501  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 19, 2023, 02:35:47 PM

BTW, we have the Warriors hosting the Celtics tomorrow, I'm guessing, Warriors will lose.  Grin

I don't have to think on what team to bet as I like the Celtics on this. The Warriors are in a win streak, back at home hosting the hottest team now in the East, so I would back on the better team there. The Warriors will now be tested if they can still win against a strong team despite missing Draymond Green, so I guess it's no brainer than the Celtics will win.

If you are betting, the spread now is -5.5 for the Cetlics, quite high on the road but this Celtics team is capable of bringing a double digit win.
502  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder Vs Parker & Joshua Vs Wallin Boxing Mega Saudi card 23rd December on: December 19, 2023, 11:40:58 AM

So far Parker 5:1 underdog against Wilder. Otto Wallin, almost 4:1 underdog. So that speaks that this is just a confidence boosting match.

With those odds, it seems like an easy fight for Wilder. The thing is, when Wilder struggles against his opponents, he tends to lose, and that has only happened against Fury. So, against Parker, I believe it could be an easy KO for Wilder. Despite being defeated by Fury, Wilder is making a comeback, and if he continues to improve his ranking, there's a good chance he'll make a strong return.

Looking ahead to Fury vs. Usyk, if Fury wins, both AJ and Wilder might be forced to fight the champion for another shot. If that happens, fans might not be as excited, given Wilder's previous losses to Fury. However, against AJ, it could be different as we haven't seen him fight Fury. Yet, according to the books, AJ appears to be an easy target for Fury. These are just possibilities for the future, so for more exciting bouts in the heavyweight division, let's hope Usyk can beat Fury, as things could become uncertain against AJ or Wilder.
503  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rodriguez Vs Edwards IBF and IBO WORLD FLYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP DEC 16 2023 on: December 19, 2023, 10:58:58 AM
It's just unfortunate that fights like this in the lower weight categories are not generating enough attention this is the exact weight division where the great Pacquiao and up-and-coming great Inoue started and this is also the division where one of the greatest Mexican fighters reigns  Ricardo "El Finito" López, great prospects in the Bantamweight and Superwelterweight started here Bam Rodriguez should stay in the division or if Edwards ask for a rematch he should go for it after Inoue he is the next big star in the lower weight division.
True, just really sad to see that the lower weight class is not generation enough buzz even in the last 20 years. If not for the likes of Inoue at bantamweight, then we will not be interested at 112, 115 and 118.

But at least for now, we have a great fight in the future, Bam wants Juan Francisco Estrada.

That will be a banger fight, and hopefully we will see this next year. Although Rodriguez can also target a unification fight with the other champion here at the Flyweight division. Artem Dalakian and Julio Cesar Martinez, either fight will be solid. But if he can't make the weight at 112 lbs anymore, then it's time for him to move up to Jr. Bantamweight.

Agree,  lower division aren't getting much attention that's why we are so thankful for Inoue being a very dominant boxer.

Currently, according to the list - https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/boxing/boxing-rankings-fighters-p4p-list-2023-b2461927.html...
he is now the number 1 pound for pound, and I think he'll keep that ranking as long as he continues his impressive wins. He will have a fight this coming December 26 against Tapales, with another KO win here, his popularity will just continue to grow.
504  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Everything has changed on: December 17, 2023, 08:59:47 PM
I don't know whether what I'm feeling other people are feeling it or am just having this feeling based on the country where I'm located, or am feeling this way because of age and responsibility. Before now everything was easy for the rich , poor, and middle class, you can even be happy without having any money with you. But this time it seems different,  you can still have money but still their is is no inner joy. Now even the people around are not real and genuine but fake, can even betray for free. Is it that as the world is evolving people are changing too.
People have become discontented these days because of their love for money. It's like money becomes the most essential thing on earth, and without money survival and life's satisfaction will be very hard toa achieved. Even the rich people who have a lot of stack of money already still want to become richer and will do everything to in increase their wealth. And also the poor ones, their everyday struggles is all about money, and even if they can have that, living life seems lacking and meaningless at all.

The world is heading for a big change, and so are the people are. But at the end of the day, it's the people will decide as to what path they will chose to take, so they will find the joy and meaning of their life.
505  Other / Meta / Re: I think it's possible to keep going without banning mixers on: December 17, 2023, 11:22:10 AM
I believe Theymos made a well-thought-out decision. With recent news involving mixers, a responsible admin would prioritize the overall protection of the forum, even if it means sacrificing certain aspects. I know some may feel disappointed about the ban on mixer news, but let us not forget to recognize the potential harm it could pose if the US orders a shutdown of our beloved forum.

In this light, it seems like a prudent decision, and we should remain optimistic that the space left by this decision will be filled by new industries or existing ones increasing their exposure on the forum so that opportunity loss will come back again.
506  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 17, 2023, 10:56:24 AM
Boston it is tomorrow, they were playing great at home, covered most of their games and remained undefeated, so most likely we will see the same outcome the last time they played the Magic.

If these players will play according to @owengtam09... we will see an interesting game.

Quote
Markelle Fultz (Knee/ Game Time Decision)
Jalen Suggs (Undisclosed/ Game Time Decision)
Joe Ingles (Ankle/ Game Time Decision)

All of them are in game time decision, means there's a chance to see them. I think gonna make them better, but winning is exactly a different story.
507  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rodriguez Vs Edwards IBF and IBO WORLD FLYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP DEC 16 2023 on: December 17, 2023, 07:41:31 AM
I thought that Edwards will somewhat make this fight close, but Rodriguez win a big win here, as he stopped after nine rounds. He scored a devastating knock down on round nine that forces the corner of Edwards to stop the fight.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bHzw65W534&t=199s

So in the post fight interview, he said that he will go to 115 lbs and fight Juan Francisco Estrada. I think that is also a great fight as we all know that Estrada is also a great champion at Super Flyweight/Jr. Bantamweight.

Edwards was okay with the decision of his corner, he had respect to the decision as he said in his statement that his coach was with him since he's 18 years old, so he believe on the judgement. I didn't see the fight though, but judging on the highlights, I can tell it was a very entertaining fight that both fighters are not showing any dull moment, but you know, fights like this normally wouldn't end up to the judges scorecards, so as predicted, the heavy puncher wins this fight. Congratulations to Rodriguez... and what was the odds for Rodriguez to win by KO by the way?
508  Economy / Gambling discussion / Are you confident betting on handicap for heavy favorites or heavy underdog? on: December 17, 2023, 02:41:14 AM
Let's say the handicap is -6.5 or more, which do you prefer to bet on, the favorites, or the underdog?

As we know, every gambler have different strategies in sports betting, they woudl stick to what they are comfortable with and that they think would give them a success in the long run, so this thread is some sort of a survey, maybe newbies or those who have been struggling to find the right strategy might benefit from this.

What can you share based on your experience as well, between the two, which one you have more wins and you find an effective method in your sports betting venture?
509  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: December 17, 2023, 01:16:54 AM

Just check the final update but didn't manage to watch the game, and I'm surprise knowing the outcome, Magnolia's winning streak is now being stopped by ROS, I guess there are good bettors who loves taking that big risk, they are now surely enjoying the amount of profits that they've gain, like what the post above you mentioned, it's strange that underdog wins agains the heavy favorite but that's how the game works.

One will win and the other team will lose the game, I'm sure we will see more like this to take place, better to assess and put your money in the right team and the right timing.

ROS is s atreak stopper and they striked again. A close game but a big win for them, and since it's not played on unfamiliar venue, probably that was the reason why their shooting aren't that good. I heard from the commentators that it's played in Cagayan, so i guess we better be aware of the venue so we can spot this kind of opportunity.
510  Other / Off-topic / Re: Simple advice, don't get carried away by people success stories. on: December 16, 2023, 10:44:24 PM
When money is involved, it's important to invest with high caution. Not because you are fearful to lose, but because of the spread out scammers all over the internet. They try to pretend to help you and act as a financial advisor, but in reality they are just obsessed with your funds and once they get them, they will suddenly vanish like thin air.

We don't hold assurance if those successful stories of other people being told are true, so it's best to investigate first or DYOR so we won't end up the fools who believe in made up stories.
511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best piece of advice to anyone going into bitcoin on: December 16, 2023, 08:59:48 PM
Buy a little bit of bitcoin every week don't care if it's a $1, $5, $10, $100, figure out what you can afford every week and buy it, get rid of unnecessary expenses or whatever you can think of getting rid of and spend it on bitcoin
5 to 10 years if you buy some every week you will be a multi millionaire
Nothing new as it's still DCA. Well, I have no issues against doing DCA but if you consider the current high transaction fees, you will become hesitant to follow this advice because the high fees will only eat up your capital. You only lose your capital in exchange for its transaction fees which I think is not ideal to do. If you want to really follow DCA, then just wait a little bit until the fees gets back to its normal price.

However, I believe majority are doing DCA these days, not only it will lessen the risk to lose your capital, but it's also a great strategy to increase your investment portfolio without noticing the total amount of your expenses.
512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: December 16, 2023, 11:42:46 AM
Took Magnolia ML @2.40
Nice timing, good lukc with your bet. Magnolia is a team that you can trust especially in the 2nd half as they are good in coming back. Paul Lee is playing, I thought he was injured last time, so this is a close Magnolia team that is down by a double digit. I believe they can make a come back in the 3rd quarter and we will have a close game in the last quarter.

By the way, it's already 77-75 now, ROS only is leading by 2 points.
513  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 16, 2023, 10:44:44 AM
I will go with my underdog here, the Orlando Magic against the Boston Celtics, @2.50.
I guess one of us will at least win something as I got the Celtics @1.54, and i'm not a fan of the Magic on the road because they've let me down during their game in Cleveland.

I also had to avoid the handicap because you never know what the Celtics could throw in the second half.

It was a good win but either way you could also win with the spread. With that win,  Celtics remained unbeaten at home and it looks like they'll keep that streak for a longer period of time. Even if you bet on the spread, you'll not feel nervous since they are in control of the game, it was only one quarter where the Magic had won but that was when the Celtis lead was already huge, so I'd say they score on garbarge time or when no chance to win anymore.

congrats ralle! Celtics is one of the teams you can trust.
514  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 16, 2023, 09:13:35 AM
One year is too long  to look for a potential opponent. Maybe right now they are already looking at the list as to who is the best opponent for him. There are some good names in this division and then perhaps some that he can fight as a stepping stone. It's up to MP on how they are going to guide Mark career in this division, as for sure they want him to be a champion, but it could take careful matchmaking.

Currently, Mark Magsayo seems to be the primary boxer under MP, providing them with the opportunity to secure him good fights.

Yes, I think MP under Sean Gibbons is one of the most underrated boxing promotions. And Filipino boxers should all be under this promotion, after all the man behind this is their legendary fighter in Manny Pacman Pacquiao.

Yeah, that's right. With MP, he is a legend in boxing, if a boxer signs under their promotion, they'll be able to find great opportunity as long as they have a talent. If Magsayo didn't sign with MP, he wouldn't have a championship fights, or would fight the big names in boxing.  This is the opportunity of the Fililipino boxers to work hard on their skills as they already have this promotion that could help them fulfill their dreams.

As per record, here's the champions that MP promotion has produced. (so far) https://boxrec.com/wiki/index.php/MP_Promotions

We don't know what can happen as Green's attitude is no longer good especially there are many young fans that are watching, they might think
that it's okay to play and idolize the way Green showcasing his stuff.

I guess we won't be seing him soon, he already had serious of violation prior to this indifinite suspension issuance by the NBA. Probably like Morant, he'll be out for long and that would affect his teams on their succeeding games. No more Draymond that is very familiar with their games, it will be up to Curry and Thompson now, and hopefully Wiggins would step up as his numbers this season hasn't been convincing.
516  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What you need to know about trading on: December 15, 2023, 09:48:50 PM
If you listen to those unreliable crypto influencers, you will really be convinced that trading is all about money and profits, and the more you trade, the bigger amount of profits you will earn. But in reality, everything is hard in trading. It only gets harder if you trade with zero knowledge in trading. That is why do your own diligence to study trading and build your own skills and strategies through consistent exposure in the market. Success is not achieved easily, it takes a lot of patience and persistency to win that.
517  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beginners who considers quantities than qualities. on: December 15, 2023, 06:56:06 PM
To the beginners and help, do you ever stayed long on a post in the forum basically on a critical thinking on how you could come up with a constructive and a quality post and then you realizes you have stayed too long on a particular post while considering you still have a lot to be responded and then you just think of minimizing your times and just contributes to the forum with whatever instincts that comes to your mind without undermining if they are of qualities and constructive impressed?

At think there are various people like that here but I just have to let you know that it is better you take one step seriously and get it right than taking multi of steps and get them all wrong at where the system demand that rightful ness is a priority.
If you resort doing like that, you will end up with burst posting that are done just to finish the required post but are not made actually from being constructive and quality posts. I see a lot of beginners are doing like this and end up having the forum admin keeping an eye to them because they don't follow one of the rules in the forum.

These newbies are also found to be spamming as well. But I guess the longer they stay in the forum, the higher chances that they will learn what's right from wrong and correct their wrong posting habits.
518  Economy / Economics / Re: Food for thought on: December 15, 2023, 05:58:54 PM
For those working for government or an entity, try  to  start a small business and grow it gradually while still doing your 9am- 5pm job.

We might not feel the importance of it until we have been lay off from the job.
I have a question for those working for an entity or government, if you are being sacked today, what will be your faith? Will you still be financially strong, can your other sources of income keeps you going or you will be devastated by the loss of your job.

In this current economy, it's suicidal to have only one source of income.
If you must live well you must be ready to grab the bull by his horn am make life changing decisions by having more than one source of income.
Don't put your financial destiny in the hands of your bosses, you might not know the importance of having your own business till you have been sacked. think about it.
I know it's everyone's dream to have his/her own business because it's a common knowledge to everyone that we don't get improved or become rich just by staying in a single job or a government job, but by having our own business the rate of chances to get rich or make our lives comfortable is very high. That's why a lot would even chose to start their own business and leave their jobs permanently.

However, not all are given the opportunities to become the bosses of their own. Saving one's own capital is very hard, and when it comes to business, the rich men have always the advantage to start first, while leaving the poor men struggle first so they can come up with sufficient finances to funds their business.
519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bankroll! on: December 14, 2023, 01:54:57 PM
Who are these people that are dreaming of investing in sports betting? I'm sure that there's not a lot of people that are going to do that even when you make it look logical, sounds to me like you're creating fictional people that are considering investing in sports betting because I haven't seen a lot of users posting here that even consider that not even the NBA or Football mega threads. But if you're talking about short-term funds for sports betting then I would say I'd be comfortable to have around 200 USD because it's a safe amount, not too big for me but at the same time enough for me to make some profit in case I get a win in my bet.

They are the people who believe that making money in sports is possible. 1% of the total gamblers  or sports bettor are making money which will make them an exceptional bettors if they'll be successful with it. Everyone of us starts with a dream, I think it's okay to dream as long as you know your limit, at least once if your life you were able to do the things that you wanted to, if you fail, then back to the basic, which is to consider gambling as fun.

If in the end you will only return to basics and return to considering gambling as fun. then why would someone try so hard to make this gambling and betting activity into a profitable activity. Isn't that just a waste?

I agree with you it's a waste, but there's a feeling of being challenge from gamblers who thought they can make money in gambling because they were inspired on what they see. The question is, can some be profitable in gambling, if the the answer is yes, they'll try to find a way to achieve that profit themselves. At least in the end they'll realize gambling is not for them, so they'll just return to gambling for fun.

As they say, no regret that comes first.

Just be realistic bro, this gambling is about possibility and the chance of losing is greater than winning. Winning that dreams are a free space for expression and expectations. But we also need to measure our own abilities, and if the possibility of failure is greater than success. If the possibility of failure is greater, then don't fight for that dream.

How can you measure your abilities if you will not try? People always try, if they make mistake, they learn and don't do it again.

I don't quite comprehend why Casimero left MP. From my perspective, he was getting quality fights under MP, but after leaving, he seemed to struggle in securing high-caliber opponents, resulting in a drop in his ranking.

Magsayo appears to have a promising future with MP, as long as he continues to develop himself, he'll be able to come back as a champion.
