621  Economy / Economics / Re: High volatility and sudden crashes will kill bitcoin, unless... on: May 29, 2017, 02:15:16 AM
Hi Ev'rybody.
Last days we witnessed a 20% crash in bitcoin, not to sepak about other crypto, including ETH that had the most solid growth till then.
These anomalies, as good as they might be for day traders, does not speak well about the BTC as a reserve currency.

As I said before, there's a reason why paper money was pegged to gold prices and reserves. Because any currency needs a reference value if it is going to avoid those dramatic ups and downs. The euphemism of USDT is just out of question.

And even though I'm strongly against any regulation of BTC or any other crypto, I have to say, leaving it freely float poses dangers such those I said, plus manipulations of speculators who can, by their own operations, affect prices at will.

So, I will insist that crypto needs a value reference. And as I said in my other posts, the best reference value is ENERGY. The most pure asset in the universe.
And there's got to be a way to tie the value of bitcoin to Joules. There's already SOLARCOIN, but to be honest I'm not sure how that is working.

Future economy has to be energy-based.

Greets,

My opinion is that the threat is the effect of the btc to our economy and not the btc itself. It is how people would use or utilize the power of btc. Transaction cannot be easily hacked unless brute forced but it would takes millions of years so therefor it is untouchable and it is just the patronizers that reality is going beyond it's purpose. You also right that it needs to be energy based because it general it is generating a new era that can function without a barter trade or it is only a one sided trade.
622  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Transacting in Litecoin or Etherium? on: May 28, 2017, 02:13:07 PM
I'm doing the same thing with you,Obvious Ethereum would be better
Are you sure that you are getting more business just due to adopting Ethereum payments for your venture ? I am asking this because there will be no enough awareness on different altcoins among common people so they will be switching over to new payments system after finding bitcoin payments is relatively slow and expensive.

If is it really happening for the improvement of business, then we can go it without any hesitations. But I hope people will keep bitcoin payments also as another options.
You should accept both Bitcoin and Ethereum though Ethereum is not a coin but platform on which you can build contracts. Accept also Litecoin though it isn't as popular as was years ago.

A lot of important are now investing in Ethereum let alone btc that has countries investing in it. Ethereum recently has a high price increase rate so i think it is gaining a lot of attention and trust to some investors. altough i would agree that litecoin now is on a low profile but in terms also of increase rate it has a positive mark during the past days but not close enough to its highest peek.
623  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: what happened with https://www.livecoin.net on: May 28, 2017, 08:45:32 AM
In my perspective it's because a lot has made trade and they are probably maintaining balance due to that pump and dump from btc. It went high in a week so probably many had sold there btc and when it went down a lot of like these problems has started to sprung up. I don't know if this is true but this is what i can analyze base on the recent price increase in the marketcap. Maybe next week or in 2 days it might be fixed?
624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1 BTC = 250x fees then you will remain with 0 BTC on: May 28, 2017, 08:18:37 AM
Wonder how many realize this. Basically you are feeding the whales.

At this time PayPal fees are cheaper  Roll Eyes
You are not the only one who knows it, we all know it. But we know that, it will not last long, bitcoin is preparing segwit, they will upgrade with bigger block number, and the fee will certainly decrease many times. Do not worry too much about that, bitcoin is still good for us to use.

It would be a great help really if segwit is already implemented in the blockchain. Probably now i can handle 2 days delay as long as the transactions is successful but it think for other people they really would demand exactly what was in the page. And yeah this has already in project teams minds that they would risk this big amount but in exchange with great profit so i doubt if they are brave enough to risk it. Then we can also acknowledge there project.
625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: May 28, 2017, 07:15:30 AM
Warriors were lucky Kevin Durant was there to save them when they had mental meltdowns that would normally have cost them games.

Kevin Durant is the only reason I think warriors have a chance this year. If not for him, I think the cavaliers would definitely beat them again.
That's now what the majority believe, if you take a look at the sportsbook you can find a good betting odds for the cavaliers with is 3.2 currently at nitrogen. Now, if you love the cavaliers and you love to gamble, might as well take the line and bank it if they repeat, this is a good series.
that's good for cavs fans as they really can win this even the series will start at the comfort zone of gsw, looking on how it can be possible lebron
showed how hunger he is the last game between celtics if there's no pressure with bookies and if this game will be purely a game for glory i might say that it will be a fun match to watch just worried about game fixing though.

There also fans who think that these series is most intriguing finals ever in the nba mainly because of the three straight finals meeting and the craziest trades ever for both teams to create superteams. But analyst said that it is not as epic as the 80's and 90's matchups. Today's basketball is very soft and you a lot of common fouls are turning into hard fouls but back in the days it was bloodbatch and you can really see great teams doing physical efforts.
626  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin reduces unemployment on: May 28, 2017, 06:14:11 AM
I think in the presence of bitcoin will reduce unemployment, because searching for bitcoin also requires hard work and creativity, and competitiveness in bitcoin is also high almost similar to work in the real world

What is your opinion this time?

My opinion this time is that if something requires hard work as well as creativity and there is tough competition in the respective "labor" market, it can hardly diminish unemployment (at least, not in any noticeable degree). Further, almost all Bitcoin related jobs are either freelancing ones (which seem to be beyond the employed-unemployed dichotomy altogether) or rather what should be considered as side jobs like participating in signature campaigns here

The same basically pertains to trading, gambling and similar activities

Most people here starts in sig campaigns trading or investing and that requires time. If you're a person who wants direct high income in no time or you are in rush for money, you can easily be bored and just sign out with almost the same style job. Sometimes this kind of trade can be dull because we have to do everyday watch  over and over again. Most people who are already full time here also had there doubts during the early years and now i think they are doing fine with there earnings.

627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The first bitcoin bank! on: May 28, 2017, 05:50:41 AM
a bitcoin bank seems like an oxymoron to me. those two dont belong together at all.

i can't see why not, if a bank can offer insurance and good interests on deposit like they do on fiat, it will be only good for the average joe that don't want to hold their bitcoin in their computer and risking a ransomware or other shit

i believe bitcoin are good to increase adoption in the future, or accelerate the already one that is established

I think its ok as long they really can make any insightful interests or put any tax in it. With my current income in btc i can be satisfied with just e cash but maybe in the near future if i want to incash higher amounts then i bank can be really useful. But i think in my locality, people really are not interested in btc that even if there are proposal in banks to adapt btc, they wont entertain it because of the lacking in btc users.
628  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CrowdSale] NVO Decentralized Exchange | Multi Wallet 🌟🌟🌟 Escrows 🌟🌟🌟 on: May 27, 2017, 04:49:50 PM
I have my own QT wallet.
My apologies, but how to create my own BTC address in the wallet (to use for the dashboard in NVO)?
Do I create a BTC address in the Send tab or in the Receive tab - of the BTC QT wallet?
I know how to do it - just need to be sure which tab to use, as I don't use BTC much.
File -> Receiving addresses -> New (label is optional, but I suggest marking it as NVO because you need to know where your counterparty tokens are).

Don't forget to backup your wallet.dat. It is best to join the Slack team if you need direct assistance.

I was looking for these answer. Good thing i read instead of posting the same question. I am still lurking around the project and reading the white paper. It was less reading aftaer i read this. Thanks.
629  Economy / Economics / Re: If bitcoin price is $10.000, will fiat be worthless? on: May 27, 2017, 05:02:20 AM
Which fiat is the OP talking about? Since we don't have one acceptable global fiat currency it will be difficult for Bitcoin to render all fiats worthless even if it hits $100k per coin. I think conventional fiat will remain just as Bitcoin and the two will coexist.
I agree with you. Bitcoin and fiat would work together rather than make the other worthless which is good. Fiats will continue as it was today while Bitcoin would gain its momentum in usage especially in the global market I should say, more like as the main online currency to be used worldwide.
Bitcoin will bridge fiat into a faster transaction, we need a good payment system and it is a gift that bitcoin was invented.
It is not here to replace anything but to help fast track transactions and make it cheaper.
Yes that is what is bitcoin for, it will help the fiat to have a more efficient financial system and it will serve as a key for a faster financial transactions and also help the economy to grow more because if a government or country accept bitcoin and if they invested money then they can earn thru the volatility of the bitcoin which is the price is keep growing.

In my perspective also, the only use of fiat in btc is just to buy common goods do not directly accept bitcoin. Most establish right now prefers cash or atm's as they deem it is more trustworthy over the internet today. But i would presume in the near future, they would accept now btc and fiat would turn into investments and it will be lost in circulation thus igniting the use of btc as basic payments for commodities.
630  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: May 27, 2017, 04:43:01 AM
Congratulation to Cavs. Easy win for them and easy win for me xexe. Could bet on bigger handicap spread but -10 was perfectly good. And now, let the real show begin...

Who are you betting on for game 1? I'd say GSW, they're really rested.

It's an advantage for the GSW I will pick them too. They have enough rest after beating Spurs but I don't want to underestimate the beast from the Cavaliers they can adjust anytime. They are playing well for this season. It's hard to decide for the next games to come but for the first game, I will say GSW will get this.

Let's just hope there's no more 3-1 lead blowing this time.  Grin

Nope never gonna forget about that haha. Through the years they have developed and recruited sufice members for this moment. It's is finals and warriors acquired durant as one of there starter and cavs acquired a lot of strong bench players without a major change on there starting lineup. Both of them has good bench players and excellent starting lineup so i think we can say that these are battles of super teams because there entire team has no sloppers and all members are great in each roles.
631  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Market is going to dump on you at some point on: May 27, 2017, 04:10:50 AM
Everybody who is into the crypto exchange obviously knows its a risk which might pay off or not and the issue of dump or pump is something one cannot control and the moment it happens, most of us just move with the tide after all I am not the only one that will be affected no matter how  unlucky I am. But at the same time when we were making the money during pumps no one complains so it should just work both ways.

It's the exciting part of being into crypto also. Sometimes what was speculated most turned to be worst one and the one that no one bothered went on the increase on price. Everybody does know the risk but not everybody knows how to avoid risk and where the find risk that is worth risking of risk that goes to fail. It's not controllable but i think it can be managed by reading news and updates in coins.
632  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you buy Bitcoin now with hard cash? on: May 27, 2017, 02:53:12 AM
Would you buy Bitcoin now with hard cash since the price or value increases daily, or you just going to earn it through mining, faucets, social media and signature campaigns?

As for me i can't afford to buy Bitcoin now, With its current price here in our country it is very big for me. 0.2 Bitcoin is my salary every month from work so if i will buy Bitcoin at this price then i will be needing 5 months to be able to buy 1 whole Bitcoin. I will just try my luck in some gambling site that i have some coins left to increase my Bitcoin.

Well it's not you will buy a whole btc. you can buy fragments of it then once it has increase then sell it then buy again then sell it. This would only apply to people who really has an outside income other than btc. Not also really btc but i we read enough about some altcoins there are some of them that has high increase rate and trusts rate. So btc might be high but there are other altcoins that can boom in time.
633  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a good investment, but never a global currency on: May 24, 2017, 08:59:56 AM
Yuanwei: One of the seven writers of the book Bitcoin, has been holding btc for 4 years and never sell one bitcoin. He started to think bitcoin is actually anti-human and a zero-sum in 2016. Fixed amount will cause the 80/20 rule and the rich have no responsibility for the poor. So if Bitcoin becomes the world currency, it will inevitably lead to the polarization of wealth and cause social unrest.

http://news.8btc.com/bitcoiner-yuanwei-bitcoin-is-a-good-investment-but-not-a-global-currency

In my perspective first it will lower the worlds economy because most of the money returns and come in the web. And businesses would run out of workers because opportunity in btc is more easier. Bit by bit more and more businesses are investing in in btc and i think most money would go in the web and most oppurtunities now underlies in btc. And local goods wont have any rich business men to invest in them or fund them.
634  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your trading strategy? on: May 24, 2017, 05:53:57 AM
My main principles in trading are:
Do not show emotion
Do not be greedy
Do not regret the lost.
I try to enjoy the trade and not think about how to make money trading
Few points are acceptable, and few are confused. Do not be greedy this is 100% correct. If you become greedy, you will not have success in any business. Do not show emotion yes whatever happen you should control your emotion. But I have not understood one thing what fun you will get in this trading. What you will enjoy in trading. And we do trading to make money if we do not think means how it is possible.

Emotions? well in a ways also my strategy is be aware of the news the altcoin i am investing in. Just be in touch with each coins in the market and a lot of observing of each progress. Because as a trader you have to be patient and know the odds of why its price is either going down or going low. And keep in mind that trading takes time and there is no instant millionaire in this trade.
635  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: May 24, 2017, 04:54:08 AM
Money Line for the boston celtics is so tempting at 16x Odds while the spread is +15/-15. Will the boston make it even at 2-2 or will the cavs dominate this game?. James had a very low performance on game 3 but maybe james will dominate this again on this game. On the on other side GSW will a have a good rest now sweeping a round without a single loss. If the cavs win today the chance of having a GSW-CAVS series will be high but for now let's focus on the Cavs vs Boston match up.
under is whats i'm aiming right now mate its hard to say that handicap can be covered since cavs will really play it harder for boston and even the money line can be ruined by another surprise moves of cleaveland we already seen it last game 3 unexpected things happen even without thomas and today would be another gamble.

The cavaliers did not make it covering their spread but a great comeback by the cavaliers when they are down as much of 15 points. The Celtics play a good basketball on first half when all of their shots are falling. Lebron had 4 personal fouls in just 1st half alone but he managed well on the second half. I think the boston lose on the third quarter when all of their shots from the outside is not falling. On the other part, Kyrie just broke the defense of the celtics, he is the main man of the third quarter and one of the player that help the cavaliers overcome a 10 points deficit at the half.  Now, the game is 3-1 and maybe the cavaliers will finish it on the road but expect boston to play 48 minute basketball until the last seconds of the game.

This also proves that Cavs is really is dominating the eastern conference playoffs. And yeah the celtics remain unlucky with there outside shots. They banked I.T. for second straight time and i guess they was just lucky in that game 3 with a crucial winning shot. Also there is an speculations that james flopped the game just to achieve the first overall most scores in playoffs behind M.J. But i doubt he is even aware of that now.
636  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptos success will probably lead to a global financial system reset on: May 24, 2017, 04:18:09 AM
this success you are putting your whole topic on has not yet happened! not even in bitcoin.
for bitcoin you shouldn't look at the high price and how it has gone up fast. the adoption, although is big, it is not yet that big to even be considered in the real world when compared with other things.

for altcoins it is practically non existent. >95% of the altcoins are in fact shitcoins without any usefulness and are full of problems. the 5% remaining are too small and lack the adoption and still have a lot of problems. and on top of all that the whole altcoin market is in a big bubble and everyone knows that.

i also disagree with the second part about government intervention! they may do some stuff as prevention or slow down the adoption but they will all give in. you can see this clearly in Japan and even more clearly because of their change of heart in Russia.

There are also ties that banks are needed for cyrptocurrencies. For example if you gonna buy houses and you're gonna need a millions of amounts. Banks are needed to pay amount either by installment of in one buying, for me that would be the use of banks if crypto's are now recognize as currencies. Also if a government intervention occurs, economically they would tax it because obviously these are taxless but other countries already started it without tax so the issue on government is how can a government earn if there is no tax?
637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you convince people into you using Bitcoin? on: May 24, 2017, 03:27:32 AM
Just yell them they can earn and its not scam since you already experience how it works and how it can really changed life. Let them join bitcointalk for them to see how many people been using it and asprie in bitcoin.
just tell them that they will havce an extra income when they are willing and determined to invest and be part of us, they will provide their family needs, they can even buy good for their families and they can even buy their neccesities without the help of their parents . you are a big proof for them to believe you must be true to them.

Or you can show them your earnings then you can show them your wallet and how it is converted and if they are now curious, tell them how they earn. Because these days how much is more intriguing than how you are getting it or what your job is. Other people are amazed with people who has big incomes but less works, other also prefer a low income as long as you love what you do. For me i am on the first one.
638  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Investment in cryptocurrency on: May 23, 2017, 04:03:18 PM
Hello fellow traders! Wink
It happened that I have a large sum of money (about 50k$) which I am planning to invest into a promising cryptocurrency. I have time to wait, I just need its cost to grow at a good rate. I was thinking about investing into Emercoin, as I  have studied them and found that its cost has grown substantially since its launch and there is a number of projects that they are working on, that would increase the price further.
Could you give me your opinion, and if its negative, give me a hint on what better currency I should invest my funds in.
Thanks!

There a lot of promising coins so it is good that you read what you are foreseeing. But for i would suggest dogecoin for a long time investment, i am not affiliated with them but i am just an observer. I noticed it has not increased but it is one of the oldest and still trusted altcoins out there. But you gotta really wait for a long time as it's fame has faded or even yet to become familiar. Ethereum also is the current bloomer and there is still time to invest as it is increasing in high rates.
639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Define Altcoin Success on: May 23, 2017, 02:10:37 PM

The success of a global corporation doesn't come from the amount of money the day traders can make in a day, or from being the first to have a red button instead of a blue button on something the average Joe will never use. Set aside all anti-establishment views, and let me know what you think an altcoin project needs to achieve in order to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange (just dreaming for now - lol)? In other words, define true long-term altcoin success.

For me i guess is that an altcoin's success can be determined on how long it has stayed and how the team can maintain trust of there investors or by the crowd. Certain projects to spend a lot and it takes a long for it to be acknowledged and offcourse a long time to actually gain profit. These days it's hard to invest in new coins withour any proof or even news of who are people involved in it and what the projects is all about.
640  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin as a new World Central Bank on: May 23, 2017, 12:44:11 PM
While people invest in alts and tokens, many treats BTC as 'stable' investment. For example, many ICOs make ESCROW in 40% BTC and then other coins.

Do you think BTC unwittingly took the role of the central bank in relation to other coins (detail, consumer 'banks')?

not really!
the fact that a lot of ICOs are using bitcoin as the payment only shows that bitcoin is the currency they are looking for.
and don't forget that these ICOs are being created to scam people. and that means they need a lot of newbies for that, and these newbies won't have anything other than bitcoin in their pocket to invest in the ICO so they take the most popular way!

Well i think it is. Technically we store our money there and banks now has no use if we do that. Most transactions dont need banks, investments dont go in banks and you can wait in time for until price increases. It may not be directly that it can be recognized as a bank but the fact that we can have big transaction without using a bank marks the purpose or concept on how a bank workds in the physical world. Btc can be the bank of the internet.
