541  Economy / Reputation / Re: Tigggger's Reputation Thread on: June 07, 2014, 07:36:17 AM
Seems Bronan isn't the only one with this problem...

I just lost at least an hour with my primary pool and 1st backup removed from the list. I deleted the other pools that showed up and put my pools back in.  WTF???

Do I have to babysit this rig every few hours to make sure it stays on my pools?  I'm only 22 hours into a 24 hour rental and I already lost over one.  Ugh. I'm getting paranoid now about this rental.

Sorry you have had problems, not had this issue for a while and last time it coincided with some maintenance at leaserigs.

Can you tell me what pools were added it might help me/leaserigs figure out what is happening, I was asleep and nothing has been changed at my end.

All my machines point to the leaserig proxy on a local machine at 192.168.1.200:3333, that is the only pool set in the machine. The proxy gets the pool details from leaserigs and writes them to a pools.conf file on that machine, so the only way for the pools to change as far as I can see is for the leaserigs server to tell it to and write a new config file.

Everything seems to be running fine at the moment from what I can see, but will keep an eye on it. I will ensure that you get what you paid for.

EDIT:
Here is a screenshot from ghash.io that shows them stop mining on my pool when the lease started, and they haven't been active since

542  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: I am BUYING 4-8 TH/s - Make me an Offer - PM on: June 06, 2014, 06:10:09 PM
Its not a 1TH/s standalone unit..Its a a bigger number of old chip 200 GH/s Miners.

P.s. Question to all Members : Who would you recommend for ESCROW ?

Or should I just use PayPal to be on the safe site ?

Make sure you run the numbers properly, lots of small miners is much harder to run than 4-8 big ones, and older machines won't be as effecient using more power and producing more heat.  Doesn't matter how cheap they are if they cost more to run than they make.

Escrow: I've used SebastianJu who has a long history, OgNasty is currently doing an escrow for me.

Details sent

PS got a PM from a user pretending to be you. Reported to mods

Hi,

Thanks for your bid in my auction for 3XCointerra Terraminer ASIC's -

<snipped>

Nice try, would have been more convincing if you got the subject right as they weren't terraminers.

Good god you scammers are getting thicker.

546  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: June 06, 2014, 10:21:46 AM
On April 11 I cancelled our most recent order from kncminer.  On April 24 I received a "refund" that is short of the correct amount by more than $6,000 USD. I've gone round and round with support staff about this, and the final word (from Sam) is that they have no intention of paying me one cent more.

Sorry to pile on to this, but I thought it best to let you all know.

Can you explain how this came to be for the benefit of others who may be facing similar fraudulence?

sorry to hear they raped you too - the fearful part is we are going to get used to it and start liking it... Embarrassed

Yes please elaborate, I'd guess that the disputed amount revolves around the change in BTC price, OP is trying to get the same amount of BTC back that he paid, but KNC have refunded the $ amount, in which case there is no scam.
547  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [immediate delivery]1749USD for 1T BTC miner shipping via UPS/DHL on: June 06, 2014, 10:07:55 AM
No need,my friends:-)

I've had a few failed attempts to buy 1T miners off other vendors, none have inspired me with confidence taking a long time to reply to questions I may have or ones that others have posted in their threads.

So far zythsu815 has been excellent, my initial enquiry was answered immediately, I receved a tracking number within 5 minutes of paying the escrow and the parcel was in UPS's hands less than an hour later.

Hopefully the machine arrives safe and sound, I will update once it does Smiley
548  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Kit, sales price changes daily, now $2247 per Kit on: June 05, 2014, 10:00:27 AM

Price (No Discount, Including Shipping)
S2:    $2359, 1000GH = $2.36 per GH
SP10: $2888, 1400GH = $2.06 per GH

Price (Discounts, Including Shiipping)
S2:  $1959, 1000GH, $1.95 per GH
SP10: $2620, 1400GH, $1.87 Per GH

Power
S2:    1000 GH, 1000W = 1w/GH
SP10: 1400 GH, 1200W = 0.85w/GH

SP10: $2620, 1400GH, $1.87 Per GH   SP10 $2888  1400GH/s =$2.06 Per GH

Either do it WITH discounts or do it WITHOUT, I provided both. Using a discount on the S2 and none on SP10 makes your figures wrong.

And as I said earlier, I'm not cheerleading either, the A1's beat both.
549  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Kit, sales price changes daily, now $2247 per Kit on: June 05, 2014, 07:55:38 AM
S2:    $2359, 1000GH = $2.36 per GH   $2359,-400kupon=$1959

SP10: $2795, 1400GH = $2.00 per GH  $2795   $2,695.00 + shipping for $193.00.=$2,888.00

S2: =$1.96 per GH
SP-10 =$2.06 per GH

I did it without discounts to make it an even playing field (though I did forget shipping sorry, last one I bought had free shipping). There are very few vouchers available for the S2 and it's possible to get a discount on the SP10, but ok lets work it out that way with disounts/vouchers

S2:  $1959, 1000GH, $1.95 per GH
SP10: $2620, 1400GH, $1.87 Per GH

Lower w/GH also increases the lifespan of the product.
550  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 0.414 BTC for 180GH/s on: June 04, 2014, 10:50:40 PM
i think those x's indicate chips overheating and that will cause a slowdown in hashrate .. your temps are not bad but i think u have some chips overheating. i seen same thing on some mine and that is what helped them stop getting x's .. sometimes x's are ok but when accompanied with slowdown of hashrate then i think chips are overheating.

Nah, those x's aren't overheating - he's only running at 43-45 - that's well cool. More likely to be insufficient power/crap PSU.

I'd agree, my very first ant came with a broken fan, so replaced it with 2 Arctic F12's (push/pull) which still can't match the performance of the original, as a result it has run over 50c constantly for nearly 5 months and never missed a beat.
551  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Kit, sales price changes daily, now $2247 per Kit on: June 04, 2014, 10:44:40 PM
The SP10 is such a crappy deal compared to the Antminer S2

Yep, their reluctance (or greed) to reduce the price while everyone was pissed off with BM has cost them greatly. What's better, sell 1 miner for $500 profit or 10 miners for $200 profit... spondoolies definitlely missed the boat here...

Curious how you both think the S2 is a better deal

Price
S2:    $2359, 1000GH = $2.36 per GH
SP10: $2795, 1400GH = $2.00 per GH

Power
S2:    1000 GH, 1000W = 1w/GH
SP10: 1400 GH, 1200W = 0.85w/GH

PS Both are beaten on price by the A1 clones, which can be had for around $1800, or $1.80 per GH (if only all the dealers weren't sketchy)
552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: June 04, 2014, 03:51:27 PM
It's a waste of money to pay to host equipment unless you absolutely don't have the power at home available. Live with the heat and noise.

Not always the case, and it has nothing to do with power supply, it depends on where you are in the world.

Here in the UK $0.20 electric + 20% import duty + fees, mean hosting miners yourself is more expensive than shipping to the USA and getting a company there to do it.

EG An SP10 @ 1200w is about $6 a day in power here, which is exactly what a couple of US hosters charge, you save the import fees and don't have to deal with the noise and heat.
553  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - Best W/GH/s ratio - Shipping from stock on: June 03, 2014, 02:35:43 PM
Congratulations on your success!  I'm very satisfied with my SP-10, and am looking forward to great new innovations from you in the future (SP-15, SP-30, and perhaps the next-generation SP-50 - a 10TH/s beast on 20nm chips with the same power draw as the SP-30)

EDIT: The SP-50 is a fictitious product that I have made up (but hope sees the light of day) and in no way represents Spondoolies-Tech product pipeline Smiley

Congrats SP-Tech!

Jonnybravo0311 there won't be an SP-15 I'm afraid. It seems that people aren't interested in small miners anymore. As for the SP50 I expect at least 4x more hashrate than the SP30 and at least same power as SP30. The hashrate jump would equal the one from SP10 to SP30.

I also congratulate SP, your professionalism on these boards and by email is a joy after all the rubbish companies we have previously had to deal with.

As to the SP15, there would be a market for it if it was available shortly I think it was the wait time that killed it, if they go ahead and build them I am sure they will sell.

With lots more suppliers out there now, the age of pre-orders is drawing to a close (hurrah), as much as it's a risk for companies, building and shipping from stock (or short wait) it is going to be the only way going forward.

555  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: June 02, 2014, 08:20:48 PM
even changing the number 101 to something else didnt work Undecided

I presume changing it to your 192.168.10.* domain didn't work either as you went offline for ages.

For others reading who might be able to help the OP, I tried a few things via teamviewer to get it going but nothing would work.

He has the ant connected to a router AND the router connected to a modem, the router is on the 192.168.1.* domain and the modem is on the 192.168.10.* domain.

The machine was reachable when set with a new IP, the pools were reporting alive and setting the difficulty so it suggested to me that it is connecting OK, it just won't hash so there is some other issue.
556  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: June 02, 2014, 07:50:44 PM
NOTE... for people who arent network smart this is wrong "Address: 192.168.1.101 (last number can be anything you want, use something different from the original .99)"

It can't be anything greater than 253 and it cant be 0. and you should not use 1.

Good point, I updated my post

Why 50% of the time when I try to browse https://leaserig.net/index.jsp?page=admin
it's offline or down? I have to refresh few times, sometimes it's start working, sometime don't  Huh tried in few different browsers and noticed same behaviour.

It's a DNS Problem, used to happen to me lots, add the following to your hosts file

Code:
23.236.58.114 leaserig.net rigs.leaserig.net www.leaserig.net

Subject: Poseidon 3Th/s Bitcoin miner amazing limited offer. Starting from $2500!

They don't start from $2500, they start from $5000
Prepay. 50% upfront.

As I said they don't start at $2500 it's false and misleading advertising.

Sorry for the delayed response on this..
Yes, we're happy to configure your machine for you. Typically, this is such a quick process, that we don't charge to do the configuration.

Rich

Thanks, will bear you in mind for future purchases or when existing hosting contracts need renewing Smiley
