601  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos, when KYC will be introduced? on: December 02, 2023, 11:29:59 AM
In this regard, the entire crypto-community has the following question:

When have you becomes the public relation officer of the entire bitcointalk members, why can you include everyone making this kind of demand, isn't it better that you make you a thing of your personal approach than general one, afteral I don't see the reason why you created this thread as being genuine enough to still remains open for comments, it's better you lock it before the moderator does so, if you have any comments to make, why not go to the main thread to comment there.
602  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on staying responsible. on: December 02, 2023, 10:53:37 AM
Let's discuss the unique challenges of responsible gambling in the world of cryptocurrencies.

Crypto gambling can be fun, but it's important to keep our financial boundaries intact.

Share your tips and thoughts on staying responsible in this digital realm.
One of the tips that a gambler should follow to stay responsible is to keep their emotions under control. A man can claim to be a responsible gambler whenever he can control his emotions. Then 1 to 5% of a gambler's monthly income or weekly income should be spent on the gambling platform. Keeping track of betting wins and losses is one of the tasks of a responsible gambler. A gambler who can comply with all these tasks can be accepted as a responsible gambler.

I like your here, being an emotional gambling does not oays than it hurts because when you're too controlled by your emotions, you get confused about what is next in line to do, this then martk the onset of irresponsible gambling kind of lifestyle, may be if sometimes we do take a look on the rate we use in gambling and how we have won those bets and compare to the ones we loosed, maybe we could actually think about the rate of money that would have been involved under loss.
603  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Phishing scam on (exchanges) altcoins addresses on: December 02, 2023, 10:15:07 AM
What happened
I do not want to reveal my Binance address which will be the reason I will not show the proof but people on this forum on English board know how this is real. You will see many scammers address that ended with your Binance address, continuously sending you 0.000357 USDT to 0.0005 USDT with the addresses similar to your Binance account address as you know USDT is a token on those chains. The rate this is happening to me continuously has increased and it happened again yesterday.

I also make use of Binance but never experienced anything that has to do with this, i also ensure that I don't leave my bitcoin address open publicly or any other chain addresses am having just for privacy purpose, but I've heard some other people saying thesame thing happening with them in situations like this, i think this is more about the exchange in particular or the platforms we use that host our wallet addresses that these scammers got them from.

The scammer's target
The scammer's will generate address similar to your Binance account or the exchange account that you are using because the address are fixed and not changing like bitcoin address on noncustodial wallet. They will generate as many as possible addresses similar to yours in a way if you only look at the characters ending your exchange account address and the scammer's address, their last 7 characters are the same. The hacker is thinking that if you want to send coins to your exchange address next time, that you will just copy and paste his (the scammer's) address on your wallet directly which is easier instead of going to copy it on your exchange,l account, thereby copying a scammer's address instead but thinking it is yours, using it to send money to the scammer, thinking you are using it to send money to your Binance or exchange account.

What a serious trick is this, we have to be careful with anything that has to do with copy and paste, in most cases, i ensure to check the first five or six characters and the last ones as well to make sure that they tally with the ones am sending to, it's also better that we always copy directly from the wallet address on the exchange and then verify it was the inded address copied and paste.
604  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Target Prices and Resistance Levels? on: December 02, 2023, 09:21:35 AM
Why are target prices and especially resistance level terms that people use so much?  What is the point of saying target price unless you are going to buy or sell btc at that price?  Or is that what people mean by the target price?

This is just like you're trying to perform a trade and decided to make use of a limit or instead of a market order, you can wait for long without having your order being confirmed with the value of the rate you place for the market to sell, so it's more easier to use a market order than limit which is under assumptions, if you guess right, you win and if you don't then you losse or keep waiting for your order to get confirmed, we may not be always accurate with the way we predicted our own market view, remember we are dealing with a volatile currency, it can go the opposite of what we presumed.
605  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The fate of mixers. on: December 01, 2023, 01:33:25 PM
Do the mixers actually know where transactions are coming from, maybe to not allow the transaction if it's from a criminal organisation. For instance, if Mr Bob wants to mix bitcoin he used to purchase arms in the darker, will Sinbad know that the particular coin is coming from dark net transactions? If No, it therefore means all mixers are vulnerable and can be taken down at anytime.

Mixers are doing their job just to maintain user's privacy, scammers are also using the banks to make deposit and there's nothing they can do about it as long as they are not making a request on how they source fund their money, the gover should better understand this that mixers are not the bad actors here, it's the people, but can they regulate this, obviously no, you shouldn't be able to be questioned on the source to your fund you have, the real theives are the governments here.
606  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you work toward hodling bitcoin? on: December 01, 2023, 01:06:23 PM
There are many means through which i can choose to hodl by bitcoin Investment, but first i have to realize the kind of Investor I belong, am i holding just for a short time in other to participate in making trade or I've turned it an invest that a hodl over a longer period for my asset value to he maintained, sometimes i use DCA to accumulate my bitcoin holdings and then continue building the portfolio gradually towards having more to hold for a targeted season to sell.
607  Economy / Economics / Re: The power of investment choices on: December 01, 2023, 12:28:08 PM
It's not enough having an investment plan, knowing the right choice to make for every investment defines the investor better. Take for example jumping on every new coin we find on reputable exchange might not be enough guarantee that coin will do well in the future.]/quote]

There are times we development interest in making an investment even though we know less about what we are intending to invest on, but yet we never see it as risk for someone not to have an experience in what he's making an investment on, cryptocurrency is a digital networks that allows thebuse of digital coins to make payments or be use as an asset , but that doesn't mean that every other cryptocurrencies are valid for our investment because some of the were nothing than shitcoins, but when we know how to make the right Investment, we already made the right decision.
608  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Selfish Nigerians on: December 01, 2023, 10:50:53 AM
Even at this age people are still selfish and self-centered when it comes to sharing update that will help the next person, I have a friend who do genuine things and make genuine money  and he knows I am a student and I need something doing so as to get some of my basic needs as a student but he never tell me about it even when I keep going to see him often he never opened up anything to me

Aside the unwillingness of others that makes them not to teach others about their source of income, you can bear with me that this is all about trusting someone you wanted to teach, cwnntgey confide this same trust in them, can they cope with learning, will such person not abuse the whole thing, we need to look into some certain conditions and circumstances also that are involved in this things before we make a decision on what to do or not, you also can testify to the fact that people could be do annoying and disappointing plus being untrustworthy, also there's nothing like a law that states you must make your own money from the same thing your friend does to earn his, yours may be different, what if what he does are illegitimate things, can you cope.
609  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Happy Xmas to 9ja local bitcoin community! on: December 01, 2023, 09:35:12 AM
Happy new month/Xmas my 9ja people! as we don enter the end of the season, wetting we don Achieve this year so far? Because celebrating this Xmas without person achieving a tangible thing for this year, e go hard person celebrate am.  although no be only achivement we dey celebrate, but also the life our baba God don give us. E no mean say we no go also celebrate our achivement. Our achivement na a driving force to carry celebrate the end of the season.

It's still a new month which is the last month in the year 2023 this month of December is also a good indicator just as October signal us for a bull market when we first started it, i can see that from the early hours of this new month that the market is fast rising and bitcoin was around $38,200 and other altcoins were also rising along together, it's a perfect way to start a month and also expect that althrough the month is going to be a favourable crypto season, but the Christmas is still about three weeks to this time, the month is still fresh and there's more to expect coming from it before the new year.
610  Economy / Gambling / Re: Slot Educational on: November 30, 2023, 05:41:17 PM
Lol! Good initiative by the people, but I feel that such parades do very little to help out of control gamblers fight their addictions. What truly matters the most is inner willpower in these cases.

The ones that posess strong willpower can overcome their gambling addiction while the ones with weak willpower will probably never overcome this issue.

To me i see this as more of letting gamblers realized the possible ways they can use in gambling slot and how they can play to enjoy the fun in it by having the full understanding of the game itself, this education procedures may not actually target on addiction, though it can work awhile in such regards but we have to understand that addiction is something we have to personally deal with from our own side, it can work, am not contemplating on the impossibility but the probwbility of its effectiveness.

DT system is centalized or decentralized? Poll

I think that DT is not decentralized as many try to present it to us
Because when someone is kicked out of DT - it happens instantly. How can decentralized decision making be instantaneous? Only a centralized decision can be so instantaneous

You may be actually right, just as the criteria for being a DT member also is not decentralized, which means you're saying that DT is centralized and to join or leave is also a decision to be made by either the members or the admin itself, but we can also channel it as being decentralized in the sense that you can be added by anyone who trusted you and when such detrust you as well you get nucked out, though there's more to this in which i believe other experienced members could tell in explaining more to us about the way the system works.
612  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Understanding and setting up the right security measures. on: November 30, 2023, 04:34:47 PM
If you have other areas you think we should consider taking very seriously, share it here so we can all learn together.

We have to be very careful with the way we take some control measures against being scammed or hacked, so that by doing so we are not making a vulnerability to create an avenue for the same attack we are trying to avoid from happening, that is one thing to consider when choosing a security measure, we should always make sure that we are not leaving a loophole down for them to use in tracking us completely.
613  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Treat exchanges the way you treat your casino accounts. on: November 30, 2023, 01:42:12 PM
It should be common knowledge by now that we're not supposed to leave our coins in an exchange, sadly it's not.

It is very common, it's the people who are not having the required knowledge that could lead to their realization of this, it's just as if you're having a package but doesn't know what's in the package for you, if you're using an exchange, you're the same as someone using a bank.

We have an opportunity to have full control of our money. A system different from the traditional banking system, so what purpose is moving from the traditional banking system if you'll just end up keeping your money in a centralized exchange?

The bitcoin network is always available for the sake of those who wish to have their bitcoin on their non custodial wallet, noody is stopping others, but they were not aware of the
614  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Preparing and protecting bitcoin future holders on: November 30, 2023, 10:02:37 AM
We know that everything has it time and that we can't continue to become relevant in this field forever and will have to eventually leave it someday in the hands of the younger ones who will continue the advocacy and push for bitcoin adoption in our country and also Considering the fact that it is not all that feasible to hosting sensitization programmes in schools and public places  that could help in educating the younger ones about the functionality of bitcoin and the necessity of it adoption in our country, I'm concerned regarding the fate of future bitcoiner in our country and and what we can do to educate the younger ones on the benefit this has to play in the ease of global and local transaction in  the country.

As long as bitcoin remains as the way Satoshi Nakamoto himself had planned everything to work and the network never cease from conforming to the blockchain technology protocols, then nothing can stop it's adoption and awareness to the world because it's such a currency that people will always love to have as an alternative to fiat, if the government cannot stop the bitcoin adoption and awareness, nothing can stop it, we can only try our own best in making sure that we contributed out best to ensure that others learn from us and we are part of the reasons why some can smile at having the opportunity of knowing bitcoin that have changed their lives.
615  Economy / Economics / Re: Inventing a job is better than finding a job on: November 29, 2023, 03:17:30 PM
If we really understand what it means to be independent, then we will always want to invent on something than working for someone who already have invented his own idea, working under a boss has alot of challenges, you cannot consider yourself first before taking the  kind of job you do into consideration because you wouldn't want to loose it, only few havebthe mind of creating an idea that could turn to a massive output that others could benefit from it, not to talk of the numerous challenges involved alongside the way of getting it established.
616  Other / Meta / Re: Has Bitcointalk lost it's appeal for projects to announce themselves on? on: November 29, 2023, 02:56:37 PM
Observed lately that not many crypto projects announce themselves on bitcointalk these days. Currently successful projects like Ethereum, MANA, AAVE (back then ETHLEND), NEM have anns here, but as years passed we see projects stopped bothering with bitcointalk.

What do you think is the reason? Has bitcointalk lost it's charm?

Not that projects aren't coming, some are yet to make a decision on making a signature campaign or to create their ann thread, we are still having some coming and you could see them from the rate which signature or bounty campaigns are coming each day, but they also have to have the assurance or referrals that guaranteed them a maximum outcome if they uses this platform for their service, more are still coming just as some have been here already in the past.
617  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Only Sell what you don't need. on: November 29, 2023, 02:19:16 PM
Have seen many posts in the forum posters sharing their excitement about how they sold their property's to buy bitcoin and that's what called for this thread. Some claim to have sold land/landed properties, cars and other equipments. Yeah' no body has a right to dictate for you on how or what to do with your property , it is yours anyways.

In every steps or decision we are taking, we must always apply wisdom, it's not about Investing in bitcoin that marks the end of poverty but what we understand by any of our decision to make an investment in it, making an investment is by choice and chance, we can't afford to sell what is giving us profit to invest on bitcoin when we don't have any backup for sustainability as our source of income, this kind of a decision is what makes some people to sell when they can't bear to hold any longer, we can learn to earn instead of selling properties to invest in bitcoin.
618  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Coping with debt and the loan apps saga: on: November 29, 2023, 01:45:23 PM
I've seen so many people that are into taking loans from different platforms online and later were running helter and scelter because they were unable to make refundments this loan apps or website have their rules, some will keep disturbing you once the due date is reached and also try to take your case up for further investigations through the KYC informations you have provide with them, the also have your bvn numbers which links all your bank accounts together, thy may decide to withdraw their money if you are not giving them any positive response in making t repayment of your overdue loan taken from them, so my advice is for you not to start what you can't finish.
619  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Will our girls ever change? on: November 29, 2023, 12:50:42 PM
The idea say "nobody really de reason you" don affect our girls negatively on a serious note

If we let our girl children move along with what the society is offering the community today, they may be corrupt because the average teaming youths nowadays are going on wrong pattern with bad orientation that is not good for their age and growth, we must make sure that we are very aware of everything all our children were upto and how they move or deals with other people in the society.

The majority of girls are just concerned about competing with themselves and will go as far as doing anything just to measure up with there fellow girls

That is when we allow them to move oit with friends that will renders all our efforts on them into waste by teaching them bad morals

You go see girl when never see better food chop with wig when de more expensive than her house rent all in the name of measuring up

It's their own kind of business strategies, they will spend expensive on their hair to be able to look more attractive to their other partners who may because of that find interest in them for a hook up, this is the wayward kind of life many of the girls are living today in the society.

Most of them no even de skilled and the only thing when them think say de reasonable for them to do na to go into hookup or date guys when de ready to pay for those frivolous expenses.

They didn't learn skills or trades right from when they were young, how would they perform well now that they have grown up with thicker skin.
620  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling all about luck? on: November 28, 2023, 05:38:42 PM
Imo gambling is 50/50 about luck, and other 50 goes to money. I have stated for myself that people gamble for two reasons, to test their luck and to earn some money. I saw people say that gambling is about having fun, I even myself have thought like that. But lately, when I started to feel pressure or be nervous after placing a bet, then it does not looks like having fun. However, I cant say that being lucky is enough to be good at gambling. Can we say that in gambling luck=random? As gambling is full of random occasions.
Trying your luck and gambling for money is the same thing. When you are trying your luck, you are doing that to see if you can win some money or not, and when you are gambling for money, you are basically trying your luck, so they are the same thing in different wording. However, when someone asks if gambling is all about luck or not, one should say that if you are talking about gambling games, then yes, it's all about luck when you are playing a game as the outcome will be random and dependent on your luck.

But, if they are talking about sports betting, then one can say that it is more about knowledge, experience, and skills with just a small influence of luck because it's your knowledge and experience about a sport that enables you to choose the best side when a match is happening and luck will only intervene in some cases where the team that is unlikely to win manages to win.

Right, I really agree with what you said. So I think most of us gamblers believe that our winnings are always based on luck. That means that no matter what others say, if they have a technique to win, you will always end up being lucky in the end.

Because the gamblers who do what they thought were effective tricks that they experienced to win and their winnings grow and then, in the end, are still lost, such scenarios are still based on luck and bad luck.

Our winnings could also base on luck and sometimes on how skillful we appear in gambling, especially when we are playing on bets we know how to do best, this is also what goes along with our experience and how we understand the whole procedures involved, even we may not leave one for the other in this context, we all need both luck and skills to make gambling enjoyable by us.

We cannot also assummed that only the experience gamblers are the ones always winning, as a matter of fact, a lucky newbie can also bet and win, while the experience gambler loosing, this is all fun to me because everyone gambling has thesame chances for winning or loosing.
