Moeda digital ainda precisa ser lapidada para diminuir riscos
A grande ousadia do bitcoin é existir sem que se faça necessário o apadrinhamento de uma sólida instituição financeira. É uma inovação que é a cara da internet: aberta, sem censura e sem controle centralizado.
O fato de não ser necessária a intermediação de uma grande instituição (bancária) faz com que o custo de transacionar seja baixo, tornando viável o uso em compras de baixo valor.
Caso tenha sucesso, a nova moeda virtual deve ajudar a disseminar o comércio eletrônico de muitos serviços de baixo valor unitário, mas de grande interesse para os consumidores em geral.
Num primeiro momento, pode parecer estranho para os consumidores confiar numa nova moeda perdida no meio da rede. A sensação de insegurança pode ser grande nas primeiras utilizações.
Mas essa sensação é experimentada sempre que alguém tenta usar coisas muito diferentes do usual. Quem não sentiu um "frio na barriga" na primeira vez que acessou a sua conta bancária pela internet? E a primeira vez em que o cartão de crédito foi usado numa compra virtual?
Mesmo coisas "usuais" têm seus riscos. Usar o bom e velho papel-moeda para fazer pagamentos não está livre de surpresas desagradáveis: pode-se receber notas falsas, ser assaltado ou perder o dinheiro. O já familiar cartão de crédito também tem seus percalços: esquecimento e cancelamento de senhas, maquinetas que não funcionam, sistemas inoperantes.
A questão é que as pessoas já estão acostumadas com esses problemas e os consideram "naturalmente" como riscos calculados de utilizar meios de pagamento.
Há a necessidade de ajustar a solução tecnológica que apoia essa moeda eletrônica, ainda sujeita a vulnerabilidades de ataques de hackers.
Mas vale lembrar que não é preciso reduzir o risco a zero: se for baixo, as pessoas o aceitam. Vamos aguardar a evolução do bitcoin. O ser humano tem um sexto sentido para coisas boas e simples de serem usadas.

They dont need to ship three packages to test if DHL can deliver them, dhl can deliver anything, its not about routes, where are the other people who got tracking numbers? whic one of your units went out not going through Hong Kong?
They just needed more screws securing each module and better packaging, for that one box is enough.
Their shipping 'channels' are a little unorthodox. This is China we're talking about and those machines are classed as contraband - bribes must be given.... unless you want to pay the real amount for shipping/taxes/import duties??? I apologize if this hit you, I agreed 100%! 20 Shipments is a better test. I myself have 3 units order, split between 3 different people. But as you confirmed, in your shipment they used three boxes right? Others got 3 machines in the same day too, all could get one and wait the other two and still be happy. But now you guys with unbeliavable hashing power are squeezing the bitcoins from people without a single one. The purpose of it all was supposed to protect the network and right now there are less people 'protecting the network' just because a "random" pick was made, I dont remeber paying a lottery ticket here. I don't think you understand my remark. If I would need to test a new shipment route for 600 orders of various size, I would do 20 shipments of various size and that's exactly what they did. You have misread that. You're not the first to think this either. Watch his speech from the bitcoin conference this year... Should clear things up on the matter. Hint: they chose the latter option... vs. raise the price and sell units trying to get the money earlier to counterbalance the delay we have had. are you sure? why would they perform tests outside laboratory and until it gets full of dust and full of damage? |

batch 2# is not reach yet. How about batch 3#? waiting waiting waiting till ngzhang make enough BTC  They have said they do not mine with the units. They do. As a B#2 customer I just received this email update - my first email ever since the original order confirmation:
Batch one have mostly finished shipping, aside from a small number of orders with incomplete/wrong address or phone numbers. We've been getting these orders back from our shipper and getting in touch with people to update their information, this is a fairly quick process. If you have not gotten your order, especially people in Germany or Iceland that uses special characters in their addresses. I highly suggest you open a ticket with our support indicating your order number, full address with phone numbers, so if there is a problem we can pull up new information quickly and let shipping proceed. This also applies to batch two customers, please make sure your phone number is correct, and there is no typo in the address.
Speaking of batch two, we are unfortunately going to be late. This should not be too surprising as the delay from batch one will no doubt carry over. This delay also caused us to make drastic adjustments to our project timeline dealing with anything with a lead time like parts purchasing. We plan to start shipping majority of batch two orders starting on 15th of April. Not all the news is bad news however, originally around this period we are suppose to take this time to organize, make some changes and install a brand new SMT line in our facility. This upgrade will effectively double our production capacity, it enable us to put Avalon into the hands of our customer even faster. The new line is currently scheduled to come online during the last week of April. We expect batch two and three to ship much faster than batch one mainly there is no Chinese New Year and we have overcome the problems encountered in shipping batch one.
On to batch three, we at Avalon did not even wish to sell another batch. If you recall, our original plan was to produce only one batch, sell chips to thwart the centralization of mining, but due to the lackluster performance of our competitors we are here today as the exact centralization we tried to decouple. In addition, this delay is eating into our timeline for this project's future goals and various other projects. To be frank: it was a simple decision of build a mining farm ourselves and mine for a month or so to get the funding for things like the SMT line and next generation development vs. raise the price and sell units trying to get the money earlier to counterbalance the delay we have had. So, we came up with some terms and left the choice to the community.

First, I am one of the lucky ones to receive my 2nd/3rd February order. Afaik, Avalon said they would do a 20 order trial shipment and I am one of them. I saw some mention they are now also shipping the remainder of that part of batch 2.
So afaik those first 20 shipments are to test their new way of shipment and are not related to moment of payment or moment of order...
(Yes, I know I use afaik a lot, but only Avalon knows for sure...)
At this point I'm more concerned by the fact that my order isn't listed on their site and they do not even recognize my existence. If that is a test , why ship 3 units to same guy? 20 costumers getting the machines would be a better test. |

No caixa eletrônico, o saldo não esta "nele"... agora se pensarmos em carteira, que é a tradução de wallet, é natural pensar que o saldo se encontra na "mesma". Amigo se você não pode contribuir com um assunto, apenas se cale, é melhor para todos.

Minha analogia ainda permanece, pois o saldo do bitcoin nao fica na carteira e sim na blockchain. ou seja, a wallet nada mais do que um caixa eletronico com o campo senha ja preenchido. esse forum nao eh um help desk do bitcoin, muitos tem preguica de ler a wiki ou o proprio README do software. se vc levou a mal, soh existe um motivo, eh pq estudou pouco sobre o bitcoin e esta se deixando enganar pela "traducao" - sim, traducoes confusas causam confusoes - e assumindo erradamente conceitos basicos que devem ser esclarecidos antes mesmo de arriscar ter o primeiro bitcoin. boa sorte com tua grana. |

hey. why shipping cost to much? last time (2 weeks ago) I ordered 4x lancelot and cables from Hong Kong and it cost 34$ to central Europe via DHL express.
my city and zipcode are in OP. feel free to call EMS or Dhl and calculate yourself. note that HK is not China. I agree it is expensive, that is also the same reason Avalon ship every unit, although assembled in BJ if im right, through HK. I have a guess about your lancelots. you bought them from someone in shenzhen, which borders Hong kong. makes sense. |
