561  Other / Meta / Re: Is it okay to create an off-topic discussion thread? on: July 20, 2023, 03:04:32 PM
One of the restrictions on this forum is off-topic discussion. So what if I create a discussion thread where the rules in the discussion thread allow off-topic discussion. Is that okay?
Off topic posts and off topic board are different.

Off topic posts mean you write posts which don't discuss on issue of that topic, it's off topic and should be deleted. Off topic posts can be deleted by moderators through reports from forum users or by a topic author in self moderated threads.
2. No off-topic posts.

Topics which belongs to Off-topic boards can be moved to that board through user reports too.
Off-topic board:
Off-topic - "Other topics that might be of interest to bitcoiners"
562  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 20, 2023, 02:59:29 PM
If the player you are referring to is Ilkay Gundogan, then you have made a big mistake. Ilkay Gundogan has become an official Barcelona player, it was announced some time ago since Barcelona managed to sign him for free.
Gundogan is very good for tiki taka after about six years with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. Even Pep upgraded initial tiki taka from Barcelona to Bayern Munich then Manchester City, the core idea of tiki taka was digested by Gundogan. He will not have difficulty in Barcelona especially we saw Xavi did not change the initial tiki taka too much in one season and a half with Barcelona.

Quote
I agree that Ilkay Gundogan has contributed greatly to Manchester City's title success over the last few seasons, but unfortunately Manchester City did not manage to extend his contract so Barcelona stepped forward as the next port of Ilkay's career.
They did not want to sign a too long contract with an old player like Gundogan but it is what the player wanted. Without agreement, they had to separated and Gundogan also want to challenge himself at a new league, La Liga.
563  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do anyone have done this? with gambling platforms on: July 20, 2023, 02:40:48 PM
anyone deposited very less amount and luckily won a big jackpot like a 100x or 500x or 1000x of base bet and withdrawn without kyc or without facing any problem from the platform?

if yes, how much was that amount?
Very likely they will pull the KYC requirement and verify your identity before they allow you to withdraw money from big win especially if that big win means big value too. If you win big like x100 or x1000 from your small capital like $1 or $2, they might allow you to withdraw without issue if it is a first time.

However if you repeatedly win big like a few more times and request multiple withdrawals, I am sure they will pay more attention on your account and check many things. At the end, advanced KYC will be unavoidable.

and what was the exchange?
Not exchange, you are talking about gambling sites.
564  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 10 tips to manage one's emotions while trading crypto. on: July 19, 2023, 01:27:07 PM
When emotions control us, it will make us get out of the plans we have made carefully. Like when we want to decide to take profits when the profit target reaches 5% but because emotions control us like we become greedy when trading, we instead increase our take profit target to 10% profit. and sometimes that's a good thing. but sometimes to also make us fail to get profit.
If you clearly know that what price is your profit taking price and you know that you are not good to control yourself, set an order to wait for selling at that price. When market moves to that price, your position will be filled and you take profit without emotion.

Now, if you want to gamble with luck, you can reserve like 10% of your coin to let the market and profit runs, then you can take profit at higher price if you are luckily enough. If price falls back, you can sell it at lower price but should not be below your entry price. Whatever happens after your take profit with 90% of your capital, you already get profit in hands and the rest 10% ends with a draw is not bad.

Don't let the rest 10% ends with a loss too. You can use a Stop loss order to sell it at your entry price or a little higher than your entry price.
565  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't expect everyone to embrace Bitcoin on: July 19, 2023, 01:21:53 PM
I am one of the people you mentioned, I believe that without government, nothing would exist. Like in a herd, there must always be a leader, without a leader, everyone is equal, and the world will be ruined. Just because you want freedom, you eliminate the role of government, that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Don't forget, you have a peaceful life, no war, no robbers, you have all the comforts in life...all with great contributions from the government.
I don't like how governments control central banks, create inflation of fiat currencies and put their citizens in worse life by negative effects from inflation or in some countries, hyper inflations. I don't like how they corrupted and became richer while their citizens became poorer by inflation as well as how they failed to keep their promises from their propaganda to be elected by citizens.

However, I see we still need governments to keep societies in orders. I don't want to live in a country, a society with an anarchic status because my life will be in danger. In such an anarchic society, my prosperity will become a big risk to end my life.

Quote
I need government, but I am still investing and very bullish on bitcoin. And for me, Bitcoin is just an asset, and it's just a tool to make money, it can't take on any government role.
Bitcoin will become more interesting for investors when they see bad inflation from fiat currencies and realize that Bitcoin has become more strongly surviving after many years, many bear markets and many tests from governments to kill Bitcoin and its network. They will see it as a safe heaven to avoid inflation from central banks.
566  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Storing Private Keys with Colors, how safe is this? on: July 19, 2023, 01:09:16 PM
Hm, why just limit yourself with colors-pallet.

We can advance further and convert SEED phrase into music.

I have just used Music Sheet Cipher and converted the following SEED (search where universe puzzle search doctor dumb holiday patch wheel begin detect) - don't use it! - into music notations.

Quote
You must have good musical knowledge to understand it. Does the musical sheet contains all seed words and does not include non-seed words?

Because if you hide your seed words, mix them with non-seed words, you will have problems to find whatrl words are from your seed.

It is better if the sheet only contains seed words but what will happen if with this large piece of paper, you will have more risk to see it gets wet, damages by physical threats. I could be wrong but a smaller piece of paper is better for me to store my seed. It is more easily to backup, storage safely and recover in future.
567  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US Presidential candidate announces plan to back the US dollar with Bitcoin on: July 19, 2023, 11:47:41 AM
If I remember correctly, some US states already plan to hold some Bitcoin to store their wealth. I do recall seeing some news talking about more or less the same thing
North Carolina Reps Suggest Adding Bitcoin, Gold to State Treasury.

Not sure there are more states in the USA. have congressmen/women want to make such suggestion or plans to do that.

Quote
so while it is mostly a marketing ploy, the fact that some government bodies or politicians utter such words means that crypto is a good market for them. Hopefully, this doesn't turn into another situation where they claim one project is a security one after another when the regulation is unclear though.
From the hearing on oversights of SEC. on cryptocurrency, which was held in April 2023, facts are many members in the USA. Congress are supporters for blockchain industry, companies and cryptocurrency. They don't want to see a wave of such companies moving out of their  nation because of SEC. regulations which are not based on existing laws.
568  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 10 tips to manage one's emotions while trading crypto. on: July 17, 2023, 02:25:03 AM
4. Don’t keep track of profit and loss. Doing the math on your earnings will only get your emotions working. Concentrate on your trading strategy, and review your trading journal to develop it. Then, at the end of the trading day, you can check out how well or poorly you did.
You have to keep track of everything you do in trading or investment.

Without records, you will not have data to assess your investment or trading strategies which can not always help you to gain profit. If you feel you are not good at emotion control, don't trade. You should stop trading and change to become an investor.

By investing, you will spend less time to watch charts, read news and you will have less emotional reactions against market news. Always keep tracking your entry, exit prices, results from your investment positions as well as notes about causes of profits and losses if you can.
569  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Question] Bitcoin More decentralized than Ethereum? on: July 17, 2023, 02:17:29 AM
Bitcoin hashrate is very high and decentralized from mining pools to geolocations.

Blocks found by mining pools: https://www.blockchain.com/explorer/charts/pools
Bitcoin mining map: https://ccaf.io/cbnsi/cbeci/mining_map
Bitcoin reachable nodes: https://bitnodes.io/
Distribution of reachable Bitcoin nodes across leading countries: https://bitnodes.io/dashboard/

Evaluating validator decentralization: Geographic and Infrastructure Distribution in Proof-of-Stake Networks
64%of staked ETH controlled by 5 entities
You will have more data from the Nansen tweets

It is easier to attack Proof of Stake network than Proof of Work network and Bitcoin network is very big and safe against 51% attacks.
570  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Argentina Launches it's First Bitcoin Futures Contract, Brazil To Follow.. on: July 13, 2023, 11:10:36 PM
Bitcoin does not support Argentina to have their first Bitcoin Futures but it relies on Arghentina support to approve and launch a first Bitcoin Futures.

In nations with bad financial regulations like Argentina, I feel unknown about their capability to manage that exchange and the Bitcoin Futures well and safely for Argentinian citizens and cryptocurrency users. Let's hope they will not let any corruption and bad operations from the exchange.

We don't need to see things like Terra, FTX from Argentina. Market will be dumped or has fud if an exchange has problem with its operation.
571  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: July 13, 2023, 03:56:36 PM
Until now several official players have been brought in by Milan, such as Luftus Cheek and another Chelsea star Cristian Pulisic, but both of them are actually not positioned as pure attackers or center forwards. I think Milan as a whole will improve next season, the seriousness has been shown by their president Paolo Scaroni who said he would build a Milan squad ready to compete on the Champions League stage next season.
They want to protect their position within top four of Serie A and if possible, going far in Champions League. They know repeating their success in Champions League to semi final matches is not easy.

Their main focus will be Serie A because they know Roma, Juventus will become stronger. Juventus will not play in either Champions League or Europa League and they will seriously focus on Serie A. Roma will be improved more in their third season with Mourinho. They need to get good results to convince Mourinho signing a new contract after the current contract will expire next summer.

Aware of such threats, AC Milan are trying to get as many new good players as possible.
572  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it Advisable joining Bitcoin signal group? on: July 13, 2023, 03:40:13 PM
Legit or not these so-called signal groups are not going to give you any promises or guarantees about the accuracy of their predictions.
They can promise or not but you can not knock their doors and ask them to cover your loses as they will have many reasons to say sorry and reject to pay you or they can simply don't answer your request.

Quote
I've already given up on these signals a long time ago. Been there done that and I have learned my lesson. Although I did win a few times but most of the time I've lost.

It's much better for you to self-learn in analyzing charts, candlesticks, etc.
Being independent in thinking for investment or trading is better than rely on signal groups and thinking of others. It is your money and you can not trust anyone.

Win or lose, if you believe in their signals, you have to enjoy whatever results, profit or loss.

Sometimes you even do not know who are group owner, founder and operator.
573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it Advisable joining Bitcoin signal group? on: July 13, 2023, 11:19:25 AM
No free lunch theorem. There is no free lunch, remember that and you will figure out facts behind free signal groups.

They do not charge you any joining fee initially but they will steal your money by giving you some signals and make you excited, greedy to buy up tokens for them to take profit.

Paid groups can be scam too. They can be other versions of free signal groups but try to double scam you with joining fee. Very few paid signal groups are legit and good but you must pay ridiculous expensive joining fee. I am sure you will not be able to join those groups if you are not rich and have big capital.

You can use your money to buy a membership from on-chain metrics websites like Glassnode https://studio.glassnode.com/pricing

Glassnode Insights has weekly free reports to read https://insights.glassnode.com/
574  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: All in one charting software? on: July 13, 2023, 11:08:58 AM
I mostly work on trading view but TV(tradingview) is not free and there are lot of ads poping up all the time, also, TV have many different type of indicators free and paid,
If you use a free version of Trading View, you must accept such annoying advertisement banner and limited indicators to use as well as it does not allow you to use many indicators at the same time.

I believe if you are a trader, trade regularly enough, you will have to buy a Trading View Premium. It is worthy to pay for that version as you can use some more advanced indicators. It will allow more indicators at the same time on one chart but it is not what I like. Because when you trade long time enough, you will know that you don't need to use many indicators on a same chart.

You can wait for annual Black Friday event from Trading View to buy with very good discount price and +1 month to use.
575  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can DEX Replace CEX as the Future of Crypto Trading? on: July 11, 2023, 11:10:31 AM
Centralized exchange are popular now because they're very easy to trade on, they make their platforms so easy that any individual who's a newbie can make use of their platform without mentorship. Decentralized exchange aren't perfect yet but they're safer than decentralized exchange. Centralized exchange are what many individual are used to and they're just getting to know about decentralized exchange and with time they'll understand how to use them.

Decentralized exchange has all the potential to replace centralized exchanges, with the crackdown on centralized exchange and accusations of listing securities, attention might shift back to decentralized exchange as project move to list there to avoid SEC lawsuits.
Talking about this chance for decentralized exchanges is like talking about opportunities of ebooks to replace paper books, e-newspaper to replace paper newspaper, digital currencies like CBDCs to paper or polymer currencies. It will not have any ending for discussions because we all see how paper books, audio books, ebooks coexist and none of them die. I believe the same for CBDCs and paper/ polymer currencies, Bitcoin and altcoins will all co-exist together.

Decentralized exchanges and centralized exchanges serve different users so they will co-exist if customers continue to have different types and each exchange type has its pros and cons.
576  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade with caution on: July 08, 2023, 02:42:17 PM
I have seen the risk in trading and its noticeable that trading needs more concentration than any other thing in the cryptocurrency investment,  I know I'm knew here but after reading what investors pass through for the loss they experience in trading, I have to share this with us. I know that trading need more seriousness and concentration because its a risk job and risk investment, I outline four things that make investors to lose during trading investment.
If you aware that you are newbie in Bitcointalk and also new in cryptocurrency market, don't try to write guide and teach.

In your quotes part, you changed from investment to trading. Please don't mix them together because they are different. When you have a capital and you want to use it for both trading and investment, you have to separate your capital, on for investment and one for trading. Don't mix them and don't do both trading and investment if you don't split your capital.
577  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can DEX Replace CEX as the Future of Crypto Trading? on: July 07, 2023, 03:46:02 PM
Can DEX Replace CEX as the Future of Crypto Trading? My answer will be NO.

Because both of them has plus and minuses I know that a lot of people said that Centralized Exchange is bad and we don't have control over our money but in some government only Cex that can comply with government I mean as a "legal" exchange while Dex will not going to get the license because they are basically decentralized

Tho to country who ban bitcoin and there is no rule about crypto Decentralized Exchange will always be the number one exchange that comes to privacy and security.
Decentralized exchanges are like altcoins with doxed founders and developers. If they launch their projects publicly and reveal their identities, their decentralized exchanges are not decentralized. When governments want, they can arrest those developers and shut down those exchanges. So operating or not, it is very centralized on the founder team and core developer team and more important governments.

Only this is enough to say DEX will not replace CEX after many years in future. Governments will never let their citizens to use DEX and they lose their citizen income tax too and lose control on their citizen financial flows.
578  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Accepting Bitcoin on: July 06, 2023, 04:58:04 PM
Since I joined this forum I have always wanted to invest in Bitcoin however Bitcoin investments in my country is not easy because of our currency value and the government is not in much support am currently working on convincing my mom to accepting Bitcoin in her tailoring shop i Also intend on hodling those Bitcoins
Will you pay your Mom money equivalently to bitcoin she receives from her Tailor shop and gives it to you? It is your investment, not your mom investment.

Accept customer payment in Bitcoin if transaction has at least on confirmation. If you accept Pending transaction, it might never come like the sender can do double spending or it will be dropped from mempool.
579  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The hypocrisy of the UK on Cryptocurrency on: July 06, 2023, 04:44:41 PM
I've been following the development in the UK in line with cryptocurrency for a while now, and I must say that I'm not so happy about most of the things I read.
You mean their regulations against Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, not their development.

Quote
The hypocrisy of that nation is much, they could have just announced to the whole world that they've banned crypto instead of making life difficult for crypto enthusiasts by introducing unfriendly rules and preventing businesses around it by blocking exchanges and other business initiatives with sanctions.
If governments want to launch their CBDCs and want their citizens to use CBDCs, they must force their citizens to stop using Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies as least as possible. If you are governments, you will do the same.

They only reduce usage from their citizens because there are non KYC exchanges serve their citizens.
580  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kyc for accounts or wallets on: July 05, 2023, 11:26:49 PM
kyc puts you personal information and privacy at risk it also gives ability for your transactions to be monitored.
Your transactions always are monitored on Bitcoin public ledger and can be checked on block explorers.

Quote
So please before making wallet registrations always read through terms and conditions as well as privacy policy
You only have to do this when you create your online accounts, exchange accounts to store your bitcoins. You don't have to read their Terms of Servive to know you don't own private keys or mnemomic seed. During the process of account creation, you should realize that it is a custodial or non custodial wallet.

Do your research before creating accounts is good so you will not waste your time.

If you use non custodial wallet, you don't have to register any information, no KYC. Just pay attention to research that wallet is open source or close source. You should use an open source wallet.
