when it comes to mining pools i think someone should create a profit switching pool which pays out in casinocoins, i would do it but my skills stop at basic coding languages, ive been watching a couple recently and they have been growing much quicker than your average pools, like this one for example ( http://www.cryptotrain.net ) for ultra coin

Take a look at this package:
https://github.com/zone117x/node-open-mining-portal

seems like the right thing, but im not goin to pretend i have any idea how to set it up, my skills are more graphical layout and design, but this definitely needs doing, i will help in anyway i can even if its just the layout design ready for someone else to implement into a this pool

depending on how the development and exposure of my new multipool goes(www.xpool.ca), I may consider implementing/deploying other pools paying out in different coins. Currently is BTC...

if you were to create a profit switching pool you could allow people to mine in x11 x13 and other algorithms which are easier as they only use like half the gpu power, and so you will attract a lot of miners who only have a basic single gpu (no rig set up). when mining scrypt my gpu can go over 80c where as with x11 it goes barely above 50c and i can use my computer for gaming still, this will attract a lot of newbie miners and would then make your current pool obsolete

I'm in the process now of adding x11 and x13 coins.

Yes, this is an ongoing saga.

Anyone have any tricks to keep this on the proper chain? I'll soon have to take CGA off my pools. It's the most time consuming and disruptive coin on them...

You should add MOON instead again. It's been running flawlessly for the last couple of weeks.  Smiley

oh yeah? They updated their wallet not too long ago didn't they?

thanks! Was a shame to throw away 120 frk Sad

good thing it was only $14, but yea that sucks im sorry Sad

anyone else notice that their frankod uses a lot of CPU???

During sync?

yes that is expected, but after the sync it stayed like that for ~an hour before I shut it down and started it back up. Seems back to acceptable usage now.

Once the few clients that are on the wrong chain are gone this shouldn't be an issue any more.

You can also do this. Start fresh and use the -connect (not -addnode) in the Config file or the startup switch

use these IPs

(Start up Switches)
-connect=37.59.48.89:7685
-connect=62.210.122.161:7685
-connect=107.170.113.225:7685
-connect=66.172.12.153:7685
-connect=192.99.35.133:7685
-connect=72.78.100.7:7685
-connect=178.238.45.216:7685
-connect=72.52.231.153:7685
-connect=74.105.241.83:7685

Once you are on the right chain, you can restart without the -connects.

So far i have 3 of 3 computers on the 500k chain, only 1 I had to full re-sync. The rest picked up on restart no problems.

I sent a msg to Cryptsy to get the new wallet and to please put CAP back online!

Cheers!

5512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] New Crypto Currency FRANKO [Mandatory update at block 640k] on: June 17, 2014, 11:53:24 AM

The reason I chose the shorter chain was because all of the main nodes including cryptsy and coins-e and the two main block explorers were stuck at block 785863 and reporting that specific block as being invalid. Whoever made the invalid block probably did so on an old wallet before the kgw timewarp fix. Some of the pools accepted it while most of the wallets didnt. By the time I released the fix to get cryptsy syncing again the chain autocorrected and orphaned the longer chain anyways. Why did it do that? Because only a few of the clients were actually accepting it.

So what was the right answer? Allow an invalid block by putting in an "ignore block 785864 it may be invalid but who cares" or orphan a days worth of work to make sure the block chain syncs fine and does so by staying true to the parameters we all agree on.

Altexplorer.net was on the wrong chain, it may be longer, there were a couple pools on the longer chain but it was still an invalid chain, if you dont believe me, set up 2 nodes on a private network with the other chain.. have the one node already have the wrong chain but start the second node from scratch and you will see it doesnt sync past 785863 then check the log and you will see why.

FRK was stuck for 37 hours before anyone noticed, cryptsy needed a fix asap or risk being delisted. So again, what would you have done? I'm sorry some people lost work, I dont have any money to compensate, wish I did but the only option we have is to move forward. We need to do whatever it takes to stay moving forward even if it means to step back a couple steps and correct a problem.

Apparently Cryptsy is on the long chain now... and my coins are toast....

lol nope. Why is everyone using altexporer.net?

the official is http://frk.cryptocoinexplorer.com/

Can you distinguish that in the OP?

is http://petro.hasher.ca/ actually working? Their site shows:

It works!

This is the default web page for this server.

The web server software is running but no content has been added, yet.

I just want to make sure, my miners are running but I havent received a payment, I only turned them back on about 12 hours ago though

EDIT: Confirmed this pool IS making payouts.

yeah, you can actually get there by using www.hasher.ca now.

Happy Hashing!
