581  Economy / Exchanges / Re: UPDATE: BINANCE BACK UP NOW!! PREVIOUSLY NOT ALLOWING TRADING. on: June 08, 2019, 10:12:00 AM
system maintenance yeah right! After holding it's customers funds hostage all in the name of a disk failure, come on..BN needs to invest more in backup data storage to avoid any possible data losses because should this ever happen no one will buy this.

For goodness sakes this exchange is still considered the best of the best and right now they need  to reassure their customers that this won't happen  Roll Eyes

582  Economy / Trading Discussion / New Malware Campaign Spreads Trojans Through Clone Crypto Trading Website on: June 06, 2019, 09:32:53 AM
Twitter user and malware researcher Fumik0_ has discovered a new website that spreads cryptocurrency malware, according to a report by Bleeping Computer on June 5.

According to the report, the host for transmitting these viruses is a website that imitates the website for Cryptohopper, a website where users can program tools to perform automatic cryptocurrency trading.

When the scam site is visited, it reportedly automatically downloads a setup.exe installer, which will infect the computer once it runs. The setup panel will also display the logo of Cryptohopper in another attempt to trick the user.

Running the installer is said to install the Vidar information-stealing Trojan, which further installs two Qulab trojans for mining and clipboard hijacking. The clipper and miners are then deployed once every minute in order to continuously collect data.

The Vidar information-stealing trojan itself will attempt to scrape user data such as browser cookies, browser history, browser payment information, saved login credentials, and cryptocurrency wallets. The information is periodically compiled and sent to a remote server, after which the compilation is deleted.

The Qulab clipboard hijacker will attempt to substitute its own addresses in the clipboard when it recognizes that a user has copied a string that looks like a wallet address. This allows cryptocurrency transactions initiated by the user to get redirected to the attacker’s address instead.

This hijacker has address substitutions available for ether (ETH), bitcoin (BTC), bitcoin cash (BCH), dogecoin (DOGE), dash (DASH), litecoin (LTC), zcash (ZEC), bitcoin gold (BTG), xrp, and qtum.

One wallet reportedly associated with the clipper has received 33 BTC, or $258,335 at press time, via the substitution address ‘1FFRitFm5rP5oY5aeTeDikpQiWRz278L45,’ although this may not all have come from the Cryptohopper scam.

As previously reported by Cointelegraph, a YouTube-based crypto scam campaign was discovered in May, luring in victims with the promise of a free BTC generator. After users ran the alleged BTC generator, which was automatically downloaded by visiting the associated website, they would be infected with a Qulab trojan. Then, the Qulab trojan would attempt to steal user information and run a clipboard hijacker for crypto addresses.

583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [2019-06-05] Facebook to Announce Cryptocurrency Project This Month on: June 05, 2019, 11:32:11 PM
Social media giant Facebook will reportedly announce its cryptocurrency project this month, allowing employees to take part of their salary in the coin, CNBC reports on June 5.

Citing a report by The Information, CNBC states that Facebook furthermore plans to cede control of the cryptocurrency to outside parties in order to ensure that the digital asset will not be completely centralized.

Third-party organizations will purportedly pay as much as $10 million dollars for the opportunity to act as a node — to validate transactions — on the network for Facebook’s native token.

The rumored stablecoin — which will purportedly be integrated as a payment tool on WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram — will also be accessible through physical ATM-like machines, says The Information.

Facebook’s own cryptocurrency has been the subject of much speculation over the past several months, as the company has revealed little about the project. Earlier this week, the Financial Times reported that the United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is in talks with Facebook about its upcoming stablecoin.

In May, Facebook reportedly acquired the “Libra” trademark for the secretive project. Sources familiar with the matter claimed that Facebook was recruiting financial firms to develop the coin and that the project codename is Libra.

Later that month, Facebook also registered a new financial tech firm, Libra Networks LLC, with the Geneva Commercial Register in Switzerland.

584  Economy / Exchanges / Re: what are the things to consider when looking for a good exchange? on: June 05, 2019, 08:16:09 PM
For me what I look for in an exchange especially centralized ones
1. Good reputation in the public domain
2. Less to no deposit/withdraws experienced by customers
3. Fees are easily accessible
4. Clean and easy to use user interface
5. Minimum trades allowed should be visible and known before funding own account
6. If kyc is needed atleast below a certain amount one should use the exchange

And the obvious good support, good security etc
585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to recognize a good time to sell a coin? on: June 05, 2019, 07:30:14 PM
The thing about bounty tokens is that most bounty hunters dump coins the moment they receive them and expect price to remain the same.

TBH this makes it difficult for the price to match ico price or go above it , you can't even set a price target. But if price is still looking good I say sell when there is a bitcoin pump because chances are that you get a good price for the coins during this period.
586  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Joshua suffer a humiliating knock out on: June 05, 2019, 06:48:29 PM
The press is already calling this one one of the biggest upsets in this sport
You can say that again!

What really surprised me about this fight is when the fight was over I hardly saw any match highlights or breaking news headlines about this fight despite hearing about the out come somewhere else.

Watched his post match video from his YouTube channel expecting him to go with the rumors of a panic attack but he took this like a man refused to go with this  and accepted the defeat and was only looking forward to a rematch as the fight clause outlined.
587  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I read 250 comments of people saying what they learned from investing in crypto on: June 05, 2019, 03:52:25 PM
Good work OP but what nobody won't tell you to be the successful investor is you need to be different, be the person that's ready to take some risk and fyi what works or worked for others might not work for you. Try find your recipe of success.

Just so you know, everyone needs the basics to survive investing in crypto, which is also my number one guide "Always do your due diligence" and you will never go wrong.

588  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who is going to win the NBA FINALS MVP? on: June 05, 2019, 10:30:58 AM
Hi fellas, I need your opinion on who will win this year's NBA Finals MVP.

Here are the odds from sportsbet

Curry 1.55 - Leonard 3.50- D. Green 6.50 - Thompson 25 - Durant 30 - Pascal 35
Curry has not convinced me much this season to be MVP despite being bookies favourite, but if am going to some money on this it has to be either Leonard or D Green, Durant just lacks the consistency but he would be the surprise package.

Man that Raptors team got game such that GSW can't stop them either🔥
589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are investors realizing that IEO is a silent scam? on: June 05, 2019, 07:44:00 AM
Maybe the reason IEOs don't look successful is because these projects invest less in marketing like ICOs do and time frames for these is usually short which gives no chance to investors to get in late.

Are investors realizing that IEO is a silent scam?
I thought IEOs are a better alternative to ICOs but if this is now seen as a silent scam what is the best alternative then Huh.
590  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The reason we need cryptocurrencies on: June 05, 2019, 07:18:17 AM
Besides the lines of cryptocurrencies having a lenient bureaucracy as compared to fiat, we get to easily make micropayments, don't get charged maintainance fees like what most fiat services would do if you are a hodler, we have the full responsibility of our crypto funds without the middle man interfering
591  Other / Meta / Re: Why my post deleted by moderator? on: June 05, 2019, 06:21:24 AM
Mate I opened the image you posted and to be frank with you, I think you should be more precise with your comments in what you are trying to communicate..there is some repetition in what you were trying to say and the likely reason someone reported it has either being spam, off-topic or maybe thread moderator equally pulled it down for the same reasons.

If you are still not satisfied follow @joniboini advise
592  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Paul Solotshi the pseudonymous Satoshi? on: June 04, 2019, 09:57:56 PM
Something different from the likes of the Craigs...
I like this Satoshi, name sounds almost like the pseudonymous name and him being away for a long time makes some sense that he didn't want to prove himself because he was in prison but if he gets out and is really up to this challenge to claim the crypto seat, we are all waiting...this will change alot in crypto.
593  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which factors influence your decision of choosing an online crypto casino? on: June 04, 2019, 09:25:09 PM
1. Easy communication with the support team
2. Withdraws don't take time to process like over 24hrs
3. User interface must be nice and easy to use
4. No kyc is a deal breaker
5. Security measures available to customers like 2fa is another must have.
6. Promos and bonuses
7. Good reputation around the internet
594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did the use of online gambling increase with crypto moneys? on: June 04, 2019, 08:07:27 PM
I should think so, because with crypto gambling people are not burdened with the unnecessary know your customer which is an inconvenience to many.

People are gamble with less than a dollar which is an another score for crypto gambling over fiat gambling and their are just so many promos for people to win so this might be some of the reasons for increased play.
595  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whales are out of control = $500 in ten minutes on: June 04, 2019, 07:59:53 PM
Time to do something about the few whales who keep cheating everyone out of their life savings.
Are these the same whales that pump the same prices we always look at Roll Eyes

Quote
Let's do a fork and take anything over 10BTC away from those big addresses and redistribute it fairly to everyone.
In a centralized ecosystem that would have been done but where we have no central power one needs to work hard besides this is sounding communist, you can't have what you haven't worked for.

Quote
It is ridiculous and totally ruining everything when one person has 1000s and can mess up the order book on a major exchange.  Where is the fairness in bitcoin?
On centralized exchanges this should be their responsibility to prevent such manipulations

Quote
We have to end the whales who are out of control.
Agreed, but how do you get them
596  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I hate Banks and love Bitcoin :-> on: June 04, 2019, 07:14:46 PM
When it comes to such type of subscriptions a standing order to your bank would have saved you from this disconnection, and if your satellite guys accept PayPal this could be another alternative to consider with their recurring payment plans which save you the trouble of remembering to make these payments. You don't have to hate fiat for this Tongue

597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum 2k in 2 months? on: June 04, 2019, 05:19:34 PM
Do you think eth can reach 2k usd in 2 months time?
First some facts about eth we need to account for:
  • Eth all time high was $1,432.88 USD based on coinmarket
  • Project Nightfall by Ernst & Young (EY) could contribute to its price raise source
  • ethereum 2.0 another innovation that's going to contribute to the success of eth
  • increase in eth address possible sign of ethereum users

Now if we analyze this data 2months to archive such an all time high of 2k in an era that has less price volatility is us being too optimistic, maybe now we should be talking of $250-$400 with some growth somewhere.
598  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Dump: Pure Whale Manipulation on: June 04, 2019, 02:44:24 PM
It's the hard truth about how bitcoin and other cryptos work and in the absence of a central power whales actually run the show around here...guess in the crypto ecosystem you are either a passenger or the driver, choice is yours.

Besides this I really expected crypto to be getting new capital pumped in based on the current trade wars but seems this whole process is a slow one and we need to wait for this to happen.
599  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what happens if Bitcoin dies on: June 04, 2019, 10:28:49 AM
Am just thinking in what way would bitcoin die it being a decentralized cryptocurrency?? It's not like someone can pull the plug and end bitcoin.

If this was to happen many other coins would certainly take the plunge as most coins survive on bitcoins existence as seen by price dependency.

600  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What would you do to recover your losses? on: June 03, 2019, 06:22:47 PM
You have a long list of altcoin portfolio that have tanked down by 90% since you participated in the ICO.  What was $5000 is now worth $500.  You are at a loss of $4000 and there happen to be an upcoming token sale that is pretty hyped.
First we need to accept that hype is not always equal to success so let's not fall for this as people can be paid to shill a project and sing all sorts of praise songs.

Coming back to a tanked portfolio, honestly if you can grow that $500 with something else cashout and don't look back. There is no guarantees that these altcoins will raise again unless it's a well organized project, you can hodl.

You are in desperate need to recover your losses and you plan to invest in that hyped token sale in hope that you can earn 5-10x.  Would you:

1. Pump fresh fiat out of your pocket into the token sale or
2. Trade off the the altcoins you have for BTC/ETH and invest into that hyped token sale.
