581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If only property I have is bitcoin on: October 18, 2023, 04:21:53 PM
So I'm asking if it will be good to show any of your family person your seed phrase or should we keep having the secret of your seed phrase personal.

Put your seed phrase on somewhere place like safe or vault then hire an attorney as your representative when you are gone and give the will to him including how to claim your Bitcoin and where it is hidden. A lawyer is the best person to do this kind of job if you want to ensure that your investment will be properly distributed to your family when you’re gone. It might cost a significant fee but it’s still worth it rather having a trust issue to your family when you are still alive or completely make your Bitcoin investment useless if no one knew your seed phrase.

583  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wow! US Gov among largest Bitcoin hodlers with over $5B in BTC - and Tim Draper? on: October 18, 2023, 03:02:50 PM
I don't know how true this is, but I do not believe it to be true.
It's no surprise the US government has a certain amount of Bitcoin but I don't believe it's up to that amount.
I'm more concerned to know if those Bitcoins find their way to the real owners.
As the article said, some of those coins are from hackers, those hackers stole people's funds, so does the government return them or even try to return them?

And if this is true, Selling off all those coins at once will mostly affect the price of Bitcoin and I believe that's one of the ways they use to manipulate the market.
Funny how no matter the amount they sell the Bitcoin, they'll still make a profit because it was acquired for free.

You should not be surprised since most of the highest seize amounts of Bitcoin since the beginning came from the US. They probably holding more if they didn’t auction their Bitcoin holdings during the early years when the price still not discovered. There’s still a lot of illegal operations coming from US through ICO scams, Money laundering and other form of services that will contribute to the US stash.

In addition, US still tracking down even those old fraud that happened long time ago and seize their money once they traced it like this one https://www.cnbc.com/2022/11/07/feds-seize-3point36-billion-in-bitcoin-the-second-largest-recovery-so-far.html which is already more than half of the total 5B declared on this topic.
584  Economy / Economics / Re: Dangers of combining company and personal funds in the same account on: October 18, 2023, 02:20:39 PM
The issue of holding organization funds by an individual, lets say the treasurer of the organization should be heavily discouraged as most times it does not end well and leads to the funds being utilized or stolen by the person in charge. organizations should plan their startup properly and that includes being properly registered with the government which enables them to open a company account with approved banks.

The real question is there any company that still doing this kind of funds keeping within the officer because the last time I experienced this kind of model is on my school back in college which our treasurer store our funds on his own wallet.  Cheesy

All companies nowadays using bank to deposit their funds and it was owned by multiple people and require multiple signature to access and withdraw funds. There’s no serious company that will hire a treasurer instead of using bank to save funds because this is really dangerous.
585  Local / Pilipinas / Re: [Discussion]Business idea gamit ang Bitcoin on: October 18, 2023, 02:16:48 PM
May mga business idea ba kayo na maganda iapply ang Bitcoin? Any idea even insane idea.

586  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Upbit Got approval In Singapore on: October 17, 2023, 04:26:43 PM
Does it mean Singapore is friendly to cryptocurrency? Is there a chance Bitcoin can be legalised there? Nevertheless these approvals are good news for us in the Bitcoin community... my question is just to gauge the level of Bitcoin penetration there.

Singapore is blockchain hotspot in asia so they are indeed crypto friendly. Even huge exchange choose to operate in there to have a friendly regulator compared to other country. Bitcoin is not illegal in there as well as other cryptocurrencies in general. So anyone can trade crypto on Singapore without any problem since they are already adapting on Blockchain technology.

If by means of Bitcoin being legal is a legal tender, I would say that this is a difficult matter which is very hard to implement on a country that is not under dictatorship or one ruler.
587  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥 Smashy.GG - Decentralized Solana Casino on: October 17, 2023, 03:36:02 PM
Who would play scripted games in such a casino without a license? The author should study the gambling market.

The game is open source which everything can be verified. Although it’s still a concern for players that doesn’t know how to read code and determine how it works in fair gameplay.

@OP, I suggest to at least acquire an audit to trusted audit company for your code. Also add different currencies and allow to register user via email since not everyone is using Solana which is your current market. The current version of the casino looks like the typical casino template being sell online by random guy.
588  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✨ Shuffle.com | The next generation of crypto casinos | Sports, Casino + token on: October 15, 2023, 05:26:15 PM
You need to visit other sites to know more about this game and even try different things on other sites. If you don't have luck here, you can try the Plinko game on another site, who knows, maybe you will be luckier than that site, sometimes many gamblers have several account for gambling, but if you think that Shuffle brings you luck, you can play there with peace of mind.

You mention already on the bottom of your post that all plinko is just the same which is right so how come visiting other casino games will make him more about the game?

I believe they just differ too on the max multiplier the plinko can offer since other casino can provide massive multiplier on this game but the gaming experience is still the same since it’s just watching the ball dropping animation. The real change of of phase on this type of game is the pachinko bonus round on crazy time which provides random multiplier rewards on random pocket unlike regular plinko that highest multiplier is in far side.
589  Economy / Economics / Re: Global markets brace for fallout as Middle East tensions rise on: October 15, 2023, 04:52:50 PM
The Israeli-Hamas war has sharpened focus on rising geopolitical risks for financial markets, as investors wait to see if the conflict draws in other countries with the potential to drive up oil prices further and deal a fresh blow to the world economy.

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed on Sunday to "demolish Hamas" as his military prepared ground operations in Gaza to root out the militant group, whose deadly rampage through Israeli border towns stunned the nation.
Source

Israel and Hamas keeps fighting in the background for a long time and so Russia and Ukraine until now. Israel nor Hamas is not a major oil supplier of oil. Their tension too is not that massive since Israel is just dealing with the terrorist group that is now shielding against civilians. It’s a pretty one-sided war which is not that huge to create serious demand the world economy.

Unless big country will join to a proxy war then it’s really a one hell of a war that will shake the global economy.
590  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Distinguishing Between Bitcoin Halving And Crypto Burn on: October 15, 2023, 04:30:37 PM

While crypto burn is a mechanism use by other cryptocurrency in reducing the amount of their digital asset already in circulation.

The irony on this token burn mechanism was the team aims to decrease the circulating supply of the token to boost the price yet they always set the total supply of their tokens to Billions or Trillions that will make the circulating supply enormous during the token minting.

It’s nonsense to burn tokens just to reduce the supply while they can initially lower the token supply during minting before they distribute it to the holders. Token burn feature is scam feature nowadays so that there will be a price boost due to speculation while the team reserve tokens grows significantly and slowly exit on liquidity from holders.

591  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC go above $30,000? on: October 15, 2023, 04:09:00 PM
If we look at this year's price chart then the highest price of bitcoin was only around $31k, and I still remember it lasted less than 24 hours and the market fell again, and now the price around $26k and I see like a puzzle that was difficult to solve so we had to be patient to see price increase this year.

The current top for this year doesn’t reflect the limitations on how high it can go this year. If you will use Bollinger Band indicator on monthly basis. You can notice that it sits on the middle channel which means there’s a chance to pump more higher than 31k this year.

Also Bitcoin usually start to make strong move on the last quarter of the year especially Bitcoin halving is already around the corner next year. There’s still chance to see some price explosion once everyone unites to become bullish due to the halving.
592  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino is a Games of Chance and Entertainment on: October 14, 2023, 05:03:35 PM
But what if you guys win and you just wanna have fun, what you'd do with the money?

Withdraw then deposit again next time when I want to gamble again. Typically, I don’t spend much my gambling profit because I’m always aiming to play more on the other time.

Money that I dedicated on gambling will remain for gambling purposes unless I have urgent need to purchases that requires spare money in able to achieve such as gaming laptop. I think this is same case with other user because it’s very hard to completely stop gambling now that you experienced profit. I’m sure that many will chase more after a win.
593  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade only Bitcoin on: October 14, 2023, 12:39:30 PM
Bitcoin is becoming less and less effective for trading and one day the market will become stable for sure. So it is good practice to learn how to trade other coins so that you can be prepared for the future.

Gold is also very stable but have you ever tried trading with gold in the forex market? It is even more volatile than what altcoins offer. In trading, volatility will always occur and whether we want to make more or less profit depends on how we set the leverage, the higher the leverage, the higher the risk but the higher the profit will be. When it comes to holding, it is clear that bitcoin is always the top choice because of its safety but when it comes to trading, there is not much difference between bitcoin or altcoins.

Leverage doesn’t increase volatility of the token but rather the risk. Volatility is due to the price change of tokens while leverage just multiply your margin so that even small changes on the price will create huge impact on your trade. Technically, leverage increases only your trade size and not the volatility of the token.

Forex trading is a leverage trading which you should compared on futures/leverage trading  on crypto not on spot.
594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: October 14, 2023, 11:27:27 AM
For me the surprise is LGD as i didnt expect to be at top in a group  vs Gaimin glad

Very  surprised  to see both the SEA  teams at bottom, historically  there is a always one SEA dark horse that shows up at TI and makes some big upsets.

Talon still has 4 maps to  play so i am hoping they can  get some wins in and progress to phase 2  Roll Eyes

LGD is already adjusted and back on top to their region while Gaimin is already struggling in the previous tournament so I will not be surprised if they will show slow start on this tournament. They still have a pretty decent standing so far but the second round will dictate whether they are just hiding strategy or they just can’t catch up to the new patch.

Team Spirit is indeed the heavy favorite now after they flawless performance on Riyadh Master. Watching TI is not the same fun for me without old teams like OG, Secret and Nigma(Kuroky). End of an era for the old teams which I’m following when I’m still new on Dota2.
595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: October 14, 2023, 11:18:39 AM
My co-worker are into basketball and we are all betting and so far there’s no problem with our work and I think a good balance is advisable and if you think gambling is stressing you a lot and you are losing your focus because of gambling, then better to stop it now. Some companies are prohibiting this as well, so better to know your policy first before you gamble because you might lose your job just because of gambling, and that is not acceptable.
Quite alot of us are gambling at work at some point and have chosen gambling and working at the same time, and just as you have rightly said, as long as you do not allow your gambling activities to affect your official duties, it may be permissible in some workplaces.

But then also for some of us, gambling is based on just fun for us and at that we will only offer to spend our time while we already free from every other task for the day, we gamble and sleep, mostly on the weekend.

I believe on his case, his co-worker is not literally gambling and working at the same time since he is playing sportsbook which doesn’t need that much attention once place bets. Anyone can place bet quickly using minor breaks on work.

I think playing slot games at work that requires attention is what the OP doing that makes him distracted at work. I disagree that most of us here doing this kind of gambling at work. I will never do this because it’s forbidden at work. There’s a repercussion on doing this and caught since it will reflect on your resume that will make you harder to find jobs in the future. There’s a time and place to do gambling and that’s not on work for me.
596  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Up Move Incoming on: October 13, 2023, 05:58:35 PM
Bitcoin is trying really hard to go above $28.5k but isn't being able to do that. It has tried more than twice, it went to $28.5k and now again it came down after reaching $28.2k which signals that $28.5k is becoming the new resistant and the market will now have to go across that area to be able to reach the least $31k which has been the most significant resistant this year which didn't let the market go anywhere above itself for more than 6 months.

So, seeing the current situation of the market, I also believe that Bitcoin wouldn't be able to go around $40k within the next two months and 3 weeks and we will need to wait to see what the new year brings for us, the starting of 2023 wasn't bad as Bitcoin went up almost $10k in the initial two months, but we can't be sure if 2024 will have the same positive vibes or not initially.

28K is the current strong resistance since Bitcoin keeps pushing back hard whenever it hits that resistance but on the positive side, 25K and 26K level is still doing a good job for being a strong support to absorb strong sell-off pressure after a strong resistance. Bitcoin sideways is getting thinner and thinner which means there’s a strong price action coming either both side.

I don’t want exclude the possibility of insane pump to Bitcoin since bull run always come unexpectedly and in short notice. With just one positive news, Bitcoin price can even reach a 100k level with just a month since we notice already how strong the bulls when there’s a real positive news backing it.
597  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Need a mabile wallet that lets you import a single key and only use that key on: October 13, 2023, 05:01:23 PM
There are a bunch that let you import a key but the change transactions go to a different address.
Basically need an old school single address wallet.

Use the assigned private key on the specific address on your electrum wallet and import it to the wallet of your choice.

This is what I’m doing right now since iPhone doesn’t have electrum while I only want to use my specific Bitcoin address on my iPhone blue wallet. The only repercussion on doing this is you can’t do RBF on your transactions for whatever reason. But this is the feature you are looking for judging your explanation.
598  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Keep your crypto holdings secure!!! on: October 13, 2023, 04:45:59 PM
-snip

Probably this indian owner of lost Bitcoin is too gullible to click random link or put his wallet private key on unsecured place. Worst is he is storing funds on CEX while he should be using hardware wallets considering how huge his holdings in crypto.

With Hamas or not threat. Bitcoin holders should really be vigilant with their holdings since  this is the main purpose of being decentralized. We are on our own in securing our assets safety which is a double edge sword when you don’t have any idea on what is the basic security protocol for your crypto assets.
599  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲BetFury.io| 🤝Referral Program 2.0 | 💸Get $1 500 + 30% from Referrals on: October 13, 2023, 02:53:33 PM
Ok, ok, sure, let them talk. But maybe they should also discuss something else besides "how the the price is and why team isnt doing anything to get into long promised top100 cmc"? As these talks here seems to have no effect at all. If they are all investors, holders of huge amount of tokens, why dont they make a petition? Find owners and ask them on public when they gonna fulfil promises? Instead of adding 5-15 new pages of discussion same thing here?

What is the main issue here? Why the price was almost 4 cents, and now it is 2 cents. Just 2 cents, on a market that cant switch to bull from bear. On the market where every single altcoin lost 50-90% from ATH. Wonder how everyone gonna react when BFG updates ATH and finally reaches top100.

Yet you open again another price discussion topic with this post. The only none price discussion on this post of yours is the opening statement that you encourage to discuss other topic other than price.  Cheesy

Seriously, Your suggestion such as petition is nonsense since BFG token is a utility not a security token that only means the teams has no legal obligation to distribute profit to all token holders. The only thing investors can do about the price is to express their feelings on the social media channel which the team often ignore.
600  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can CEX, institutional investors, whales, hinder or halt the growth of Bitcoin? on: October 13, 2023, 02:23:02 PM
I take it as a bullshit because the only way to control Bitcoin price is you need to own all Bitcoins, while FTX isn't own all Bitcoins.
It would have been nice to know how it was done or how they planned to do it, that is the plan they conspired on to keep the bitcoin price under $20,000 when they did not own all the bitcoins. It is not just possible that she said this if her and SBF had never discussed about this, so I do not totally consider it as a bullshit talk.

An insight on how they really planned to do it would have helped us understand more and better just how much power CEX, institutional investors and whales have.

Simple, They have customers money both Bitcoin and other stablecoins which they can us to open a position with margin since they have a complete control on their exchange. Typically other exchange just use the average price in the market which FTX that time provides one of the huge volume in the market.

They can simply counter all the whales that will push the price up on different exchange by dumping the price their own exchange. No single whale can beat an exchange that use the whole customer money on a trade war.
