581  Economy / Goods / Re: Looking to sell: Two PS-90 Assault Rifles (BTC/Huntercoin only) on: March 29, 2014, 02:23:11 AM
i'm just curious how does one buy a firearm online?

Thanks for asking, it is super simple.

1.  You tell me which one you want.
2.  You let me know who the closest FFL dealer is to you (if you don't know I am happy to find them for you.)
3.  You pay me.
4.  My FFL contacts your FFL and they get all the paperwork straightened out (takes 2 mins.)
5.  I drop the gun at my FFL and they then ship it to your FFL.
6.  You pick it up and go shoot shit Smiley

Super super easy!  Any questions please do not hesitate to ask me.  We do only ship FFL to FFL though.

I take it this is US only?

Finally something you can buy with HUC if you want!

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=545871.msg5960041#msg5960041

(I thought it was fitting, but no taking out generals with these.... leave that in the game!)

That is 5.7x28mm of pure awesomeness! Grin

But living where I do in a nanny state, I'm afraid I'm out of the market. Sad Sigh...

Sporting firearms seem like a perfect fit for Huntercoin. It would be cool to see dealers take HUC.

We have done initial testing and everything appears to be working well. We appreciate any and all feedback.

DigiByte v 2.9 Facts:

Total disinformation! Every first comes from Vaporware Coin!

Ok... after checking it out... I think you're serious! I figured it was a joke!
584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ** UNDERRATED ALT-COINS ** on: March 28, 2014, 04:07:37 PM
Oh, that's an easy question!

  • Huntercoin
  • Huntercoin
  • Huntercoin

It's so massively underrated that I can't come up with anything nearly as underrated.

Yeah, there are many other underrated coins out there, but not by the trillion light-years that HUC is.

585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Should Bitcointalk moderate what coins can be posted in the ANN section ? on: March 28, 2014, 04:03:32 PM
No.

Let us decide what coins we want to mine/buy/sell/hear about/blah blah blah.

Free market blah blah blah...

I get that the shitcoins create a lot of noise. It's a real pisser. But I'd rather have noise than a sanitized version that probably would end up throwing out a few babies with the bathwater.
586  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] [CRYPTO WALLET BACKUP] Backup software for crypto wallets on: March 28, 2014, 03:48:54 PM
I lost a truckload of testnet coins... so I've added in testnet and CONF files:

http://cynic.me/2014/03/29/crypto-wallet-backup-adds-testnet-and-conf-files/

The new downloads include the source code as well.

If you don't use testnet, or you don't use *.conf files for your cryptocurrencies, then you don't need this update. If you do use either, then this is a bit of additional peace of mind.

Still in our thoughts.

Cheesy bek already dead?

The proper word isn't "dead"... It's "tapered"... And no! The rumours of Bernankoin's tapering have been greatly exaggerated! Tongue

Here's a peek at some of the cool stuff coming to Huntercoin & Namecoin:

590  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coins To take seriously: on: March 28, 2014, 09:52:52 AM
A few people have mentioned it, but once again:

Mid-boss: Huntercoin (HUC)

Huntercoin is:

1) The first Namecoin fork
2) The ONLY Namecoin fork
3) Parallel SHA-256 & scrypt merged mined
4) The first & only massively multiplayer online cryptocurrency GAME!
5) Has multiple developers supporting it
6) Has clear and obvious value beyond being a currency
7) Is by far the most innovative coin to come out in forever + a day
Cool Has multiple 3rd party developers behind it

No other coin comes remotely close to what Huntercoin has achieved, and it's just getting started. (Perhaps a few with massive funding/support might be considered, e.g. Ethereum.)

Download the Huntercoin source code and have a look. HUC is one to keep your eye on closely if you're not already buying some up, or playing it! Cheesy

When is Huntercoin (HUC) going live? Been waiting a while now and it's still "coming soon".
592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HUC] Huntercoin - Human Mineable Crypto Currency - Update 21/Mar/14 on: March 28, 2014, 04:54:57 AM
I figured based on the code it would take a fork. But just curious if all these platforms hopefully add players, wondering if the game board would become overly saturated with stacked players.

Also wondering if characters could be killed off if they hadn't moved for like a week or so, much like staying in the spawn area to clean up dead chars.

A new, larger map might be a good idea at some point.

But I don't think I'd worry about old players... I've had countless players "hiding" in relatively untrafficked areas and they invariably get killed. The map/game sort of "self-cleans" itself of old hunters.

593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HUC] Huntercoin - Human Mineable Crypto Currency - Update 21/Mar/14 on: March 28, 2014, 04:53:30 AM
With all the added devices and platforms, will we see a new map?

the graphics can change, the map most probably won't

If I understand properly, the graphics can change very easily but the obstacles cannot be changed (gamemap.h):

Code:
// Note: modification of ObstacleMap or HarvestAreas will create a hard-fork
// (even changing the order of HarvestAreas), because these values are used
// to update the game state.
// GameMap is for visual purposes only and can be modified (visually, it
// should agree with ObstacleMap)

Use oculus to get over it..  If that can't be used then..

I think the point is that any change for ObstacleMap or HarvestAreas (and a few other variables) will cause a hard-fork. I'm not sure what you mean about "oculus" or how that would prevent a hard-fork.

594  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Are you getting off the train? on: March 28, 2014, 04:48:30 AM
Why would I get off the train? It slows down every now and then, but nothing is stopping this train.

CHOO~! CHOO~! Grin

596  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HUC] Huntercoin - Human Mineable Crypto Currency - Update 21/Mar/14 on: March 27, 2014, 11:50:48 PM
As snailbrain's request, we will donate 100 HUC every day for Huntercoin development, starting today. http://www.f2pool.com/

F2Pool have kindly offered to donate 100 HUC every day for Huntercoin Development.

This is going to be a massive help. The funds will be used for bounties, promotion and further development.

We are currently in the planning stages for mobile/tablet development.

The original vision for Huntercoin was for it being accessible to all gamers/human miners, not just crypto currency experts, on all platforms. Due to unforeseen circumstances, progression was slower than expected. Now, we are able to continue at the rate we originally wanted, with an active and enthusiastic team of developers.

What will be done:

1. Eliminate Need for blockchain download (eventually, maybe only hardcore will download chain, & miners, & exchanges.. for secure savings it is recommended to download it).
2. Allow access for anyone to play, not just crypto people.
3. play on almost any device (maybe even on facebook?)
4. play anywhere in the world, instantly (with internet access).
5. Allow more humans to compete against bots.
6. Mobile Wallets, allowing easy payments (server based for now)
7. Huntercoin/Libcoin. Domob is currently in the process of upgrading namecoin onto Libcoin, he will then do the same with Huntercoin. This should make the daemon much more responsive and "up to date". You can find out more about libcoin >> https://github.com/libcoin/libcoin created by Michael Grønager - Michael found the critical flaw in Namecoin which allowed someone to take over any name - http://www.coindesk.com/namecoin-flaw-patch-needed/

and eventually more advanced features, like playing in browsers, integrated guild chat and more.

We are also considering creating a mmorpg game currency exchange, in which you pay in HUCs for normal mmorpg currencies.

off topic side note:

We are proposing adding a mandatory fee for all name_txs (moves) - the fee will be probably 0.005 and 0.01. This should help with blockchain growth and may be reduced at a later time.

WOW! That's fantastic news followed by fantastic news followed by fantastic news! Grin

IT'S A CRYPTO TRIFECTA!

Funding + libcoin for Namecoin + libcoin for Huntercoin? I could just about dance! (But I don't want to look like an idiot... So I'll just imagine it. Wink )

597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HUC] Huntercoin - Human Mineable Crypto Currency - Update 21/Mar/14 on: March 25, 2014, 11:48:45 AM
I've already told snailbrain that I'm available for adding additional RPC commands as necessary (for instance, way path calculation so you need not worry about implementing the exact same algorithm as in the daemon).  I'll do whatever you need.  I'm not sure about name_list, khal is working on that ... I don't know what his exact status is and when it will be bug free.

THAT WOULD ROCK!!!

I've been fighting to get an A* algorithm and waypoint generation algo working. I've gotten some help from Mithril Man, but I'm still not getting the paths exactly right. Game programming like this is not my forte... I've never had any interest in trying any game programming stuff like this until Huntercoin! Smiley

Something like:

game_getastarsolution 0,0,500,500

and

game_getwaypoints 0,0,500,500

Where 0,0,500,500 is start x,y and end x,y.

That would be just perfect.

Is it possible to modify huntercoin so bots can be used only in one or two teams at most?
This will make huntercoin more interesting I think...

Just my own take... but... No.

The only person that can do that is you. (Or anyone of us.)

Huntercoin is a protocol and set of rules. Whether that is followed by humans or not is entirely up to us.

Plans are in the works... Wink

Which are the two three coins? Smiley

1) Myriadcoin - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=483515.0

Not really super innovative, but it uses multiple algos, which is rare. I think it's a good experiment to see how that works out.

2) Fluttercoin - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=509499.0

This introduces "proof of block" or "proof of transaction". Again, an interesting experiment. I think it's worthwhile from a quick look.

I can't really name any others. I'd count Ethereum in another category, as it seems to be more of a protocol - still not sure exactly WTF it is. Tongue Grin

But, there are so many out there, and so many that I've not really looked into as well. There might be something that I'd like, but, I kind of doubt it.

This is all 1 massive experiment though. Huntercoin is really pushing the limits on what can be done compared to most others.

I could totally be wrong about some coins, e.g. Blackcoin, Darkcoin, but time will tell. Some may end up being more useful than they initially appear.
