521  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What should newbies do in trading? on: December 13, 2023, 09:58:28 PM
I'm also beginner in trading. I trade since this summer and I lost about $90 on $120 account. Recently I make $20 on last $34.
Throughout my journey in trading, I read Jack Schwager's book, watched many educational videos on YouTube, read many articles on the educational sections of CEX exchanges, and also talked with many traders. It seems to me that I understand enough about technical analysis, trading systems and trader psychology. But I'm at a dead end and don't know what to do next. Other traders advised me to just trade, but I think that over time I will lose my remaining $45, and demo trading does not bring such emotions and I don’t want to try hard when trading it
Acquiring knowledge is different from acquiring skills in trading. You need constant exposure and trading in the market so you can be a good and reliable traders. In your case since all you got are just pure knowledge but lack of experience, expect that you will really suck your first trades. My advise is never start trading unless you are ready, and you are ready to lose as well. For now, just take a break and continue educating yourself in trading, at least you will know what to do in instances like that the next time you trade.
522  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will you do if your country did not legalize cryptocurrency? on: December 13, 2023, 09:30:05 PM
Bitcoin is a very useful thing to many people. It has provided very good opportunities, job opportunity, trading opportunity and lots more for many people to earn money for their essentials of life. Bitcoin halving is fast approaching, giving many people hope of investment, and making reasonable profit at the end. Yet in some countries it is completely illegal. What will you do if you are a fan of bitcoin but your country did not legalize cryptocurrency?
A lot of countries are still not legalizing cryptocurrency but they don't dwell with crypto investors and traders as they give freedom whatever their citizens chosen careers. So if I'm living this kind of country, I think I don't have to worry continue to access with my cryptos because the country itself is not going to kill us either. As long as we don't do crimes, then we are safe from putting in jail.
523  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney (9th of December) on: December 13, 2023, 01:00:05 PM

IMO, Haney will have second thoughts on whether he will fight Garcia as the latter is taller than him and heavy-handed and also quick which would pose problems for him. That lucky punch is one thing that Haney avoided and Garcia has that so I think he won't pick Garcia unless the price is right.

I don't think Garcia is ready for Haney because that could be an easy win for him all he needs to do is set up a good defense and make Garcia tired as usual. Garcia needs to at least excel in all efforts to improve his stamina and win some fights as easily as before because, with that kind of conditioning, he won't be surviving a kind of opponent like Haney because these guys are masters when it comes to 12 rounds non-stop actions inside the ring.

Bai, I agree with yazher. Grin Ryan Garcia is easy work for Devin Haney. Ryan is tall which means his body is easier to hit and Haney might be light-handed but he is too quick and smart. So far Ryan remains unproven to me. Ryan might be quick on his training but he cannot execute them and will have doubts when inside the ring against caliber fighters. He carries a punch though but based on his last fights and at 140, Devin Haney will enter the ring not dehydrated so he will be stronger, quicker and I also believe he can stop Ryan in the mid to late rounds. It will be a brutal massacre IMO. Ryan's face gets disfigured and his body will be colored red from those body punches by Haney.

It's easy to tell by just comparing their performance in their previous fight.

Though both fighters have won the fight but it was Haney who made a very dominant win, a unanimous decision win from a challenger, and now he is the current champion. While on Ryan's fight, it wasn't even a championship fight and he struggled a bit against a figther that does not owned a good ranking before the fight.

Ryan does not deserve Haney, but for fans to be entertain, this should happen, however, I'm not expecting Ryan will have a shot at winning.
524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has anyone here started with a decent bankroll in sports? on: December 13, 2023, 12:19:02 PM
the house always has the advantage. Betting small is good,

Betting small is beneficial as it helps prevent potential financial strain. However, in sports betting, it's crucial to understand that you're not wagering against a house; instead, you're betting with the odds set by providers. It's essentially a matter of choosing a side, and given that there are other bettors who may choose differently, the outcome determines the winner in the end.
525  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one is fun, watching with bet or without a bet? on: December 13, 2023, 06:35:24 AM
I normally bet a significant amount of money based on my limit. Based on my experience, when you are watching a game you bet with, you'll be able to experience mixed emotions, and that's normal which I think that would give a thrill in sports betting.

Of course, when you lose you feel sad, but it's not something that would stay for long, you still have time to bounce back and try to win.

I guess if you are really serious with gambling, you need to learn how to control your emotion first. The fact  that we are dealing with money here, it should be properly handle in order to grow it, but being weak emotionally, it might create problems along the way.
526  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: December 13, 2023, 06:12:05 AM
Back to the action.

2 games will be played today.

First game DYIP vs Converge. I'm leaning on the converge here as they have a good chance of breaking their losing streak against a team that aren't so strong. While on the 2nd game, we have TNT vs NLEX, and since NLEX has been struggling so far, I'm not backing them this game, instead TNT is going to be my pick. I might just parlay the TNT + Converge bet.

You'll get at least +100 if you do a parlay on the two favorites.
I would, that's a pretty decent odds already betting on a favorites that is expected to likely win the game. I have a little doubt with the converge, while on TNT, I'm assuring they'll have an easy win. So best of luck, let's get this win.

Currently, the spread are as follows.

1- Converge -3
2- TNT -7.5

I'm sure NLEX will be so desperate to win here as with their new import, they haven't won a game yet. Last time they were blown out by the ROS losing by 12 points,  so with TNT, I don't think they have a chance to win specially that TNT's import is so dominant.

They (Converge) haven't win a single game yet, so I guess they are more desperate than the NLEX. I'm just hoping now, and if they wouldn't start well, I might place a live bet with Converge moneyline.

530  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney (9th of December) on: December 12, 2023, 01:30:07 PM
Ryan is calling everybody even if he's not anymore a star. Haney may take the challenge and probably even win.
He knows his value mate, his a PPV boy. Even if he is not a champion now, i think we can consider him as a star since he is very popular in boxing. And with his recent win, we can see that he wants to come back and I wouldn't be surprise if he'll get a championship fight soon since promoters would be happy to see him in the ring as the fight will surely sell to the crowd, and of course to the PPV subscribers.

Ryan is only confident from the outside. Inside, he's a sad, lonely, and fearful little boy.

We know what he went through, he admitted he had some mental health issue, but he's fine now, at least that's what his camped said.
531  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Correction is possible in bitcoin price? After 40,000$ on: December 10, 2023, 08:41:05 PM
Bitcoin prices have been on the rise for the past two to three weeks, with no significant correction observed during this period. Currently, the bitcoin price hovers around $39,300. The surge in bitcoin prices can be attributed to the news of ETF approval circulating in the market.

However, what is your opinion? Do you anticipate a potential drop in the bitcoin price, revisiting $30,000 after reaching $40,000, or do you believe it will continue its upward trajectory towards $50,000?
Both are possible, but if I were to guess, I am quite optimistic to see bitcoin price soaring high in the next days. And with its possible price drop, it will always happen but no one knows when its going to start taking place. But I don't see minding for bitcoin price to see dropping again, in fact it will be a good opportunity to buy more Bitcoin while having it's price decline. After that, we will witness again bitcoin price to skyrocket once again.

However, with the ETF approval news and bitcoin halving becoming near, I don't see any reason for bitcoin price to drop but with its high volatility, certainly it will eventually happen again.
532  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No risk no reward on: December 10, 2023, 01:39:30 PM
It's certain that in all aspects of life, if you don't deal with the risks, there'll be no gains as well. Same scenario if you enter crypto investment, if you can't manage its risks, then you'll be at the losing end. However, not all the time that you take the risks, you will end up with positive rewards. Some may experience frequent losses at first, until they become more inclined to their investment and experience progress and profitability later on.

In addition, not all those who stake higher, receives bigger rewards. Most especially for beginner investors, a lot of them are greedy and would want to invest more than they can afford to lose, but still end up into deep losses and become more buried into debts.
533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 10, 2023, 09:19:08 AM
EDIT: 5 straight points by the Pacers, cutting the lead to 3, Obi's 3 and then a steal for a layup.
This small run by the Pacers during the start of the fourth quarter got me nervous since it had a lot of back and forth. And then the Lakers got their turn to push the lead back to double digits.

Even though the Pacers lost, it was still impressive that the game remained competitive despite their low shooting percentages.

so congrats in advance kabayan for that ML bet.
Thanks, and congrats to everyone else who backed the Lakers.  Smiley

Congrats! The Lakers managed to bring that game to their favor after that short run by the Pacers, I did not manage to watch the game and I failed to spare some coins for them. They play great game as AD really dominates, plus Reaves and LeBron back him up to produce decent numbers that they needed to secure the win.

Pacers on the other hand, did really try working to keep the gap close, but not enough to make a rally to snatch the game. It's a sweet win with a decent ML!

If AD played like that consistently, we could easily assert that the Lakers are a championship team.

The way they made the usual scorers for the Pacers, Hali, and Turner, struggle speaks volumes about how strong their defense is. It's the experience of the Lakers was their weapon in this championship game, marking another chapter in the history of LeBron and AD working together. Congratulations to the bettors; I'm sure we have many silent winners here, as the Lakers were the obvious picks.
534  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney (9th of December) on: December 10, 2023, 05:00:02 AM
@Japinat. Agreed! He is much stronger in this higher weight division, however, he did not lose his speed and stamina. There are boxers who lose some stamina because of the heavier weight. But as I mentioned already, Devin Haney is young and growing. This is certainly not his real weight division. He will go heavier and he might be champion in 2 more divisions.
This is probably the best fight for Haney that I've witnessed, he was dominating this fight and I doubt Prograis even won a single round. The fight is over, I didn't wait for the decision as it's very obvious Haney will be declared as the winner via unanimous decision. Welcome to our new Champ, and congratulations to the bettors who won betting on Haney to in outright or via decision.
535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney (9th of December) on: December 10, 2023, 04:26:19 AM
Prograis got knock down in the 3rd round, damn, Haney is fun to watch now, he is dictating the fight. Prograis trying to throw some jab but he ain't hitting, if he cannot hurt Haney, I'd say this would end like an easy win for Haney if it goes to distance, but there's a possibility that Prograis will be knock out as he looks tired even this early.

536  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: December 10, 2023, 03:14:31 AM
expectations vs reality as we all know that we expect a good number of points by the star player of barangay ginebra San Miguel but in reality they didn't have much points even though they are doing their very Best but their effort didn't enough to beat their opponent . Anyways tomorrow's game is very good watch as we all know that magnolia will have a good chance to win us as we all know that thses both team are sisters company.

Ginebra was only limited with 77 points, that's not them, you can really tell that they struggle on their shooting, the ball movement isn't so efficient.

Ahanmissi was probably the missing link, he's expecting to bring offense to the team but he only scored 4 points in the game, he had a bad game and that affected the team a lot. 1-8 shooting only, no one could win if one of their superstars shoot like that, and it seemed like he lost his confidence because of a bad start, i think he shoud have continued shooting until he gets his rthym.
537  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you think people can overcome any danger if they want to? on: December 09, 2023, 08:45:21 PM
Everything is possible as long as there is good motivation and determination to reach your goal. What you experience at the moment may only be temporary, and there's always high chances to change them if you take the risk in changing them. However, in your case your goal is to be a crypto investor because you want to help your family to overcome the difficulties in life. That is very possible with bitcoin and crypto, but never expect that it will happen with just a blink of an eye. Everything takes time and we should put a lot of studies and hardwork for it to make it happen. And of course, the right amount of patience to keep calm despite of the unpredictable market.

If other people have been successful with crypto, then why can't we, or why can't you? People just need to work on it, so that what you desire is what you will gain in the future.

They are having a tour now, I think this game is played in Batangas, I just forgot the location when it was mentioned.
Currently it's a close game, but you know, 2nd half is the favorite period of Ginebra as they usually have good run on the finishing quarters.
That's why.. Maybe that's the reason why we are witnessing a low scoring game now, the unfamiliarity of the court.

First half has ended, Ginebra took the lead with 36-43.
Those who missed the pregame odds, we have a live betting lines available, as for the handicap, we have Ginebra -7.5 at 1.85(odds).

Actually, it's quite funny, beacuse when it's played on their usual venue, only few people would attend, here, you can see lots fo people watching, it's like an MPBL feel.

This is an on tour, the gym is not as big as the usual gym they're using, so it's expected that the a lot of people will watch the game. I think it's even sponsored by the local government, so probably tickets are free.
539  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 09, 2023, 10:56:00 AM

So if Bivol gets Canelo's 2nd fight with PBC I wonder if Benavidez will ever get his shot at the real title. If Canelo somehow beats Bivol in the rematch, I expect him to take Crawford as his last fight of the contract and go back to Matchroom.

I think it's only fair that there should be a trilogy for their fight. Bivol could have declined a rematch with Canelo after beating him, but he agreed to it. Therefore, if Canelo is a true warrior, he should give Bivol a chance to determine the better fighter between them. This can only be settled through another rematch.
540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe you can win on sports betting by analyzing a betting lines only? on: December 09, 2023, 07:43:10 AM

Although it requires a little bit of math to understand, but being a bookie is a profitable business as compared to being a gambler.

Because these are two seperate things, bookies are pure business, while gamblers are clients/customers, and most of the time it's the bookies who make money reason why it's easy for them to expand. We should know our chances of winning, although we might assume that there's no house edge in sports betting, but mathematically, sportsbook are design to be profitable and bookmakers are ensuring it'll happen.

but not everyone can become a bookie because it needs a lot of initial capital which the ordinary gamblers do not possess.

Few bookies, and lots of gamblers, that's the norm in sports gambling.
