Bitfinex has opened up new account registration.  I just realized a possible loophole.  It is perfectly fine according to their TOS to trade on their website if you are a US based LLC (or other corporate entity), so long as you deposit/withdraw in crypto only.  So I could skip the 6-8 week verification process (could even take longer if they get overloaded - and it might take a while to get my local LLC bank account setup).  And at these current swap rates (0.07%/day), the extra 6+ weeks of interest can add up.

Does this sound legitimate?

I think you might be right as long as you're lending and not borrowing:

Bitpay charging me $10 to send $75 in BTC :\ hmmm i call bullshit ~!~ this is profits to them ===>

https://support.bitpay.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002990803-Why-Am-I-Being-Charged-an-Additional-Network-Cost-on-My-BitPay-Invoice-

Yeah, trying to send less than .01 btc is going to result in significant fees.

Wait a minute. They're charging a "sweeping" fee, in addition to the miner fee? That's completely unnecessary. If they want to sweep payments around for their own enjoyment, that's their choice and they should pay that fee.

Gay cowboy finally pulls trigger. It's harder than it seems.

I feel like there's a joke in there somewhere...

It's getting to the point I need to consider moving to a state with lower taxes.

Relax, I was just looking for an intelligent discussion, and thank you for useful and enlightening inside!

Here's your intelligent discussion ... Keep your fucking hands out of my wallet you god damn thief.

I've placed major bid orders from 1k to 2k.

I'm not sure whether to call you an optimist or a pessimist. The odds of it going that low are minuscule.
571  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if bitcoin got hacked on: December 25, 2017, 05:06:32 PM
The hack would be investigated, then a fix would be implemented, and the miners would rollback the chain to right before the hack and continue on from that point. Bitcoin would recover. How do I know? It's basically happened twice before.

What the fuck have I just woken up to.

A golden opportunity.

I just don't get why people are selling now. But I can't complain, it's a chance to increase my stash. Thanks guys!
574  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 22, 2017, 02:18:33 AM
I can help you with your pain by buying up your Bitcoins at $1. If that's still too high for you, I could also settle for a lower price. But you'll have to act quickly, my generosity doesn't last forever.

That's a tempting offer, but this is a burden I brought on myself. I wouldn't feel right dumping that burden on you.
575  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 22, 2017, 02:10:54 AM
Remember the days when Bitcoin had cheaper fees then visa and western union? I think that used to be a big selling point, the idea of banking for the unbanked or something like that... lol

I remember those days. I was much happier when bitcoin was $1 each. I hate having my bitcoins worth $14,500. Damn you all!

Ripple was being discussed a few pages back.

Yeah, let's keep it that way.

Islay ones usually kick your ass (the aforementioned cigarette butts).

Cashed in some bcash on today's rally and just got back from the store. Came home with a Bowmore, Ardbeg, and Caol Ila. Celebration time tonight!

Way too high.

Yeah, it's getting way up there. Something like 500+ for a quick confirm.

Well, I am lost.   I thought that my perspective was fairly worldly, but I have no clue about what is an r.  Go figure?

I think they're talking about https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R/K_selection_theory.
