Well if you think about it, I have always seen on polo and bittrex that BCN deposits/withdraws are always unavailable... Never have I seen Monero to be unavailable.
^^ It is now, unfortunately Anyone know the reason for this on Polo: "XMR is currently under maintenance or experiencing wallet/network issues. Deposits and withdrawals will remain disabled until a solution is found, which may require an update from the XMR team. Any updates must be tested and audited before enabling." If anyone knows anything please post, let us know ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) The notification is currently not displayed anymore. Thus, it seems like their wallet is up and running again.

Can anyone explain how to do mining for XMR?
I am not new to the industry just to mine coins...people always told me it wasn't worth it unless you can get free or cheap electricity.
My friend is going to China and it may be worth investing a bit especially since the coin seems going up
also what is the easiest way to cash out funds?
I heard of cards cryptopay but none offer anything to the US.

Hi,
Sorry i don't know where i can post this:
When i open mymonero.com it says:
"Your account is catching up, your details may be out-of-date until it is finished (47 blocks behind) This is not an error, and you do not have to do anything except wait until it is complete."
What's going on? Do i have to do anything? Usually is faster ...
No, just be patient and it'll eventually catch up.

I am running CLI wallet on linux. ###### REORGANIZE on height: 1386074 of 1386074 with cum_difficulty
What does this mean? That's just an orphaned block, nothing to worry about.

I use Daemon address: node.xmrbackb.one 18081 but I can not connect. I get the following error: Daemon Failed to Start - Please check your wallet and daemon log for errors. You can also try to start monerod.exe manually. Where am I wrong? Thanks!
p.s. I using monero-gui-0.10.3.1-beta2, Windows 10 x64
As far as I can see, that remote node is currently offline. Try to use node.moneroworld.com with port 18089.

Monero Blockchain is now 26,4 Gb.
Block time is two minutes. The block size is at the moment about 0,35Mb. If remains this level for one year, there will be 30*24*365*0,35Mb = 91980Mb = 91,98Gb more after one year.
And the blockchain size will be 26,4Gb + 91,98Gb = 118,38Gb
Well this sure fits in one SSD. But in future there will be problems. There was some solution found to decrease block size to 1/4. There was something few pages back? I guess in this thread? Could someone find it for me? Monero Team should start implement it.
In the future there will be range proof optimizations, which should cut the size of a transaction by roughly 50%. In addition, pruning will most likely be an option in the future too. I synced my CLI wallet. I am running Ubuntu on fast SSD. First 1.100.000 blocks came in about 10 hours. Last 280.000 took about 72 hours. Is there any way to speed it up. Internet connection seemed not to be the problem.
Anyway thanks for the Team for great job! Now we enjoy the success.
Please try this to speed up the sync: https://monero.stackexchange.com/questions/4462/my-blockchain-is-stuck-how-do-i-unstuck-itIn addition, the upcoming release will include some syncing optimizations, which should, ceterus paribus, improve the sync speed.

Hey guys I have some problems with the node that I am trying to set up.
Last week I made my monerod synchronized with the blockchain. Today, I am almost done but now it seems to stop at some point and doesn't want to synchronize anymore.
For example I have the following messages with no more progress:
Sync data returned a new top block candidate: 1384892 -> 1385053 [Your node is 161 blocks (0 days) behind]
Sync data returned a new top block candidate: 1384892 -> 1385054 [Your node is 162 blocks (0 days) behind]
Sync data returned a new top block candidate: 1384892 -> 1385055 [Your node is 163 blocks (0 days) behind]
Why is that?

Hey people i got a problem with my wallet (monero-gui-0.10.3.1-beta2). Im trying to sync up but it doesnt work. It says "synchronizing" but the blocks are getting more instead of less.
I also tried to run "monerod" via terminal but there it also says "synchronization started" but nothing happens (blocks are getting more).
Thats the status: "1382339/1382827 (99.9%) on mainnet, not mining, net hash 141.37 MH/s, v5, up to date, 7(out)+0(in) connections, uptime 0d 1h 33m 17s"
Any ideas? Im on linux mint and had no such problems before.
Could you try to follow this guide please? https://monero.stackexchange.com/questions/4462/my-blockchain-is-stuck-how-do-i-unstuck-it

Nobody is discussing the dev meeting notes from today? Tim Ruffing has offered suggestions on improving Monero by using sublinear ring signatures + CT. Knacc is going through the information and writing a Java implementation. RuffCT GREATLY expands the ring signature sizes (100k+). "with a set-up like this, there should be no good reason to not simply sign every transaction with the top half of the blockchain every time" <surae> "in a certain sense, this is like an alien came down and gifted us faster than light travel." Do you guys understand what this means? ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) I am bullish, very bullish. The author has clarified some stuff here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/6uxx90/20170820_monero_dev_meeting_summary_and_logs/dlwbky9/Dev logs: https://monerobase.com/wiki/DevMeeting_2017-08-20
