561  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scam victims on: August 06, 2020, 01:30:20 PM
I have not heard of that platform before but the chance of getting back your coin is very slim this is because of the technology and other services that make it less difficult for scammers to sell stolen funds. However, depending on the country you are located. You can report your scam details plus other information to Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) www.consumer.ftc.gov/. This will be documented and investigation will be conducted with the aim of getting back stolen funds

Reporting to the proper authority as per your country is the solution, I think which for any scam that has happening could be done. Also, we all must be vigilant for any such types of exchanges, sites etc which we have not heard and does not even have any good ratings or people know about it, such things should be ignored.

the opinions made by colleagues above can be used as your reference, but it is better to join the forums in your country so you can get more enlightenment. because each country will provide a very different treatment with the existence of crypto.
in my country maybe you will not be able to give a report because the country does not recognize any form related to crypto. so the possibility that if you are in a country like mine it can be concluded that it will not be resolved.
for that better and seek enlightenment on the appropriate forum for your country, at least there can be a way out to find out if you can continue in the form of a report.
Hmmm I don't that the authorities can resolved the problems like scam specially here in virtual world because each and everyone of us are anonymous here in crypto world, even if you try to track down the scammer you can't have the chance to find his or her exact place so in order for you not to get involve in any scams you should be careful and must follow the safety precautions.
562  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What difficulty do you face on trading bitcoin? on: August 05, 2020, 08:04:06 PM
At the moment, I do not face any difficulties when trading bitcoin. The industry has grown too much since I first started.

Is it so? Maybe possible if your country supports cryptos.
But many countries like India and Bangladesh, they consider cryptos as illegal.
Traders from these countries do really face a lot of difficulties.
To convert Bitcoins to Fiat a lot of patience and risks are required.
Traders rely on sites like Localbitcoins to trade their hard earned BTCs.
Nevertheless let's hope for the best and will surely some day all the difficulties will be solved while doing trading.

One of the difficulties that I have experienced in trading is when I am converting my coins into fiat. At first I font know what to do when converting my coins into fiat then one time I am sending my balance into my address then I didn't notice that I put a wrong address imagine that? In just a glance the fruit of my hard work we're gone and what saddens me the most is I am going to use that money for my tuition fee but in just one mistake I've lost all of my money. Sad
563  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you hide your identity with bitcoin? (100%) on: August 05, 2020, 04:53:11 PM
Satoshi has hidden his identity very successful so far and he has every right to protect his privacy. I think that most of us at his place would have done the same. However, I don't think that is only with help of Bitcoin. Bitcoin has lost a great deal of anonimity since it first appeared and now it's much easier to track the person behind it and follow the transactions. To my opinion Satoshi relies on something completely different to protect identity.
The basic thing you miss here is that Satoshi did not move his coins from the known wallets and even if he wanted to move the coins during the initial stages when exchanges started popping up, you could easily sell the coins without verifying your identity and that way you could be anonymous but now the situation has changed and if Satoshi wanted to move the coins he will be exposed as you cannot find any exchanges you can trade without exposing yourself.
Yes I am highly agree to you my friend. What did Satoshi is a great technique back then because he was the founder of bitcoin and yet nobody was able to track him down or find him co'z he was great at hiding but today if and only if he shows up, there will be a person who can track him down because of the KYC method and also nobody can say if he is still active here in crypto world because he can use random names.
564  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers are back with another trick. Be alert!!! on: July 29, 2020, 02:49:47 PM
This is a new yet old trick but if someone sees this as their first time seeing the offers, they might fall to the scammer's bait. They are taking advantage about the current situation of BTC price in the market because when something like this is going on, there are more people search about BTC and any other things related to cryptocurrencies. The good thing is, we have some people like the OP who are fast to warn people about this kind of thing to prevent further damage by the scammers.
Many will create more tricks especially these time of Covid, we should be alert as they wil keep doing it in different method and ways to scam many users, they may create more account or websites to keep them doing it. Many giveaways event were used before but still many people wanted to be victimized even not having Pandemic many were victims hoping they can really get something from those giveaway, thanks OP for reminding again of this method used by scammers.
A lot of people are struggling right now because of the pandemic that's why the scammers found this situation as an opportunity for them to take advantage to people most especially to those who are easily to persuade because we all know that a lot of businesses and companies has been closed now due to lack of income and customers and also a lot of job hunters are now looking for jobs or anything that can do to have an income for fulfilling their needs.
565  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did Coronavirus Help Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency - Debate about with Valutainment on: July 19, 2020, 05:24:19 PM

I didn't agree with the host. He is just pointing out his views to accommodate the guests on his show so to not be a bad interviewer.
As you can see with their most recent interview with CSW.
https://i.ibb.co/sgNhkqq/5PhDs.jpg
1 minute preview:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAwRAcSwobo

main discussion:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JvDauIX5lg

On one hand I like that he's allowing people from both sides of the barricade to be heard and that he's not interviewing them in an aggressive way, like some journalists on mainstream TV like to do.

On the other, some people like CSW should really be boycotted. People who keep on tealling lies shouldn't be invited to any shows. I bet most of us are tired of this guy and he can be dangerous to newbies who are looking to buy some crypto.
I'm not agree that the corona virus is a big help when it comes to the debate because corona is the number one reason of having a very bad experience in the year 2020. A lot of poeple got infected and died and most of us got fired in our jobs because of each and every country's economical status so how can we say that the corona virus is a big help?.
566  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting biggest winners. on: July 19, 2020, 04:33:55 PM
7. Charles Barkley – $800,000 on a $500,000 bet

Did Charles Barkley make this legendary bet when he was with the Suns or the Sixers? Grin

Quote
How would you do that guys? do you consistently bet on parlay with big odds?

Even betting on multiple parlays with high odds might not even be enough to convert £0.30 to £500,000 or £0.50 to £1 million. These are very special cases of gamblers who are too lucky to have made such wealth out of insignificant bets. Yields as high as these from very tiny bets are almost impossible to believe.

I felt so envious they are too lucky to win a great prizes like that. Here in my country the prizes on sports betting are almost 1% only of that price and its enough only for buying stuffs that's not expensive like food. In that price I can say that those winners can build their own mansion and can even go for a huge business.
567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: I found out from Twitter. on: July 19, 2020, 02:36:20 PM
Recently, i know Binance CEO, Changpend Zhao has recently criticised the security of Twitter after the recent coordinated attack on prominent accounts. He has said this on the World Blockchain Summit Asia which took place on Thursday 16 July. This attack on Twitter has targeted several prominent crypto exchanges including Coinbase, Binance and many others. Along with this, it has attacked some of the most famous personalities of the U.S. Barack Obama, Bill Gates, Elon Musk and many others. The hackers were posting tweets from these accounts and have been offering a fake crypto giveaway.

What's your opinion?

Twitter security was fault for this hack. Many  prominent personal twitter account and few top exchanges hacked due to the twitter security fault. Hackers posted about fake crypto giveway after hacked the accounts which mislead people at first but now everything is okey.
This is the reason why I don't use twitter anymore because some of my friends got scammed on twitter in different scenarios and I don't want to be involved in scams. Twitter isn't the reliable social media outlet if you are looking for a job or something that you can can invest your money to earn more because the twitter users are not fully verified and we don't know if we are talking to a real person or not.
568  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Philippines SEC warns against crypto investment. on: July 19, 2020, 01:32:16 PM
I think Philippine SEC just warn people to be careful when joining investment project because of those scam projects they mentioned.

It's better than let the people being blinded to continuously support this kind of scheme, there are many reported cases
that's why it's time for the government to state their sentiments regarding to
this scamming business.

But i think it will not affect to the cryptocurrency in the country and also the people in the Philippines will still use crypto and invest on it for sure.

It won't affect crypto as it's pointing to the ponzi types business and not diretly to crypto. If you are into trades or investment
which is not realted to any scheme where you can get percentage per day
or a double in a short period of time.
You are safe to go if you fully understand how crypto works, no need to worry about this warning.
The government are simply warns the nation to be observant and careful to avoid involvement on any scams because people nowadays are too thirsty to earn money on just a shortest period of time and many of them are very easy to be encouraged to join on investments that's why it serves as an opportunity for the scammers.
569  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying food or groceries with Bitcoin on: July 19, 2020, 11:59:23 AM
I'm sure many people in different counties want this to happen specially for those who already know about bitcoin,as it is today with viruses spreading it is better to limit our use of fiat to prevent us from getting infected. But I think it will be a long time before it finally happens or implemented.
I am also looking forward for this to happen. I have a lot of coins in my virtual wallet but I don't have time to convert it into fiat because it is worthless because even if I convert it into fiat, I can't go outside to buy food and other stuffs because here in my country we are in General Community Quarantine, and in General Community Quarantine those who are allowed to go outside are those who are working and for me who doesn't have work, were not allowed to go outside. So if buying food using bitcoins is allowed here, I can say that I will be one of those who will buy food using bitcoin.
570  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Finally used a bitcoin ATM successfully! on: July 17, 2020, 11:19:21 AM
I always wanted to try to withdraw my BTC using the ATM machine, so that I can post here my experience but there's no luck. Our City is not that popular for a Bitcoin ATM machine to be installed here. Finally, you made it! you've tried it.

I just have one question regarding the machine, in our country we don't have an ATM where you can deposit money all you can do is to withdraw on them. If ever someone will install that kind of ATM in our city in the future, will they not remove the deposit features of that ATM?
I felt envious. I really wanted to try this ATM machine Sad but here in my country that is really imposible because our country does not support any activity, business or agendas regarding on crypto currency because our does not supports crypto currency yet and they are still depending on the traditional way of using fiats.
571  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers favorite tools on: July 17, 2020, 09:58:56 AM
Scammers are good enticing the investors, creating good and attracted projects that based from whatever is trending from the market,
they can easily gained attentions since they really understand the emotions of every target venues that they'll going to offer.
The common mistake of the investors is being move without doing proper research especially newbies who thinks that investing is as easy
as it is.
Scammers are indeed smarter than the investors. They have a lot of techniques that they can use on tricking the investors to encourage them to fall on their scamming schemes that's why as an investor or trader we should double check the background of every person we are transacting with to avoid scams and casualties.
572  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are happy only when the price goes up? on: July 14, 2020, 04:47:52 PM
Do I understand correctly? If BTC is low cost, we can buy it also by lower price? good news

Yes, this is correct indeed!

However, for the current holders of tokens seeing a rise in the market price is usually a good thing because their token value increases. The same effect can be extrapolated to the entire crypto market because a price surge means growth in the market. This encourages new investors, while the existing investors gain more value for their investments. It also drives demand, which is directly proportional to the price.
Yep indeed that's right. I am also one of those who's hoarding coins right now because I am looking forward for the bull run and halving that's why I am keeping my coins. When I heard the news about halving this year I am really happy because I have a lot of coins to sell for a better price and I can shout this line "it's payback time!" if that will really happen.
573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Now Legal In India? on: July 13, 2020, 03:24:13 PM
I see the crypto community in India is so big, it's a pity if the Indian government does not immediately legalize cryptocurrency.
Moreover, the state of the Indian economy is currently suffering, due to the spread of the corona virus in India is very high.
If the population of India allowed to use Bitcoin, I'm sure will help prevent the spread of the corona virus and with Bitcoin
residents of India can increase sources of income too. I see that the future of crypto in India is still unclear, even though
I am not an Indian citizen. But I sympathize with the legality status of cryptocurrency in India, may the Indian government
soon realize that presence cryptocurrency is really needed by the population of India.
It's good to hear that the crypto currency is now legal in India. I know that the trading and mining business there will be successful someday because we all know that in India, there are a lot of entrepreneurs there and having trading and mining business there is really a great opportunity for them and I am pretty sure that most of the citizens of India will be encouraged to join in crypto world.
574  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Home Court advantage = Not an advantage now because of no-live audience? on: June 12, 2020, 05:07:23 AM
I made a simple research about home court advantages in NBA. It showed that 7021 games won in home and 4569 games they have lose in home court. Almost 60.6 percent is the win rate in home court during regular season.

If we are going to base in statistics, it showed that homecourt advantage is really a factor of winning the game.

Even in boxing, Jeff Horn defeated Manny Pacquaio in Australia. Why? Because of Homecourt Advantage. But then, Manny Pacman defeated Keith Thurman in his homecourt.

Now, if we will look at the factors when it comes in homecourt advantage. We conclude that it has factors in winning the game because:

1. Audience Impact
2. You are familiar with the place
3. You can prepare a lot of time in the court where will you play.

But then, the main reason why players win are detemination, eagerness to win and luck. There is no homecourt advantage for the player who wants to bring home the word "Victory"

Reference:

https://www.google.com/amp/s/syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/1520496-how-important-is-home-court-advantage-in-the-nba.amp.html
Yep you're right. The court doesn't matter if the fighter has determination to win just like Manny Pacman Pacquiao, he can win his game and fight against other great boxers because he has determination and inspiration for bringing home the bacon and the audience impact, familiarity in the place and the preparation is just a secondary factors in winning a championship.
575  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CoCa Cola now Accept bitcoin on Australia and New Zealand. on: June 10, 2020, 05:15:22 PM
2000 vending machines were set up to accept bitcoin as payment for Coca Cola products on Australia and New Zealand. This is possible with regards to the Partnership of Coca Cola Amatil with Centrapay - A digital asset integrator which signed a contract with CCA to use their Sylo Smart Wallet

More than 2,000 Coca-Cola vending machines across Australia and New Zealand now accept bitcoin (BTC) as a payment option.

Coca-Cola Amatil, the largest bottler and distributor of the brand in Asia-Pacific, has partnered with crypto payments startup Centrapay, for the initiative.

To get started with BTC payments, users would need to install Sylo Smart Wallet on their phones. Once the wallet is installed, Centrapay allows users to scan a QR code to pay for Amatil’s items in bitcoin and other digital currencies.

Centrapay said it helps brands to connect directly with users and help increase their revenue potential. Adidas, KFC, and Jack Daniel's are some of the brands listed on its website as customers.

Centrapay CEO Jerome Faury said the firm had solved two barriers to the adoption of digital assets - "integration complexity and poor user experiences." Looking ahead, Centrapay plans to grow its business globally. “We’ve established a presence in North America and will be targeting the US market next with some world-first innovations,” said Faury.

I am hoping to see the adoption extend through out the entire globe. Do you think this is a good start as adoption for bitcoin? Im thinking if many bitcoin holders will used it for this simple product. Wondering if the  transaction fee also is worth it on a one tin can Coca Cola drink.
It's great that the adoption by retailers is increasing, but I don't particularly like that in order to pay for Cola with BTC one has to use a basically no-name wallet specifically. Not to mention that as an intermediary, Centrapay probably collects additional fees or something like that. Another thought I have is that Cola is exactly the kind of thing that is not likely to be bought with Bitcoin. It costs less than a dollar, so transaction fees can be ridiculously high in percentage, demotivating to spend BTC on such a small purchase. Add here the service fees of Centrapay and you get an even bigger embarassment of Bitcoin as a payment option...
Well it is a very good news for us since the coca cola are accepting bitcoins as a mode of payment on their vendo machines in some countries because it can be a big help for us to mass promote and mass adapt the crypto world. More people will more likely to join here and study what is all about crypto and bitcoin since it will be a part of their lives whenever they buy softdrinks on that particular countries.
576  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What does Gambling really mean to you? on: June 09, 2020, 04:29:11 PM
Gambling is something you put money or bet in to a game, it might be small or big.
I enter to real casino once it is so addicting even I loss sometimes in my bets still I find it so entertaining which makes me feel happy despite the fact that i loss my money. Maybe the thing that we need to set up in to our mind is put bet what you can afford to lose.
But there are people who treat gambling as their business because they know how to play the game, the tricks and techniques, but most it is for their entertainment.
Gambling is the root of addiction because when you start playing and when you encounter a winning streak, it will drives you to play even more until the time that this game will be a part of your system and you couldn't imagine to live without gambling that's why I never tried to play gambling for the longest time. I tried to play gambling for just a short period of time before but I never tried again because I'm afraid to be addicted on games like that.
577  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: "NEW NORMAL" Betting on: June 08, 2020, 03:24:05 PM
If you're a fan of sports betting this is quite frustrating to wait because of the lockdown. Vaccine is not yet discovered and there's no specific timeframe when it can be made so there's no assurance how long we're going to wait to say that we're finally virus free.

Its boring to stay at home but if you really want to gamble there are other games online than can be an alternative while you're waiting for the sports games to resume their activities.
I guess we are going to have sportsbetting like before because most sports events are going to happen in empty venues. Yes, almost all sports authorities are planning to host sports without allowing speculators (they do call this as "behind closed doors"). So, we may start betting on sports events like before very soon.

It will be disappointing only for the people who are frequently visiting stadiums for enjoying the games and all for the gamblers, this kind of behind the closed door games will not be giving the any differences to bet with them. So, we can expect no more boring days. I'm too really excited to get back into sportsbetting because that is the only type of gambling I am so far profitable in my long gambling activities.
Indeed. Up to this moment our health is mostly important that's why we should follow each and every precautionary measures to avoid casualties. We should adapt this so called new normal and do not be hardheaded because we are the ones who will benefit at all when we obey the new normal policy.
578  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Presidential Election 2020 on: June 07, 2020, 09:25:54 AM

Do not rely on polls when it comes to these things, Trump had a %18 chance to win the last one at one point, but he managed to increase that slowly but surely and eventually won.
-snip-

Exactly! I remember a poll of NYT on Twitter one or two days before the election that the winning chance of Clinton is 90% to 10% (even though I made a screenshot of the tweet I can not find it anymore). Nevertheless, there a other sources like this which summarizes the polls for a period of time back in 2016, and where Clinton always had a massive lead.

Source: http://www.nytimes.com/newsgraphics/2016/10/18/presidential-forecast-updates/newsletter.html

If there is one thing that 2016 has made clear to us, it is that you should not trust polls.
That's right we shouldn't trust polls because it is not accurate and even if someone is on the top like clinton on  2016 presidential election, nobody can predict what will happens next just like that clinton is on the top but during the day of the announcement of the winner, it turns out that trump is the one who won on the election.
579  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading mistakes i do on: June 06, 2020, 11:50:36 PM
I am not a  newbie in cryptocurrency industry. But that doesn't mean i am a big trader.I am a small trader and in this topic i will tell about my  mistakes i normally do.So small traders can survive and avoid  those mistakes.

1.Normally when i buy any coin,i wait sometimes for coin to rise. But when it doesn’t i sell this coin and after somedays it increases and it leaves me thousands regrets.

2. When i decide to buy any coin,i don't study about its chart,so normally i buy coin in their peak.As a result when the price of the coin falls,i loss chunk amount of money.

3.My biggest mistake is panic selling. If any coin falls a little i panic and sell my share. And it cost me some money. And again when it increases,i try to buy.Its not very good.

So i want to tell all that you have to understand chart, their graphs and you have to read projects whitepaper and all.

Thats it for now.All of you can share your trading mistakes and we all can learn from it.
Every trader I think do also what you did, it is normal to make mistakes because you are a first timer, but be sure by the next time you will not mistaken again or you know how to limit your losses, failure makes us more smarter and have more experienced in everything that we are doing.
580  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: New to trading on: June 06, 2020, 10:34:50 PM
Hello All,

I was hoping to get some advice as I am brand new to crypto and trading. So if I have bought an Altcoin or bitcoin at a higher price than it is now should I sell and buy the dip or does crypto not work like that? I am trying to find the best way to start making small profits.

Any help is appreciated.
In that case, you need to hold your coin for a long time, but the most effective way to have a profit to that is thru scalping, in that case even a small amount of profit you will still have a gain in your investment. But keep in mind, that buy at dip .
