I'm just trying to put myself in your shoes to better understand your line of thinking.

Lets say there rampant lying about temperatures.  I don't understand how that changes the big picture unless you throw out all of the basic concepts like

-combustion produces carbon dioxide which is released into the atmosphere
-the amount of carbon dioxide emissions can be estimated based on fuel burned
-carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas (it traps infrared radiation)
-deforestation decreases carbon dioxide consumption

In theory, doing all of those things should warm the planet, melt ice, acidify the oceans, and change climate.  Without any data on temperature, one should still be able to acknowledge the effects these activities cause.  Humans lying can't change the processes or the qualitative evidence we have that they are occurring.

The temperature thing is really complicated though, because the warming sets off a series of events that compensate for warming.  When you melt ice, heat is absorbed but temperature does not rise because all of the energy goes into phase change.  Also, water has a very high heat capacity.

When ocean currents change due to changing ocean salinity, some places that rely on warm water currents become much colder.  This is why we say climate change and not just warming but also negates some of the warming once you factor it into global averages.

Its as if you think the totality of climate change evidence is based on temperature data.

You can do all the mental gymnastics you like, but this doesn't make your dogma any more based in fact. You have no hard evidence of anthropogenic climate change. All you have are theories, estimates, and simulations.

Is there evidence the Earths climate is changing? Sure, some of it seems reliable. The problem is with science you have to eliminate as many variables as possible in order to create a control. There is no control to compare to here. You have no way of proving your theory when there is far more evidence this is a result of sun cycles than human activity.

Car fires/explosions are incredibly uncommon. I'd be willing to bet that cars full of gasoline are safer than a vehicle with a 10,000 PSI tank of nitrogen, let alone hydrogen. ....
I'm sure you are familiar with Burt Rutan's Spaceship One concept and vehicles. During testing of the nitrous oxide rocket motor, there was a mishap. That was a hybrid motor, with the nitrous oxide as the oxidizer and plastic as the fuel. The plastic simply lined the sides of the combustion chamber. This is considered a far safer motor than either a solid propellant motor or a bipropellant motor.

There was a mishap. The N2O tank had a weak point, and it disintegrated. The internal force of the pressurized contents threw the pieces out, literally with the force of an explosion. Three engineers were killed 800 yards distant.

That was pretty much the exact type of tank that would be required for h2 storage in a car. The talk about those tanks being safe has to be taken with more than a grain of salt.

That is a very good point. Looking at this from an insurance perspective, I wouldn't touch it with a 100ft pole. Liquid fuel cars at least are pretty much only a danger to the driver and at most someone they impact. Pressurized gas fuel tanks are also a danger to however many bystanders and first responders that may be even great distances away. That is a liability nightmare.

I dont understand getting caught up on how temperature data has been presented.  Do you disagree that higher concentration of CO2 leads to increased temperatures?  We know pretty precisely how much CO2 we are releasing because its basic chemistry from the mass of carbon fuel we burn.

Yeah why get caught up in the science part right? None of your points provide any evidence of anthropogenic climate change, even if they were fact.
6265  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Karl Marx: Past, Present and Future on: November 18, 2018, 04:13:51 AM
equal power does not mean "everyone is exactly the same".  It means everyone has equal say in how things work.  No one owns anyone else.  No one has dominion over anyone else.  Think democracy.

No one has dominion over any one else... lol good luck. That sounds a lot like equality of outcome to me.

"Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote"

A pure Democracy is where individual rights are sacrificed at the altar of mob rule.

I am very disappointed in you because I typed up all of those real-world examples and clarifications only for you to disregard all of them and resort to name-calling.  You didn't even communicate what you had a problem with other than semantics.  You're really going to call someone names over a semantic disagreement?

Why would any of this fit my bias? I grew up in the most capitalist country with capitalist parents and have inherited rental property.  I am an academic, a scientist who seeks to find examples of solutions to the world's social, economic and environmental problems.   I've noticed patterns in my studies and formed my opinions from those.

Because you don't offer reality. All you offer is theories and desires, yet you offer ZERO information regarding HOW you claim we can get there. Also all of your arguments require we just simply ignore the endless history of failures of your ideology and the millions of lives it costs to try it over and over and over again. Socialism INEVITABLY results in a totalitarian state. How am I supposed to argue against a fantasy?

If you read a little about the reasons for the dismissal of the founder of WhatsApp, you will understand that your personal data doesn't mean a thing for Facebook.
So I think we will hear such stories again and again....

And thus arose Telegram...
Nah, not even close pal. But I know you don't care.
Until a certain time, everything looked like Durov was ready to sacrifice large markets for his convictions. Now it looks like the situation has changed, but Telegram isn't tipping off user data here and there.

Sweet... sweet summer child... You don't get it. The instant you put your information in the hands of a 3rd party it is not yours or private any more. End of story.

I didn't defend the article, I defended the facts. If any of the statements I made were not factual, please do enlighten me.

Then don't quote me when we are talking about the article that badecker posted because thats the debate, mate, maybe you should learn how to read. His point was that because they did not file some reports they have been lying for 30 years which is simply not true as shown above. He keeps saying there are no safety reports/tests which is again simply not true.

https://www.skepticalraptor.com/skepticalraptorblog.php/del-bigtree-vaccine-safety-complaints-hhs-responds/

I don't know what your point is. Yes they did NOT file the required reports of the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986 but they have done all the required work to make sure vaccines are safe.

But you clearly were not just referring to the article, you were also referring to the ruling that the government has been in violation of reporting laws FOR YEARS. Sorry, if you don't like me pointing out your disingenuous arguments, don't make them.

''reporting laws FOR YEARS'' Of specific reports. If they filed 100 reports but 2 of them weren't filed, would that mean they are faking the whole thing? Shit happens, the lawsuit was settled, wasn't it? Just because they didn't file those reports, it doesn't mean they didn't take cafe of the safety of the vaccines. Pointing out they didn't file those specific reports accomplishes nothing, what's the conclusion from that?

I don't know, did you actually even bother to read it? I did. The lawsuit was only settled because it was a FOIA request, and the documents they requested, which were required to be filed by law, were never filed. As a result it was impossible to comply with the FISA request, resulting in the "settled" status. The conclusion is the government is not following the law. None of your other extremist red herring arguments matter, because I never made those arguments.

''This means that the US Department of Health and Human Services and all vaccine makers have been lying to the American people for over 30 years about the effectiveness and safety of vaccines'' That's what his shitty ass article says, it's simply not true, it doesn't mean they were lying and it doesn't matter that it was required by law, shit happens, don't you think? It wasn't proved that it was systematically breaking the law, it wasn't proved that they hid or destroyed the reports.

This also doesn't mean they were lying for 30 years because we have thousands of other safety reports.

I didn't defend the article, I defended the facts. If any of the statements I made were not factual, please do enlighten me.

Crypto world difficult for adults to comprehend how much more kids! well they may be able to do better because they have no responsibilities like the adults. But sincerely crypto is hard work and I dont recommend it for children below 18 years

You underestimate "children". I think a lot of children over 10 or so probably are capable of understanding cryptocurrency better than a lot of adults. Much like children are more capable of learning new languages than adults, I think it is a wise move to prepare them for this future, and they are more than capable.

I think there may also be a market for cryptocurrencies regarding communication and identification regarding their children's safety. Safeguarding personal information is a simple example.

6274  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you think Doctors lie? on: November 17, 2018, 09:04:55 PM
Here is a simpler question...

Are doctors human? Yes? Do humans lie? Yes. There is your answer. However that doesn't mean his advice is bad... smoking isn't good for you, and just because he is also addicted doesn't mean his advice is invalid. I would suggest you try to improve your health in the ways he suggested as much as you can manage without living in misery. I would make the goal to be constantly improving in that area rather than just meeting all of his instructions to the letter. If it is absolutely critical you do something they will make it clear. His job is to tell you how to get healthy, its not his job to tell you how to control yourself.

If they are really busy talking how can they listen to anything?

Usually they will watch things I source just so they can argue against it so... either they started too and their brain hurt too much thinking or they couldn't find anything to argue against.

I just found out last night, they apparently never even revoked Acostas "soft pass" which is what admits him to the press areas. They revoked his "hard pass" which essentially allows him to walk The White House grounds. Effectively this is just Accosta throwing a shitfit over nothing. He never even had his access as a reporter revoked.
6277  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Vaccinated vs. Unvaccinated: Guess who is Sicker? on: November 17, 2018, 08:43:31 PM

Again with the same shit? Do you have alzheimers, the US never lost that lawsuit, I already told you that once... are you ok?
https://vaxopedia.org/2018/07/22/did-the-us-government-lose-a-landmark-vaccine-lawsuit/

Please, go to a doctor and get your memory checked.

Get yourself new reading glasses. Your link agrees with the things said in the case won against government. What are those things? Basically three of them:
1. No test reports shown;
2. Under reporting as required by law;
3. A bunch of blabber to cover up this fact.

The point isn't really the winning of the law suit. Rather, it is the safety. So far, we are still in the dark regarding actual safety reports... the reports including the tests being done, and how they confirmed safety.

On top of that, there are warnings on the "bottle" about how unsafe vaccines and other medicine can be, and these reports are even listed on government websites. Simply Google "government site showing side effects of medicine" to see thousands of them (some not government).

When you Google "government site showing medicine safety" do any of the sites show safe test reports?... not just some blabber that suggests that the tests were done and showed safety... but the actual test reports that show how the test was done and the various actual results from the test?

For something as important as this, we aren't finding any actual test reports that show safety.

Cool

1. No specific tests of some specific reports. However you can see and check all the other thousands of safety reports, linked in the same website I posted.

2. The case was settled by law, in no way it means vaccines aren't tested  Grin Grin not even close lmao.

3. A bunch of bullshit by anti-vaxxers to push their agenda because the US settled a vaccine case once, ignoring the hundreds of thousands of other safety reports.

You are once again drifting from facts you know to be true. This wasn't "a vaccine case once", this was the government not following its own reporting requirements, as required by law. This is not an injury suit, this is an issue of systematic breaking of the law regarding safety reporting. Keep your arguments intellectually honest or I will again return to whup your ass with facts, and I am a way better at debating than these guys.

6279  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 2018 USA Mid Terms! Red or Blue Waves?!? on: November 17, 2018, 07:56:25 PM
The thousands and thousands of ballots they just keep "finding" are perfectly legitimate though.

https://www.sltrib.com/news/politics/2018/11/16/mia-love-takes-lead-first/

Quote
Two-term Republican Rep. Mia Love, R-Utah, is winning the 4th Congressional District for the first time since Election Day after an updated vote count in Utah County pushed her narrowly over Democratic challenger and Salt Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams.

Love is currently ahead by 419 votes, reversing Thursday’s 1,002-vote lead for McAdams, who has spent the past week in Washington going to House orientation meetings and appearing in the freshman class photo with new lawmakers from across the country.

I'd like our resident conspiracy-theorists to explain this one. Are these votes they keep "finding" 10 days after the election still legitimate or not?

I don't know, was it a recount or were the ballots just "found". I don't see a single mention of thousands mysterious ballots being "found" in this case. If there are any reports of that I would love to hear it.

Post modernism. The idea is to constantly question everything until the very foundations of what holds our society together are no longer even considered a collective reality. It is right out of Critical Theory & The Frankfort School. The goal is to destroy society as we know it to pave the way for Marxism, Socialism, then Communism.
