541  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 05, 2023, 10:45:39 AM

Today's match wasn't fine due to how they made the goal decision. I was under the impression that Arsenal either won or drew, and because of self-interest, VAR cheated Arsenal by making a fictitious ruling.

In the initial VAR check for a possible ball outside the line, they act as though they saw nothing. In the second VAR check for a potential foul on Gabriel, the third VAR check for a potential offside, and the entire official team allowed the goal to stand. However, I'd like to know why they didn't let the referee go check on his own?

The refereeing decision was the main talking point yesterday and it’s disingenuous to push it to the background. I have come to the realization that the Premier League officiating won’t change. It will get worse. It’s become a business now and the people that should call it out are all hiding behind microphones. Sometimes I don’t like talking about all these ref/VAR issue. What we are seeing now is Nothing. The shit show has been on for 10+ years at least and it won't stop.

There were so many error scenes from VAR during the game but they somehow managed to overlook them. I don’t know how the VAR officials missed Bruno elbow, how they did not review the foul on Gabriel Magalhaes, but went for an offside is absolute shock, it seems like it was a mission to make Arsenal lose.
Arsenal was really into the game. They were the better side if you ask me. Yes there are things they could have done better attacking wise. But defensively they were on point. I think Arsenal did not lose that game because they did not play well. They lost that game because they were robbed. Simple as ABC.
I won't be surprised to see another referee get demoted to the championship again. Yesterday at St James' Park, I witnessed the ridiculous use of the VAR system. It was glaringly evident that the English football system won't change. I received this message from a friend, and everything he shared with me below accurately reflects what happened in the goal against Arsenal.

PGMOL have responded following today’s controversial decisions at St James’ Park.

On Bruno Guimaraes elbow: “He's not used his arm as a weapon, it's not nice but no more than a yellow card.”

On the Newcastle goal: “The ball looks out but we can't possibly give it from that angle.”

On the push on Gabriel: “There's two hands on Gabriel's back but we can't be sure it's a push.”

On Gordon being offside: “There's no conclusive evidence whether Gordan is behind the ball, so stick with onfield decision.”

I only saw how much time they took when they made the decision about that goal and whether it was 1) a foul or 2) offside. The offside decision took too long in my opinion because it wasn't offside. But in general I think there is nothing to say against the VAR taking a lot of time to make the right decision, but it is confusing for sure. The commentator said they gave the goal because they have no conclusive evidence against it. That was word for word what he said.

Now when did this situation happen during the game in the above picture with the ball that was supposedly out? I missed that one but was it out 100%? I think it is a disgrace that there are still missing camera angles to make reliable decisions in the aftermaths. There is so much technology available and it could easily be upgraded where necessary that these things should not happen.
I was very shocked to see that the Newcastle United goal against Arsenal yesterday night was not disallowed by VAR because VAR checked on three things in that Newcastle United goal which are the possible ball going over, possible foul, and possible offside against Newcastle United. The VAR was very interested in checking for possible offside when they know too well that it is not an offside against Newcastle  United. The VAR should have focused more on the possible over against Newcastle United because VAR knew if they focused on the possible over the goal could have been disallowed but since they wanted the goal to stand they refused to focus more on reviewing the possible over which could give Arsenal a goal kick. I think they should work on VAR to deliver the right decisions at times.
VAR decisions this season had been totally unacceptable and dismal with reference to Arsenal match against Newcastle the VAR decision was absolutely unfair the ball had visibly crossed the touch line for a goalkick and it was repeatedly shown on TV replay, it was glaring and obvious that with the aggressive style of player of Newcastle one or two of their played ought have gotten a Red Card yet they got away with those terrible challenges against Arsenal players,  VAR controversial decision is now on weekly basis last week  it was against Wolves when they played Newcastle, last time it was Wolves against Man Utd when Onana made a contact and foul a wolves player and so many questionable decisions.
542  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling on: November 05, 2023, 08:34:41 AM
Snip
I don't think that only the loneliness can make a people addicted to gambling. In my opinion people get addicted on this kinds of things for their own cause. They fall into addiction for their own fault or mistakes. And if anyone say that he become addicted to gambling for the cause of his loneliness then I will say he is lying. And in case of your friend there are many signal are already done by him that he is getting addicted or already addicted gambler from the before.
Beside gambling there are other valuable things to do to avoid gambling addiction, reading of books, making research, watching Movies etc can prevent loneliness, personally I am into trading in my spare time I visit twitter to learn and improve on trading skills thereafter switch over to my trading chart to practicalize everything that I learnt on Twitter with that I have never experience loneliness thus I preoccupied my mind with learning skills rather than concentrating on gambling, Moreso I bet on soccer matches once I picked the matches for the day and placed the bets I will only login to check after the expiration of all the bets.
543  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Do You Plan to Make the Most of Your Bitcoin Investment Before the Halving? on: November 05, 2023, 08:25:33 AM
I guess I would not change my lifestyle that much, I will try to increase my DCA  amount when there are significant price dumps (if any...). I do not spend that much on a day to day basis, so in my case it is not worth it to switch to a monk-like life for 6 months to get only a few sats extra
Whenever the price experience any minor or major retracement I bought to accumulate using DCA I agreed with you that the best bet now is to very conservative with our expenses on irrelevant things just to spare some extra bucks to buy Bitcoin in preparation for the Bitcoin halving coming up next year, I believe in the long run the profit that would be earn after halving would worth all the sacrifices made now, this is another for those who missed last halving to earn some reasonable profits, though investors who bought Bitcoin in September are very lucky because they bought at a very low price and did DCA while the price gradually became bullish.
544  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin looking like sleeping gigant in this bull run season on: November 05, 2023, 06:57:01 AM
Ltc looking like sleeping gigant the price is Under 100$ definately cheap now people mis buy ltc because no body dont want miss the opportunity some experts Even say that LTC can Do 300% gain from here.
i think it's LTC time now in this crypto bull run season
With reference to LTC/USD 4 hour timeframe the coin had been ranging in the past few weeks, an experience trader would have bought at the lowest price level of the range i.e whenever the price reverses to that zone another opportunity would be evolve thus using DCA appropriately an investor must have accumulated much LTC at a very good low price before the sleeping giant wakes up, presently it price has broken out of the range with a likely bullish run from $70 to  $87 the next resistance.
545  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy on growth on: November 05, 2023, 06:42:00 AM
Hi all. How to buy more when growing? Today we are growing, but I don’t want to buy. Share your experience in this matter.
You have to avoid buying at the top as the price pump it could be very risky to buy because that is when the price was about to retrace or reverse, thus it is mandatory to have some basic skills on price chart which would help you to determine the most appropriate period to buy and sell it is always advisable to buy low and sell high, basically I would always advise you to wait for a retracement or reversal in an uptrend price movement ( (bullish) this would ensure that your entry into market is at appropriate price, once the price retraces you should adopt DCA method to start buying and accumulating your preferred choice of coins even if the price fell your draw down would be low.
546  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Scam Currently Going on from WhatsApp to Telegram on: November 04, 2023, 08:32:51 PM
Thank you for bringing this notice to forum members I believe this is wake up call to everyone to always be at alert because the various tactics deployed by those scammers is getting more sophisticated such that any newbie can easily fall into their trap, it's obvious that they work in group thus throwing everything to their unsuspecting victims thus which might likely look real  whereas it's a scam and again we should be wary of joining any telegram or Whatsapp groups because the mode operation of those scammers is target less inform people or unenlightened individuals.
547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are Altcoins Fake? on: November 04, 2023, 08:17:59 PM
Some altcoins or let's say that they are many now that are becoming fake and being soft launched in the market. They're just testing the waters if they're going to become popular and gain volume. But not all of them are fake, we know that there are legitimate ones and is being used by many like the top ones. If you're in the new ones, you'll have to deal with the risk that they bear usually when they come out freshly to the market. So if you have earned like the new releases and they're being listed in good exchanges, you won't call them fake because you earn upon dumping it.
We should never triggered positions in the market without mapping good strategies, instead let the market comes to us, triggered our buy and sell limits. Our opinions differs depending on our experience in the system, there are numerous projects we have encounter, some turn out to be legit and profitable while others are scammed projects that embezzled all our initial capital, leaving us in deep regrets. I'm not following the trends, rather sticking to price actions, because that's one of the smooth techniques in the process of generating substantial capital. Most altcoins are fake, they mostly turned into scam projects in the space.
Good for you if you are not following the trends and you're likely avoiding most of the scam projects that are released in the market. That's how many of the new investors gets in to these fake and scam altcoins. Because of their desire to cope with the trend and hype, they invest in almost everything they see and that's why they fall to projects that are just sucking their money and they don't know how to recover it because there is no way to recover it if you're going to ask me about it unless they recover in other ways or methods.
Unfortunately most of those fake altcoins are well package such that it's often very difficult to detect their genuineness, infact their developers employed influencers to promote the project so as to look real, as you rightly said getting updates and latest information of as many altcoins is one of the ways of avoiding investing in those fake altcoins, it's a pity that many newbies in their bid to make huge profit in s short time frame usually fell into the trap of those fake project especially memecoins which are mostly pump and dump coins, I am very sure a lot of unsuspecting newbies had lost huge funds after investing on those fake altcoins the best best is to invest in BNB, Ethereum, Bitcoin etc.
548  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pi network mining on: November 04, 2023, 02:31:43 PM

When it comes to mobile mining apps, I would prefer to use Veruscoin because it is legit that you can actually mine using a mobile device and withdraw the accumulated profit, and it is listed on other exchanges here in the crypto space anyway.

- https://verus.io/

It is also what PI network promise in the past that's why In our local section there are lots of member that tries mining this but ending up regretting what they did as time spending but with no great return.

though I will try to check your advise , will check it in youtube if there is truly a  good value after mining and if it's safe as well.

Have you earned something good from mining this mate? how long have you've been mining?
There isn't any waste of time in mining Pi coin it is mostly mined with mobile phone without any hassle, however the future of Pi coin is the subject of discussion as well as how it is mined is absolutely different from how Bitcoin is mine raising some questions on what problem does the project solves? I tried to raise this issue with some Pi coin miners none of them was able to give detail explanation on the project all they could say was when launched on the mainnet the price of the coin would be high and all of them (miners) would become rich after selling their coins because most of them had mined alot of Pi coin are locked up, moreso according to some information P2P Pi coin on large scale isn't allowed on their network.
549  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I think gambling is inbuilt, kids don't learn it anywhere, they do it! on: November 04, 2023, 09:59:35 AM
The Australian Government once said about abolishing gambling ads as a means of reducing gambling activities amongst underage people. But, I think they'll be no successful way of stopping young people from gambling. As it's in them. Most articles here also say things like gambling addiction being hereditary. That means gambling can be hereditary as well. Because I just watched from a distant two kids below 10 years, staking bets, after a long argument about who the artiste of a specific song is. They later staked close to 40 cents each, for the person who gets the answer right. Then they went ahead to verify. And I lost sight of them. I thought about, how come or who thought these kids about betting money during a long argument. I was able to memorize, back when I was a kid. We easily said, how much would you bet if it turns out I'm saying the truth; during an argument. It made me understand that, despite during those days we had no phones or access to the internet, gambling is somehow embedded to the brain of humans. Then, as a child, we weren't exposed to gambling. I could only remember of lotto, as a kid. But we still said things like "let's bet it"
Many consider gambling to be hereditary but I think it is not only hereditary but close friends have a big role to play. I have met many gamblers who had no gamblers in their family. But he got addicted to gambling. His friend contributed to his involvement in gambling when I learned about and observed his addiction. People are naturally greedy for money, so if someone is lured with money, then he can become more and faster interested in that mater. Even a child can feel the need for money. Because of which they bet. Although children are always discouraged from gambling platforms but children are getting involved in gambling.
In the country I reside gambling is most common among the youths yet it is not hereditary because majority of them play college soccer or football from there they begin to gain interest in watching European league matches on television which later metamorphosed them into gaining interest in gambling, I am aware of the fact that none of their parents is a gambler this is from personal experience as a college tutor, with reference to me I bet on soccer matches yet I didn't inherit it from my parents it stem out of my personal interest in the game as well as a ex player thus I gamble for fun.
550  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins that are good for long hodling in this season. on: November 04, 2023, 09:26:45 AM
it will be difficult for their customers to experience negative results like what other customers are experiencing from new altcoins in the market. Do you think this two altcoins are good in long hodling in this season? Because I have seen some reason that made me to apply for long term in this little shift of the price of altcoins which the bull run will show up fully next week.

I can testify that both Etheruem and BNB are very good long-term tokens, for the time I held them, they may have been slow but they were steady. But then, it won’t be difficult for people who invest in them to experience negative results now that a lot of people are coming into crypto thinking that the interest happens like magic. I can tell for a fact that when I was making my gains, someone was losing their money because they probably lost patience. People love quick money, many may say it’s too slow just because they’ve heard of some cryptos that have skyrocketed within a short time, and hence, taking out the investment at the wrong time.
Some investors only wanted to earn massive and quick profits through investing in some of those unpredictable altcoins not minding the fact that it's a very risky investment yet ignored BNB and Ethereum that are more reliable and credible though profit earned from investment in those pair might not be much compared to those altcoins however investing in them has a very low risk, honestly the era of earning 100x, 50x etc on investing on altcoins had passed that was around 2017 to 2018, personally I do monitor the top ten altcoins on CoinMarketCap make research on them afterwards select or pick two to three altcoins definitely Ethereum or BNB would be among the selected ones
551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the odds of guessing someone's private key or seedphrase? on: November 04, 2023, 09:13:58 AM
Another way to ask this question is, what are the odds of any two people generating the same private key at any time?

The answer for this question is pretty interesting, but to make  long story short, you have a better chance of winning the lotto 9 times in a row.

Bitcoin private keys uses SHA-256, which is the number 2 to the 256 power. Which is an unfathomably large number.
If you counted all the grains of sand on planet earth and all the drops of water in all the oceans on earth, you would not even come close to that number!

More detailed explanation:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eZ5DP2P5As
This would be an effort in futility to guess as many numbers as private key of a Bitcoin hodler is beyond any human being, I don't think there would be any attempt by any human being to guess those numbers definitely unrealistic even randomly guessing those numbers can never lead to a private key of a hodler except utilizing a supercomputer which isn't in existence yet, even gamblers who play lotteries find it very difficult to win jackpot that requires guessing few members of 5 digits from one to hundred talkness of guessing a 64 digits of a private key of Bitcoin.
552  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 04, 2023, 07:35:54 AM
Newcastle vs Arsenal
In today's match between Newcastle and Arsenal there is no chance for any team to advance. Arsenal lost 3-1 against West Ham in their last Premier League match while Newcastle beat Manchester United 3-0 in their last match. Arsenal is one of the top team in English Premier League but they have not performed well in the last matches while Newcastle is a team in the middle stage of the Premier League points table but they have performed very well in the last matches. Considering the current performance of the two teams, that is why the two teams have been placed on equal footing. However, Arsenal are ahead in the last five matches. I don't know why but it looks like this match could result in a 1-1 draw. If a team wins instead of a draw then they must give their best but either of these two teams can win.
Arsenal lost to West Ham in Carabao Cup midweek could could be attributed to resting of some their key players thus I still believe that the team is still very formidable and stand a chance to win their match Newcastle in today's match though it will be very close, however I believe they would narrowly win the game, Newcastle drew their match against Wolves last weekend after the centre referee Anthony Taylor awarded a penalty controversially to them  thus Newcastle remain inconsistent in the league, I don't think they can win a more determined Arsenal side, though playing in St. James' Park is advantage for the home team.
553  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Must Read: Scams disguised as premium signal groups/channel on: November 04, 2023, 07:17:47 AM

Here are some basic questions we need to ask ourselves:
1. If they can help you earn so much profit they would already be ultra rich and wouldn't be spamming your inbox to join their paid group

This is exactly my thoughts about the paid signals channel I believe a very good trader would rather trade anonymously and earn decent profits instead of creating a paid signal channel that would be distracting their job, In Twitter I followed many experience forex traders who are trading six figure funds with Prop firms yet none of them has time for establishing a telegram signal provider service but would occasionally post pictures of trading chart for their followers to learn some trading Price Action and strategy, meanwhile the so-called paid signal provider generate their income mainly from their subscribers of course their are not regulated thus carried out their fraudulent activities unchecked.
554  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk predicts X will replace banks in 2024 - The Verge on: November 04, 2023, 07:05:13 AM
We all know that this is not possible at least due to regulation. And banks will not allow this to happen
It's absolutely an unrealistic project and wouldn't see the light of the day, how feasible would is the project? When countries across globe has their monetary policies and all of sudden Elon musk introduced X to unsurp the operation of the banking sector that won't happen without any resistance, Moreso even if the project is successfully launch it would take a very long time for users to get used to the system provided that it operation was adopted by some countries, for instance Bitcoin had been introduced for more than a decade yet it global adoption hasn't reach cut across all the countries partly due to restrictions and bans how much more X which hasn't been launched yet.
555  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin fraudulent activities in Nigeria on: November 03, 2023, 07:25:27 PM
In recent years niger has been know for cryptocurrency fraud. Most scammers in Nigeria used social media like Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp to decieve people into investing crypto with the promise of getting higher returns with little risk, while they will steal your money. This have lead to the scrutiny of crypto government have warn against investment in cryptocurrency. Many Nigerians today see cryptocurrencies have a way for them to over come the high inflation. This is a very important notice before investing crypto in Nigeria.
Even before Bitcoin fraudulent activities had been going on in the country the so-called Yahoo yahoo boys uses Western Union Money Transfer to receive funds, some of these guys colluded with some bank officials to recieve funds and some also recieve vital customers information thereafter steal their funds so tagging Bitcoin with fraudulent activities is just like painting it in a bad light, though those fraudulent means of stealing funds from unsuspecting individuals increased when the Bitcoin adoption increased and it's unfortunate that some newbies felt to the tricks employed by those scammers in stealing their funds or stealing their keys and consequently withdrawing all their funds.
556  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Importance of emotion while trading on: November 03, 2023, 04:25:26 PM

Here are some ways to control these emotions:

1. Don't expect much profit. For example: You think that you will become rich by investing in a coin.
2. After you have invested in a coin, you find that for some reason it has gone down in the market. At this time, without being emotional, you first look at the condition of the token, what condition it is in, and then take a decision with a cool head.
3. Avoid revisiting a coin after investing. You place a sell order with a specific target.
4. Trade according to market conditions. Don't immediately invest in someone's words.
5. Stay calm and try to control temporary emotions.
Honestly expecting too much profit after the price had moved in your favor would ended up losing the trade this is from personal experience when I was still a newbie I never considered the volatility of the price of the pair I was trading but now once I am profit I swiftly exit the trade though this is based on my experience in crypto trading as for investing in crypto the main coin I invested on is Bitcoin thus I never bother when the market sentiment is bearish because definitely a period of bullish season would surface that is the only crypto that would make me remain calm and without any fear after a through research on it past price behavior and Price Action

How will it affect your life if bitcoin price comes to $1 million per bitcoin ?
That would have been the best thing that would have happened since I was born on a positive note because the few Bitcoin I hodl would have gained some massive profits for me thus I would invest massively on other physical projects like estate development and other profit earning venture unfortunately on the other side It would be painful to know how much worth all the sold Bitcoin would have amount to if I had decided not to sell any of my Bitcoin, above all the fact that I have the opportunity of being a Bitcoin enthusiast is a great feat as well as acquiring it via different means is another opportunity that worth mentioning.
558  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 03, 2023, 03:09:15 PM
The recent injury to a very important member of the Manchester United squad Casemiro I think will be a big blow to the club's quest to improve from their current poor performances.
Erik Ten Hag must be one of the most unlucky managers in the English Premier League at the moment because a lot of his first team players are currently out injured while others are just coming back from injury which means that they wouldn't be very effective as a result of poor match fitness. They play Fulham this weekend and a defeat in that match might end the managers reign as the club manager.
Of course this is a bad blow for Man United, Casemiro's injury means that the list of injured Man United players has increased. Losing Casemiro is certainly detrimental to Man United because he is an important player in Man United's midfield, plus he is currently the top scorer so far with four goals in all competitions.

With so many players injured, Erik Ten Hag has to think smart about how to play players when facing Fulham next week. Because this match really determines the fate of Erik Tag Hag's future at Man United, Fulham is not a strong team. I think Erik tag hag should make the most of his opportunities.
Casimero joining the list of injured Man Utd players like Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia is a big blow to the squad, the team had lost three consecutive matches now, Sancho another important member of the squad is also out due to irreconcilable difference with Erik ten Hag, honestly the team is struggling defensively without the experience duo of Luke Shaw and Martinez likewise in their midfield Casimero has been a regular scorer for team is now out, the likes of Mount, Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes have not been playing up to  expectations likewise their attackers so I don't think we should be expecting a good outcome from their next match against Fulham possibly a draw match.
559  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Massive rise on bitcoin price, Is this a bullish Sign or ETF hype? on: November 03, 2023, 02:54:43 PM
Over the past two weeks we all witnessed a massive spike on btc price around 10k$ pump which I never expected though I feel this could be a trap from whales in the crypto Industry. On the other Hand The market is still waiting for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to give the green light to spot bitcoin ETFs, If the SEC delays or shows red signal to this ETF then I think there could be a massive drop as the market is always run according to the fundamental situation. Guys share your thought which can be expected?
I don't think this is a kind of trap by the whales the recent positive fundamental surrounding Bitcoin had made the sudden surge in it price, of course any news related to ETF would have a an instant impact on it price regardless of whether is real or fake because it price would always react to any fundamental news, likewise the anticipated halving of Bitcoin next year is also another indices that was responsible for the recent pump, as it is now I don't think the price of Bitcoin would experience any dump, the price would only experience minor pullback or retracement as it gradually enters bullish sentiment by now investors who invested in last year September when the price was around $16K had made some reasonable profits now and anticipating more profits.
560  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do You Use Crypto Signals? on: November 02, 2023, 06:52:05 PM
There are a lot of Crypto Signal Providers - about 5 of them are at the top of the list.
They claim 80% accuracy.
I googled reviews and I read nothing but good things about them.
If they were bad signals people would give bad reviews.

If they do have 80% accuracy, then anyone who uses them would become wealthy in a short time.
Do you use any crypto signals?
If you can learn some basic skills in trading that would help or assist you to validate some of the paid signals provided with your own trading strategy to avoid trading solely on those paid service providers, who knows some of those crypto service providers might have employed some online influencers to give positive reviews of their services in a bid to attract more newbie traders, how they are able to send signal swiftly to their customers?  yet make some profits knowing how high is the volatility of prices of crypto, because a late entry would result to losses, these are some issues I don't understand as regards getting on the market as earlier as when a call is made by their signal service providers.
