601  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Do You Manage Your Adrenaline Rush In Gambling? on: September 12, 2023, 06:35:49 PM
I have a mild one when playing and it isn't hard to cope with. It's just a little feeling of excitement, so I don't gamble before going to bed as it would make it hard for me to fall asleep, but it can really wake you up when you feel tired and sleepy in the afternoon.

I felt a real rush only a few times and this is that feeling you get when you think you sent money to a wrong address, or forgot your wallet password. You can also feel it when you check your pockets for car keys and they're not there, but you are out somewhere and know that you can't go back without the car.
This type of fearful rush is impossible to conquer, it just takes over, makes you sweat and feel like a nerve wreck.

Personally, I find alcohol useful in these cases. That's why people drink it for courage, because it makes you ignore some of the warning signs and distance yourself from problems.
602  Economy / Speculation / Re: Michael Saylor predicts Bitcoin can go to $5 million? on: September 12, 2023, 06:22:09 PM
At the present time, Bitcoin is struggling to maintain the level of $25k, which if it is broken, I do not think that we will see the beginning of the upward path during this year, let alone reaching $5 million for Bitcoin, which requires the price to be about $90 trillion (larger than stocks, gold, and  US public debt)

On one hand claiming 5 million when we aren't even at 50k is ridiculous, on the other hand, claiming that "breaking" this or that price to the upside or downside will automatically mean something else, like a long road up or down, is just as ridiculous.

Bitcoin going below 25k means nothing, just like when it went above 32k people were saying that there was a golden cross and now it means that it will go higher, or when they were saying that since we went from 16k to 25k it means we will keep going up, or like when bitcoin broke above 60k in 2021 and they were screaming 100k. All of these predictions are worthless.

The truth is that nobody knows where the price will be in a month and it could as well go to 23k and back to 30k in 1 week.
I know for a fact that after the halving it's going to be higher than it is today. It may not be 100k, but it will for sure be above 30k, so this is a great opportunity for people who want to get some.
603  Other / Off-topic / Re: If I were a woman of childbearing age, I would reconsider starting a family... on: September 12, 2023, 06:04:42 PM
If her man can't get her pregnant that's one thing, but why should she stop trying just because someone made an assumption that some vaccinated man might have problems in that matter?
Let's not go out because someone died of covid, let's not have children because someone somewhere got the shot and became sterile. That's stupid.

Out of 1406 studies screened, 29 were included in the systematic review. These studies, conducted in Israel (34.5 %), USA (24.1 %), Russia (20.7 %) China (10.3 %), Italy (3.5 %), North America (3.5%) and Turkey (3.5 %) were of poor (34.5 %), moderate (58.6 %) and good (6.9 %) quality. Meta-analyses were performed for pre- and post-vaccination sperm progressive motility (44 %, 95 % CI 42 %-62 % vs 43 %, 95 % CI 31 %-59 % p = 0.07) and concentration (50.6 mln/ml, 95 % CI 35.1–72.8 vs 55.4 mln/ml, 95 % CI 37.4–82.2p = 0.12). Biochemical (0.51, 95 % CI 0.40–0.66 vs 0.60, 95 % CI 0.53–0.68p = 0.45) and clinical (0.45, 95 % CI 0.37–0.54 vs 0.47, 95 % CI 0.40–0.55 p = 0.31) pregnancy rate did not differ among vaccinated and not vaccinated groups. Subgroup meta-analyses based on the type of vaccine showed no significant difference: between vaccinated with mRNA vaccines and non-vaccinated regarding biochemical pregnancy rates; pre- and post-vaccination with Gam-COVID-Vac regarding testosterone, FSH and LH levels; pre- and post-vaccination with BNT162b2 vaccines regarding sperm volumes.

Based on the studies published so far, there is no scientific proof of any association between COVID-19 vaccines and fertility impairment in men or women.

I have noticed while traveling around the USA, that when I am in or near cities, big or small, that I feel irritable. It goes away when I get outside the city a certain distance. It's not a gradual change in mood. It's a sudden change, all at once, like a curtain dropped.

Maybe you have your mood swings? Maybe speculating about being a woman got you to experience PMS? Cheesy
604  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Owner of 8K bitcoin lost in landfill threatens to bankrupt local council on: September 12, 2023, 05:51:31 PM
The more I think about it this guy's only hope for sanity is some sort of total amnesia. As far as I remember his story he was very early denied to search for his harddrive at times where it would've been quite likely to find the device intact, at least not yet corroded. With every year of time passed chances grow higher that corrosion destroys data and recovery of those diminishes.

To my knowledge (sorry, no sources) he got investors who gamble for their share of the 8k BTC treasure. Despite all odds there are serious trust issues if he were allowed to search the landfill. Everyone participating in the search likely knows what treasure might be left stored in the search item. Doing all by machines and today's common buzzwords only sounds like sci-fi and you don't want to miss your opportunity, you've got likely only one chance. Yada, yada, yada...

And yes, if he would find the device, could have the data restaured, he'd be such an exposed known person that he'd likely be subject to worse or worst things even if he could keep only a half, third or quarter of the treasure after paying out his investors.

What a sad life's story. Total amnesia and relocation is his only rescue, I guess.

I agree, it's going to destroy him, unless he gets some psychiatric help. His life must be one big regret. I doubt that he can live a normal life and enjoy it unless he deals with this loss and moves on.

i don't want him to ever be allowed onto that landfill. under any circumstances. Shocked

Is that your landfill? Why would you care about some random guy digging in a pile of garbage somewhere? I feel like everybody should be allowed to do these things as long as they aren't making other people's lives harder. Finding the drive could make some people happy, so why not allow them to do what they want with their lives.
605  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is not going to $12k. on: September 11, 2023, 08:04:21 PM
The price of bitcoin that I can foresee for bitcoin to go low is $22k. That's the lowest price I can say. Any price below that will be difficult to break before the halving and bull run starts.

I don't have such limits in mind. To me it doesn't really matter if it goes to 22k or 21k, or 20k... Al of this is below the 200 week average, below the fair price of bitcoin and probably already below the mining cost floor, although I haven't checked that for some time.
Bitcoin is already severely undervalued.
If it goes below 20k it's going to be even more. A rubber band can be stretched to a certain point, but you can't keep doing it forever.
In 2022 the cost of mining was already above 15k USD and it keeps going up. If you forgot to get on the train at 16k, you missed your chance.

When it comes to talking about losses, it's a war, in reality both sides are losing. The interesting part is that a much bigger and stronger country is unable to win, pretty much like Soviets in Afghanistan, or Americans in Vietnam.
607  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Owner of 8K bitcoin lost in landfill threatens to bankrupt local council on: September 11, 2023, 07:21:13 PM
I don't think there is any way he can get his Bitcoin back since he lost the hardware many years ago.

I agree, but he wants to try, why are they denying him the right to look for it?

Quote
He should have look for a way to get the hard drive when the scene was still early.

But he didn't. What's done is done, but he knew about it years ago and wanted to try then but was denied.

Quote
Even though he don't want them to carry out work in the site, how does he think that he will be able to find the hard drive.

Doesn't matter, let him try. He's got a special company willing to do the job.
608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Control Your Emotions and Win More Bets on: September 08, 2023, 06:18:44 PM
Controlling your emotions would work wonders if you bet on sports mostly but it won't do any good when you play a dice based game like dice.

So dice is a dice based game... Interesting. Cheesy

I agree with this because IMO in most games staying calm and controlling your emotions won't let you win. All you can gain by doing it is maybe look calm and composed while taking a loss and showing others that you don't care. What about the situations where you gamble alone in your apartment and nobody can see you lose? Is there even a point in staying calm?
In gambling it's all about getting that win. You can try to fool yourself that staying calm will decide the odds, but it won't.
609  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How does an online Foodbetting site sound? on: September 08, 2023, 06:09:12 PM
Eating is like the opposite of a sport.
Who's going to watch people eat for fun?

Uneng will Cheesy

Yes, I like food competitions and enjoy watching challenges on Youtube. I think it would be an interesting activity to bet on (...)

I don't get why someone would enjoy watching these people eat like pigs while snot drips down their noses and into the food, but as they say, to each their own.
Food competitions are just as disgusting as they're unhealthy.
610  Economy / Gambling / Re: No KYC Crypto Casinos & Sites | NoToKYC.com | Exclusive Bonuses on: September 08, 2023, 05:57:11 PM
The problem is that many casinos don't require KYC right after signup but only after the gambler initiates a withdrawal. This seems like a misleading business practice to me, but almost all crypto casinos are doing it.
Anyway, good luck with this project, OP.

This would be straight up cheating the player. A casino must have it in the rules that all players are required to undergo the KYC procedure and players have to accept that upon registering.

If they simply forget to ask players early on, it's usually because it takes time to process documents, so companies don't ask you for it right away but wait for you to start gambling. There's a lot of new players who make accounts and never deposit anything, or deposit a small amount like $10, lose it and never play again. It would be a waste of time and resources to try to approve everyone the moment they register.
611  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How does an online Foodbetting site sound? on: September 08, 2023, 05:46:53 PM
I don't support food competitions since they often lead to serious health problems that the contestants ignore just to have some fun and show off. Our bodies are not made to ingest such ridiculous amounts of food and people who do it often get serious problems with stomach contractions, since it's a muscle that can stretch, but stretching it too much damages it, just like any other muscle can be overworked and damaged, it's just that you can't fix this without a surgery and you can easily die from it.

IMO eating competitions are much more dangerous than MMA and people often come unprepared. They don't know what can happen to them.

Also, there's not much professional supervision, no real federation that cares about people playing by the rules. It's not a sport as far as I know.
612  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting Features on any Banking or Financial apps should be Removed on: September 07, 2023, 07:26:55 PM
What's the name of the bank? There's also an advertisement below about gambling.

Want to become a client? Grin

I don't think banks in the EU have that. There are rules restricting gambling that limit the access to such services.

If there are banks that offer people easy access to gambling through their banking apps I'd say it's taking things a bit too far, but then there's a problem of local laws. It's possible in some Asian countries this is completely acceptable and in accordance with the law, in which case we can't do anything but maybe stop using the bank and boycott its services.
613  Economy / Speculation / Re: How do you suggest I handle incorrect price predictions? on: September 07, 2023, 07:05:59 PM
Why should you even try to handle wrong predictions? It doesn't really matter if you get this right or wrong, unless you have open positions on exchanges waiting to be filled.
It's impossible to predict bitcoin's price accurately time after time. Some people manage to do it once, then fail, then get it right again and so on. You make a single prediction, fail and see it as a problem, which it is not.

Operate on facts and the facts are:
-fiat money is losing value all the time, so it's bound to be worth less in time than bitcoin, which slowly gains value due to growing cost of mining and limited supply.
-bitcoin is eventually going to surpass its ATH. Don't try to guess when, but I'm pretty sure it's going to be by the end of 2024.
614  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto or Real estate on: September 07, 2023, 06:20:29 PM
I think you are just evading taxes for your Crypto gain  Grin (j/k).  Cryptocurrency and Real estate are two different entity so their taxation have different approach.  Real estate being a taxable tangible asset is subject to taxation  by the government  while Cryptocurrency being an intangible asset is only subject to taxation when there is a capital gain.

Anyone can read the links for more information:
Taxable Asset
Intangible Personal Property: Definition, Types, and Example

Anyway, I also prefer cryptocurrency because of the sole reason of having a low entry point, and higher chance of gaining profit due to its current status of being in early stages.  Aside from that due to the same reason @coolcoinz stated, holding it is not taxable until we sell it at the higher price. While real estate is subject to annual tax even, reason why some think of it as a liability than asset when left idle for years.

Yes, I am Cheesy Not joking here as according to my local tax laws I'm supposed to pay when I turn my coins into fiat money, so I hold for as long as I can and trade OTC as much as I can. Fortunately, barter transactions are impossible to track, so you can sell bitcoin for cash all you want and exchange it to goods and services as long as the other party is ready to accept BTC as payment.

I'm also a guy who likes to have things under control. When I own a piece of land I have to be aware of every single thing and fight for it every single day. I'll give you an example. I have a property near the woods. One day it got hit by a lightning and it damaged lights on the gate and the intercom. I had to replace that. The other day, a tree fell on the fence, I had to go there, cut it down, fix the fence. And this is a property that nobody lives on and I still have to pay taxes and pay for natural damages. I don't have similar problems with my bitcoin.
615  Economy / Economics / Re: To afford personal education or a property? Where to allocate funds? on: September 07, 2023, 06:03:11 PM
I have a degree myself, but I wouldn't recommend it to others and I wouldn't do it again.
If I had the money to choose education or start a business I'd choose business, because I chose education once and it landed me in a worse situation than some of my friends.

It depends on the amount of money that you have. If it's 100k, you won't get a good property for that, but you can get decent education, so the answer isn't clear at every single situation. You have to approach it on a case to case basis
616  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Biden administration unveils (proposes) new crypto tax reporting rules on: September 06, 2023, 07:46:13 PM
Of course they'd like total surveillance and it was said long time ago that exchanges are the weakest point of bitcoin and that's what these crooks from the government are attacking. They're even going after the ones that were trying to play by their rules (coinbase).

Let's hope Biden administration is not there anymore by the end of next year. This cancer has to be cut out. I don't think we were getting so much negativity towards cryptocurrencies. from any other US government.

617  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin and get rich quick syndrome on: September 06, 2023, 07:30:58 PM
First understand 1 BTC = 1 BTC, saying Bitcoin will make you become rich or poor is incorrect, as long as you not sell your coins, it's still an unrealized profit/lose.

Hoping you can get rich quick through Bitcoin is completely wrong, in order to get rich you must have high income, so you will have a lot money to invest. If you only work and get paid with average salary in your country, you need to bear few people cost in your house or a sandwich generation, it's impossible you can get rich through investing Bitcoin only.

On one hand you use the slogans coined by bitcoiners, fiat critics and people who hate speculators (1btc=1btc) and then you use wall street terminology (unrealized loss).
Decide on which side you are because wall street will hate the buy and hold, and not your keys not your coins people, but they;ll gladly introduce you to terms like high risk assets or shorting bitcoin with leverage.

I say fuck all those chart masters who will tell you that bitcoin is in a bear market because a line crossed another line, or because it went down 20%.

In 2021 bitcoin made a new ATH, lost 50% from its ATH and then made another ATH. If we operate on wall street's terms it was in a bull market, then bear market, then bull market again and ended up in bear market in November, all in 1 year.

Bottom line, hold it and they will eventually come begging that you sell it to them for the price it is today, mark my words.
618  Economy / Economics / Re: CBDCs are created for unemployment purpose on: September 06, 2023, 07:20:12 PM
Well that looks like the face value or literal conclusion of it that CBDC could phase out fiat and banks, I could be tempted to move towards that allusion but what about the influence of government and control they always want to have on the economy majorly through financial and payment platforms which is fiat and not crypto. So government won't give such leverage for digital currency to take over entirely. Therefore, the banks are going nowhere but we could have reduced staffs at the time CBDC is fully implemented.

I'd be more worried about their control over me and the other people.

I like how someone once said that CBDC means central bank digital control. This is 100% on point and if you see any other explanations or good sides of this crap, you're oblivious to what they really want and what the end game for the governments is. Surveillance, control and subdual of the population, so that you're unable to protest, unable to hide income and do anything unlawful that involves currency, unless you're able to hack the system, or use another form of payment, like barter or crypto.
619  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto or Real estate on: September 06, 2023, 07:08:56 PM
Crypto.

Why?

The answer is very simple, I don't want to be a slave to the government.
Show me real estate that doesn't take from you. If there was real estate I could buy and hold without any expenses I'd take that over crypto, but there's nothing like that.
Everywhere you have to pay property tax and often also pay garbage fee and maintenance. I have a small apartment that I've inherited and that costs me about 1k USD a year, even if it's completely empty, unused and unheated. Even if I don't take any profit from owning it, just hold for a rainy day.

My bitcoin doesn't tax me like that.
620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin is centralized, will other cryptocurrencys survive ?. on: September 05, 2023, 06:41:08 PM
Why waste time thinking about something that cannot happen?

How would you centralize bitcoin? You'd have to for instance centralize all mining, making it free to mine in your country, but free power for mining wouldn't mean that you'd control miners. You'd simply make them mine at your location, but the hardware and profits would belong to them, otherwise nobody would go there.

Everything is governed by basic math and market laws. You cannot centralize bitcoin without spending billions of dollars in the process, and even that doesn't guarantee success, but you can be sure that your investment will drive the price to new highs.
