561  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: On Poloniex.. on: April 20, 2014, 04:58:41 PM
The login is shit though. Captcha and auto-logoff on timeout makes it a terrible unusable exchange for me.

How is logging back every few hours a problem? And I find the captcha easy to read, compared to some who use ReCaptcha.
Your opinion is welcome, but does not invalidate mine.

As I said, "for me". Further, Poloniex does use ReCaptcha.

Did you undervolt the videocard? Did you check temperatures while mining, with Gpu-z or HwInfo?

You may have damaged it...

Remove other cards and plug this one directly on the motherboard, PCI-e 16x. See if it boots and displays the desktop at least. Then see if it shows as VGA or AMD Radeon

i am mining from 3 months with it never got any problem like this before and yes i have checked temp it was 77 degree ! And how can you say that mate it is damage ?? the Gpu fan is working fine !

And yes i have removed it and inserted in another 16x slot but in device manager it's not showing ! other cards are working fine !
Well, I'm not talking about "another 16x slot", please pay attention.

Remove all cards. Insert that XFX on the primary 16x slot nearest the CPU and connect a monitor. What happens? Does the rig boot? Does the bios information appears? Does the rig boot to Windows? Does it show as VGA adapter or AMD Radeon...?

77ºC is the temperature on the core. The VRM or power components can reach much higher temperatures.

What do you guys think of http://www.free-energy-info.com/ ?

I think their tinfoil-hattedness is neatly summed up by these gems:
Quote
Without your knowledge, you were stolen from your parents at birth and automatically became the judicial property
of a commercial company pretending to be your government.
[...]
In order to do this, they have to persuade the human to enter into a contract with them, agreeing to pay them
money, essentially, for nothing in return. Their main trick is creating a fictitious legal identity using the name of the
human. This is done by creating a “Birth Certificate” in the same name.
[...]
In spite of their mistake, the fictitious legal “person” produced by creating the Birth Certificate document, the
human who has the same first and last names as those recorded on the birth certificate, has no actual link to that
document unless he can be tricked into agreeing to be linked to it.
[...]
Deception of the Name: If you go to a Court (which is a Corporate place of Business) as the Accused, you will
be asked to confirm your Name, quoting the full name shown on your birth certificate, which is the LEGAL
PERSONALITY. Titles such as Mr, Dr, Lord, PC, QC, or whatever are not asked for as they are not required. The
“Accused” is actually the LEGAL PERSONALITY which is the name on the birth certificate, so when they ask for
the person’s NAME, they are talking to the LEGAL PERSONALITY and not the human. This is because a human
cannot exist in the legal world - only pieces of paper can, and that is something which they are very careful not to
tell you.

This is a really key issue. Natural Law and Common Law are the only laws which apply to humans and they deal
only with harming other people or causing them loss, and outside of those restrictions, a human has free and
unlimited entitlement to do anything he chooses which complies with these principles. As opposed to this, Acts of
Parliament, “Statutes” and Statutory Instruments “Contracts” do not apply to the human but only to the piece of
paper which is the LEGAL PERSONALITY and which has no reality. As the legal fiction of the LEGAL
PERSONALITY was created by the company called “the United Kingdom Corporation”, it is that company which
gets to say what the rights and duties are for that piece of paper.
[...]
At this time, America does not have a government because “The UNITED STATES” is a commercial company.
The term “United States” means a Federal corporation. The US President is the President of a commercial
corporation and American citizens are, in effect, the employees of that Corporation. This present situation was
sneaked in by the covert actions of the Americans who organised and ran the civil war with the intention of taking
lands and assets from people who lived in the South. Most people imagine that, say, Virginia, is a part of the
American nation under the American government. However, this is not true as every one of the “States” is
actually set up as a commercial, for-profit, company, under the parent company “The United States of America”.

And so on, and so on, and so on.

One thing that is amusing is that they have a section for 'Doubtful Devices'. Things so silly even they can't stomach them.
I don't care about the obscure Anglo-centric political views of the site owners. I'm asking about the devices designed around the world in the present and past, by people non-associated at all with politics, collected on those PDFs.

I've read the PDFs and rarely found something plausible. tbh, I don't know what to think ...

It will be worth the wait, though  Grin
570  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Linux vs. Windows in mining? on: April 16, 2014, 10:30:05 PM
I've read mining on Linux gives higher hashrate if you're using Nvidia cards, cudaminer and compile from source. You also don't need to have a valid Windows license. You also get away with less ram and an cheap small USB pen.

Windows has better utilities for voltage tweak, remote access and monitoring. Then, "it just works" without the need for struggling with the installation
571  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Finally, open source XPM GPU Miner!! on: April 15, 2014, 02:57:31 PM
Time to move away from paid and Windows only miner!

Btw, using protection software to lock ppl to Windows is lame ..
Yes, I get it's a side point, but nobody was using protection to lock people to Windows. They are using it to make sure they get paid.

Either due to direct impact, radiation or nuclear winter, there will not be anyone left to spend the "saved" US dollar
573  Other / Off-topic / Re: What Browser You Use on: April 15, 2014, 01:48:43 PM
I mostly use http://www.waterfoxproject.org/, the 64 bit, speed optimized version of Firefox.

I use http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/. It's multi-purpose, and now includes torrents.
575  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Miners, what are your algo prospects? on: April 15, 2014, 10:33:20 AM
From an ATI GPU miner, I'm not a fan of any of those, interestingly.  X11 is atm not implemented for NVidia miners. Not that I personally care, but it should be inclusive. Scrypt and variants are power hogs and stress hardware, so they are a bad idea with rising temperature.

Those PoS pools are actually scrypt mining. Buying and holding PoS coins, that may be profitable, but I'm not very very interested in speculating. I have 2 of those coins, but meh ...

Check out http://hvc.1gh.com/, http://dwarfpool.com/ and http://www.ypool.net/ Here you can mine most remaining algos.  Regarding low power use, I like heavycoin.

Criminals and psychopaths have turned the "land of the free" into lalaland, at the expense of the Americans and foreigners.

Sooner or later, miscalculation will happen, someone fires the first nuke and then yes, WW3. That 3 means the 3 hours it will take to turn the Earth into a replica of Venus.
577  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: error -4: Enqueueing kernel onto command queue and gpu 0 failure. on: April 15, 2014, 02:43:15 AM
Oh, sorry I forgot

cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://url:port -u username.workername -p pass -g 2 --thread-concurrency 8192 -I 13 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-engine 1000

Then on the miner window, press 'G' and play around with parameters. You may be able to increase Memory and core a bit more.
578  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The PUMP & DUMP Thread: Coins for daily pump/dump on: April 14, 2014, 11:49:40 PM
idk I live on the east coast of USA, where electricity is 0.06 kilowatt and we can drink our tap water.

So with that being said about whatmine doesn't that make it inaccurate and not even worth looking at???
It is worthwhile to look at whatmine alongside to other sources. These include coinchoose, coinwarz, poolpicker, some threads in this forum, etc... and give you an idea of what to do and innacuracies to avoid.

You can also query a coin network if you feel the hashrate and difficulty is B.S. Load the wallet or daemon and use the "getmininginfo" command. Or pick another exchange, or see if the buy wall is thin or just a bait.

More to the point of your thread: most coins are smashed and devaluated. The ones that are not, quickly become because miners flock to them. So, it's self-defeating.

580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: error -4: Enqueueing kernel onto command queue and gpu 0 failure. on: April 14, 2014, 09:34:27 PM
Try cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://url:port -u username.workername -p pass -g 2 --thread-concurrency 8192

Regarding:
Quote
amd sempron 145 processor (45 watts)
2gb ddr3 1600mhz adata RAM (an old  one. didn't bought any ram because everyone said RAM doesn't matter for mining)
Unfortunately the scene is full of memes and idiots...

Those 2GB may or may not be a problem. Can depend on OS, mining algo, the videocards, thread-concurrency, motherboard and it's bios config, etc...
