1021  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Alternative to Patreon? Clica.net, a membership platform based on Bitcoins on: December 28, 2018, 03:27:37 PM
You've already seen it on Twitter, but I'll mention it here as well.
I've written an article for you and got some pretty positive responses on it.

https://steemit.com/news/@daan/censorship-free-alternative-for-patreon-and-subscribestar-support-creators-with-bitcoin-through-clica-net

I hope it brings some more people to your platform Smiley
1022  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Wordpress theme for bitcoin? on: December 28, 2018, 03:04:46 PM
i only saw this >> http://diamondthemes.co .. you can check if there's something there that you want.

They do not accept bitcoin at all, only Paypal.
Plus, I've never heard of this website, I'd find a service that's a bit more trusted than this one.

I feel like there should really be a template store that accepts Bitcoin. Maybe one of the existing ones would be willing to accept Bitcoin payments?
1023  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where is a good place to play slots? on: December 28, 2018, 02:54:31 PM
I'm a big fan of the slots over at Crypto-Games.
They might not be the most interesting ones out there, but I like them because of their simplicity and relatively low house-edge.

They usually have a lot of promotions going on that are not tied to one particular game, which is a big plus in my book.
1024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will PoS completely replace PoW in the future? on: December 28, 2018, 02:33:12 PM
POS leads to partial centralization of the system. Since not many users can afford to buy a large amount of cryptocurrency to participate in mining. Therefore, those coins that want decentralization will use POW or hybrid Protocol. Especially now that renewable energy sources are developing very strongly.
You mean POW will be possible for comparatively cheaper ? Who can afford to buy ASIC equipment to compete against industry level miners ? I don't think POS is leading to centralization. If it is true then this problem is also applicable with POW consensus. If centralization is possible in POS then I guess 51% attack kind of other attacks also might be possible.

Now is actually the best time to buy mining equipment at discount rates. Lots of bigger mining companies are selling their miners very cheaply, just because the prices have slumped so much lately.

I reckon small-scale operations could still be profitable, but it entirely depends on how much they'd pay for their hardware and electricity.

If you live in an area where you can benefit from hydroelectric power (very cheap), then I imagine it would still be profitable to mine Bitcoin, even at these prices.
1025  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Problem: Lost today $2000 on PrimeDice on: December 28, 2018, 11:58:10 AM
I would highly suggest seeking professional help for your gambling addiction.
You have a real problem when you spend that amount of money and can't control yourself.

Casual gamblers don't spend more than they're willing to lose, so you don't fit into that category any more.

Here's some information about gambling addiction, I really suggest taking a look:

https://www.psychguides.com/guides/compulsive-gambling-symptoms-causes-and-effects/
https://www.priorygroup.com/addiction-treatment/gambling-addiction-treatment
https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/healthy-body/gambling-addiction/

Please get some help, so you can avoid doing the same in the future.
1026  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: VIRWOX STOPPED ACCEPTING PAYPAL/Credit Cards on: December 28, 2018, 10:40:46 AM
Oh bummer, it would suck if they stopped accepting Paypal altogether.
Perhaps Paypal shut them down or something like that? I thought it was against Paypal's TOS to use it to buy crypto.

I'm not 100% sure of that though.
1027  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin stolen. Electrum exploit / phishing on: December 28, 2018, 09:52:56 AM
Thanks for sharing it here, I definitely would have missed this news, since I barely visit Reddit any more.
Luckily I only use Electrum to receive small amounts, but it would have sucked if I'd fallen for this.

It prompted me to check out the official Electrum Github page, just so I can memorize that account.

Regardless, I think I'll just always download the binaries from their official website and update manually.
1028  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎅Crypto-Games.net 🎅4 Years Old 🎅LARGEST wagering contest 🎅Christmas presents on: December 28, 2018, 09:23:44 AM
Well, I have 26 faucet claims every day and I bet 0.00000100 BTC on either x450 or x1450
Per faucet claim, I roll 17 or 18 times, so if I use all my faucet claims, that's around 450 rolls per day.

I don't hit the x1450 one every day, though I've been pretty lucky the past couple of days and managed to hit it a couple of times, that's just variance I guess.

I wish I could look at my entire betting history, then I would be able to give some more accurate numbers.
1029  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Wordpress theme for bitcoin? on: December 27, 2018, 08:52:26 PM
@shield132

My mistake, you're correct.
I don't think there's such a service, at least not one that I know of.

Unless you're willing to pay someone to make a custom theme for you.
Though that could end up costing you quite a bit more than just buying one.
1030  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto Social Journalism - CoinScribble on: December 27, 2018, 07:21:30 PM
Our content is now indexed on Google News. Google News has strict standards so not all CoinScribble-created content is eligible for indexing unfortunately. That being said, the reach of CoinScribble has never been greater and we are happy to have everyone on board.

Good to hear that! I might do a follow up article for you, free of charge this time.
If you have any significant news or stats to share, please do, I'll include them in the article.

I'll definitely include the news of Coinscribble being indexed by Google News.
1031  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: bitcoinvideocasino.com is it scam casino or not? on: December 27, 2018, 05:25:41 PM
I've still played there from time to time, they're not scamming anyone afaik.
Withdraws are still being processed instantly, unless you win big, then they process them manually.

They still reply to e-mail too.

I do think they switched management a while ago, but nothing to be concerned about IMO.

My suggestion is to pick the other site than choosing the shady casino which is not active anymore on this forum.

It's not because they aren't active on the forum that they're shady.

Found a few options for you:

Google is your friend, it's pretty easy to find suitable themes.
1033  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just heard of Bitcoin, teach me. on: December 27, 2018, 03:04:09 PM
@franky1

Okay, you got me...

I should have explained it a little bit better.

OP is a newbie on this forum, do you really expect him to earn +90 USD a week by posting in this forum to support his education?

In fairness, yes OP, you can actually earn pretty decent on this forum, but only if you put in the time.
By that, I mean you'll basically earn nothing before you become an established member.

So if you're willing to invest X amount of months, even years into this forum, yeah you will be able to earn a somewhat decent living here, just by posting.

That said, you can actually earn Bitcoins straight away, without going through all this hassle, also on this forum.
The thing is though, you need an actual marketable skill to do so.

Are you a decent writer? Put up a topic in the Services Boards and sell your writing skills.
You're a programmer? Same as above, if you're decent, you'll probably be able to earn a good amount of money here.

I fully admit that my responses might have been a little short-sighted. OP's post just seemed as though he was looking for a get-rich-quick scheme and thought that Bitcoin was the solution.
I'm a bit jaded in that regard.

I should just have given all the options in my first post and for that I'm sorry.

. pure comedy

Well hey, at least I made you laugh  Tongue
1034  Other / Meta / Re: Reporting ICO bounty spam on: December 27, 2018, 02:40:04 PM
Somewhat of a fair point @mdayonliner

Rebuttal though:
They can put in a little bit more effort and just post their results in a better format.
Okay, there might be a better way to tell them that, than just reporting them.

So, maybe I should just send them a PM and ask them to stop quoting their own posts so much and instead ask them to make a short summary instead.

IDK, would like to hear some different opinions on this, preferably from a moderator.
1035  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎅Crypto-Games.net 🎅4 Years Old 🎅LARGEST wagering contest 🎅Christmas presents on: December 27, 2018, 02:34:29 PM
I have a question regarding possible faucet abuse.

I've asked this in the past, but I've since then changed my strategy, so the previous response isn't applicable any more.

So, I've been using the faucet to play dice. After my faucet claim (worth 0.00001740 BTC), I play dice at either X450 or X1450.
With that I usually get a few wins every day and use those winnings to play roulette.

Would that be regarded as faucet abuse?

It's not that I currently withdraw those winnings, usually my goal is to reach at least 0.01 BTC through roulette with those winnings and that maybe happens once a week if I'm lucky.
In the future, I might just withdraw as soon as I reach 0.002 or 0.003 BTC.

Can I keep doing this or should I stop?

Keep in mind that I'm also depositing pretty regularly.
1036  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just heard of Bitcoin, teach me. on: December 27, 2018, 02:22:40 PM
Since you are a student, you might find bitjob.io to be interesting. Its a Student job marketplace where you can register and find jobs in there. Its a beta version but I think there are already listing in there. You will also be interested in Ethlance.com because this is already a working job site. I've always wanted to find jobs there but its the skills that I don't have.

What the f***, I regret visiting that website.

Talk about bad design, you can't see part of the content because those social media buttons are covering the text :-/

OP, freelance work might be a good idea, but use a trusted website for that.
Upwork will work just fine and Fiverr might be an option even.

Most of these Bitcoin-based freelance websites don't have enough people that actually use them.

There might be a few, but certainly not the one that bittraffic recommended.

I mean, just look at this:

1037  Other / Meta / Reporting ICO bounty spam on: December 27, 2018, 02:13:05 PM
So, I've been steadily increasing the rate at which I'm reporting spam, but I have a question regarding spam replies in ICO bounty threads.

Is it okay to report spam replies to bounty threads? You know, these replies where people just quote their own posts 10 times.

Example:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5023814.msg47833236#msg47833236

In the end, it's just pure spam and it doesn't contribute anything to the forum, so I should just report it, right?
Or is this sort of stuff kinda condoned because it's contained within these bounty threads?
1038  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just heard of Bitcoin, teach me. on: December 27, 2018, 01:49:04 PM
Just get a student job, you'll probably earn more with that.
Bitcoin isn't some magical way to earn money, despite what many people will tell you.

Take it from someone who actually does work full-time in the cryptocurrency industry.
By work, I mean actually working, as in that I earn a full wage by working for a company that just happens to be in this industry. (no I'm not talking about this signature campaign, that's just a pretty sweet side-gig)

Edit:

Based on your keywords, here is the best forum that you can learn for earning money.
Learn bounty and airdrops on this forum, and you will earn a few later.

Oh really? And how much do you earn for spamming the forum?
Couldn't be more than a few dollars per week.

Over a thousand posts and you haven't earned a single merit. Yeah you're a real asset to the forum  Roll Eyes
1039  Economy / Economics / Re: Mining cryptos by harvesting body heat on: December 27, 2018, 12:24:35 PM
It's an interesting proof of concept, but I really don't see this sort of technology coming on the market any time soon.
I mean, have you seen the video in that article? The technology isn't exactly fit for day to day use yet.

Again, interesting article, just not really practical.
1040  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My former boss asked me how can crypto tech help him on: December 27, 2018, 10:30:42 AM
Look, if you yourself have to ask here how he can use crypto, you shouldn't be advising him in the first place.
I know that might sound harsh, but you're going to save yourself from a whole world of trouble if things don't work out.

Let's look at the easiest and most straightforward suggestion you can make: accepting Bitcoin/cryptocurrency as payments from customers.

Now imagine your boss allocates resources into making this happen.
Then it doesn't bring in as much revenue as he'd hoped
Who is he going to blame, you think?

Same with running an ICO or investing into creating a blockchain.
If the results aren't good, you're going to be the one who's held responsible.

Again, the fact that you have to ask here, in a way that's so vague, tells me that you definitely aren't the person who should be giving advice on this.

Don't listen to anyone in this thread who's advising you otherwise, they're not in a position to be advising you, they're only here because they earn a couple of dollars each month for posting.
They're probably somewhere in a 3rd world county in some internet café, putting in the hours to make ridiculously low amounts of money by spamming this forum.
