501  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Police Raids and kids involving spider betting. on: September 19, 2020, 05:17:18 AM
Thank you for these precisions.
Ok so it's a very special kind of betting, it's very hazardous as far as I understand. You can't really guess which is the strongest opponent before the start of the fight apparently. So it's more a gambling game than a betting game at the end...

As a kid growing, we never even thought about this as gambling since we are just having fun goingon mountain sides, hunting for these spiders. In our place, you show your spider and the other one will show a spider and you two will agree of they are match or not. We don't usually bet on it because if you lose, the spider that you hunt for hours will be the food of his.

We usually bet on it.

We don't care what other people say at that time but when we do those matches, there are a lot of people surrounding us and when the spiders are unto it, the crowd are shouting. We even received  some punishment by cleaning because of the loudness of the matches. We bet on it but we didn't acutally got in trouble by betting on it but because of how we enjoy the match.
But not in our days now because of Physical distancing, yeah Spider gambling is enjoyable but this isd very much need to be close together
since the Stick that where Spider fight is to small so people need to look closer together to find out the status of each fight.

Maybe after the Pandemic everything in gambling will back soon and not only local gambling like this but all
 the games involved in betting.
It is indeed sad because due to the pandemic a lot of people are looking for something to work on just to earn money for their needs and some people find gambling as an opportunity to earn money but what saddens me the most is about the kids who play gambling. I think their parents lack guidance and discipline that's why a lot of kids nowadays knows how to gamble even if they are still minors.
502  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is Addictive...Pay Attention to your Gambling Habit!!! on: September 19, 2020, 03:35:43 AM
Greetings to ya all

First, am not a gambler, I ones was but didn't play for long, but i have many friends who are into it and it's because of one of them I quit gambling (not quit like never play again, but quit like I no longer play it frequently like before).
Good that you found your way out because this is really not a Good way to risk money not unless you are 100 % sure you can
Held liable if become addicted.

Quote
I have this friend named Bassey, he needs help, his problem is that he's addicted to gambling, we both work in the same company, but when you see this guy, he looks so homeless, he's gone out of style, he no longer dresses well, feed well, sleep well, he's always looking like he's sick every minute of the day.
actually you have also fault here,You should have not Give Him that loans when you are already not in good faith where did He spending
the money and the way he looks, maybe he is involved in drugs and gambling.
Quote
Our salaries are ways paid on the 28th of every month, but before 5th of the next month, Bassey is already out of cash and asking me to lend him some money so he could feed till he gets his next salary,
At first, I didnt know what was going on, cus we are both young and married, i always wondered what he uses all his money for cus both of our wife's are working too.
that sense you should have known that he is not in good shape.
Quote
After asking him severally without an answer, he called me one day and opened up to me that he feels like he's loosing his mind, i asked him how, he said he's addicted to gambling, betting on football, horse and dog races, he siad that he doesn't keep money without ending up gambling with it, that the temptation is just irresistible, it has gotten so bad that when ever he's out of cash to play, is either he ask me to lend him or he goes and withdraw money from his wife's account without her permission, the woman complained and complained, got tired, took their only son and left him alone.

Sometimes, I have the feeling that maybe my friend is cursed, but sincerely, I can't say for sure, I personally used to gamble like three to four times in a week, but after I discovered what my friend is going through, I reduced to once or twice in a month, I no longer gamble for money, I gamble whenever I feel like throwing some money away for fun, and if in the process I win, I never let that win over cloud my sense of reasoning, this is different with Bassey, if he plays and wins, he still ends up spending every penny of his winnings on betting on other games on that very spot right there, good thing that with my help, he trying his best to break free from the habit.

So am urging everyone out there playing to play, but try not to make it a lifestyle, try to always play with only money youve decided to loose, play for the fun and don't expect anything back... Play and don't get addicted.

Now you must not leave Him instead be with Him from now on.
Gambling is way too much addictive so if you are a beginner or if you are a novice gambler you should know how to control and discipline your self because when you used to play everyday it will eventually be on your system and you will not notice if you are an addict already so be careful. I don't really recommend gambling as a job because literally it's not co'z you have 50/50 chances of winning and gaining money at all.
503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Buy Bitcoin Cheaper on: September 12, 2020, 11:48:48 PM
You will notice that wise people always think about the future. They try to invest what they have earned in a place where they can make a good profit in the future. They are looking for a little short process although they know where the little ricks are. So I think considering all these reasons, they prefer Bitcoin to Gold. However, the number of people who will consider gold to be their safe resource from Bitcoin will not be less.
If you want to buy bitcoin for a cheaper price you have to wait when it's value fluctuates. We all know that it is volatile so we cannot predict whether when it's value will be at it's lowest that's why many bitcoin users hoards their coins and wait for the right time in which they can sell their coins into bigger and better price.
504  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for salary on: September 12, 2020, 10:49:34 PM
It is pretty far that bitcoin will be use by the governments as salary in paying their employees. There are many hurdles yet that needs to be resolve before it will come into reality but with regards to other organizations or companies then I am pretty sure that there are few already that are already implementing it.

With regards to my experience, I have also used bitcoin as a salary to my employees that are in other countries so time will surely to come that bitcoin will use by most of the governments that are ready to accept bitcoin in the future.
I think in public institutions it is very imposible for now to use bitcoin as a salary of the employees because now everyone knows how bitcoin works and what is bitcoin and also it depends on the country you are living because there are countries who do not adapt bitcoin as a mode of payment or what and also there are governments who do not accept bitcoin as part of their daily living.
505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for blind people on: September 12, 2020, 09:10:52 PM
My take, it's only a matter of time before the Bitcoin bandwagon carries everyone along, including the blind and people with other disabilities.
You know what bitcoin is for everyone. It doesn't matter if you are a kid, an adult, boy or girl, with disability or not as long as you can use technology and you know how to operate a computer, laptop, phone or any other gadgets that you can use when trading here.
506  Other / Archival / Re: What will happen to bitcoin on a world war? on: September 12, 2020, 06:00:20 PM
In my opinion, a world war is literally the worst thing that can happen to humanity, with or without bitcoin.
...

It's sad, but a world war is the best thing that could happen to bitcoin. When countries are under war the fiat starts losing cost, remember, the war represents an enormous cost for each country, so, if people see bitcoin as a secure way to hold their money without risking it, then not only the people we buy, the govs will back up some of the country money on bitcoin, that way bitcoin price could go to the moon, and i'm talking about $1M/1btc.

But at the same time the govs will not let people spend all their money on bitcoin, so, it should become illegal in some parts of the world.
The world war will eventually affect the bitcoin's status and I think if this will happen on the time in which bitcoin is already a part of each and everyone else's life, most of us will get poor and most of us will experience poverty. Actually there are a lot of things that the world war can be affected not only the bitcoin and all of it's effect will be negative.
507  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Bitcoin Works in Really Simple Terms on: September 12, 2020, 11:19:26 AM
I find it really resourceful. It speaks even to five-year-olds and laymen. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn about bitcoin from scratch. Thanks so much for the link.
I dont think that bitcoin can be taught to all most especially to kids because if the older people is really having a hard time to understand about bitcoin so much more the kids? I think it we can teach bitcoin to ages 18 and above because they are matured enough already to understand certain things like cryptocurrency and block chains.
508  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What has bitcoin done for you? on: September 12, 2020, 09:44:35 AM
The freedom that BTC has brought will revolutionize the whole world. Who wouldn't want freedom with their money and transactions? And who doesn't enjoy anonymity and privacy with their money?
I am a huge fan of bitcoin but I don't think that it will be adapted by the whole word easily because it has a lot of disadvantages that needs to be improved most especially it's volatility because it's volatility may affect the whole world if and only if will be adapted someday. For example when the price of bitcoin is at it's lowest we will altogether experience the money shortage and poverty and that is not a good idea.
509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin difficult to understand on: September 12, 2020, 08:08:16 AM
This reminds me of 20 years ago when in my country the government started putting people's wages in the bank, the most critical people said that people were very illiterate and would not be able to use ATM to receive their wages, today everyone knows how to use ATM and not it takes even many minutes to learn how to use ATM. That is why I believe that things only become difficult when we have no interest in them. People will not need to be learning very technical things about bitcoin, just that they learn basic things that everything will go well. See that nowadays even 10 year old children can use facebook, instagram and whatsapp without any difficulties, I do not believe that using bitcoin would be difficult for most people in the world
If I were to ask it is really difficult to understand how does the bitcoin works, what is it and also what are the meaning of the terminologies we are using when we are inside the crypto world. That's why when I first enter the bitcoin talk campaign I find it difficult because there are terminologies I don't understand like the word binance but now I can completely understand what is it because I am staying here for years.
510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make old people understand Bitcoin? on: September 11, 2020, 06:36:58 PM
I'm looking for the easiest way to make old people understand Bitcoin more thoroughly. I want to let the elderly know about the "Bitcoin revolution", yet I find it quite challenging to explain it to them in a way they can understand how it all works. There are some wallets that have a "user-friendly" interface, but even the basics of sending/receiving Bitcoin can have a steep learning curve for the older people. A Bitcoin wallet with built-in accessibility features, could help even elder people with vision or hearing problems to use the pioneer cryptocurrency in their daily lives.

If you happen to know of a way to make old people understand Bitcoin easily, please let me know. Any suggestions or recommendations will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley

When it comes to sharing your bitcoin knowledge to elder you can't really just teach them what bitcoin is. I think the best way to share it with your elder is to help them to experience bitcoin and actually use it. If they already know how to use bitcoin or they are already using bitcoin everything is just gonna be easy for them to understand. And for they will be the one that is going to be curios in bitcoin technology and make their own research about it. Bitcoin adaptation is just the key so that people are going to use and understand bitcoin. For use, old people are not used to technology but they are going to be interested bitcoin because of how it works.
You can share your knowledge to the old ones through step by step process because they can only understand what is bitcoin and how is it works in a very easiest way co'z we all know that they have the not so good memory because of their age. We can also encourage them through sharing our own experiences and showing them our proofs of earning.
511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: VALORANT Betting on: September 11, 2020, 04:58:35 PM
There's a lot of First person shooter now, before it was counter strike now it's valorant I tried to check out the gameplay of it and it's a combination of skills and shooting games nowadays have a great features wonder if i could play it it's pretty popular i've seen some bookmakers adding this game on their line up.
There are a lot of first person shooter games and for me Valorant is one of the bests. But I still prefer Call of duty because it is one of the best childhood games at all times. If you will ask me which one I would prefer I will chose Call of Duty because it has the better graphics and the population of the players who plays Call of Duty are greater than Valorant gamer.s
512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be careful when you play games with your coins! on: September 11, 2020, 04:00:49 PM
Gamblers know well the consequences and how risky gambling is. It is just that they forgot about it or even their limitation once they started gambling. Even if the coins is a hard earned money, it doesn't change the fact that it will be set aside once you started gambling and start enjoying yourself whether you win or lose.

I have asked few gamblers about it and they also have same feelings. They know that gambling is risky and they also know that they should spend only limited amount while playing gambling but when they play gambling they forget everything and play with more money than they can afford to lose.

If you are just playing for fun you know all the disadvantages of playing gambling and you are also aware that the chances pf winning are fifty fifty. That's why most of the players are afraid to spend a great amount of money when playing gambling because they don't have assurance that they can win the game.

Not if you are allocating coins to your gambling activity, the best way to approach playing gambling is through habit, if you set aside a portion for your gambling activity and you strictly enforce it, I don't see why you are going to regret or feel remorse gambling.

If we are aware of our limitation and how gambling can rekt us we will be ok you just need to trust yourself that you can form the habit of allocating time and money in your gambling activity.

Being a responsible gambler is a must. You should know how to manage your time and your money allocation in order for you not to lose your money. And you should also control yourself in order for you to avoid addiction. Because addiction has no cure, once your an addict you will have the fifty fifty percent chance to recover.
514  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My experience is gambling on: September 11, 2020, 06:13:20 AM
For me the essence in gambling is to have fun. If I just play for money, I would always be under pressure whenever I lose it because then I will have to play to recover those loses. Instead, I chose to have a pleasure in the game of gambling and anything which is winning amount is something extra for me and helps me in different ways. Greed is what drive many to keep gambling which is wrong as per me.
Sometimes ai play gambling because I am bored and I don:t have something to do or I play gambling because I am in pain or I want to unwind. For me playing gambling is just for fun only and it is not a job. I don't play gambling most of the time co'z I am avoiding the addiction. I don't want to be an addict co'z I have a lot of things to do and to think and I don't wanna waste my whole time just for playing.
515  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Problem Gambling in the wake of covid-19 on: September 10, 2020, 10:42:14 AM
With the loss of their income they can't support their family's financially, that's why some people tend to look for alternatives, especially gamblers. They probably think it would be a lifesaver for them. That's why the gambling space is blowing up right now, also i've seen a lot of influencers staking ang gambling their Crypto's in casinos and bookmakers. One way to help them is probably the scientist should speed up the development of a vaccine.
I don't know but its kinda disappointing that there are some of these gamblers doesn't have any income right now and yet they are using their money to gamble hoping that it will help them. I don't blame them if they are addicted into gambling already but risking your only money to gamble is kind of ridiculous on my part.

Speeding up the development of a vaccine will just lead to different questions and may lead to death of some who will use the vaccine. That is why there are clinical trials in every vaccine that is created in order for it to be safe to use by the public. Russian's Sputnik V vaccine skipped some of its clinical trials so its effectiveness is questionable until now and it will also happen to other vaccines if they will rush the creation of the vaccine.
If you are jobless person, you only have your own savings and you have a family to raise, it is much better to use your money to provide their needs instead of risking your money on playing gambling without any assurance of winning your game. When you lose your game you will regret it because you will earn nothing but you also lose your money with nonsense thing. What you have to do is to look for a job or put up a business instead.
516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Slow adoption and decentralized nature of bitcoin on: September 05, 2020, 06:12:44 PM
It's quite a paradox, really. If you want to get bitcoin adopted by a lot of people real fast, you have to dumb down almost all of the core knowledge that one needs to possess in order for almost everyone to catch up. However, this will lead to a lot of entities that will try to create centralized services for bitcoin even though it isn't necessarily required, because of people wanting things to be easy for them and not really doing the hassle themselves.

Though of course one doesn't really need to know the depths and breadth of bitcoin; they simply need to know a few things and they're good to go. Then again, we live in a generation when most people want everything to be spoon-fed without having to move a muscle, so you have to adjust to that unfortunately.

I still believe that in time, bitcoin will be widespread without having to sacrifice its decentralized nature, and people will learn how to appreciate the underlying genius within the said cryptocurrency and take the effort to learn the ropes of it, even just the basic, necessary ones.
I believe the same which is why I am fine with a slow adoption as long as the people that are entering the market understand the reason why bitcoin exist and are not deceived to accept services they do not really need, however this brings us to the main problem, how can bitcoin gain widespread adoption?

And for the most part I have always thought that in order for people to fully understand why we need a form of money that is separated of the state and banks is to have a financial crisis that is really severe, people say the crisis we are in is bigger than the great depression but that is ridiculous, there has been nothing like it in recent history but if something similar were to happen then we could finally get people to understand why they need bitcoin and they need to hold it on their own wallets.
Success is a step by step process. It is natural for us to face hardships most especially in the beginning of our journey. So if Bitcoin is not yet fully adapted by the whole world that's okay because who knows maybe tomorrow or in the next morning bitcoin will be our future currency. What we should do is to help the crypto world on promoting the crypto currency to others in order for us to be successful with our goal which is to mass adapt the bitcoin by the whole world.
517  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Patience above all will be rewarded here on: September 05, 2020, 05:24:09 PM
There is frivolity beyond patience. If there is patience in all realms, something can be achieved. But nothing is credible if it is short-tempered.
So it is empirical to be rewarded only if you work with patience.

Investing in crypto means you should be investing extra money which you are fine even in worst scenario you lose. Due to volatility it can fall badly as well and so does it can bounce back as well. It would be you luck after investing suddenly market rises certain percentage quickly or vice versa as well is possible. So, in long run you will end up making money if stayed invested in right coins.

They said that patience is a virtue because the key to success is patience. Before we become successful, we will face a lot of struggles, hindrances, dissapointments and etc. so we should be patient and hard working because there is no shortcut on achieving your desired goal just like here in crypto world some of us entered here without any knowledge but because of our hardwork and patience we know a lot now about crypto currency.
518  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is here to stay on: September 05, 2020, 01:59:56 PM
Bitcoin will remain and will not be lost. because bitcoin is the world's first digital asset and the world's first virtual currency, so bitcoin will remain forever. bitcoin can also be used as an investment tool or stock trading so bitcoin will last forever

Nobody can predict if how long it will last because bitcoin has a lot of disadvantages comparing to fiat however a lot of people still uses bitcoin as a part of the adaptation process because us, as bitcoin promoters our mission is to mass promote the bitcoin in order for a lot of people to mass adapt this currency.
519  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: VPN for cryptocurrencies? on: September 05, 2020, 01:04:39 PM
A VPN is only needed if crypto is banned in your country.

I don't think it's safe to do that, if you are using a VPN on your exchange to access your account and trade your Crypto you better read their TOP or term of services if they allow the use of VPN, although some exchange has their verification system on the IP you are losing but still do check it in their support if they allow it.
And about your belief that VPN is only needed if Crypto is banned in your country that's not correct, you need to read more about privacy protections and the many benefits of using VPN not only for Cryptocurrency

https://www.lifehack.org/533452/5-significant-benefits-using-virtual-private-network-vpn

yep double check this or you will regret Smiley

and anyway there's lot people discuss about how secure the vpn is and talk that they're actually not secure you can search on youtube

but in my opinion if you want to make your transaction safer and untraceable u can start private coin like monero and other
I just wanna share it with you guys. I tried once to use vpn just to withdraw my coins in a paying campaign like bitcointalk. I did that because that particular campaign banned our country from using their campaign because they accused us as spammers and scammers which is not true.
520  Economy / Speculation / Re: What affects the price of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies on: September 05, 2020, 10:51:43 AM
The prices of cryptocurrencies have been going up and down since it was created and there are so many factors that can make the price fluctuate that way and i will be identifying such factors below:

1. Supply and demand: The higher the demand the higher the price. If theres an high demand for bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies you will definitely see and increase in them. We all know that the total supply of bitcoin is just 21,000,000. This makes bitcoin very scarce and it will definitely see an increase in price following the rule of the lower the supply the higher the price

2. Market speculation: Speculation provides the market with liquidity and the aim of this speculators is to make profit. So many people see cryptocurrency as a speculative tool because its easy to create fear in people about a coin and so many people will FOMO in.

3. Regulatory and Government issues: The government of every country are always finding a way to regulate all cryptocurrencies which is not possible. The fact that they dont like the decentralized nature of it. Cryptocurrency is definitely not accepted in every country in countries where it is accepted and probably the decide to regulate and ban later. This can affect the price of cryptocurrencies badly.

4. Community size: The scale of the group is what significantly impacts the Bitcoin price or every other crypto. A wide group is signalling that there is strong interest for this coin. Many businesses and individuals use it, and that broad adoption encourages more growth.

5. Ecosystem development: Many cryptos have their issues even the head of it all Bitcoin. Presently scalability is the main challenge of bitcoin, This means the network is unable to deal with the rising amount of transfers that users submit. Many cryptos have their issues too and these issues can cause a decrease in the price of them
I think this is a wrong way to interpret. The reason for market movement has always been demand and supply and nothing else. All these factors that you have mentioned except demand supply are nothing but just factors that affect the demand and supply in some way. So Economically speaking the equilibrium ends up at the point where demand and supply gets exhausted.
Speaking of it financially it's really pretty hard to get an intrinsic value of bitcoin so finding a rough value using finance is almost impossible. Finance generally counts the PV of future cash flows for intrinsic values.
I think the major reason behind the volatily of crypto currencies are the demand of the users. For example of this month has the lowest demand of the users then the next will be affected. The higher the demand the higher that the crypto currency's value will rise. That's why the value of crypto are not consistent because sometimes it goes down and sometimes it goes down.
