"Windows defender smartscan prevented an unrecognised app from starting. Running this app may put your PC at risk."

... when i try to install 64bit wallet. Checksum was ok. Any thoughts?   Roll Eyes
That's the windows virus program. Could be a false positive which would require you setting up an exception. Some people run this stuff in a sandbox type setup so if they have viruses, they can catch it and just rebuild the system again. However, did anyone think to run it thru VirusTotal? Last time I ran litecoin core through it, it was one of the few coins that was completely clean. A lot will have stuff like "bitcoin miner" stuff flagged.

The last time I built a block explorer, synching it took 7 days, but it was a much larger chain.
This coin was announced Feb 3rd. They had all that time to "sync" a block explorer based on the LTC blockchain prior to the fork and then all they would have had to have done is let it catch up with maybe the last days worth or something.
503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LCC] Litecoin Cash | SHA256 LTC fork @ block 1371111 | 10:1 claim ratio on: February 19, 2018, 08:44:02 AM
"Developpers", give us wallet, a blockchain explorer, a github repo, and your fucking premined addresses...

According to developers themself, they have 11 hours left to provide wallets, if they keep their word.
There's no reason they couldn't have released the wallet immediately after the fork. After all, they need a wallet to be mining it themselves. But hey, they get all this time to solo mine it and then we all get to watch "you're a scammer cause you mined it when no one else could" posts. So that will be entertaining. Usually, coins like this get pump and dumped and then fade off into nothing with just the bag holders trying to keep it alive. Followed by the community take over and continued limping. Only thing that would keep it from dying off quickly is that it's POW and not POS.
504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LCC] Litecoin Cash | SHA256 LTC fork @ block 1371111 | 10:1 claim ratio on: February 19, 2018, 05:40:29 AM
If I import my private keys to claim this will you steal my LTC?  Undecided
- Wait for fork to occur.
- Get your wallet key.
- Send all your LTC to a brand new wallet with a brand new address.
- Use your old wallet key with their software and the LCC coins will be there.

There are several posts already that outline this in much greater detail. I'd suggest you find and read them.

But yes, they "could" access your old address if they're scammers and their software sends them your info and/or does some other nefarious stuff. That's why you move stuff to a brand new wallet and address before using their software to get access to the LCC.

this is not official Litecoin fork right? what's with LCC that don't have ltc? I'm hodler of ltc since it's only $45 and for me ltc have everything that btc and eth don't have. Also with btc there's so many fork because it has only 21m supply + high fee and slow transaction. So with LCC, what is it you like to resolve since LTC already have low fee, fast transaction and good enough supply? ofcourse unless you like give solution to Charlie's humor and big mouth..lol
If you read the first post in this thread, your questions will be answered.
506  Other / Meta / Re: I dont agree to add demerit system on: February 19, 2018, 03:09:00 AM
You could never have a demerit system where the masses could use it. We see it all the time where some group of people take it upon themselves to destroy someone else for "reasons". The only way it could possibly work is if only a select group could hand out demerits. But given how there are some who feel that those currently using the trust system to perform that action are abusing it, I can't see that working either. Without there being crystal clear guidelines as to what sorts of posts warranted demerits and those handing it out were capable of taking their personal feelings/opinions etc out of the equation, it wouldn't work either. Thing is, everyone would get demerits. Everyone does posts from time to time that would be the sort that would be defined as warranting demerit.
507  Economy / Reputation / Re: Lauda is a WITCH, who cast an evil spell on me! BURN THE WITCH! on: February 19, 2018, 01:27:41 AM
if ... started
I will preface this by first saying I'm not implying anything since people on this forum readily jump to conclusions and, despite me clearly saying this, I'm sure some people who are predisposed to that sort of thing will automatically assume it anyway.

There are short and long "cons" (I'm simply using the term con as that's part of the phrase). We've all seen both sorts of things play out even though there were probably red flags at some point. In other words, time will tell but I've come to trust my instincts that there's more going on than meets the eye.

PS. And now for something completely different... I appreciate the effort you put into the GAW thing. That was certainly interesting to watch play out.
508  Economy / Reputation / Re: Lauda is a WITCH, who cast an evil spell on me! BURN THE WITCH! on: February 19, 2018, 01:00:49 AM
Do you really think that “sucking up” would work with Lauda?
Why wouldn't it? During "drama", people naturally support/defend those that do the same for them. They form a little "tribe". When someone gives them something to show appreciation of the support (in this case merit), in the back of their mind they feel obligated to return the favor so to speak.  Besides which, a thread like isn't going to attract just Lauda. It will attract all the same people that have been in the other Lauda threads. If I wanted to attract attention to myself, farm some merit and do what you next mention, it's certainly the sort of thing I'd do.

“earning respect and making friends”
Yes, one could certainly say that's what's happening. To what end though? Given how you've pointed out how not one person on the planet knows who you are and how you've taken steps to ensure you can never get tracked, one has to wonder why. Whenever I see that sort of thing, it sets off all sorts of red flags for me.

Anyway, you're entertaining and I'm sure there will much more interesting/entertaining things to come from you. Carry on man!
509  Economy / Reputation / Re: Lauda is a WITCH, who cast an evil spell on me! BURN THE WITCH! on: February 19, 2018, 12:42:01 AM
I bow to your forum trolling skills nullius.
Satire =/= trolling. It looks like you still don't get it.
Not true as satire can be used as a means to troll albeit in "style". In order to really know what his intent/motives are, we'd have to be in his head which, since none of us are, we can just make assumptions.
510  Economy / Reputation / Re: Lauda is a WITCH, who cast an evil spell on me! BURN THE WITCH! on: February 19, 2018, 12:33:41 AM
Why am I not doing it? I have more important things to do in my life than take part in those sorts of things. Sometimes I'll get involved in technical discussions but finding worthwhile stuff on here has gotten harder and harder. The last one was last year with segwit/big block discussions.

Did I say all his posts are "trolling"? I think not. His most "noteable" one, was him insulting someone and getting 50 points for it. He certainly does it in style though.

So why are you complaining then? Go on with your business if it's not affecting you in any way...

Also,

I bow to your forum trolling skills nullius.

That would imply that you're calling his posts trolling

Wasn't aware you held any importance in my life that would warrant me considering your advice or that I should place any value on anything you might have to say on the topic.

I commended him on his trolling skills with no mention at all of any his other posts. You clearly have a predisposed mindset, one of those that sees what they want to see. Given that, have a nice day.

There's only .2LTC in it Sad . I just got started in cryptos. Trying to get out of minimum wage circle. I can pay whatever you feel is fair.
He wants to charge you 0.5 LTC? Jeez.

If you want to send me some LTC for the 10 seconds worth of googling, address is in my sig LOL.

People should really pay attention to nullius as he's showing everyone how to seriously farm merit points. Lots of sarcastic humor etc along with sucking up to all the right people. The mutual masturbatory merit giving is truly awesome to behold. I bow to your forum trolling skills nullius.

He didn't even get merited on this topic. Why aren't you doing it instead of just pointing it out?

So are any of these posts, that he was merited on, trolling or legit posts?

These are just some that were noticeable in his merit history that you can see right off the bat and if you ask me... you're, pretty much, wrong.

514  Economy / Reputation / Re: Former Staff member Lauda has a pill addiction - *not disputed by lauda* on: February 15, 2018, 01:43:36 AM
I used to frequent a business forum that was very liberal in what it allowed, just like this toxic place. Then one day the people running it decided they'd had enough of the chaos and to get things under control and they implemented a 3 strikes and you're out rule/rating along with more stringent rules like, making accusations without proof would result in a permanent ban (might have been a strike, can't remember now but the thread was purged as well). Cleaned that place up pretty quick. Course in this place, a whole lot of people including those currently in position of trust would get banned. But sometimes you need to seriously clean house.
515  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2 economists just eviscerated bitcoin, saying it should be trading at $20 on: February 11, 2018, 11:21:32 PM
The problem with the assumption of the economist is that he creates all this mental exercise from a false premise, he says that if bitcoin was used just like any other currency it will be worth 20 dollars, and there are two flaws with that kind of thinking, the first one is since when currencies are only used as currencies and not as a source of speculation? Look at the Forex market, and second bitcoin is in no way or form an ordinary currency so all what he is talking about can be disproved with just those two points.

Well, these two points of yours don't actually disprove the authors' argument. Because it is not a false premise, it is just an assumption, basically "what if". You may accept it or you may discard it. In the first case, you could then argue what Bitcoin price would be. Though it would be hard to say since we don't know and can't correctly assess what Bitcoin adoption might be and what technologies like LN and its likes would be used by now.
From wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_premise
'A false premise is an incorrect proposition that forms the basis of an argument or syllogism. Since the premise (proposition, or assumption) is not correct, the conclusion drawn may be in error.'

It is a false premise that currencies are only used as such when we know that no major currency follows that pattern, every major currency is used to speculate with the strength of the economy of the country or with other factors, the scenario pictured could be correct but it does not change the fact the premise is false and as such it is never going to happen and the conclusion is mistaken.

You've read things the way you want to in order to say it's based on a false premise. No where in the article do they say it's "only" used as a currency.

Regardless, it's just another group of people throwing their hat in the ring to try and make sense out of the experiment known as bitcoin. No one is capable of doing that as it's a completely different beast.
516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Back at RED :( on: February 11, 2018, 08:34:02 AM
Coins are dumping again. I know that we won't really know when will things go back to normal. I am still holding my coins and hoping that it will recover after this awful dip. I just want to know who else here are holding? Do any of you got tired of waiting and did a panic sell? I know some people who sold their coins at a lower price before. I held into my principles and kept waiting but it seems like things aren't going smooth. Any thoughts about this? Please respect my post. Thanks!
What do you think is normal? The pump to 20k? crypto is volatile and typically cyclic. This IS normal.
517  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Back at RED :( on: February 11, 2018, 08:32:53 AM
I missed the 6k buy in...fuck
Don't worry. I'm sure you'll get your chance soon enough.
518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LCC] Litecoin Cash | SHA256 LTC fork @ block 1371111 | 10:1 claim ratio on: February 11, 2018, 05:20:14 AM
Explain if it is not a scam just taking the name?

- It's become customary in recent months that when a blockchain is hardforked, the new coin takes the name of the old as a prefix.

We're not saying it's a great convention, but it's instantly understood by people as "oh it's a Litecoin hard fork".
No. It's generally understood that a coin is co-opting the name for other reasons such as to mislead people and try and gain a level of "respectability" they have not earned. Last time there was a lot of this sort of thing if was "Dark" stuff. i.e. BitcoinDark, LitecoinDark, DogeDark, DarkDoge and so on and so forth. So those that have been around awhile, do not view any coin using another's name in a favorable light.
519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is it safe or risky to invest in Doge coin? on: February 10, 2018, 05:43:13 AM
i am thinking to invest in doge coin.
What do you (or most people) mean when you say "invest"? You want to buy some and hold onto it for 10 years and become rich? Probably not. Do you want to day trade? Sure. Do you want to buy some and sell or 2x profit in a few months and then repeat every year? Sure. Right now though it's too high. Once it gets under 40 it will start to become time to buy for the next "pump'.
520  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin Cash - hard fork of LTC - IS COMING ! on: February 10, 2018, 04:59:20 AM
It will be interesting to see what happens when it gets slammed with hash at the start. Got to be one of the stupidest things I've seen.
