6421  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BFGMiner 5.0.0: GBT+Stratum, RPC, Mac/Linux/Win64, BlackArrow Prospero, KnC Nep. on: November 29, 2014, 02:40:00 PM
I used : --cmd-dead shutdown-r-f .  Smiley
I think you want a few spaces in there...

I added spaces first time but I got an error saying something like "command -r not found" , I can't understand correctly as it is closing rapidly. Sad I don't know whether command without spaces will work... Huh

P.S. Added '> bfgminer.txt' at-last which made a log file. Log file:

Code:

 [2014-11-29 14:30:47] bfgminer: -r: unrecognized option

6422  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] NiceHash.com - sell & buy hash rate cloud mining service / multipool on: November 29, 2014, 01:35:56 PM
Westhash is misbehaving for some mins now but Nicehash seems okay. And, why does it show coinbase error many times? I am not experiencing this with multipool.us (I haven't tried with other pools yet). Extranonce is added. Smiley

What is unclear from the README descriptions?

I didn't understand round robin and load balance. Huh

They're commands for your OS - so usually useful for things like sending emails, SMS, etc.
BFGMiner will try to restart dead miners on its own by default, though... If the entire PC needs to be rebooted, *nix has a "reboot" command (I imagine Windows has some command to do it as well).

Thanks! I found it from stackoverflow.

  • shutdown -r  — restarts
  • shutdown -s  — shutsdown
  • shutdown -l  — logoff
  • shutdown -t xx  — where xx is number of seconds to wait till shutdown/restart/logoff
  • shutdown -i  — gives you a dialog box to fill in what function you want to use
  • shutdown -a  — aborts the previous shutdown command

Additional options:
  • -f — force the selected action

I used : --cmd-dead shutdown-r-f .  Smiley

Is there any details on the pool strategies? I want to select a suitable one but I can't understand it. An explanation would be helpful. Smiley

P.S. Bumping my question again. Smiley

Code:
--cmd-idle <arg>                Execute a command when a device is allowed to be idle (rest or wait)

--cmd-sick <arg>                Execute a command when a device is declared sick

--cmd-dead <arg>                Execute a command when a device is declared dead

What all arguments can I use? Any arguments to restart the dead miner?

6427  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: confirm transactions on: November 28, 2014, 10:11:27 PM
Hi,
I'm wondering if there is a way to confirm some unconfirmed transactions (small amounts without fee don't get confirmed and send back to my blockchain wallet). Someone told me Discusfish could do this. And just out of interest I also want to know if the opposite would be possible? making a transaction which will probably never get confirmed and stopped broadcasting?

You could do double spend but you can't assure that the transaction will will get confirmed. Mostly transactions higher than 0.01BTC will get confirmed within 6-10 blocks without a fee unless it is higher than 1000 bytes. If Discusfish create a redeem script or use older versions of Bitcoin-qt, there is a chance that it will get confirmed.

Please remember that many users are providing services here and created a second account for thei service. Example: User "abc123xyz" has for marketing / support purposes a second forum account "BitcoinCasino.me". So I think this rule will not change Wink

Exactly. I should have phrased it correctly. See the bolded line Smiley

IMO it should only be allowed to specific users but it is hard to stop users from using two accounts.

6429  Other / Meta / Re: Bitmos Public Ignore List - to save you time, energy, and suffering on: November 28, 2014, 07:07:56 PM
Bitmos makes some weird spam-like posts and if he's ignoring other uses and their responses in the process I'm more inclined to put him on the ignore list himself.
Here's mine: Bitmos

I think it is better to put the users Bitmos ignores and him too. "A troll knows another troll better than others"  ~~ <input your name here> Roll Eyes

No reason given, no examples. The more posts I read from you the more you look like a spammer troll to me.

Fixed. Seems like he's trying to hone his trolling "skills" (see personal text).

+10. Its time to put some awards like best troll of the month or something. Their work mustn't be wasted. Roll Eyes Wink

6430  Other / Meta / Re: Activity on: November 28, 2014, 06:53:15 PM
Ok. So to clarify:  Cheesy It is possible to get 140 activity points in 10 - two weeks periods (20 weeks), but there must be minimum one post in every two week period and sum of all posts must be 140 or more? yep?

Thanks for patience guys!!!  Grin

Correct. You can also collect it another way. Say if you made 140 posts in this two week period you could just make one post in each new period and you would then collect the full 14 points up to 140.

Thank you!

Is there any other possibility, to earn more activity points than 14 in two weeks?

I read that it is possible if a user saved on time. But I don't know what it actually means... Huh Cheesy

6431  Other / Meta / Re: Is it possible? on: November 28, 2014, 06:51:39 PM
Why don't you just use two accounts with one browser? Roll Eyes Normal and incognito. Wink

Of course. You could've just tried it   Cheesy. Oh, and if you're asking if it's allowed, the answer is also yes.

When will this rule change? Sad IMO it should only be allowed to specific users but it is hard to stop users from using two accounts. Even if it is hard, it shouldn't be allowed and some measures should be taken. Smiley

6432  Other / New forum software / Re: Auto Update Option on: November 28, 2014, 06:06:39 PM
Couldn't it be done the way Gmail does it? Kind of how it shows up a desktop notification when you receive an email.

It can be done with a websocket or an app might be needed to install to get the notification.

6434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin blockchain data torrent on: November 28, 2014, 02:07:46 PM
Hi, is anyone got a FRESH & CLEAN bootstrap.dat file around ?

Read the OP and download the torrent.

I came as far as block 317000. That's more that 13 weeks old tells bitcoin-qt..
Then I got stuck. I have 12 active connections to the network.
Is there a regularly, like every 24 hours, maintained version of bootstrap.dat out there?

So.. I am pretty sure I can take this upon me. Automate it and let it rip.
The only problem I see is the huge bandwidth capacity needed.

Answers or suggestions?

Please take the time to read OP. Smiley

 =snip=

How often will this torrent be updated?

Assuming this project is deemed useful and worth continuing... the torrent will be updated once every few months, when the checkpoints are updated in the reference client source code.

Why not update the torrent more often?

A torrent works best when it is a large, static dataset that changes infrequently.  That maximizes the ability to seed the data, enabling even part-timer seeders to contribute meaningfully.  Less frequent changes also minimizes the risk that a malicious torrent will appear, with a long, malicious side chain.  The current policy only updates the torrent after blocks are buried many thousands deep in the chain.

6435  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] NiceHash.com - sell & buy hash rate cloud mining service / multipool on: November 25, 2014, 08:30:24 PM
Hello! Please fix this. The miner had some problem and it had to stop for a few seconds. After that, when I reloaded westhash, all the BTC I had resetted and started mining from 0 once more. Sad Earlier westhash, displayed ~0.0006-0.0007BTC. Page : https://westhash.com/?p=miners&a=0&addr=1Nib6hfwHDBFFRYQAnQppABioEwXSgZpgM . Thanks in advance. Smiley

P.S. I don't know whether I can get that amount. If possible please send me or just avoid it but please fix this otherwise I may end up like this. Just save the BTC to be paid per address. When restarting, it will continue. Integration of this with the account would be much better. Roll Eyes

Edit : My mistake. Sorry for the trouble caused. Sad It would be good if the lines and what they are representing are shown near the graph. Smiley

Lolwut? What was it banned for?

I was a troll when I came here. I was trying to increase my rank. I got banned because of spamming. Then I waited for ~2 months, after that I created new account and started reading before posting. Grin Cheesy

6438  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] NiceHash.com - sell & buy hash rate cloud mining service / multipool on: November 25, 2014, 08:00:15 PM
Is there anything wrong with westhash? My hash rate went down about 50% and it is not stable in the last 2-3 days, went off for a while yesterday, a couple of hours. Had nicehash  set as a secondary pool and that failed.. Nothing wrong with the devices as they work well on multipool.us.

[img ]https://i.imgur.com/GnDH8v0.png[/img]

The one I set has no problem. Details please:
  • Hardware
  • Miner - software
  • configuration

Maybe, enabling Extranonce will increase the hash-rate. Smiley
