621  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: nothing is getting confirmed on: March 03, 2016, 03:36:31 PM
ok I did that got it all back instantly
then resent $142 BTC to a guy
trans ID  5f085648578180c21c1ac7b4507c75a57111478e85cdee75d02372d4d237fd32
gave the BTC Fee $0.50 to make it (High Priority)
thought I was doing really well

but it's been nearly an hour and no confirmations
and when I look at the transaction it says
((Warning! this transaction is a double spend. You should be extremely careful when trusting any transactions to/from this sender))

what are they talking about ?
this is starting to really piss me off
whats it gona take to get this guy paid ?

first. blockchain.info have their own version of priority calculation. and it sucks so don't rely on it.

be patient. your tx shouldn't take any longer than 10 blocks to confirm (that's between 10 to 300 minutes.).

and yes they're treated as double spend because you broadcasted a tx with same inputs as this one. a node that doesn't have the old tx received new tx and relayed it to blockchain which treated the new tx as double spend because they still have the old tx in their mempool.

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/bitfinex/btcusd
it's called market activity... no use asking questions unless the price crashes or jumps by 20%. even then the answer you'll get are merely speculations.
623  Other / MultiBit / Re: Transaction rejected but coins not sent back to wallet on: March 03, 2016, 03:13:47 PM
what wallet are you using? and ask the receiver if they're the one doing the re-broadcasting.
624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 15btc transaction fee, big mistake on: March 03, 2016, 02:59:26 PM
looks like there's two more transactions that paid abnormal amount of fee recently. found this at reddit.
https://blockchain.info/tx/c6f9ae3d4e6c895594628a28a53e9c8436a8ba1aaf5f0dd1711ac2a3f4b893c6
https://blockchain.info/tx/15ccae9f8b2b4e554be12411b83624e8743244e95b7116447a7dde9a39fd2cbe

both have 4BTC fee. received by blockchain one minute apart. if it's the same guy then they lost 23.5BTC.
625  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: nothing is getting confirmed on: March 03, 2016, 12:36:07 AM
still nothing confirmed and nothing sent back to me

did you remove the tx from your core? if not then that may be why those tx has not returned to your wallet. core automatically re-broadcast your unconfirmed transaction so your transactions will never be returned to your wallet.

to delete unconfirmed txes from your wallet, do this.
626  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Deposit not confirming from CEX on: March 02, 2016, 11:25:06 PM
Sent .3104 to my electrum wallet that I've never used before. It's been 2 days and its not confirming. Can anyone help?
https://blockchain.info/tx/8e820987915527164e11e67b3f98ce932321fc8b782ede631030c5e74d9420dc

you can only wait for it to get confirmed or dropped from the mempool and returned to your wallet.
it have 169,411,911 priority which is very high. so it might get confirmed despite the low fee.
627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: I sent payment using funds from an unconfirmed transaction and now I'm stuck! on: March 02, 2016, 08:29:23 PM
stick to one thread, please. if your tx gets dropped again it'll be returned to the sender for good. that is unless the sender is continuously rebroadcasting it. this happens automatically with core so if the sender is using core ask him to delete the unconfirmed tx.
628  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Help- 2 Unconfirmed transactions on: March 02, 2016, 07:19:33 PM
I have a problem too. This transaction was made more than 30 hours ago.. For how long I should wait? I don't have a clue..
https://btc.blockr.io/tx/info/b24b530fba4884d8ed14cc6c976e277793b08b2f19d86f281c05abde5ae939d0

We cant tell you how long it will take, but the fee it paid is pretty low with 12 satoshi per byte. Core currently suggests 18 satoshi per byte for a 25 block (or longer) waiting time and 44 sat/byte for the next block.
sorry , but nope... you're wrong. : correct fees are : 60 satoshis/byte , just have a look here
-------------->   http://bitcoinfees.21.co/

that's the best fee needed to get a tx confirmed in the next block. 41~50 is good enough and can get the tx in the next block or two. 31~40 next 3-4 blocks, etc.

but then again paying 10 satoshi higher per byte shouldn't be to costly.
629  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Unconfirmed transactions on: March 02, 2016, 07:17:11 PM
yes, I currently have 3 transactions at nearly 2BTC not confirmed for nearly 20 hours now, It is announced on blockchain and legit.

2 are outgoing, 1 is incoming.

I have since sent a transaction with maximum fee and it still took 2 1/2 hours lol. so my wallet is still working.

Other than waiting, nothing else to do?

you can double spend the outgoing transactions if you have the required resources to do that successfully (which I'm still not clear what.).
or stop broadcasting them so that the btc will return to your wallet. you still need to wait though.

but I suspect you already know these.
630  Economy / Lending / Re: looking for partner or $15 loan on: March 02, 2016, 06:22:13 PM
what kind of "successful url shortener" owner needs $15 loan? what's the name of your site?
631  Other / Meta / Re: how can your account get hacked without them having acxess to your email? on: March 02, 2016, 06:17:26 PM

that one look okay now?

yeah. signature verified. now just PM Vod and ask him to remove his feedback.

oh. congratz on getting your account back.  Smiley
632  Other / Meta / Re: how can your account get hacked without them having acxess to your email? on: March 02, 2016, 06:09:23 PM
signature verified. but change that message to something more clear like "this is cryptohunter. today is xx-xx-xxxx and I have control of this account.".

that part about cryptohunter2 being inaccessible is odd though. but I'm not an admin so what do I know?

EDIT:
btw. you need to PM Vod with the link to your signed message.
633  Other / Meta / Re: how can your account get hacked without them having acxess to your email? on: March 02, 2016, 05:52:44 PM
will take some time 29 weeks reindexing Sad

As you can see when i was cryptohunter2  I was asking if there any solution to my issues with btc wallet. Everytime a power cut then BTC wallet seems to get very upset and needs to reindex entire thing all over again.

I think this is soon going to destroy my ssd drive again.

you should be able to sign a message even while you're out of sync. if you can't then safe the private key so that you can import them to some other wallet.
or just post here using cryptohunter2 account. that should clear things up.
634  Other / Meta / Re: how can your account get hacked without them having acxess to your email? on: March 02, 2016, 05:32:00 PM
Ha yeah I thought I'd been double hacked and cryptohunter2 was gone now because it kept saying wrong password when i try to reply.

Then i press reset with email and logged in and i turned back to the real cryptohunter Smiley

Sadly I must say goodbye to cryptohunter2 it was a short lived but stressful existence on bct but better than not being here at all.

Excellent. I can go celebrate my legendary upgrade at last.

Thanks for your help with this to you and lauda especially but also to anyone that tried to help me out. Thanks guys SmileySmiley

care to prove it by signing a message from the address on the first post page? it'll get your neg off.

How often can you change your password?

you can change your pass as many time as you like. just don't abuse it.
635  Other / Meta / Re: how can your account get hacked without them having acxess to your email? on: March 02, 2016, 05:22:02 PM
I put the fake information on the thread because I didn't know if this information should be seen by the public?

yeah that's what I think. but what are you doing here? aren't you supposed to be hacked?  Tongue
or did the real owner get his account back?

Today at 05:19:01 PM - cryptohunter - password reset via email
fast.
636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 3 days of unconfirmed transactions - any help is much appreciated! on: March 02, 2016, 05:05:37 PM
But in spite of the higher fee, this is unconfirmed too. My newbie guess is that because these transactions are all tied together, the first transactions have to be cleared before the last one clears.

you are correct. a tx that spends an input from an unconfirmed tx will have to wait for that tx to confirm first.

Quote
It's just a case of establishing if i'm in any serious trouble of losing bitcoins (my impression is that the worst that can happen is that they are stuck in limbo for a very long time or default back to my accounts).

again correct. but it shouldn't take more than 72 hours unless someone rebroadcasted the tx every time the mempool drops it.

Quote
Once I know that is all ok - what the hell do I do now?

you wait until those txes gets confirmed or dropped from the mempool.

Quote
Once I know that - how the hell to I stop this from happening again.

pay higher fee in your future transactions. to know what fee per byte is appropriate for the current situation, see this site.

EDIT:
oh, I see you're using bitcoin qt. qt automatically rebroadcast your unconfirmed transactions so if you want them to be dropped from the mempool (so that the btc will return to you.) you'll have to get rid of those unconfirmed transactions. read this post by shorena if you don't know how to do that.
637  Other / Meta / Re: how can your account get hacked without them having acxess to your email? on: March 02, 2016, 04:47:03 PM
@shorena
this one verifies.
also that email looks like a fake.

edit:
I'll just PM OP telling him to explain.
638  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: how to get back the bitcoins if I fail to send ? on: March 02, 2016, 04:24:39 PM
I can open the terminal now, but what is the full path of bitcoin-qt? thanks!

regards,
ST

where did you install it to? that's where it is. we can't tell you that lol. but try this -> /Library/Application Support/Bitcoin/
639  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Third day 0 confirmations HIGHEST PRIORITY!!! on: March 02, 2016, 03:01:15 PM
not highest priority. blockchain.info treats 0 priority as Medium Priority.
anyway that tx should get dropped from the mempool soon as long as there's no one rebroadcasting it. if you're the one who sent that then this may be a good thing because you'll be able to send the btc again with higher fee.

It is not me  Tongue

Added: Wait. It will not send me bitcoins but just send back to sender? It is my grant for work!  Cry I need it! I will not get my bitcoins or what? They will be send back?

yes they will return to the sender's wallet if the mempool drops the tx. you can however keep reminding the network about your tx (so that it will not get dropped.) by rebroadcasting it again and again until it confirms (read this.).

if you can contact the sender and they are somewhat trusted then you can try persuading them to send a new tx with higher fee after this one gets dropped. keep in mind that the sender can scam you. so if they're not trusted don't do this.
