541  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: January 13, 2024, 01:24:17 PM
. Anyway, this is still related to PBA and with some updates from the SBP about our national team Gilas, there is going to be a new official coach. Who's your guess, will it be Tim Cone, CTB, Norman Black, Ayo, who else?

New coach? Why? This is insane, Tim Cone coach our national team and brought us gold, why can't they make him as our regular coach? I say, there's no other coach that could deliver success to our country with our national team, it's only Tim Cone and not on the choices of coaches you mentioned. This is an international game, we saw how Tim Cone did beating China and RHJ's team in the Finals.
Tim Cone was just temporary by that time when he's in for the Asiad. I think that by this time, there's already a coach and they just have to announce it but I don't know when they're going to announce it. IMO, Tim Cone was actually good and he's got a different spirit than of Chot who keeps on gathering learning experiences.

I see, so  we will know soon if Tim Cone would really be the permanent coach of the team. Good thing Chot Reyes was not in the list, LOL. This guy destroyed our team and coach Tim Cone were able to fix that in just a short span of time, that's how extraordinary he is.

If they were able to retain coach Reyes that is full of criticism, why would they replace a coach (Tim Cone) that is full of praise for the success he brought?
They have given him the chance but Chot didn't deliver well and didn't listen to the fans. Whilst this time, one factor that the SBP rep said is that the next coach that the Gilas will have is the one who listens to the fans and everything for the sake and good of the team and country.
If the fans were not complaining, I doubt SBP will replace coach Chot. We might hear the endless "learning experience" every time we lose.
Fans got tired, they want a new one and good thing Tim Cone accept the challenge.

Thanks, I read it already. Fresh news but we know the news on their next update already, as it will be Tim Cone that will head the team.

I don't understand anymore if this news you brought up is true.
543  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling all about luck? on: January 13, 2024, 10:59:04 AM
Gambling and trading is literally a different thing especially on how things work, where in trading you can reduce the risk by acquiring knowledge, skills, patient and etc. Of course it is still involved luck cause no matter skilled you are if the market is down, it would be hard to trade especially in a stable market with less volatility.
I have no disagreement with this. Although trading is more feasible than gambling but trading is not for everyone, there's no guarantee that when you trade you'll be profitable. There are day traders and long term traders, that's why it's divided because these two requires different approach. And for me, day trading is quite risky, it's just like a gambling also because you'll be guessing a short term market movement based on different factors, but you could go wrong since it's more on speculation and the likes.

While in gambling, it is definitely pure luck as there's a lot of probability and chances before you have the possibility of winning like having a good hands and jackpot. Even if you are smart, if luck ain't on your side, then you would probably loss a lot.
Pure luck? Not really, if you have the skills and you go with the skilled based gambling type, I think you'll be able to succeed in the future. And just like trading, gambling is not for everyone, it's only for the gifted people, which I think no one could be profitable when doing both gambling and trading.

one at a time!
544  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Knowing Bitcoin price history is important on: January 13, 2024, 12:00:40 AM
History may have chances to repeat itself so it's essential to learn the history at least. Most particularly for bitcoin where it's price movement is unpredictable due to its high volatility, then I believe by knowing its price history, you will gain ideas and insights as to where its price movement is heading.

While analyzing the market charts and patterns are of high importance, it's also a must that you should learn how to predict the market so you will know when to best trade and when not to. History is quite important, but we should always give more focus to its present price as it could create a huge impact on the outcome of our trading or investing.
545  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this the end of excitement on: January 12, 2024, 11:17:07 PM
I have been buying small amounts of bitcoin for over 10 years. While I was always knew bitcoin would grow I did hope that some events might make it jump up in price say 3 to 5 times. Events like etf approval, a harvening etc. I still remember those charts that had predicted supersonic prices by now. But now read that both the etf and harvening aew now priced in and yet the price is not even an earlier all time high.

Does that mean the excitement days are over. Has bitcoin become boring in terms of big price fluctuations☹️

It's hard to believe that you survive your 10 years of bitcoin accumulation if your mindset is like that. Know that bitcoin never stops to be volatile, so most probably bitcoin is still not at its best today that we should force it to gain its all time high. Rather than expecting a lot from bitcoin these days that it will immediately go to the moon, why not use this opportunity to accumulate more so you can prepare for the imminent bitcoin halving.

Bitcoin is not boring, and has never been. It always offers us a roller coaster ride, that's up for us how we will anticipate the price movement of bitcoin.
546  Economy / Economics / Re: Growth mindset versus fixed mindset on: January 12, 2024, 10:59:53 PM
Growth mindset= Mature people
Fixed mindset= Immature people

Most of the time, people will never grow because of their ego and pride. They always wanted to be the star of the show, they don't want to be the wrong, they are always right. In short, they are the most annoying people you'll ever find. These kind of people will only mature to a growth mindset when something terrible happened to their lives, they will start listening to other's advices and opinions.
Having a growth mindset has always its  advantages over a fixed mindset. Rather than having a fixed and limited mindset, wherein your scope of understanding is always in controlled, then it would be wiser to be more open for different chances and opportunities that will come into your life so that you will experience growth and development rather than being stucked to what is traditional and what you are being used to.

There's always a need for us to grow and broaden our horizons, and not to set limits because frankly speaking, those who have fixed and limited mindset are those who are susceptible to scamming and losses.
547  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin ETF Approval; Price dumps, what Next? on: January 12, 2024, 10:23:34 PM
We can't hold different expectations of the people most particularly for those who are very positive about bitcoin ETF approval. Even myself, I have this feeling that if bitcoin ETF will finally be approved, we will see bitcoin price skyrocketing. But it seems bitcoin is not yet ready for that, then we should learn to adjust.

Just remember that bitcoin is highly volatile. It has its own timeframe when to increase its price and when to see it dropping. Patience is a must so we just have to wait when bitcoin price will start to skyrocket and reach its new all time high.
548  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 12, 2024, 02:51:36 PM
The Lakers' goal is not to finish the season in first place anyway Smiley

Because they can't. Lakers loss 6 games on their last 10 games, that's quite below average of a good team that won the IST championship. And the Lakers team is the team of Lebron, I mean, he is a hall of famer, so we can't see this team struggling as NBA is still exciting to watch with the Lakers in the playoffs. if they were just an ordinary team, people would not talk a lot about them, but no, they are a superstar team with Lebron and Davis, on the team, so seeing them struggling in their past games is quite dissapointing, plus the video of the coach of raptors complaining on their loss against the Lakers is circling, that would question the capability of the Lakers, and do they win only because they got some help from the refs, or the league?
549  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to bet for (ALMOST) FREE on crypto casinos on: January 12, 2024, 01:25:31 PM
A newbie created an account today and and shared some secrets to make easy money; it seems a bit dubious. Hey man, sorry, but I find this very risky since the poster above mentioned something about KYC. I can't risk my information for quick money, which is uncertain. For your information, casinos don't give money for 'almost free.' It doesn't align with their business goal, which is to be profitable, unless they get something in return, and what that is could be?
550  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou - March 9 on: January 12, 2024, 12:18:32 PM
I think 5.60 via KO doesn't have that much value.  I'd rather take it straight at 4.20.  Not a big difference.

5.60 KO for me too, I think if Ngannou will win, it would be by KO. AJ showed some weakness in his previous fights, while AJ are trying to make a strategy on how to defeat Ngannou, I'm sure the camp of Ngannou also understands that and will focus on their own strategy. With heavyweight fights from KO artist, going to judges decision is less likely, so it should be a KO.
551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DCA (Dollar Cost Averaging) method is a simple way to invest in Bitcoin on: January 11, 2024, 11:59:50 PM
Certainly yes. DCA is not just the easiest and simplest, but the safest option as well so you can avoid one time losing or losing a huge amount when you intend to sell at a wrong timing. So if you are planning to invest in bitcoin but worry because of having only small capital, then you are wrong with that. Bitcoin is only expensive if you chose to buy a whole portion of it.

However, if you invest using DCA, even the smallest amount that you can afford to lose is good enough. Either if you do it weekly, bi monthly or monthly, that’s up to you as long as you only spend a portion of your income that you are comfortable of losing.
552  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How diverse is your crypto portfolio? on: January 11, 2024, 11:31:48 PM
If you don't have Warren Buffett kind of capital, then it's definitely a bad idea to "diversify" your "portfolio". What we plebs need to do is keep it simple and invest in two or three good cryptocurrencies with Bitcoin getting the largest portion of the investment for "stability". It's funny saying that because Bitcoin is also volatile.

Personally, I have everything HODLed in Bitcoin, and although I might have lesser returns than if I invested in shitcoins, I'm very confident that my money is in the safest, most sound investment in crypto.
There’s no rule actually that says you need to diversify your bitcoin investment with altcoins or meme coins. Bitcoin alone is good enough, as long as you hold a bigger amount of it. However, if your aim is to diversify so you can maximize your future returns of investment, then you can invest in real estate or stocks as well. At least, you know for sure that its value will never depreciate in the long run but will always rise its value significantly.

It’s only safe to invest in altcoins when you are at the right coins, but investing in wrong altcoins will only make your capital end up at a high loss.
553  Economy / Economics / Re: Will the world soon become tired of the US dollar? on: January 11, 2024, 11:01:00 PM
While USD remains to be the official currency, then there’s no reason that people will eventually get tired on using it. However, with the emergence of cryptocurrency particularly bitcoin, they will find it a more convenient mode of payment than USD, and will gradually become a choice of payment system in the future.

But, this will only be possible if the government will legalize and accept bitcoin as a reserved currency, which means if they find it more convenient to use bitcoin than fiat, then they’re free to use it without being restricted by the government.
554  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would it be like owning a Bitcoin in 2024? on: January 11, 2024, 10:33:41 PM
Despite of the high risks, it’s still ideal to buy and own bitcoin for our future benefits. And once we started owning bitcoin, it’s our responsibility to secure its privacy and safety by storing it in a non-custodial wallet wherein others cannot access but only ourselves. With that, it’s always safe not to disclose private information about our wallet and even our owned bitcoins, that is to get rid from the scammers that are always eyeing for their next victim.

Owning bitcoin holds high responsibility, hence if you have no knowledge about bitcoin and its investment, then never dare to enter bitcoin investment. Bitcoin has a lot more of valuable to offer but you should also learn to pay its price and it’s associated risks.
555  Economy / Economics / Re: How to stay poor! on: January 11, 2024, 07:59:24 PM
To continue being poor, keep doing what OP has said above. Smiley Actually, what OP said, should be a motivation for smart people. And if you want to improve your economy in your life, it's better to start by controlling yourself, managing your finances to be a better. Because no one wants to stay poor right? everyone wants a more comfortable life in old age.
And on the contrary, if you want to get rich, learn to avoid what OP has told us. Everyone wants to get rich of course but it’s hard to get rich when you are used doing the opposite way. Hence, by not focusing on one source of income, by not overspending, and by not being so generous all the time, you will get eventually rich in the process.

Well, I don’t say that you have to live your life the hard way, but live your life accordingly, which means by having self-discipline and control over yourself, you will live your life being productive and progressive.
556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Long-term profitable strategies on: January 11, 2024, 01:48:30 PM
     -     What kind of profitable long-term investment are you talking about, Op? Are you saying that gambling can be profitable? Isn't it true when we say profitable that it can be a form of investment? I don't see any investment in gambling, is there?
It's up to you on how you see it, if you are really profitable in gambling, then you can call it as an investment. But, as we all know, we aren't that type of gambler who make our gambling activity pofitable, so for us it's impossible but I believe it's possible for others, but only few of them are successful.

Is the choice of games to be played, whether slots, sportsbet, and others, considered a form of investment? Although the risk management is difficult, I can say that it will somehow help our gamblers in the field of crypto space.

Take out the house edge and start working on your strategy and then they might succeed. However, make sure to choose the game, and slots. , not part of the games that could make you profitable, is there to make you bankrupt if you persist.
557  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The best decision you can take on: January 10, 2024, 11:37:54 PM
Now, if you or we know that you already know how to get a profit in trading, there is no reason for us to feel uneasy about the trading we will do because we know what to do inside the trading platform to get of profit. And that will happen through tool indicators.
Being unsure about market movements is common but with a long term position it becomes clear. Like I can buy at 10k USD and I know that in the next year or so it will cross 20k USD. But things may not be so clear if you are going for the short term.

So analysis dont always work out, after all TA is a pseudo-science is is only an indicator to predict the outcome, the opposite is correct in 50% cases too. But buying low and selling high is not that difficult to comprehend. You would not be buying at 50k USD considering the correct price but you would want to buy at 40k or 50k USD.
Unfortunately, people are not patient enough to wait for profits in long term, as most often they become eager to gain quick profits and just sell whenever they feel like profiting. That’s why a lot of traders end up losing and quit trading not because they don’t have the skills to trade, but for obvious reason, they don’t have what it takes to be a patient trader.

While investing requires patience, much more for trading as you need to analyze the market well before you decide to take risk in trading. When you think that the market is not favorable to trade, then it’s better to delay trading rather than seeing your capital lost in a sudden.
558  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hold than trade. Just don't use leverage, futures. on: January 10, 2024, 10:59:23 PM
It depends on each market moment. Of course, in sensitive times like these, holding is much safer than trading. But if 1 or 2 months ago when the market increased strongly, it would be a waste if we just held and ignored the trade. As you can see, in the past 2 months, almost the entire market has recovered very well and if someone took advantage of that, they would have increased their capital significantly.

Holding or trading has its advantages and disadvantages, it all depends on the strategy and skills of each investor. Not everyone who holds will always be a winner and those who trade will always be losers.
Certainly, there’s always a perfect time when to hold and when to trade. You cannot just trade when you see the market is very unstable, just like you can’t just continue hodling when you see others are already trading in profits. So there’s always the best time when to take advantage from hodling and trading, but as long as when you consider trading even for small profits, I still think your action is valid knowing you still end up with profits.

560  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto: a place where everyone makes money, but few secure it on: January 10, 2024, 10:00:37 PM
When there is lacking of knowledge, people will resort into overspending rather than saving their funds for their future use. That is what mostly happening to those who are earning a lot like having a successful bitcoin investment. You’d think that you will gain consistent profits so you tend to change your lifestyle and live life having all your wants rather than focus on your needs. And when your funds are starting to run out, that’s when you realize that at least you should have saved most of your funds than to spend it without limits.

Unfortunately, those who have lots of money are most likely were unable to secure it. Maybe because of lack of knowledge, and lack of future plans that’s why when they gain huge amount of money, they cannot sleep well unless they cannot spend it on their luxuries in life.
