Anyone want to total the amount of rejected claims?

just wondering the amount of Bogus claims vs accepted
to see if the amount that was "lost" in btc was truley lost vs. the amount they "found (202k btc)"

The total claim in JPY is a staggering 263519268303371, so that means about 2150 billion Euro !!!!
Total accepted claim in JPY is only  45609593503, so that means 372 million Euro.
So basically 1 in 5770 is accepted Huh!!!

You can download the complete PDF. It is incredible to see what BTC amount people lost: there are many in the thousands and quote a few who lost 10k to 50k btc.
There's even one guy who claims 4.6million BTC

There's a strong possibility none of the "rejected" claims was actually true. Since there was no penalty or legal prosecution for someone to fill a bogus claim, only the person's fantasy could limit what he/she would claim. FWIW: I believe that the true claims were a bit more and as previously stated here, there were some people that were holding their stash there for anonymity reasons.

Even those who did not provide a surname and name though, since their account was active and contained some BTCs had a very good chance claiming their possessions and probably did. I'm more concerned about the distribution procedure. Anyone here filled his claims with Kraken? Did anyone receive a notice regarding ETA of the funds?

MtGox seems to be in the mainstream media too. Here's another article that you guys may find interesting:

Quote
$2,411,412,137,427.

That figure — $2.4 trillion for those with an untrained eye for very large numbers — is in the same ballpark as the annual economic output of France.

It is also exactly the amount that people around the world claim they lost when Mt. Gox, the Tokyo-based virtual currency exchange, collapsed into bankruptcy in 2014, after huge, unexplained losses of the volatile digital currency Bitcoin.

do i have to withdraw all my nxt in exchanges? and keep them in the wallet? and just wait?
please tell my what i have to do with my nxt coins. thank you.

btw: the timing is not the best. lsk is getting so much attention at the moment.

For now, keep them where you like.

The snapshot proces will start with the mainnet version of Nxt NRS 1.9, which is still a while away.

Is there an ETA or any early betas?

Edit: 01.07.2016 - just saw it in the OP. Tongue
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Announcing Nxt 2.0 on: May 24, 2016, 05:43:48 PM
how can i the coins?? is there a wallet... please guide me anyone

I'd propose an exchange like Poloniex with high liquidity. NXT is at very nice entry price considering what's coming up next. These kind of "windows" are pretty rare. I'm not going to keep my coins there though. My experience with exchanges is not the best there is... I'd advise you guys the same. Roll Eyes

69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Announcing Nxt 2.0 on: May 24, 2016, 05:09:29 PM
Regarding the possibilities that NXT once had, it really suffered to pretty bad management. I learned about the current devs and their incentives and decided to invest in it (long term). Either way this thing has reached its bottom price, the ability to take a front seat towards NXT2 via this purchase makes me think that the potential to succeed is pretty good.

70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Announcing Nxt 2.0 on: May 24, 2016, 10:20:48 AM
So, I think it's time we buy NXT... the price feels right at the moment. Can you please ELI5 how could we import our old NXT coins to the NXT2.0 if we wish so? Would it be sufficient to store these coins into an exchange for example until the release of the new wallet; or should we download a NXT1 wallet/client in order to store our coins in there?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

I guess speculation will be over tomorrow. Regardless of what the outcome will be (ie: getting back something or nothing at all) this process closes a significant chapter in Bitcoin world. For most people it was a nice lesson to learn:

"If you don't own the private keys, you don't own the bitcoins"

Good luck to everybody.
72  Economy / Speculation / Re: PnF TA on: May 16, 2016, 09:41:58 PM
Been lurking a while. Always appreciated your stuff Klee.

Have to say though, your out-of-character outbursts yesterday speak volumes mostly about your own position. I already guessed you are partly banking on the inverse price relationship between BTC / ETH.

They have also made me feel more bullish about BTC than I've felt in a while. Although I should say my previous bullish timing on Bitcoin was... off the mark, to say the least. Cheesy

I reckon there may now be room for both BTC and ETH to grow in parallel. The inverse price relationship is a tenuous phenomenon not based on anything fundamental.
My outburst was exactly because the ideal is BTCUSD to rally while ALTBTC rallies too!

If BTC dooms it will cause me an enormous amount of stress even if ETHUSD rallies.

It is because I saw BTC topped while ETH bottomed that made me take this position in the first place though.

3000 is a distribution area, whales alone will not break it, we need massive volume from everyday people.
I don't see this to be honest.

Finally, I got very emotional for BTC because IMO a failure here, combined with the halving, can be far more devastating than most think...

I think the inverse relationship between eth and btc is a strong correlation for now. Alts will parallel btc when btc hits a true bull market, and imo, only after significant gains are achieved in btc. This is due to veteran crypto holders moving into btc during the bull run and thereby suppressing eth (and alts in general) initially. Then, when the rally is well ingrained, and the price is out of reach in late comers minds, they pour into alts, triggering the flip on correlation and alts rally in parallel. This is what happened with ltc in 2013 and to lesser extent, other alts like namecoin and such.
I have fully mirrored my BTC trades with my eth trades for the last few months, and with the exception of a few trades, it has worked out as well as some FX correlations. I will continue to make trades like this for the foreseeable future as I still do not believe this is the bull run
Agree in all!

Actually now the killer pair is LTCETH!
+1 from me.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
@Klee: yes, LTC is a nice alternative to ETH when the later is down and ETH is a nice alternative to LTC when LTC is down. Unfortunately, this requires 24/7 in front of a computer which at the moment is a luxury I don't have... Sad

Props to be given where they belong: Congrats Klee for predicting 2hrs ago the ETH pump. Cool

I'd suggest you provide scientific evidence that (for instance) QM or ST are BS. Most of the theories described above are falsifiable.

I'm waiting... Smiley

Yes the formulas might work out, but they dont represent reality, and have absolutely no demonstratable evidence that they are true.

String theory is the Keynesianism of physics, on paper it works out, but in reality it's horrible Cheesy

Ah yes. Reality. The key word to our perception of the world around us. With all due respect I'd indulge you to read Plato's Cave. I'm mostly sure you will understand that you can't simply aphorize a scientific theory by just appointing it to a false reality (or leftism ideas, for that matter). It's a nice read, even if we continue to disagree, Plato always offers a nice advice.

Goodnight from Greece.
