641  Economy / Economics / Re: 7 REASONS WHY: which one are you? on: May 20, 2018, 10:18:28 PM
I just noticed some questions about this topic so I listed some seven reasons why people want to have a cryptocurrency transaction rather than fiat.

1. INCOGNITO. this is the main reason why people use it. You cannot trace crypto transaction and its perfect from hiding.

2. CONVINIENCE. people nowadays are so lazy that they want to have transaction while seated comfortably on their home. With just one click , crypto can be transferred as payment to whatever they want. Well, who doesnt want that anyway.

3. TREND. basically, people want to try something new, something not ordinary , something innovative and if it was used by all their friends, they want to use it also.

4. ILLEGAL. yes, i dont want to include this but i saw many topics about this also. If you want to buy on black market or an illegal item, your transaction should not be traced as i said on our first reason so Crypto will help you hide on cops but not forever.

5. MODE OF PAYMENT. this is where some people buy an item usually using the profit they had on investing bitcoin even just holding. Ex. If you have 1btc and after a month it becomes 1.5 btc and you want to buy an item that cost 0.005btc and crypto is accepted as a mode of payment, you will use it ofcourse rather than fiat.

6. TECHY. it seems that techy people using cryptocurrency as a mode of payment see themselves as going with the flow of technology considering that bitcoin is the new technology of currency for the new generation.

7. SHOW OFF. whether we admit it or not, some people use cryptocurrency just to make their status up. Telling their friends about how wealthy they are and keep boasting for their ego.

This is what i noticed. So which one are you?
I would choose 1-2-6.
I think any geek would follow cryptocurrency, and anyone would like to use a new revolutionary mode of payment to feel unique from others.
642  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance! Attention! Be cautious! on: May 19, 2018, 08:58:04 PM
Binance users are receiving letters with an invitation to test a new application for Windows for a reward of 0.5 BTC, which 'will go to your Binance account. All you need to do is download and enter your data.

This is phishing! Attackers try to get personal data in this way, to access your money. Binance does not distribute 0.5 BTC for testing Windows applications. Be careful!
Yeah yeah...
It's sad that phishing still exists these days.Just simple common sense there isn't a campany who would give out 0.5BTC for just testing an application, only fools would fall on that but thanks for sharing common awareness.
643  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way to serve Country Economically. on: May 19, 2018, 08:42:08 PM
In your opinion, what are the best way to serve country economically?
In my opinion following ways should be considered.
1. Better and free education system where everyone can get better education to achieve his/her goals.
2. Proper usage of governments funds in urban and rural areas for infrastructure.
3. Building new industries and companies to create more employment opportunities.
4. Better and free health policy for everyone.
5. Better law and order satuation so that foreigner can be attracted to invest in your country and pay you taxes and give employment opportunities.
6. Raising high standard of living by reducing inflation.

7-Adopting blockchain technology and make students learn about how it works through education so they can implement it on campanies and offer solutions never seen before later when they will be working.
644  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One-time addresses or unique address. Which is better? on: May 18, 2018, 11:11:53 PM
Huh It's difficult to say which is better, so let's give a look over their differences and discuss, starting with OT addresses, like bitcoin, the idea is have a lot of addresses and use one in each transaction this addresses can be derivated from a HD wallet, in ethereum we have one address and that is used for everything since spend ether to tokens and deploy contracts. So what do you think?
Obviously one-time addresses are more privacy preserving and more secure.I think that's the biggest issue of ETH.
ETh is unique for it's smart contracts system anyways, not suitable for those who value their privacy though.
645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you recieve stolen bitcoins using a bitcoin mixer? on: May 18, 2018, 07:56:52 PM
Hi. For people that use bitcoin mixers to mix their bitcoins, is it possible that somebody may actaully end up with stolen bitcoins? So in this case, using a bitcoin mixer could be far worse. For example if these stolen bitcoins are being tracked, then is it possible legit users using a mixing service, could end up with stolen bitcoins? If so, is there any way to prevent this or to find out if you have received stolen coins?
I don't use bitcoin mixers but as far as I know mixers such as ChipMixer create their chips themselves (with their own funds before giving it to you) so I don't think you can end up with stolen bitcoins.
And even if you end up with stolen bitcoins using other mixers it would be really hard to track them when it lands on your hands.
646  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best country for crypto on: May 18, 2018, 07:12:10 PM
Then Switzerland made a revolution.  I knew Japan is the best country for crypto and even Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of bitcoin is from Japan too. In Japan, Bitcoin has owned ATM Booth if I am not wrong and many facilities have there. But now, Maybe Switzerland overcome Japan! Such a great news.
I'm sorry to interrupt you,but Satoshi Nakamoto is not from Japan. In fact we don't know and you can't just assume he is just from his name. Please respect his choice of staying anonymous.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah Switzerland is a good country to live in if you have a job there, otherwise it's hard to live there as living is expencive there Sad

648  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Good coins to buy now and hold for a long term? on: May 18, 2018, 06:41:25 PM

Wow thanks a lot for your comments!

I hold BTC and ETH since a year ago or so but never tried to hodl other coins before (except of fast trading).
Since I am using Cryptopia at the moment I got some CREA that is extremely low at the moment and I am sure it will go x5 when the team makes somthing to prevent mining farms. Algo got some ETN that I am going to hodl, very promising roadmap!

Where is the best exchange to get NANO?

Also, does any of you know any good Telegram channel/group for traders?
Nano is available in many popular exchanges like Binance, Kucoin, Bit-z and others.
I assume you already know these exchanges Smiley

PS:This is just an advice from me,please trade at your own risk,I'm not responsible of your trades.

Good luck Smiley

650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Good coins to buy now and hold for a long term? on: May 17, 2018, 09:36:17 PM
Hi, I have just registered to get some ideas about good coins to buy and hodl for a long term.
I don't want to invest in coins that are now in a bubble but coins with a real project behind with a promising future and of course increase of its price.
I also don't like to invest in ICO's.
I am watching some projects that have interesting platforms already launched in beta and still don't have much media attention, and still it is easy to get in direct touch with their teams and still are not on big exchanges.

Any tips?
I really like Nano/Raiblocks,it has a huge potential (Fast transactions, zero fees) it has already shown that it's price can blow in no time just see the charts it went from $0.01-$0.12 to 30$ (Only in 2017)
Furthermore it's current price is kinda low you might consider buying it if you like it

651  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin failed as a currency on: May 17, 2018, 08:54:28 PM
Bitcoin was supposed to be used as a currency, not only a form of investment. However, it's been more successful as a form of investment, a "speculative asset".

Do you guys think that this can change in the long term ?

Ofcourse this is going to change in the future, don't forget that it's still early days for Bitcoin and for all cryptocurrencies in general.Yes Bitcoin showed it's biggest limit in term of transacting but we can clearly see improvements/solutions made like Lightning network,Segwit.... As I always say,it's just the beginning,we have to give it some more time before seeing it as a strong currency and not only an asset.
652  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Seed for imported wallet on: May 17, 2018, 08:46:16 PM
Thank you guys for the clarification.
Just one more question if you please, what is exactly a bip39 wallet? I hear alot this word but can't really understand what it means nor what it adds to have a bip39 wallet.
653  Other / Meta / Re: How Secure is BitcoinTalk? on: May 17, 2018, 08:35:56 PM
This isn't a good example of me being a "rebel", since there's ~no legal risk in refusing to help police who don't have a court order, and there's even less risk when they're not even trying to enforce a law which exists in the forum's jurisdiction. Anyone in the US who would help foreign police with a Bitcoin ban is seriously misguided, at the very least.
What exactly is a bitcoin ban? I am probably assuming the ban from this forum? Also do explain your last point.
A Bitcoin ban means (In my case) that holding/transacting Bitcoin is illegal and could be punishable by law (fines and penalties) if caught.
654  Bitcoin / Electrum / Electrum Seed for imported wallet on: May 16, 2018, 10:28:30 PM
Hello guys,
I just wanted to ask why there isn't a seed given/created when you import a wallet using private keys? I imported my wallet with them and I did set a password but can't seem to find anything about a seed. Is that normal? If yes,is there a way to get a seed so that I have another way of backup of my funds?
Thank you in advance.
655  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Smartphone/blockchain devices on: May 16, 2018, 09:57:25 PM
Seems like they find a new role in the market, do you see space for it ?

https://www.androidauthority.com/htc-exodus-865928/amp/
Depends on how they are built.
To be honest I'm skeptical about it since it may not be something that everyone needs in his life and it should be also secure compared to normal crypto services,I guess only crypto fans would buy like this phone.(Ofcourse others will still opt for an iPhone or a Samsung  wish is unfortunate but that's just the beginning of the blockchain concept)
But yeah,it's a good start, atleast there is companies interested in blockchain technology.Let's see where it goes.
656  Economy / Economics / Re: Buffet, Munger and Gates Denounce Bitcoin on: May 16, 2018, 09:43:30 PM
Millionaires doesn't suffer from traditional banking system anyways.Certainly,Bitcoin in general has some downsides but they forget that Bitcoin is only 9 years old. They will say it's volatile but they forget that the market cap is low compared to fiat currency.
Give Bitcoin and cryptos some time before judging it,it's just the beginning after all.
657  Other / Meta / Re: How Secure is BitcoinTalk? on: May 16, 2018, 09:11:34 PM
Your mental model should always be that the forum logs everything, especially since it is behind Cloudflare, which is almost certainly an NSA-backed operation. But here is some more detail. Currently there are four classes of IP logs:
 - Every time your session refreshes (about every 10 minutes while you are browsing the site), your current IP is momentarily logged. This is only kept until a new such entry replaces it, except that whenever the daily database backup happens, the current value will be captured and then possibly kept for a long time.
 - A tuple (time, userID, ip) is logged whenever you view a forum ad in order to produce ad stats. These are kept for only a few weeks, and are not backed up.
 - Every HTTP request creates an access log, but while these contain IPs, they do not contain user IDs, and so on the whole they probably cannot be provably associated with users. These are usually deleted after a few months, and are not backed up.
 - Certain actions trigger a long-term IP log. This includes posts (but not PMs), security-log entries, certain errors, and registration. Long-term logs are currently kept indefinitely.

I don't like that IPs are sometimes kept indefinitely. To prevent abuse, it would probably be sufficient to keep them for ~6 months. But keeping these logs long-term is extremely useful for account recoveries. I've been thinking about this issue, and I think that in the future I might let users opt out of long-term IP logging if they have a public key registered in a (currently-not-existing) public-key-registration system. Though, again, even then you should model this site and all sites as keeping complete logs.

Unless I am somehow required to do so by law (though I can't see how in this case), I will not assist police who are seeking to enforce any Bitcoin ban.

If I put an image in a post in this thread, then I can get a list of the IPs of the people who have viewed the thread. Cross refer a few threads, and I can probably isolate your individual IP.

Try it and see how many IPs you get...
This is what I like about you. a true rebel.

Would you ban my country's IP from accessing this forum if there is a court order? I'm not talking about crime related bans, just a pure access to information? if so then how would you suggest to avoid this?

Not to mention that you supporting Bitcoin is equal to be a rebel where I come from.
-Thank you theymos for the clarification,I really appreciate that.
I also hope that you will implement the public-key-registration system in the near future as I'm sure alot of people living in countries banning crypto are also worried about tracks they leave behind them please don't forget us.I'm a bit more reassured atleast not all actions leave permanent IP record

-Correct me if I wrong but I don't think that Tor having nodes backed by the NSA would cause a lot of troube to users as a node can't directly link to your real IP unless all the nodes your tor client picked are backed by the NSA

Thanks.
659  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is worth buying coins under $1? on: May 15, 2018, 08:54:25 PM
What's your opinion on buying new emerging coins that are not yet on top and cost less than 1 dollar?
How do you decide whether they have potential to grow or not?
You can't really predict if the coin have potential but in my opinion it's wise to buy a few of current worthless coins as there is a chance to see them explode in the future (not all of them ofcourse),the main strategy is not to bet on 1 horse Wink

EDIT:I just want to state the exemple of Raiblocks/Nano that was only worth 0.01$ and exploded to 30$
660  Other / Meta / Re: How Secure is BitcoinTalk? on: May 15, 2018, 07:47:45 PM
I would strongly suggest the OP learn to conceal his true identity for all sites dealing with Crypto.  If you live in a place where you go to jail for using Crypto trust no website.  Theymos runs a decent place but the authorities can force owners/Admins to comply.  It has happened before here.  Going back a few years some PM's were required to be given and the users smart enough to have GPG'd their messages were fine, while others communicating in plain text had a harder time.  My point is not that Theymos is lacking in OPSec, but that YOU should maintain your own security.  If Theymos gave "THEM" absolutely everything his has on me they would have NOTHING.  Get it?  If I were going to make a site specific suggestion, I don't like the current sign in because the passwords are exposed (security wise).  In a perfect world we would have U2F and then I could change my now exposed password and associated email account to this username.
Yeah, that's what I learned from this, thanks. But as I said if IPs are recorded from the beginning it's too late now to conceal my identity.
Meh, what a feeling to live in a third party world..
Thanks everyone.
