7261  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin, altcoin, litcoin, dogecoin on: September 08, 2014, 03:19:25 PM
There are a lot of differences between BTC and LTC.
                                   BITCOIN                                      LITECOIN
Coin limit                      21 Million                                      84 Million
Algorithm                      SHA-256                                   Scrypt
Mean block time     10 minutes                                 2.5 minutes
Difficulty retarget     2016 block                                 2016 blocks
Block reward details     Halved every 210,000 blocks.         Halved every 840,000 blocks
Initial reward             50 BTC                                         50 LTC
Current block reward  25 BTC                                         50 LTC

Why is it that lite has bigger limit compared to bitcoin?

It is their choice, how much they want to produce. Satoshi chose 21 million. I think it is enough. Circulating existing coins are much better than making new ones and if I am right, after 21 millions are used, the price will eventually rise.

Thanks! Payment received. The amount is lowering. According to my calculation, it would take approximately 3 years to get what we invested. Roll Eyes I think, we will have to wait for a looong time... Smiley

7263  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Apple approves Bitcoin Wallet app - bitWallet. on: September 08, 2014, 03:06:51 PM
Do you know how to sign a transaction in it? I couldn't find the option.

BTW, do we need these features in the app?
  - Option to choose how many digits should show after decimal point.
  - Opting to fetch the transaction for offline reference.
  - 'Push Notification' even after the app is closed.

7264  Other / Meta / Re: What's the target for reported posts to become moderator? on: September 08, 2014, 01:02:42 PM
As above, unlikely to get banned for one post but depends on the rest of their posts if a mod checks them and finds similar or persistent behaviour. If someone gets banned though it's usually for a good reason so you shouldn't hesitate in reporting offending posts.

But what is the accuracy, basically if it is successful a report has been added to their account?

No, that's the accuracy of your report and effects your score not theirs.

If you don't mind, can you tell me when did you became a mod(reported posts)? I know the accuracy must be atleast above 60%. I don't like to be a mod(I don't think I will be Grin ), it's a hard job. Need sharp eyes... Smiley

7265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ask Amazon for Bitcoin Payments on: September 08, 2014, 12:54:07 PM
It's a great news. If Amazon will start accepting BTC what would be great. I will ask Amazon for BTC payments. I think they will start accepting very soon.

Me too hope that Amazon accepts BTC. Can we make a request on their page on Twitter and Facebook? Mass-request may help. If anybody is making please let us know and also include best payment processors or give links to guide on making a payment processor themselves. Smiley

7266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are there any Bitcoin wallet apps in apple marketplace? on: September 08, 2014, 12:50:03 PM
Lots.
Breadwallet, Pheeva, Blockchain.info, Coinjar, Coinpocket, Bitwallet, Greenaddress, Bitstore, Hive ...
Asking this on the forum seems like making a post asking what time it is when you could just look at your watch.

I couldn't find Breadwallet, Pheeva, Coinjar, and Bitstore. It may not be in my regional store(Indian). In my personal experience bitWallet is the best one if you want non-web wallet. Coinpocket has only one address, it is bad thing. We can export but not import. Greenaddress, Greenaddress and Hive are web wallets, so it isn't good. Sorry, I don't know about other wallets as I didn't use. Feedbacks from others about other wallets would be much helpful. Smiley

New York OR China might become the centre of BTC. Roll Eyes Both are being crowded by BTC users. Grin

Hello I would really like to advertise our site properly but I should gain the privilege to do so.
How many posts or time does it require to have images enabled ?

You will need to reach Hero Member to get full privilege but you can't add an image to your signature. To become Hero Member, you will need 480 activity. Go here for more details. If I am right, it will take ~33 weeks for you to become Hero Member. Good Luck!

The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Activity is updated every hour.

The new membergroup limits work like this:
GroupRequirement
Brand New0 posts
Newbie(none)
Jr. Memberactivity: 30
Memberactivity: 60
Full Memberactivity: 120
Sr. Memberactivity: 240
Hero Memberactivity: 480

I'm not 100% sure that the membergroups work correctly. Tell me if you see any bugs.

7271  Other / New forum software / Re: Adding a "Thank You" button? on: September 08, 2014, 10:29:49 AM
I don't think a like or 'thankyou' button would be so bad. If you were to just say 'thanks' in a post it would likely be deleted, this would stop that occurring whilst also showing your gratitude to the person for the help.

It is nice. If there is a 'Thanks Meter' it would be very bad because they can make a few Alt-accounts and can click the button. Roll Eyes You have already said that in one of your posts:
It could contribute to your rep, but being helpful doesn't necessarily equate to they can be trusted to handle money risk free. If this was the case then people would start abusing it by creating alt accounts and liking their own posts and then using the 'look how many likes I've got - I'm very trusted' line in an attempt to scam.

IMO +1 and 'Thanks' are somewhat similar. Like you said, the button is still helpful:
If you were to just say 'thanks' in a post it would likely be deleted, this would stop that occurring whilst also showing your gratitude to the person for the help.

7272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Block chain size/storage and slow downloads for new users on: September 08, 2014, 10:08:09 AM
I really don't know what to do . I like Bitcoin core .. but that blockchain size downloading takes for ever  Shocked  Shocked so should I go with blockchain.info or take Multibit ? what's the safest ? thanks

Both solutions leave your secret key under your control.  In theory.  I use blockchain.info because last I looked Multibit required a Java install which is not available for my secure platform and which I don't even feel comfortable installing on my non-secure Windows machine.  To much bloat, opacity, and weirdness with that framework for my tastes.  I'm not a frequent Bitcoin user and hope that if blockchain.info's JS infrastructure is compromised, someone would note it in code before I got screwed.  I don't think I've done a transaction since the selling opportunity early in the year, though, and have not kept up on things lately.

Yes. That's right! But is blockchain.info really secure? It is web wallet, so it might get hacked any time. IMO it is better to use Mutlibit HD which is a little better than Multibit. Remember, it is in Beta stage, so if you want a stable one, you can use Multibit. If you can't install Java, you can use Electrum. Smiley

is there a way to make bitcoin blocks minimum?

Now there is no option to make it. If you can't download whole blocks, then use other wallets like Multibit, Electrum or any web wallet(not recommended) such as Blockchain.info, Coinbase, Hive etc...

7273  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I start mining? on: September 08, 2014, 08:12:10 AM
Invest in KNC Cloud. Its a better thing if you are buying Hashes. It's a new mining farm by KnCMiner situated in Arctic. They offer THs with a 0% fee because of the advantages of the place.

If they don't charge a fee, it is because the price already covers all the costs.

Of course, they just ran the numbers and picked a price that they deem reasonable and profitable for them. It doesn't matter how you split that price up, it's just important that it covers their expenses.

I understand! If what I heard is right, their expenses are much lower than other pools. They are in Arctic, one of the coldest region. It will make their miners cool easier than other people's does. I don't know about the price but I think it is lower than others. You are right anyway, they are making profit from it.

Im working on this SoloMining.com

But isn't SoloMining.com like other pools. For solo mining I could only find bitsolo. Is there any differences between solomining.com and other pools. Anything particular to solo mining? I didn't understand, that's why I asked.

7277  Other / New forum software / Re: More options for 'Unread Posts' page? on: September 08, 2014, 07:55:19 AM
Hello! 'Show unread posts since last visit' needs more options. It is very annoying these days. Almost all of the page is filled with ANN of Altcoins. So if there is an option to filter boards, it would be very helpful. I like to see sorting the threads by date or boards or something like that. Please add this option. Need your suggestions/opinions. Smiley

You can ignore boards in your profile, although that does some side effects: "Show new replies to your posts" no longer includes posts in those ignored sections, and "Show the last posts of this person" doesn't as well.

Thanks for telling! Smiley But I just want to ignore boards from showing only in "Show unread posts since last visit." That's why I suggested/asked. So no other options to do that? If you found any, please let me know.

Off Topic : Do you know what does it mean by "delete selected" at the bottom-left of the thread? Huh

100% Genuine https://www.tuexchange.com/ -  anyone who says otherwise write here. !

reason:
+ Low fee
+ Best for your sales fee (first ask what their reserve in usd)
+ EV SSL Certificate

It is your own exchange, right? A person should have the experience in dealing with the site. So I think it will be added when persons say it. Anyway, as the OP warned not to advertise here, beware. Smiley
