Those accusing bitpop of being malicious:

He's not. He is simply informing you all with perfectly accurate information. Hardware wallets are the next step in securing our coins, but they are certainly not bulletproof and (as with anything) should still be treated with care and without negligence.
622  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [BFL CHIPS] Group-Purchase :: 100 Chips ordered 6.16.2013 on: June 16, 2013, 08:20:56 PM
any assembly service will be searched/provided?

Yes, BFL has provided firmware for interfacing with the chips and some additional documentation.

I expect that by the time these chips are shipping I will have a board design in place and ready to go.

And here's a quote from BFL:
Quote
Advantages of BFL chips:

1/2 the power usage per GH as the closest competitor
1/10th the silicon area per GH as the closest competitor (Very high performance density)
You can use off the shelf heat sinks depending on your chip layout due to FCBGA package vs custom underside heat sinks as required on some QFN packages. You don't have to design and manufacture heat sinks!
Proven design currently operating in the field and ready to go.

You can't edit in the auction subforum to prevent people from retracting bids and sellers from changing the terms.

630  Bitcoin / Group buys / [BFL CHIPS] Group-Purchase :: 100 Chips ordered 6.16.2013 on: June 16, 2013, 07:56:29 AM
Chips remaining: 55

I've placed an order (#100066934) for 100 BFL Chips, and will be reselling them to those who want to purchase less than BFL's minimum order amount of 100.

Orders will be processed as they are received, in a first come first served queue. If more than 100 orders are placed here, I will purchase another batch of 100. The chips are scheduled to arrive no later than 100 days from the purchase date, which is September 24th.

The chips will hash at a minimum 4gh/s each. Please understand that you are not purchasing a ready-to-mine product here. The processors being sold will need to be incorporated into a host board before being used. If BFL does not deliver I shall not be held at fault.

The pricing structure is as follows:

1-4 Chips     5-9 Chips     10+ Chips
$80 each
Order here:

$75 each
Order here:

$65 each
Order here:

Shipping will be a flat $14.99 for the continental USA denominated in BTC to be billed at the time of shipping. International will be a case-by-case basis. Please factor in these costs when making your purchase.

Cheers,
Garrett

Indeed it is!

I'll raise a motion within a week polling whether we should buy chips or sell the codes.

Hi Ben,

The boards will be produced in a professional assembly house, by trained people who know exactly what they're doing. Because the assembly etc. is being outsourced the operation will be highly scalable, so there should be very little lead time to make chips into hashing miners (most likely under 1 week if you choose to overnight all the shipping). The $130 mentioned above will very likely be the final number, although you should not count on it yet. There is always the possibility that the board designs do not work and we have to go with a more costly board design (and that goes for all of these ASIC projects), although this is extremely unlikely. What I believe sets me apart from other services, is the increased likelihood of a fast turnaround. I will be producing boards for 10,000 chips before this group-buy order arrives, so I will be able to familiarize myself with the process and hopefully make a bunch of clients happy Smiley

Best,
Garrett

PS:
Due diligence pays tenfold.

I couldn't agree more!

There are two types of people that argue against trusted escrow... scammers and asshats.

If you're neither of those, you should have no problem making a transaction via escrow Smiley
