61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Super Rich people have nothing to worry about Bitcoin and Blockchain Technology on: September 04, 2022, 11:59:37 PM
Their wealth will be inherited by their children, they must teach their children to make money and enjoy their own labour and they must setup charities to help the humanity.

No, they should be paying tax instead of avoiding it. Charities are nothing more than rich people's tax haven.
Most of the charities are scam with all the proceeds going to some undeserving individual.

Direct Taxation > charity

They need complete understanding to not to fear of the future. First, they did not earn their riches by hard labour, second they must know that they will never use their mountain height of wealth in one life time.

Such elites are afraid of losing their power to decentralized governance/currency/etc
They understand bitcoin in&out, and this understanding only worsens their fear.

As long as we got guy like Vitalik, shilling their centralized network then the elites are here to stay.
62  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the european housing market is about to crash on: September 04, 2022, 11:45:50 PM
This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever read. Why would anyone in their right mind want to sign up for a 50-year mortgage?! The only people who would do something like that are those who are desperate to buy a house and will do anything to make it happen. This is just a terrible idea and the fact that the government is supporting it just shows how desperate they are to keep the housing market afloat.

Given the current state of economy, it is unlikely that people will be able to afford these mortgages in the long run.

Any sane person will wait for the market to normalize before dipping his toes in a market with no demand.
63  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Reason Putin Targeted Kyiv on: September 04, 2022, 11:37:26 PM
Naa, it's all about geopolitics. Got nothing to do with a few billions in central bank.

Ukraine's location holds a strategic value and Russia wants to maintain its influence over its politics(to prevent it from joining EU/NATO and its natural resources).

He wants Ukraine to remain a buffer zone, and of course to not let Ukraine's become its competition in natural gas. He's playing the long game.
64  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: September 04, 2022, 11:15:20 PM
What's up with PCB? Was he really sick or just pretended to break Khachanov's momentum?
Whatever it was, he did break the momentum and is now back in fourth set.

Khachanov +1.5 set handicap was the play here @ 1.88x

Busta broke Khachanov in the fourth as I was typing this lmao He wad pretending to be sick for sure. Sore loser Tongue

Navi vs NIP will be an interesting match. Navi wasn't in their top form, I agree with you on that. Navi lost to Endpoint 2-0 while NIP won 2-0. Does this mean NIP at the upper hand against Navi? Or does Navi keep hiding its strats and just want to pass the group stage rounds before being forced to reveal their strats for payoff rounds?

NIP shuffled their playstyle and it paid off.
I wasn't expecting Rez to pickup awp, but he plays it so much better than pricetag.

Navi fails like a Tier 3 random faceit mixer when their opponent shuffle their deck by not following their usual gameplay.
Anyways, Navi still made it and they clearly didn't deserve it lol

No more Pro League until Wednesday now  Cry
66  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: September 03, 2022, 09:42:56 PM
Fnatic actually didn't play very well, but as a team they were better than spirit. This helped them to win.
Fnatic got firepower and very good players now. The difference in individual skills was very apparent. Chopper is a bot and magixx failed to show any magic. Wonderful was meh.

I am very surprised with Vitality's win over Navi in 2nd and 3rd map.
Vitality hasn't even played Overpass with this new roster and yet they stomped Navi in the second half.
Navi is no longer the same powerhouse.

68  Economy / Economics / Re: Global inflation rate from 2017 to 2027(compared to previous year) on: August 30, 2022, 08:37:56 AM
Thank you, I guess as much that it would be a prediction, that means the world bank is even predicting that there would be inflation every year
There is always inflation because the money supply is constantly increasing. The money supply is constantly increasing because the government is always printing more money. The government is always printing more money because it needs to pay for all of its spending and debt. There's another reason, people generally expect prices to go up over time. This expectation leads to people being willing to pay more for goods and services now, rather than waiting to buy them later when they may be cheaper. This creates a self-fulfilling prophecy, where prices continue to rise because people expect them to.

it is better to always not thinking of saving in fiat, saving in bitcoin or going for investment like gold and real estate is better.

Gold and silver better.
Cryptos are a risk asset, I wouldn't suggest investing more than 5% of your portfolio on it(if your purpose is investment). They aren't a counter measure to inflation.

69  Economy / Economics / Re: Russia - Ukraine war - Exchanges needed for sanctioning on: August 30, 2022, 04:54:53 AM
Seems like these exchanges just need an excuse to confiscate funds and keep it to themselves.

Unless they are going to send all the confiscated cryptos to Ukraine's donation address then I am against it(whether it's targeted or not). It won't be less than a scam if they choose not to donate it.

If they are going to donate 100% of the confiscated cryptos then target only oligarchs, politicians and their relatives/friends.
70  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Why this PHP code is not posting BTC price in USD on 29-08-2019? on: August 30, 2022, 04:47:21 AM
What do you get when you visit the page? Both of your codes are working fine on my end. Tongue

It returns 9753.4870488971, which matches what the API endpoint returns (with the last digit being rounded).

Yup, both of his codes are working fine. I checked it as well.

Something similar happened to me once, there was nothing wrong with code and still it wasn't working. Turned out that my server's IP address was being blocked by Cloudflare. Maybe something similar is happening to OP.

Try making a simple curl request to the api, and see what response you get.

72  Economy / Reputation / Re: 6840 euros missing because of a mistake from Stake.com on: August 30, 2022, 02:37:52 AM
I've lost access to my first account due to incorrect email address.

I guess you have a case sort of.  Im having a hard time buying your new story though.  You were pretty explicit in your first version of events:

I just added one more precision to my story. The order of events presented was correct and hasn't changed, and I am not lying.

Since Stake did not want to address this issue, I am burning my Saturday boost bonuses into the genesis address. I have done so last week and this week and here are the transaction hashes:
d00eef8e87298a65d668ad2cfe0563f7304fd300ab790319e4694cd0929ed05e

abe2d3661649ca6fe5a75e1dabd1aab6145f9a59d149cf8d9d15b02b8c7f9b01

So they might want to close my account rather than waste this money.
Move on bro

I believe that your case is genuine but that isn't enough. There's no conclusive evidence. Only stake has it.

They definitely have a time log(exact time of when your bet got declined) and info on stream delay(like how many seconds of delay). These two facts when combined can prove or disprove your claim. And we have no way to corroborate this info either, if they choose to provide it to disprove your claim.

Nothing can be done here. Sorry.
Unless Stake decides to be generous. Which has happened before.
73  Economy / Economics / Re: Savings during inflation on: August 30, 2022, 02:26:19 AM
Couldn't agree more. Investing in assets such as real estate or stocks is always a better option than saving money in the bank during inflation. This is because the value of assets will increase over time, while the value of money saved in the bank will decrease.

If someone is living paycheck to paycheck, they should not be saving money because it will only put them at a disadvantage.
One advantage of saving money is that it can be used as a buffer during tough economic times. Having money saved up can help you weather a temporary loss of income or unexpected expenses.
Otherwise, it is better to invest in something that will maintain its value or increase in value over time.
74  Economy / Economics / Re: UK inflation to top 18% in early 2023 on: August 30, 2022, 02:15:57 AM
Haha classic Britain always being behind! I mean sure their energy prices have been increasing exponentially for the past few months but at least they're catching up to the U.S.! Just kidding, I feel for them. I really do.

But on the bright side, at least brits have the BoE to help control the inflation! Unironically, they've been doing a great job so far....

Quote
"The question now is what policy may do to offset the impact on both inflation and the real economy," Benjamin Nabarro said in a note to clients.
Perhaps the government should try implementing some policies to improve the economy, instead of making things worse with their haphazard attempts at damage control.

76  Economy / Economics / Re: Global inflation rate from 2017 to 2027(compared to previous year) on: August 28, 2022, 11:59:53 PM
Statista is giving predictions for inflation by year. They are based on what is called historical data, which is a fancy way of saying they looked at what has happened in the past. The predictions are made using a computer model that is made to predict what will happen in the future.

These predictions are not always accurate, because the future is impossible to predict with 100% accuracy. However, the World Bank's predictions are generally quite accurate, because they are based on data from the past. It's probably using world bank as it's source. I couldn't confirm it tho, there was a paywall lol
77  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When Bitcoin switches to post quantum algo - which one will it take? on: August 28, 2022, 11:57:10 PM
Quantum computing is still in its research phase. It's quite early to choose any one algorithm. We got another 10 years easily. By the time quantum computers become powerful enough to break existing cryptographic algorithms, new quantum-resistant algorithms will have been developed and standardized.

I would guess we would need a quantum resistant hash function and quantum resistant elliptic curve. So it probably won't choose any one algo.  Instead, it would likely adopt a hybrid approach that uses multiple post-quantum algorithms in order to be more secure.

And should we trust anything vetted by the NIST? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dual_EC_DRBG
lol
78  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: August 28, 2022, 10:44:55 PM
Surprised Liquid are doing so well, the newer additions to the team must be helping alot to bring them together again.

G2 very nearly wiped out Vitality in 2 maps after an epic come back on Dust2.    Since the odds are well over 2x for a win on Mirage for them and both of these teams are not well rated on Mirage, I think anything can happen and I'll take the bet for an upset.  Niko or Monsey is enough to win but they are all doing good work.
Last matchup they did get wrecked by Vitality on Inferno and Vertigo so the biased odds are justified I guess.  However more relevant might be 14:16 vs Navi a week ago on Mirage, the 3rd map now
G2 has so much better value than picking Vitality here.

That monesy+jks clutch probably shattered their confidence, imagine losing to a no armor glock players with all rifles & utility lmao
They have fatal flaws and G2 should keep the pressure on to bring it to the finish line. They will be prone to making more similar mistakes under pressure.

G2 just won their first buy round of the second half, giving them one round lead. Lets gooooo G2!
79  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: August 28, 2022, 10:39:34 PM

It was a very interesting match . India played very well in the end and won themselves . i enjoyed this match very much and After watching today's match Pakistan Vs India , I became a big fan of India again .

I have seen Pakistan's death over bowling and this wasn't it. India got lucky with Pakistan pacers getting cramped. Their top 2 pacers couldn't even complete the run up. They were throwing wides and giving needless extra runs.

Pakistan had it in the bag if it wasn't for the scorching heat of Dubai. Whoever decided to organize this tourney in Dubai at this month of the year, needs to lookup climate before making such decision.

Anyhow, I was cheering for India's win too but this wasn't satisfactory at all.
