521  Other / Meta / Re: Unmerit rule? on: March 24, 2018, 11:46:20 AM
I don't think demerit is needed Smiley. It'll be the best thing for merit abusers Smiley). They'll have chance to remove their merit abusing evidence then when checking time over, they'll send merit again. LOL. Although I know your idea is really good but we don't need it in this forum.

Demerit is a dangerous avenue to go down for sure, but the shitposters who have already leveled up are also a threat to the quality of the forum.. Perhaps adding in an increase into the base merit required to keep current rank would be an option? it shouldn't be massive as posters who have been inactive will need a chance to get the level they had back, maybe something like a 50 merit increase to each level in 6 months, that would kick the shitposters down a level for sure, brain is a little fried right now so I cannot think of a sensible system that would work but I am sure someone else could come up with something constructive if they agree with me

I came here to say this. The only thing is that it wouldn't be fair for "archived" users, if you will. Or users that take a hiatus for several months, only to come back to a meritless account? That's not fair, as it would be viewed as a penalty for inactivity, not a penalty for not earning any merits.

I think that merits could use some sort of decay, though... Not sMerit decay, so don't get confused with what I'm trying to say... It's the same thing you all are saying, but with the stipulation that your merit score will drop ONLY if you (a) haven't earned a single merit in a predetermined amount of time and (b) your activity points have increased within every activity period of that predetermined amount of time. This would just mean that they users who are actively posting and haven't earned a single merit would be the only ones at risk of losing rank.

I have no complaints about the merit system; I find it extremely easy to be able to earn merits. It doesn't take a lot to put some thought into your posts, by any means.

And OP, like @The Pharmacist, I've given you a merit, as well, as it is very apparent that you put a lot of thought into this topic.
522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CryptoFightingBirds: Get acquainted with the first troop of feathery fighters on: March 24, 2018, 11:32:04 AM
Please move this topic to the appropriate board. Project Development is for the organization of Bitcoin-related projects. Since it appears that your site is already completed, you should move this to the Service Announcements board. You can move the topic by clicking on the "move topic" link at the bottom left of this page.

Are you using MetaMask like CryptoKitties does? Nothing happens when I click on the "Start birding" button on your website.
523  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: March 24, 2018, 11:16:44 AM

Qus 1: According to Attach link , 60 activity makes me Member on Forum. But my activity is 70 . Or i am wrong to understand .

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.msg28856522#msg28856522

Did you not read the first post in this thread? Roll Eyes

In addition to activity, everyone now has a merit score, and you need both a certain activity level and a certain merit score in order to reach higher member ranks. The required scores are:

RankRequired activityRequired merit
Brand new00
Newbie10
Jr Member300
Member6010
Full Member120100
Sr. Member240250
Hero Member480500
LegendaryRandom in the range 775-10301000

In addition to the required 60 Activity, you now need 10 Merits to rank up from Jr. Member to Member.

Qus 2: One thing i am not clear about merit. Senior can send or gift it upon your activity on forum . in my local tread, some times i am trying  to clearify my communitie newbies problem . and i know there has many senior and sir member. but they do not properly look after their newbies , .
What kind of Rules has for this kind of Sir member or Senior Member ?

Nobody is required to give you merits in order to rank up. You don't automatically get merits just because you post. Go back and read the first post here to learn what merits are and why the merit system was introduced. Based on your post, however, I don't think you're going to be a good fit for these forums, and I don't think you stand a snowball's chance in hell at earning enough merits to rank up, if I'm being honest.
524  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Venting on: March 24, 2018, 11:08:54 AM
STOP POSTING IN THIS THREAD, YOU FILTHY SIG SPAMMERS.

It's 3 months old, and the nature of the transactional fees that OP was talking about is no longer valid.

Stop being a shitposter.
525  Other / Meta / Re: TMAN'S guide to getting merit. on: March 24, 2018, 11:03:25 AM
Thanks for the useful guide here. I will also like to give one more suggestion to members here. It is good that the forum allows you to make money by participating in signature campaigns and posting quality content here. Thus,  if you have to improve your English for this, you can go for it. But never rely on this income alone. Have multiple sources of income. Best way to use this forum is by learning about crypto investment here and then using those strategies to actually trade crypto. There is huge money to be made there and the bounties are nowhere in comparison to that earnings.

Sorry to derail this thread momentarily, but I need to address this statement. Be careful. You're not a financial advisor, so please don't act like one. Trading crypto is not the best solution for earning, especially when most newbies will have no idea what to research. This forum alone isn't nearly enough to arm someone with the tools to become profitable at trading, so please be careful with giving this type of advice, as it's never as sure of a thing as your post made it sound.
526  Other / Meta / Re: New Forum Categories on: March 24, 2018, 10:57:07 AM
There are plenty of users to the point where it could be used. Not to mention, there are a lot of developers as well. Being able to discuss code, best practices, etc, would be beneficial.

Wait, were you talking about coders in general, or Bitcoin/crypto project related coders? Don't forget that the name of this forum is "Bitcoin Talk"... I don't see the need to create non-Bitcoin related categories here.

I really don't think there's enough demand for these boards. Bitcointalk also doesn't have to have sub boards for every possible topic.

I could potentially see a subforum/category about gaming. I'm not really a console gamer anymore, but I'm pretty big into PC games and mobile apps, and quite a few people that I play with are big into crypto. As we near the releases of true blockchain/crypto gaming platform/ecosystems, I can see the need for the gaming sub here. I don't see it in the near future, although I'm curious to see what developers like Chimaera plan on doing (press release) as opposed to the half-assed crypto-based games we've seen thus far.

Other than that, I agree with you.
Yes there is a potential that may someday be applicable. Many games will utilize blockchain technology and now also have started many game developers who recognize the existence of Bitcoin as a thing that is needed in this era of technology. And I think also that the thread about technological development is also a thing to be considered, We know that digital currency is one form of technological progress, we can not separate the digital currency with technology.

It may take some time and consideration, but I will also continue to support what this forum will do. opinions will be very important because with an opinion then a thing that can experience the process of development towards the better.

I don't know why you bolded the statement you bolded. It's a general blanket statement that doesn't need to be emphasized. And I haven't encountered "many game developers who recognize the existence of Bitcoin as a thing that is needed in this era of technology", and I'm a gamer that RSS's to many crypto newsfeeds. When you make definitive statements like yours, it'd be good to leave references along with your post. Otherwise, people are going to be inclined to consider posts like yours shit, just like I did.

Please tag this account:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3189236.0

Registered today and very first post is a locked post on the Goods section.

I pm'd him a few times asking him to unlock the thread but as usual I expect to be ignored.

Post it in EcuaMobi's thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3035620.0

You're more likely to get a quicker response from there. Or simply sending EM a PM is probably the quickest way.

It just sucks seeing the self-moderated and/or locked topics keep popping up in the marketplace. Every time I see one, I think to myself that another sucker is about to get got... Sad
528  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Marketing on: March 24, 2018, 10:41:32 AM
This topic is in the wrong board. Project Development is for the organization of projects, not for discussions about organizational services. I'd suggest moving it to Bitcoin Discussion.

You can find the "move topic" button if you scroll to the bottom of the page.

With that said, here are a couple articles that I've bookmarked about crypto marketing:

529  Economy / Reputation / Re: Trust Spammer and Abuser " The Pharmist" Back on business on: March 24, 2018, 10:30:51 AM
Stop being melodramatic, if you care so much you should just buy a fresh account. One thing I will say is I wish TP was consistent in his approach to account dealing. If you're going to tag people for it, I don't think it is really fair to be selective about it.
An example of this can be found where? Is this another case of "You're doing something wrong. Even though I haven't pointed out exactly what it is, I'll still complain about it."?

I don't think it's just that TP is being selective; I think it's because they can't get to all of the account dealers/buyers due to a lack of visibility. I know it sounds rare, but not everyone spends all day and night on the forums Shocked

MadZ, if you ever come across a dealer or buyer that hasn't been tagged, try sending the link of the thread to The Pharmacist.

Unless you're referencing an incident that happened that I'm not aware about... Then yes, please show an example.

After 3 weeks of activating the account that OP has sent me, I just wanted to report that the account is still working. I have just installed an update with no problems.

I'm on a Mac, but this is valid for either Mac or PC.

I'll report back in a few weeks time with another status update for those inquisitive potential buyers!
532  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Venting on: March 24, 2018, 08:58:28 AM
You sure that the amount you sent was excluding the fee??

Everyone knows how high the fee is.. now.. I do think that.. maybe it was the fee that they took out .

I haven't? faced an issue like this that has unprecedented or unacceptable it's just how the network is...

And about it being slow we all know that...

Well you should use a better wallet..or something.

Well everyone is now facing the problem with high fee. Every wallet include their own fee but remember too low fee means delay in tx confirmation.  You can customize your fee. I my self use the same method to decrease the fees, Also you can move your wallet to coin base. There's no fee applied in transaction if you send from coinbase to coinbase, It fast and safe to some extent.

Did you really post in a thread that hadn't been posted in for 2 months to address an issue that is no longer relevant? I wasn't going to say anything at first, but realized that others might see this and actually pick up the shit you're putting down...

"Well everyone is now facing the problem with high fee."

Uh, when was the last time you sent a Bitcoin transaction? The last transaction I made was confirmed in the next block for a whopping fee of $0.10.

And if anyone actually does listen to this buffoon, please do not move your wallet to coinbase. Ever. You'll have no control over your private keys, and with all of the recent glitches and hacking of exchanges, you don't want to risk having your money in a hot wallet where you don't control your own private key.
533  Other / Meta / Re: TMAN'S guide to getting merit. on: March 24, 2018, 08:23:00 AM
thanks for sending over the merit hunters, you dick.

Just kidding.

Thanks for the kudos and the plug, sir! Cheesy

I don't mind taking in the bounty and merit hunters. I spend a lot of time critiquing their posts, and I really hope that they do take the criticism well and apply it.

For everyone reading this, TMAN is right. Although I've done it in the past, I rarely merit [non-technical] posts that are poorly constructed. While a lot of people complain that it's not fair that non-native English speakers have a disadvantage here, you have to remember that this forum is an English-speaking forum. No one is forcing them to be here, and there are no "rights" as a member here. Simply stated, you have to adhere to the rules and policies of the forums, not the other way around. Bitcointalk does not have to cater to you. Being here is a privilege, not a right. Same with bounties and campaigns.

So it's only fair that many OG members of the forums here are going to frown upon third-world posters who make very little effort to "fit in". Fitting in is definitely possible, as I have made friends with a few users here that caught me by surprise when I learned that English was not their first language.

With that, moving to and living in a third-world country myself, I have encountered a lot of ESL people. They ask me to help teach them proper English, and for the ones with smart phones and computers, I point them towards duolingo. They make it EXTREMELY easy to start learning English for 5 minutes a day. I think that 5 minutes is a minor investment of time to make in order to brush up your skills.

Give them a shot. It's free.

Thanks for posting this, TMAN.
534  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Joe's Signatureless Challenge: Win $25 ($10 for 2nd) + 8 Merits every week! on: March 24, 2018, 07:55:17 AM
As promised, I've sent 2 merits to nullius for this post and I believe that it was their best one, however, this guy is one serious geek we need over this forum.
And, 1 more merit to Blue Tyrant as a consolation prize for this post.

I hope I am doing my job in kinda better way, sorry for being late as I was busy with something.

I would like to contribute more and will be rewarding 2nd place for Round 3 with 3 merits.

Awesome, thank you so much! I will make sure to update the prizes and top post.

i like the challenge and hope it will help to raise the quality bar and help with merit generation, that is so critical for most of the users now. it would be impossible to completely eliminate the chance of challenge abuse, but it might help a lot of users as well (i hope ))

Great, thank you so much for your donation! I'm very excited to see that others are stepping forward to see an initiative like this succeed. Kudos!

Is there still have a chance for me to join or could you take me to your list for next round?

Wao. This is a very interesting contest. I would love to participate in this contest! Now I have the opportunity to participate?

As indicated in the original post, you can participate and apply at any time. Upon sending your applications, you will be placed in Round 4, unless it is sent after 9PM on Monday, March 26. Then you will be placed in Round 5. Bring it on, and good luck!
535  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | 0.00075 BTC/post on: March 22, 2018, 06:57:35 PM
I do the same as you audaciousbeing. I read through hundreds of threads per week, and definitely avoid adding anything to the topic if I feel that it won’t be contributing. There are times I would like to embellish on other users’ posts at times, but in the spirit of better judgment, I usually decide that their replies are good enough for me to not have to post just for the sake of posting.

And I have said it before, and I will say it again: @DarkStar_ has done and continues to do a phenomenal job of pruning and manicuring great members of this campaign. Having recently started a posting challenge, I know the work and time involved in reviewing no more than half of the amount of posts that he has to on a weekly basis. It is not an easy task by any means.
536  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Joe's Signatureless Challenge: Win $25 ($10 for 2nd) + 8 Merits every week! on: March 22, 2018, 06:49:42 PM
Thanks for the support, guys. This goes to show that there are, in fact, more people that understand the ideology behind this challenge. Is it ironic that the host is wearing a signature from a paid signature campaign? Absolutely, it is. Is it also ironic that the host himself is not a merit source? Again, absolutely. But I am putting up my own cash, amen my own merits, as many others are. The 8 merits that the only merit source sponsor provides is done so to quality posts that deserve merit. The moment that quality posts stop being produced by participants in this challenge is the moment that I will revisit the merit rewards. If you look in past posts, I have already expressed my concerns with the amount of merit being awarded via this challenge, and have also commmitted to revisiting the reward structure if and when the time arrives that the post quality becomes an issue. As of now, it’s a non-issue, so I appreciate the members who have recognized the overall value in this challenge, and having a roundup to find quality posts.

Are some of the posts by participants “garbage posts”? Yup. But rather than ignoring these posts, like most forum members do, I provide criticism to help these users to understand why their posts are considered lower than par. What they decide to do with that criticism is purely up to them, just like it’s purely up to the sponsors to do with their cash and merits as they deem fit.

If @digaran had his way, it seems apparent that he believes that only merit sources should be allowed to merit posts, period. Look at my sMerit history. I am not contributing to any so-called merit farming accounts. I do send merit responsibly.

@bill gator, you hit the nail on the head with your reply about becoming a merit source. I can only imagine that the staff have to review countless applications because of the newly-founded merit system. Obviously, they will make a few mistakes along the way, such as the mistake they made when making @digaran a merit source. But this, in no way, means that I am not spending my sMerit irresponsibly. In fact, I find that the method in which @digaran chooses not to award merits to be much more irresponsible than my method of utilizing this challenge to identify and award merits to deserving posts.

So much irony has been posted in the past several pages here, but it doesn’t seem that @digaran will stop with his skewed opinion, so I encourage everyone to stop addressing him at this point, and moving forward. I shall do the same.

Thanks to everyone for supporting this cause, and I look forward to reviewing all the posts of the Round 3 participants!

Edit: I wonder who's alt you are...

Lol forgive me. It was 5:30 in the morning after an all-nighter staring at the computer screen.

So you have earned most of your merits from marketplace and trading discussion.
A quick look at BTCforJoe's Merit history shows that he's earned a lot from Joe's Signatureless Challenge. But you knew that already, as you've posted in that thread.
The Services board is part of the Marketplace board, that's the reason.

@digaran’s posts are never clear; I’m wondering what his implications are in stating that most of my merits were earned in the marketplace and trading sections. I obviously posted the stats based on board categories instead of individual subcategories. But if anyone questions my merit score sources, I can easily break it down further. I don’t see why it would be necessary, though, given that my data has proven OP’s theory and claim to be incorrect.

Hola. Another ChipMixerite here.

Since you seem to be targeting ChipMixer, why don't you showcase all of the participants' merit data, instead of simply claiming that

...the merits most people in chipmixer campaign have received is either exchanged between them or they have received from posting in meta

I'm fairly certain that you don't understand the definition of the word "most"

I would personally go through ChipMixer's individual member merit data, but I'm not the one who has a bone to pick with ChipMixer. But I'll make it easy for you and give you my merit data, as of now (March 22):

I have now spent entirely way too much time to prove a point: that you don't have any clue what "most" or "80%" means. I was going to go through all of my sMerit stats, along with the stats for merits that I have sent/received to/from ChipMixerites vs. non-ChipMixerites, but given the rather large discrepancy with your claim vs. the true results, I'm no longer going to waste my time with disproving your fallacy of a "drawback".

Oh, and for the record:

You seem to be having a problem with how to words. Please try again.

540  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling About 100k USD worth of Bitcoins Daily @ market rate + Singapore seller on: March 22, 2018, 10:16:27 AM

If Bitcointradesg wants to sell. he will tell the escrow about this. and then the escrow if HE seems that BITCOINTRADESG is a trusthworthy trader, then will communicate with me and we will start the bussines.

This is incorrect; this is not the way that an escrow works. The escrow is there to eliminate the need for trust between the buyer and seller. There is no trust needed on the escrow's part to either the buyer or the seller, but rather the other way around: the buyer and seller need to trust the escrow before any business is conducted.

It's quite simple. Once an escrow is opened, if either of the parties do not submit the product/payment, the escrow will return whatever they have received and cancel the exchange. The escrow does not require any trust in the seller, as they are there to represent the trust on both party's behalf.

Either way, this deal is obviously convoluted; I would personally avoid dealing with each other with this exchange.

OP, you never answered my question about which rate you're selling at. In the title, you indicate that you're selling at market rate, yet within the thread you state +6%. Which is it??
