I did not invest in the Dao. I taught that a crypto derivative with such a vast amount of money behind it this soon was asking for trouble. It has almost destroyed the whole ethereum idea. I stayed well clear then, and i also feel that way now. However, people have to decide for themselves. We were warned when we got involved that this was experimental. If you go to github and download the new wallet you get a warning and have to click that you agree.

I think there are lots of 2 GB cards out there. I have a bunch of 2GB cards so like the big farms I will mine feathercoin, it's been around for a while and is very stable,... its not on poloniex though. It's run by ex Oxford University Professors. They just lack the business ability. Do not under estimate nanoscrypt. Prices go up, prices go down. It's still early days. I just don't get the excitement, gutters, fight-or-flight, or what ever you call it like i used to. Just had to grab a few at 3.8mbtc though. Bitcoin takes for ages. Anyhow....
One thing i have not heard people talking about is DAG size. If we go to a Hybrid PoW/PoS and defuse the difficulty bomb at the same time, are we going to do something with the DAG? You can mine Expanse (Ethash) with a 1GB GPU as far as i understand. You need a minimum of 2GB GPU to mine Eth and Etc. But the DAG file is growing up over 1.5GB. Later this year 2GB GPUs will be no good on the current chain. Do we just lose those smaller cards?

It happened to CocaCola back in 1988 remember, but people didn't like the new improved "NewCocaCola", even though they had RunDMC promoting it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcHCjaBcH7MThey had to bring back the old "Classic CocaCola" along side "NewCocaCola" or people would just drink Pepsi. Within 6 months they dropped the "NewCocaCola", within 12 months they dropped the word "Classic" from the old one whos sales were booming. The rest is history. They had a hard time for a while though. It hurt the share price and caused uncertainty for a good while. But for a rebranding, if we need to, yes firehawk71 i do like the "Genesis" idea |

Why would ethtards want pos where the whales get richer? It makes no sense, it reminds me of gawtards
I don't think they understand that mining will end. They will either come to us and mine ETC when ETH goes to PoS or, they will sell their GPUs and stake the cash back into ETH. The people who buy those second hand GPUs will then be looking to mine a PoW coin i.e.ETC. Cutting off PoW just means other coins get the hashpower. This will be interesting to see how it all plays out.  |

Testing the Wallet ETH wallet that I downloaded on a clean Mac that has never had ETH on it... I made sure to select do not support fork and it seem to set up fine. I just made a tiny deposit from polinex to see if it would work. It showed up fine. I then made a wallet contract and tested it and it works fine also. But when I go to the new Explorer that was just made and punch in my deposit address I get a 404 error not found. I tried using my account number and then my tx number and then my new wallet number all with same results.
Any ideas why the new explorer is not seeing my balance? I only put in .29 ETC for testing all went fine except the explorer is not seeing it

If we are to remain inclusive we should be open to the idea of, finders keepers, losers weepers. People Knew the risk when investing in the Dao. We all know you never invest more than you can afford to lose. They should man up and take it on the chin, what's done is done. Time to move on and stop crying like a baby.
It's time to look forward not back.
Moreover, just because i am open to PoS/PoW hybrid for ETC, it does not mean that i will stake any of my money. That is for people to choose and work out the risk. There is no risk free investment

Nice to see theris been some updates and a new mist wallet come out. Will this fix the problem of having to download 2 lots of block chains or delete wallets. Maybe a future update to not cause problems is to have option built in to it to switch to ETC and you see your ETC coins and address then at a click of an option to move to ETC and have wallets their The new wallet is CLASSIC only, just one chain to download. If you want a client light wallet with no downloading of blockchain and a choice of ETC or ETH coins, you can use MyEtherWallet.com |

Also greenuser or whatever your name is, it's pretty hard to survive as just a miner,I used to be that way too, didn't want anything to do with trading at all. But I met somebody awhile back that was a wall Street trader and damn good at it, she spent several nights teaching me how to trade and do it right. My mining profits over the last 3 or 4 years were pretty damn good, but once I got trading figured out I can usually at least double my btc most of the time way better than that even. It takes a little work and time investment to learn but is really the only way to support yourself on just crypto. I pastebinned all of our sessions and got her permission to share because the philosophy was the better everyone is at trading the better for the market overall. I'll try and find the link, it's been a few years and Im working 12-14 hour days doing structured cabling for one of Microsofts new data centers so gimme a little time lol
I've done my share of trading. Before crypto in the 90s and early 2000 i was forex and Metals trading. I remember Easter 2011, $50 oz Silver. That was good fun. I still have a silver position. But as you get older, you care alot less about living in a constant state of "fight or flight", watching for green candles, using snow and working 24/7 as an electronics engineer.
