage - now 0 transactions and no coins on: August 27, 2011, 12:07:20 AM
Keep a copy of the current wallet.dat

No, never
4931  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Testnet blockchain split? on: August 26, 2011, 12:19:49 AM
There was a post about that a couple days ago, in the discussion forum
Basically somebody mined blocks on his own disconnected from internet, managed to get a longer block chain and then released it
All the clients forgot the "true" shorter blockchain and accept this one
4932  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: looking for technical info on: August 25, 2011, 11:48:54 PM
could someone point me to where I can see code /pseudo/code for the calculation of a hash.  step by step would be awesome, but anything would be helpful too.
A hash of what?
Block, transaction, address?

There is a login button on the top
4934  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Are Ixcoins/Thomas Nasakioto a scam/scammer? on: August 25, 2011, 10:22:24 PM
it is the mere fact that the title of the thread is directed at ixcoins and Thomas Nasakioto. Nowhere did I intend for this to be about you. But you sure took it as such. lol  Cheesy

Ah...but wait...

I recall another spammy thread you started around here claiming Thomas and I were one and the same person yet now you accept were not.  Huh

Are you schizophrenic too?

If you go back and look oldtimer you will notice that I did not start that initial thread.

Irrelevant. Fact is your the main proponent of the claim. Nice attempt at weaseling your way out of it though  Grin
Wat?
4935  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I wish to create a currency on: August 25, 2011, 09:59:04 PM
Why only one currency OP?
Create a currency each week!
4936  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solidcoin's Coin Maximum to be Reached within 6 mo. to 2 yr. on: August 25, 2011, 09:51:19 PM
Don't bother CoinHunter, Smoothie is a self-confessed scammer.

LOL and the trolling begins with the ixcoin founder. Just like oldminer.

You guys should be butt-buddies seriously.
Wat?
How can one be butt-buddy with himself? Huh

4938  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pywallet fork for SolidCoin and more on: August 25, 2011, 05:52:16 PM
Yes,
Code:
chr(addrtype+128)
instead of
Code:
chr(addrtype)
is a bug, or rather something that goes against the de facto standards

I didn't say it doesn't work
It's just like ix/i0/solidcoin: copy the code, change a value, tada I made a fork
You guys should really help Bitcoin projects instead of parasiting them (mainly when it doesn't add any value...)
4939  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pywallet fork for SolidCoin and more on: August 25, 2011, 03:27:46 PM
I don't have to try I know it works
Follow my instructions with Version = 125 instead of 0
It worked for Bitcoin, Namecoin, I0coin, Ixcoin, Devcoin, Groupcoin, and all their testnets

Basically you just:
 - created a useless function
 - reintroduced 2 bugs
Code:
$ diff old_joric_pywallet this_awesome_fork
3c3
< # pywallet_solidcoin.py 1.1
---
> # pywallet.py 1.1

4940  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pywallet fork for SolidCoin and more on: August 25, 2011, 03:06:24 PM
Did you leave your basement during the last thousand years?

Pywallet already support all existing and future blockchains

Also, you forked the old Joric's pywallet, ie you forked a tool which is already outdated
Well done
