521  Economy / Gambling / Re: Online Gambling at Real Slot Machines on: May 09, 2019, 10:42:35 AM
It's definitely a unique idea and I don't see why it wouldn't work.
I mean, if casinos can have live roulette and blackjack games, then live slot games would also work I'd think.

Also, it would be cool to have this at a cryptocurrency casino, just because of the novelty factor.

Btw, good luck with your lawsuit!
522  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Hack and The Rollback on: May 09, 2019, 10:30:21 AM
Am I the only one who's pissed that they even suggested this?
I mean, the audacity they have to even make a suggestion like that prompted me to instantly delete my account at Binance.

Quote
“To be honest, we can actually do this probably within the next few days. But there are concerns that if we do a rollback on the bitcoin network at that scale, it may have some negative consequences, in terms of destroying the credibility for bitcoin.”

Source: https://www.coindesk.com/binance-may-consider-bitcoin-rollback-following-40-million-hack

It may have some negative consequences, yeah right. That's going over it pretty lightly to say the least...
That just shows to me that they have way too much power.
523  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: DigiPiglets - BTC Piggy Bank NEW SAMPLE PICS - First 10 Orders 50% off on: May 09, 2019, 10:10:47 AM

524  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⭐ Crypto-Games.net ⭐ 4 Years Old ⭐ No bet delay on dice every Monday! ⭐ on: May 08, 2019, 03:36:50 PM
Good to see a casino running from 2014 till now. It's definitely worth to try it out.

Uh----huh and what's your point? Just looks like ordinary shilling to me.
They're still in business because they've been completely honest with their customers.

No scandals, no hacks or whatever. If I'd want to promote them, I'd at least write something that's more personal than that Tongue
Not that I think you're actually getting paid by CG, probably just increasing your signature payment here on this forum...

526  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Now Streaming on Amazon Prime Video: RIZQI PRESENTS BLOCKCHAIN on: May 08, 2019, 09:53:47 AM
Great work bringing blockchain more into the mainstream!
I'll definitely rent out Season 1 on Vimeo to check it out, €4.42 isn't that expensive after all Smiley
527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: There should be a wikipedia page of casinos that accept bitcoin on: May 08, 2019, 09:43:36 AM
Wouldn't it be better to just make a list like that on the Bitcoin wiki?
Now, I'm not sure whether that would actually be allowed, since everybody can just edit those pages. Not sure if edits are reviewed before publishing them though.

I would just suspect that people would start adding their affiliate links and that it's going to be a real mess to moderate.
528  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⭐ Crypto-Games.net ⭐ 4 Years Old ⭐ No bet delay on dice every Monday! ⭐ on: May 08, 2019, 09:37:01 AM
We have new XMR deposit addresses, please use the integrated address for all deposits.

Also, we'll delist Peercoin on June 1st - https://blog.crypto-games.net/2019/04/important-announcement-delisting.html

Do you have a roadmap, or a rough plan on Lightning Network integration in Crypto-Games? I believe gambling sites are possibly one of the biggest catalysts for its growth, and to supply demand for liquidity for incoming channels. Maybe some users might start playing on Crypto-Games to get liquidity for incoming channels. Cool
Did not came on our "to-do list" yet, but we'll review it...working on something else currently  Tongue

Oh? I'm curious what you're working on, I get that you probably can't give any hints as to what it is, but you might have a possible timeframe to share? Tongue
My prediction is that it's going to be a new game Wink Something PvP would be nice.
529  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Adult site CamSoda Accepts Crypto-Currency on: May 08, 2019, 09:33:50 AM
who the fuck pays for porn? like seriously
I was going to ask the same question and I doubt anyone will say that pay to watch pornography
New to porn? Tell you what:
The best porn videos out there are only available for members with subscription since most of them were produced by high-budget studios/producers.
Also, most free videos are either stolen contents by uploaders or "short previews" of a full video.

Short previews commonly consists of bundled 10-20 seconds scenes of the whole video, you will not enjoy it as "porn is all about the plot"  Smiley

Most people who watch porn on the free "tube"-like website really don't care of the content is stolen or not.
I think the main selling point of porn, would be the fact that video's are fully available in HD, and indeed, not just short clips.

That said, free porn will also get you there Wink And at least you do not have buyers remorse after you've...
530  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance lost $40.7 million to hackers, which exchange is next!!! on: May 08, 2019, 09:24:44 AM
It's at times like these that I'm extremely glad that I never keep any coins at exchanges, not even for a day or so.
I mean, it could definitely be the case that they're just revealing the tip of the iceberg and that the hack is much more severe.

I definitely wouldn't be surprised if they come out in a couple of days, mentioning that their cold storage has been compromised.
531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin now supported by Coinbase! on: May 03, 2019, 09:18:56 AM
Never thought I'd see the day that Dogecoin was listed on Coinbase.
They've come pretty far, if you think that it all started out as a joke coin.

I do like Doge, transactions are a lot faster than Bitcoin for example, I tend to use it for gambling Smiley
532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Jaguar testing IOTA rewards for drivers on: May 02, 2019, 11:00:08 AM
I definitely hope that other car manufacturers jump on the bandwagon, just so there are other options besides luxury cars.
Definitely didn't think IOTA could get such a big company to use them though, really shows the massive potential of blockchain-based applications for the real world.
533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Crime is getting Worse, what do we do? on: May 02, 2019, 09:54:06 AM
It's actually pretty simple, just don't get scammed.
Most scams happen because people are stupid enough to fall for it.

If something looks too good to be true, it's usually a scam.

Don't keep your coins on any sort of wallet on the web, use either a hardware wallet or a secure desktop wallet.

The chance that someone will break into your computer, without you having downloaded any malicious software, is really really small.
Most scams happen because of mistakes that the victim has made.
534  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I want start a social network but somethings holding me back on: May 02, 2019, 09:37:18 AM
You don't need a big understanding of programming to be able to create a social media platform. There are lot of options out there for users to chase their dreams. ICO's, crowdfunding, and investors all exist for a reason and don't be scared to use them.

Here's an idea. Create a pitch deck. Put all these ideas you have for the next big social media platform onto paper, add budgeting, how will development work and a timeline. Then go talk to some venture funds, investors or even hold a crowdsale for it. An idea isn't valuable unless there is work put behind it.

Good luck!

I don't know about that suggestion, I mean I wouldn't recommend anyone starting any sort of crowdfunding campaign, if they have nothing more than just a concept.
For me to invest or recommend a crowdfunding campaign to someone, at the very least I'd want the project to have a working prototype.

Just something that shows they've put effort and money into it themselves. Not just an elaborate idea basically.
535  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Lack of Bitcoin debit card providers on: May 02, 2019, 09:12:48 AM
I've recently started using a Bitcoin debit card that's not actually marketed as a Bitcoin debit card, namely the one from Neteller.
Aside from supporting Bitcoin, it also supports about a dozen other payment methods to load up your card, like bank transfer, Paypal, various local payment options (Ideal, Bancontact, etc.), ...

They do charge a 2.5% fee for depositing Bitcoins, but other than that the fees are pretty limited.

Have you ever made a Bitcoin deposit and then withdrawn money to the ATM with the card?
Because I always believed that with Neteller we could only deposit (wallet only) and it was not possible to convert it to $/€/£ and then withdraw the money with the card.

Well, I thought I had, but actually not, I'd withdrawn the funds that I had deposited through other payment processors.
Just read this bit in their FAQ:

Quote
Note: Funds deposited via Bitcoin/Bitcoin Cash are available only for transfers to merchant sites, and to other NETELLER members. These funds cannot be withdrawn via ATM*, used for point of sale purchases.

https://support.neteller.com/PAYMENTS/Deposits-Money-In/85238436/How-do-I-deposit-via-Bitcoin-Bitcoin-Cash.htm

That sucks, it's the primary reason why I ordered their card :-/ Just have it since 4 weeks ago.
536  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: People who gamble are degenerates, change my mind. on: May 02, 2019, 09:01:28 AM
~ But is to much too call them degenerates, they are not, most of them dream to catch an high bet and become millionares, but some of them have a problem and is not a joke.

I agree with this, we shouldn't call names here. There are two types of gamblers: those who gamble for entertainment purposes(the vast majority, over 95%) and addicted gamblers that should be rather called sick persons than degenerates. Although the former ones do expect winning some money from their gambling activity, they never risk amounts big enough for ruining their lives, and thus if they lose it is not that painful for them, and they don't chase their losses. In short, most gamblers are not sick, and those who are still shouldn't be called degenerates.

Where do you get those numbers from? I think the percentage of problem gamblers is actually much higher than 5%
Most casinos are actually run in a way that turns people into addicts and they definitely make most of their profits from people who are addicted.

Mind you, this isn't a call to make gambling illegal or anything, I'm just saying that I think the percentage is much higher than 5%

Sadly, I won't be attending, I'm based in Europe and I'm pretty busy with work the next couple of weeks.

Sorry I only saw this response on the Steemit platform so late now,,, I wanted to share that I also actually spent a lot of time on that platform, writing original thoughts and really putting effort.

In the end I got not even a single comment, the few upvotes from random strangers, people posting to ask me to join some thing or whatever. I got more organic traffic from my free blog rather than from Steemit, so it was very disappointing for me as a crypto platform. I will think about this again later down the line if I ever start writing again. Thank you for the information you guys are sharing.

That's really sad to hear, I wish you would've asked me for some help sooner.
It's completely true that you won't get any engagement or upvotes if you just join Steemit and start writing, without looking further into it.

If you decide to try again, I can introduce you to some communities and suggest some tags you can use on your blogs, so you will get more upvotes and comments.
It really is a pretty tight-knit community and you do have to know some people in order to make it there.

I know it's not an ideal situation, I wish there was a better system in place for good content to get discovered.
That might change soon though, I know some projects that are working on it.
538  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Satoshi Nakamoto? A New Journey and Candidate [Great Read for All] on: May 02, 2019, 08:00:05 AM
The larger texts were a bit hard to read with that font against that background, but I really do have to commend you.
It's not often that a story like this ends without naming anyone, purely for ethical reasons.

That's what I find most distasteful about most of these hunts for Satoshi's identity.
He clearly wanted to remain anonymous and I personally feel that should be respected.

So, kudos for turning this into an interesting story, without actually naming him!
539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trading or Recurring earning through dividend??? on: May 01, 2019, 04:55:51 PM
I definitely prefer earning through dividends, trading is way too risky for me personally, just because I don't have the expertise to trade profitably.
Currently, I have a couple of ways that earn me daily dividends, more specifically on the Steem blockchain.

Still looking for more interesting POS coins that would allow me to earn, just from my stake.
540  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Liquidity Is Essential To A Functioning Marketplace on: May 01, 2019, 01:41:26 PM
I mean that's basically just the same as saying that water is wet...
The article you've posted wasn't that interesting because it's clearly meant as a promotion for Vertex, which is fine but there just isn't any substance to it.
