61  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which Sport Has Many Gambling Supporters (State Your Opinion) on: September 10, 2019, 10:17:25 AM
Weird that you haven't included horse racing in your list.
I mean, that sport's existence is basically tied to gambling, though it's obviously not as popular as football in general.
62  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Money is Dirty Money on: September 10, 2019, 09:26:15 AM
I don't agree, but maybe that's because I'm not religious.
Personally, I don't think that it's morally wrong to gamble, just because it's baked into our society and gambling in and of itself isn't inherently bad.

It's something that's done for fun and all around the world in different shapes and forms, most people can enjoy it without getting themselves into trouble.
Sure, you could make the argument that you're getting money (if you win), which you haven't worked for, but there are so many ways that people get something without having put in any effort.
That doesn't mean it's wrong...

I'm completely against using religion as a way to tell people what they can or cannot do.
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We are only rich on spreadsheets on: September 10, 2019, 09:18:21 AM
So, why do you still participate with bounties then?
There are far better ways of earning money, I'd say that currently bounties are just not worth it at all and I doubt they will ever be worth as much as they used to be.

It's a shitty way of promoting your project, marketing that's based on people getting paid small amounts of tokens just doesn't work.
You've got people basically spamming in order to receive a couple of dollars, that just doesn't look good you know...
64  Economy / Gambling / Re: How to spot a scam - Bojoko article on: September 10, 2019, 09:04:13 AM
The article is basically stating that you should only gamble at licensed casinos, while in actuality there are enough reasons not to gamble at licensed casinos.
I mean, I do not want to provide KYC when I gamble, plus a lot of licensed casinos do not offer provably fair games, you basically have to trust a third party for the games to be fair.

There are enough unlicensed casinos which offer instant deposits and payouts and do not require any form of KYC to be submitted.
I think I'll stick to those...
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We still don't have any idea about the real Satoshi, stop false info on: September 10, 2019, 08:59:09 AM
Couldn't agree more, this latest con artist was arguably the worst.
If you've followed his Twitter account, you could see that he was using it to promote some crappy project afterwards.

Any Satoshi reveal these days is purely done for marketing purposes, I reckon.
Anything less than spending the original coins he had mined is just a scam IMO.
66  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: The DigiPiglet Journey on: September 09, 2019, 04:13:57 PM
It was nice meeting you and indeed I'm very happy to participate with this!
I've just sent little over €5 to the DigiPiglet's public address and I'm ready to send it over to someone else.

Now, I'm still doubting who I should send it to, so if there are people here on Bitcointalk who would like to participate, let me know.
I know Stomachgrowls was interested in getting a DigiPiglet, so this might be a chance for you to look at it? Wink
Anyone else may participate as well, I have no problem shipping it to the US or Europe. Some basic level of trust is needed though, so trust scores on Bitcointalk do matter Smiley

I can personally attest that the people behind this project are trustworthy and that the money will go to the right place in the end (with proof of course)!
67  Other / Meta / Re: Overeagerly mods – explanation appreciated on: September 09, 2019, 01:35:14 PM
Ok, thanks, that makes (kind of Wink ) sense. We'll take better care in the future.

Next time, just consolidate your posts.
No reason to make a new post when you can just edit your previous post and add your reply to that one.

If you're doing it purely for bumping your thread, it's once per 24 hours and then you should also remove the previous bump.
Not sure if you have to remove the previous bump if it's a legit reply to someone.
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you staking or mining, or both? on: September 05, 2019, 09:01:08 PM
Mine early, stake later

Huh, what does that actually mean? Most POS coins aren't actually mineable...
Pure shitpost right here as far as I'm concerned...
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Peter Brandt: 99% of Altcoins Will Be Forgotten in Five Years on: September 05, 2019, 08:23:26 PM
There is some sense in what Peter is postulating but I think 99% stated there is an exaggeration. Some few projects are doing really well and in 5 years time, if there are no general severe setbacks in crypto, they will still exist. I was expecting to see projects like EOS, XRP,  XLM and a few others as exception but the reverse is the case.

Of course it's an exaggeration, I'm 100% sure that articles like these are written to get as many clicks as possible.
Everything is just a hyperbole statement these days.

Heck there will be quite a few projects from the CMC top 100 that will probable make it.
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you staking or mining, or both? on: September 05, 2019, 06:51:17 PM
I'm currently only staking and holding cryptocurrency.
The main coin that I stake is Steem, I get quite a good APR on that, plus it also increases my influence on the platform.

I'm just a blogger, but I've staked so much on Steem that my upvote is actually worth something by now, even with the Steem price being so low.
71  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Scammer - a proposed resource for scam reports. on: September 05, 2019, 06:48:20 PM

I think the other thing is that a website looks a lot more distinguished than a forum, everyone can post on this forum only one person can own bitcoin scammer. Com for example so it makes it a bit more authoritative.

Good point actually.

Like, there's also some incentive for me to write an article on a website versus on a forum.
I can't really use a forum post as part of my portfolio, while I could definitely use an article on Jet Cash's future website for that purpose.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind writing for free, but it's always nice when you can use that content to basically prove your worth.
A forum post doesn't quite accomplish that goal Tongue
72  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Scammer - a proposed resource for scam reports. on: September 05, 2019, 05:51:54 PM
@AdolfinWolf

Sure, you can already see this on the forum, but that isn't a reason to not start your own website.
The forum is very limited in its capabilities and I've heard many times that people don't tend to read it because this forum just seems to be from another age. (the UI is pretty dated...)

On a dedicated website you could have all the info in one place, together with articles that arm people against scammers.
I think that's a good idea, you can't have enough reputable websites that analyse and prevent scams IMO.

Plus, I really can't be bothered to write a good blog post on here, I'd rather have it published on an actual website.
Most writers would frown upon writing blog posts on a forum I think.
73  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Scammer - a proposed resource for scam reports. on: September 05, 2019, 11:01:12 AM
I personally don't think it would be a bad idea to make this.
It's always good to have a public record of what sorts of scams are floating around.

I'd be willing to write a couple of articles and add scams whenever I see a new one pop up.
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone buying Ether ? on: September 05, 2019, 10:53:21 AM
I'm still buying ETH all the time, just not for holding Tongue
There are tons of DApps that use ETH, so if you want to use any of them, you just kinda have to buy ETH.

It's not all about investing either, I tend to play some blockchain games just for fun.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FREE] Instant Invites to Steem(it)! on: September 04, 2019, 08:34:20 PM
Free invites are back! I still have quite a few to give away, but for now I can only give you around 30 Steem Power delegation alongside them.
A lot of people have taken me up on this offer and it's starting to get quite expensive to give away large Steem Power delegations.

Don't worry though, 30 SP is more than enough to do just about anything on Steem.
76  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto hodling as a form of gambling! on: September 04, 2019, 08:26:09 PM
My experience has been the exact opposite, once we've reached the all time high, I've sold just about everything, minus some Bitcoins I was holding since 2013.
Then I just started buying again when the price hit around 4k - 5k.

Mind you, I've also started buying altcoins, despite the fact that we've not seen them rise significantly at all.

I think I'll just keep following the "strategy", whenever I see the word "all time high" pop up, I'll just get ready to sell them.
77  Other / Meta / Re: Merit stats - road to legend, zero to hero, I wanna be merit source too ?? on: September 04, 2019, 06:01:57 PM
It's not because someone has a signature that they're automatically spamming.
Sure, you might see a lot of similar threads in the Meta board, but the ones that are somewhat good are usually the only ones that receive any merit.

We already have 2 boards where signatures are not displayed, Serious Discussion & Ivory Tower.
Should that rule be expanded to the Meta board? I don't know, I don't see a real need for it personally, but I also wouldn't mind if they did remove signatures from Meta.

Hardly ANY seem to be willing to contribute without spamming gambling sigs or mixing sigs and some are spamming with more than one account. Cabalism13 wants to post sig spam with his mommas account aswell... is that not okay?? or is that bad or maybe he does not want to anymore or perhaps never did, hilarious needs 2 to spam from,  The pharmacist and HugeBlackWoman want one each LOL ... to name but a few.

Don't know what you're referring to with this. Most campaigns have rules against using more than 1 account, so could you expand on this?
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is it safe to exchange big amounts? on: September 04, 2019, 04:48:13 PM
I wouldn't use Shapeshift for larger amounts, even if you've provided KYC.
I personally use Kraken for anything above 1k USD, never had a problem with them and their support is extremely good.
79  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: DigiPiglets - BTC Piggy Bank - Kickstarter Campaign live on: September 04, 2019, 02:25:52 PM
@DigiPiglet & @stomachgrowls

Thanks for the kind words Smiley

Well, if you want to boost the article, I can always buy some votes for it to get it higher on Steemit.
That's completely up to you though, it's kind of a double edged sword, while it may get higher, it can also attract downvotes because buying votes is frowned upon by some people.

Though I suspect people won't downvote this, because it's pretty long and original content.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Peter Brandt: 99% of Altcoins Will Be Forgotten in Five Years on: September 04, 2019, 12:54:00 PM
What I find funny , is he thinks bitcoin will still exist in 5 years.  Cheesy

Bitcoin Business model has ever increasing energy costs, ever increasing ASICS costs, ever increasing warehouse costs,
with decreasing rewards and LN stealing transaction fees.
While it competes with services that do not have these problems.

I would agree 90% of all coins are dead in 5 years, with the possibility that bitcoin is one of the dead ones.

FYI:
ZEIT will be the Last Coin Standing. Wink
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2QJlBpwIHYU

Hmm, I really doubt that Bitcoin will not be here after 5 years, it's one of the very few coins that has a lot of institutional investors behind it.
I don't even think it's likely that Bitcoin would be gone.

When's the last time Bitcoin has gone under $9000, the bottom is also ever increasing, so your point about increasing costs is kinda moot with high Bitcoin prices accompanying that.
