581  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Desktop Bitcoin ATM on: March 24, 2021, 04:41:42 PM
Can anyone verify a purchase from them?
Someone has mentioned receiving one [link] but at the same time, complained about faulty hardware.
- Both verification and accusation parts aren't valid since it doesn't come with some sort of evidence.

  • Perhaps the following "YouTube user" might be able to help you [long shot].
  • If the content of "this page [only 7 of those are installed]" is accurate, then your chances of getting a response from one of its owners are slim to none [unfortunately].

Looking for a 1 way cheapo model.
AFAIK, apart from what you've mentioned the other day, all of the other 1 way desktop BTMs are around 3 to 4k [e.g. Chainbytes's 1 way, Lamassu's Gaia].
Take note: I'm not vouching for those providers.

I wish I had some merit to dish out to you! I've reached out to them with questions via email , so far they are responsive. They are located about 130 miles away from me.  Im going to keep exploring this option unless someone has one used. I dont mind the diy approach but i already have a few incomplete projects and would rather just buy one but ,,,,,im curious about the whole key thing and potential btc atm nightmare stories
582  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Interest check] A new funded collectible coin on: March 23, 2021, 10:46:20 PM
Why would anyone trust TeamRC to generate and hold their private keys?
OMG!!  Smiley Smiley

So many replies.. Replying one by one..

Thank you for the interest.
Pretty important question don't you think? (probably the most important) You just kind of skipped over it?
583  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] Desktop Bitcoin ATM on: March 23, 2021, 10:35:36 PM
Looking for a desktop style bitcoin ATM like bitteller.io's model.
Can anyone verify a purchase from them?
Looking for a 1 way cheapo model.

Hahhahhah, where did you pull that price tag from?  Cheesy

Are the prices for used gear that high in common now?

Believe it or not I've had offers in the 7ks already.

You'd be amazed what people are paying for miners right now
edit
You better take that 7k and run! No but really you wont get that here.
585  Economy / Services / Re: Dream's Marketplace ~ ESCROW SERVICE (500k+) ~ Buy and Sell with Crypto on: March 17, 2021, 04:40:32 PM

586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Why I think Harold Thomas Finney II (Hal) Invented Bitcoin. Real Bitcointalk on: March 17, 2021, 03:44:54 PM
First off note this is a speculative posting but I believe after a few years of researching this is conclusive(to me), although not definitive this is where the evidence points.
I invite Debating , New evidence , Correlative thoughts , Oppositions. Any input!
Lets really talk about this from an social intelligence hypothesis on who invented bitcoin. lets reach it as a consensus opinion via collaboration.
I may edit this post to reflect updates as findings come out or need to be corrected.

Satoshi is Hal.

Ask yourself these questions.
Who invented PoW?
Who invented PGP?
What is bitcoin?

"And of course the price gyrations of bitcoins are entertaining to me. I have skin in the game.
But I came by my bitcoins through luck, with little credit to me. I lived through the crash of 2011. So I've seen it before. Easy come, easy go."
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=155054.0 (Bitcoin and me (hal finney))

-My theory here is Hal was creating disassociation, he is after all the backbone that is BTC with pow and pgp.

Another example of disassociation is
Hal created profile    November 29, 2010
Satoshi last posted        December 13, 2010       A 2 week overlap?
Bye Satoshi, Hello Hal. Almost no interaction between the 2 even though they had worked together since before November 19th 2008 (sourceforge add)

This isn't by any means definitive evidence ,correlative circumstances maybe.
But when you start adding up correlative circumstances that are separate, things get interesting.

Dorian Satoshi Nakamoto lived 2 blocks away from Harold, another circumstance that cannot be ignored.
https://cointelegraph.com/news/who-is-satoshi-the-hal-finney-dorian-nakamoto-connection
I believe Hal scapegoated behind this man's identity assuming he's elderly,
nearing homelessness and would be none the wiser and even "if" he and Dorian would have plausible deniability. on a "weird circumstance"

Lets dig a little deeper into the past.
"Here we are faced with the problems of loss of privacy, creeping computerization, massive databases, more centralization -
...offers a completely different direction to go in, one which puts power into the hands of individuals rather than governments and corporations.
The computer can be used as a tool to liberate and protect people, rather than to control them."
                           - Hal Finney, Cypherpunks Mailing List, 1992

In 1994 Hal signed up to get frozen like walt disney at Alcor, who does that unless you just "know" your onto something?
Maybe he knew he may need to fix a potential world issue economy in 150-200 years.
(in reference to Hal being the 128th patient)
https://www.alcor.org/2014/12/hal-finney-becomes-alcors-128th-patient/

(Max knew hal about 20 years before he passed,15 years before BTC was invented)
Max- "He was the very first debugger and contributor to Bitcoin’s code and was the recipient of the
first Bitcoin transaction in January 2009,
receiving 10 bitcoins from Bitcoin’s possibly pseudonymous creator Satoshi Nakamoto."

Sounds like even Max More thinks/knows "satoshi nakamoto" is bullshit. Interesting?
I think Dr.More may have More answers then we know.
https://web.archive.org/web/20150212081404/http://lists.extropy.org/pipermail/extropy-chat/2014-August/082585.html
This man coined Extropianism back in the early 90's & Hal was immediately on board.

Here's the elephant in the room
The fact that "satoshi" sent Hal the first BTC TX should be a pretty big eye opener.
Something as big as fintech pioneering , don't we all test in our own ecosphere before launching?

If Hal didn't invent bitcoin one of these people probably did or someone relevant to cml or eff.
Michael Tiemann
Eric Hughes
Timothy C. May

Hal may even be scapegoated, who really knows?.
I personally think bitcoin is Hals life work it all added up to this.
587  Other / Meta / Re: How can we protect Newbies from getting scammed? on: March 16, 2021, 03:28:18 PM
My point was mods get an obvious "pin request" that shoulda been pinned as its extremely pertinent to current operations, Yet its ignored. Acknowledging the request would be a start, or telling us why it wouldn't be pinned is a good start. All 3 mods have seen the pile of shit but instead of cleaning it up they just walked around it so it gets stuck on the next guys shoe. They dont have to delete post or anything they think is a scam but ignore that kind of pin request is blatant negligence a "dilligaf" situation.
588  Economy / Collectibles / Re: With all the NFT stuff going on Id like to make another Proof Of Burn project on: March 16, 2021, 03:16:40 PM
To me, burning of the crypto is still the dumbest thing ever. Yes, it makes it more rare, yes it makes it more valuable but it makes less of it - less of something that can never have more made.

I just see it as a detriment - I know many like it but I think that just stems from their personal greed to see their own wallets increase in value.

I do it for fun and experimentation, technically with this particular project the coins just tied to a physical object and cant be removed. The value only disappears if said objects destroyed.(reverse NFT?) The initial value of those notes I did in the past should ALWAYS hold the face value that's burned to them.(1001-1010 satoshi each note) (right now about $0.55each)

If I was a whale and burned half my coin hoping the other half doubled in value it would be pointless. I for one wont be taking one for the team in that aspect.
I understand where your coming from but I'm not simply burning BTC for shits and giggles or to make people angry to me its art with process and depth a homage to how complex and beautiful crypto's properties really can be.
589  Economy / Collectibles / Re: With all the NFT stuff going on Id like to make another Proof Of Burn project on: March 16, 2021, 02:07:27 PM
Technically I did what NFT's could not!
I assigned additional tangible value to a physical item via signature binding.
I want to do this again https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5150524
I need a serialized item in bulk , any suggestions?
I was leaning on more tardedeco notes with a better printing process and higher denominations burned to the notes.
Id like something multi variable value wise , like a goldback with btc burned to its SN.
Or a papersafe with burned and non burned BTC
I had 2 or 3 makers reach out to me after my first project launched but nothing ever came of it.  Id like to revisit this!

This is interesting but I'm not 100% clear on your idea.

It does sound slightly similar to my Minted Seats in that it takes BTC off the chain and adds it to a physical item.  However, Minted Seats can be peeled and the BTC held on the address can be claimed. They receive/store BTC at the coin's address, but are also attached to "seats" that are tied to BTC held at a savings address and are made of precious metals, giving them several different "denominations" of value.  Minted Seats are "serialized" in bulk, as are the more typical digital seats and would be in my opinion good candidates for "signature binding" or attaching NFTs.  This is an idea I've been kicking around a while and have many thoughts, but they're all still on the drawing board.  I am always open to ideas that add fun or value to "seats" as well as new ways to remove BTC from circulation, so this project interests me.
Kinda the same concept, no recurring payments or anything happening though, Its a one time permanent burn to a customized wallet with extended prefixes without keys. I affix the wallet to a serialized item and describe the item and serial number in a signed message from the wallet that's doing the burning to said items.

590  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Enterprise Deep Learning Server with Watercooling. Homelab. on: March 16, 2021, 01:20:45 PM
Whats the total power consumption of this setup?
About 700 watts under normal circumstances in its current configuration, about 550-650w mining eth and xmr , 100% built it can be up to 1400-1600w
591  Economy / Service Discussion / Id like to see blockfi api on: March 15, 2021, 05:12:16 PM
The lack of transparency kills me, I want to see an api and hook my bot up to it.
I asked "Isabelle" about it only to be ignored. Anyone got a scraper whipped up?
592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Instinct™ MI100 on: March 15, 2021, 04:59:17 PM
When will these be released?  We should have them available by now shouldn't we?
There out, not available publicly, I tried selling mi25's here with vega firmware with no interest see-> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5226029.0
a lot of talk at bitcointalk but no bite.

594  Other / Meta / Re: How can we protect Newbies from getting scammed? on: March 15, 2021, 04:35:54 PM
A good proactive approach would be better moderation.(seems these guys hearts aren't with it anymore) It has nothing to do with censorship either, (if you post a project relevant to a mods project it will magically vanish) They delete real sweat equity, while leaving lazy scammer plot shit up.

We rarely ever hear from the mods or admin, right now there's a pin request going around for marketplace (hardware/collectible/digitalgoods) the request is being ignored and unpinned even though its pretty pertinent information that could save a lot of users a headache.
my 2 sats fwiw.

595  Economy / Collectibles / Re: With all the NFT stuff going on Id like to make another Proof Of Burn project on: March 15, 2021, 03:00:57 PM
what currency will you be burning? I hope not BTC Sad
Most definitely burning BTC as the supply is capped.
In a way its not technically burning though. Just taking the coin off chain forever, and coupling it to a physical item.

Definitely a SCAM --- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5323029.0

Was contacted by the user(Jay9577) on Telegram to ship the coin right away since he needs funds urgently. I asked him to message me back on the forum with a phrase which he did that proves it is the same person here and on the Telegram. I insisted on using the Escrow or shipping first. He agreed to use MJ eventually to which I send a message to him and MJ. Never heard back on forum messages but few mins later received a message on Telegram from so called minerjones to provide escrow service(Well please be careful guys, I got little confused to this part but later realized the person hid the userID which could have been anything but the screen name was showing exactly as minerjones.

PLEASE PLEASE Do not finalize anything with anyone off forum unless u have chatted with them before and are 100% sure it's the right person that you are making the deal with.
idk about telegram but discord you can enable dev mode and see accurate user ID, it never changes even when people change tags
