Ditch the Sempron 145. Get's clogged with Windows, drivers, interrupts, sgminer at high intensity, VNC or teamviewer, cgwatcher, MSI Afterburner and so on. Get a dual-core Sempron 190 for $5 more. i've built eight sempron 145 in 4 card configs with no issues whatsoever. nothing gets 'clogged' with a single core. I've also successfully installed on core solo, Athlon x64, and triple core athlons, so slower CPU works fine too. What OS, motherboard, drivers and software did you use? Did you use cgwatcher, sgminer and VNC/teamviewer? |

Its ironic that the biggest support POW coins get is the 'fairness' of mining when actually it is with the current situation where some can afford and understand the technicalities to acquire massively unequal amounts of coins the most loop sided unequal distribution for any newbie to the Cryptocurrency world. Mined coins almost instantly get put on exchanges and a pump starts so large holders can cash out at the inevitable peak.
In contrast POS is ironically if done properly potentially more fair than POW ie 1$ = an equal % of a new coin. So therefore mining neither serves the purpose of even distribution and at the same time consumes massive amounts of energy in the process....How do you like those apples? PoS is not the matter, the matter is precisely the closed-source IPO'ed Nxt. And btw, how do I know it doesnt include malware?? I'm aware of the advantages of PoS, they were discussed a few times, there are other coins with PoS, that isn't even a Nxt innovation. Then I get the power usage. Good point. I hope you Nxt holders drive hybrid cars and stay away from SUVs too. If this is not enough for you, you are just a troll, sorry

So tell me. Besides your own self-interest of holding Nxt and wanting to pump it, please explain me how is Nxt better than a hybrid PoW/PoS coin without IPO, when mining ends. Is anyone really pro-Nxt without having some and making a speculative bet it will hold?
Then I don't get what kind of people are against Bitcoin and annoyed than Nxt is not valued at bitcointalk !? Besides you're against other alts, against mining (I get the nice PoS but otoh even teens with a decent gaming PC can mine), you're against anyone that mentions the obscure IPO. You can also install Win8 on an 32GB usb 3.0 pen and save the price of the SSD. It has it's set of disadvantages though: slow and not straightforward.
You may also get away with 4GB of RAM per rig, since you're not using R9-290's.
The same way, you can go single PSU with undervolted cards, if you use an EVGA Supernova G2 1300W, Seasonic X 1250W or some 1500W out there. The point of dual-PSU is saving money, and you're not doing so with your picks. You will be close to the specified amperage though, without much margin for 24/7 operation.
That said, the 3 last suggestions have limitations and drawbacks.

payouts are low because h2o isnt exchanging a whole bunch. theres a massive amount of "something" (probably DOGE). It looks like he's waiting for the price to go back up, and its been on a downward trend since the last big payout.
it sucks that he dropped the ball by holding, but at what point is enough, enough? And to just exchange the lot for what he can get so we can stop carrying such a huge unexchanged.
tbh, I rather prefer that h2o does the way he does. I suspect this is why on the long term middlecoin offers larger payouts, consistenty beating cows, waffle, bros, etc.... I'm not going to be the jerk to say "if you don't like it, go somewhere else". But otoh, that's precisely the point, and that's what I do. Other pools mine and dump for the quick gratification, or because users demand so. Let's preserv middlecoin's uniqueness and it's nice payouts as they are, even with the unexchanged delays, and pool hop for the quicker buck if or when we don't like the MC numbers |

I'll send him 5 NXT when I go home, in eight hours (not now because I'm at work with a strong firewall). I'm not a big shareholder so 5 NXT is a significant donation for me. But please tell me if it's not really for your cousin in Angola, I don't want to send my money to somebody who is already rich. You misunderstand. The man may be uneducated but is not poor, so fortunately he does not really need a donation, neither I'm here asking for money. What I'm saying is that the initial IPO announced in English in this forum was out of his reach. He had the right to be part of it. I guess Nxt would have been ideal for his situation and the enthusiasm I managed to induce him. That's only an example of what is wrong with Nxt. The average person is saying the exact same thing with regards to BTC. Go around the streets and ask people. There are a lot of people that just feel its a fad that will die. They don't see the value in Bitcoin because of it being a digital currency. Some of my friends all feel why should they use it when Credit cards work just as well other than it being centralized. If one doesn't care about that then yeah...
Considering that even Bitcoin has struggled for years, how the hell do you expect that yet another obscure altcoin (in hundreds now), like Nxt to get some traction, huh? |
