661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CryptoBiz Magazine Cover! | Cryptogenic Bullion | CGB on: July 25, 2014, 10:28:31 PM
Nice listing. Checked the site, seems they offer the same buy/sell orders on all different coins. So if you set 10 CGB for sale for BTC you can still buy that order with DOGE or any other listed coin.
Seen any other exchange where they do this instead of seperate markets? Perhaps a smart way to get some extra income.

I really like that it's run by students and they come out this way. In Netherlands probably the largest BTC sales company is run by 3 students as well (Bitonic.nl), they have a very reliable business.

ANX does it with their BTC/FIAT markets, they convert the orderbook to the users local/specified currency derived from their USD exchange rate (AUD, USD, EURO, HKD etc) instead of them being separate markets. Because of AML/KYC it still requires completing their verification process, so good for some, not so much for me. But it is a elegant way to avoid having separate orderbooks or having empty markets while still supporting all the different FIAT currencies in the world.

Cinni Explorer has following error.

Error!
Can't connect to cinnicoind to get live updates from the p2p network. (Tried connecting to cinnicoind at 127.0.0.1:31813 and failed.)

I am having a hard time telling what your problem actually is. The fact that you said you had 65000 blocks left to sync after using the bootstrap.dat file means you did not use it correctly. You would be nearly up to sync using it. As far as your balance goes, have you a lot of experience using POS wallets? Just asking because a lot of people get confused about what it does to the balances while staking. If the blockchain says your balance is 13507.823669 CINNI than that is your balance.

Block explorer is working fine for me: http://cinnichain.info/address/Jav1xpgfFtqrjLE99Lj5C75eHtLkVAMkRf

Your problem with spending is you are not up to sync.

Thanks for your reply Andy,

Alright I see the block explorer is connecting again...
Regarding the 65000 blocks left this was for the full resync as using the bootstrap twice before did not solve my issue. The full resync also had the same result.
I have not replaced the wallet.dat file and the balance now get reset to 10713, however if you look on the explorer its showing 13507.988025 (which is not right), I tried sending
the 10k to mintpal again and still saying that the coins have been spent and transaction failed. It then deducts the 10k from my balance and have to restore the wallet file to get it back.

The balance it's showing now seems correct after restoring the wallet but the problem of using the balance in there still exists.

Below is the full error message:

"Error: The transaction was rejected. This might happen if some of the coins in your wallet were already spent, such as if you used a copy of wallet.dat and coins were spent in the copy
but not marked as spent here."

Regarding the above error once I had purchased CINNI I sent 2 amounts from Mintpal to my wallet but never ever sent CINNI out.

if you don't have a backup before your first stake you can kiss the CINNI goodbye. The goodnews is you only losing 0.15 btc at current prices but it might be safer for the rest of the community to leave there CINNI  on exchanges or make sure to do constant backups and have multiple backups from different dates.

I am doing my last attempt now to try resolve the issue using cinblo latest bootstrap file with earliest version of wallet.dat.

I don't fancy my chances here and I think you are right. Will write it off and move on, goodluck to the rest of you and hope your fortunes with CINNI end up being a lot better then mine.

use -rescan after you have synced the blockchain completely.  your coins will still be there if you have never spent a partial input from that address.  If you have spent partially from an input of one of your addresses then like any other crypto, you will have a change address that the unspent amount will have sent to.  as long you are using the original wallet.dat that you can retreive the privatekey for those change addresses if needed.   if you wallet.dat is not corrupt (its loads without an error or funny characters), -rescan will scan the blockchain correct your wallet.dat to what the blockchain shows for the address.

About recent CINNI/UTC issues:

We think we have finally found the bug that leads to a CPU consumption of 100% and prevents (or let's say extremely slows down) UTC and CINNI transfers to/from CT: it's a phenomenom called PoS dust, mentioned by David Latapie in his "How PoS works" article, which can be found here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=606342

Quote
Third: Compounded interest
Leaving a wallet open 24/7 costs more electricity (and CPU power, more on this later) but also make you benefit more from compounded interest (interests adding to capital so that next time capital to base interest upon will be bigger - in a bank, you compound your interest once an year, in crypto, at the end of each period, so every twenty days for Mintcoin). If you received all of your coins in just one big transaction, you could just stick to open wallet at every stake period and this is it. You receive your coins, and they count for the next stake. But if you received them in several parts (99% of users) there are end-of-period occuring a lot and so opportunity for compounding interests occuring a lot (in other words, "it's every day twenty days"). By just opening you wallet every 20 days, you are actually losing compounded interest. Notice that with compounded interest, you should achieve more than 20% interest on Mintcoin (at the cost of electricity, though and less CPU-mining power, though). It is not worth it if you don't have a lot of coin (except if you don't pay for your electricity).
Beware though: the multiplication of the end-of-period generates "dust", something similar to fragmentation on a disk. This won't increase the size of your wallet, but it will require more CPU power. You may end up with 100% CPU usage. Raspberry or VPS are ways to mitigate this. Another way is to resort to "spring cleaning": every once in a while, you move all your coin to another wallet; you sacrifice every coin age to get back to a normal level of CPU usage. Heartbreaking.

The Problem we have is about this part: "[...]every once in a while, you move all your coin to another wallet[...]" which is actually very frustrating for an exchange, cause there are hundrets/thousands of wallets to move.

--> Cdev is now going to start this procedure, so this will hopefully and finally fix this §"$#!

We're really sorry about this delay.

Some PoS coins like BC provide a switch/option to disable PoS , and almost all PoS coins allow the use of reservebalance to prevent staking from occurring, so the reserve can be set higher then wallet balance and no staking will occur.

Blackcoin is one of the only PoS coins where fragmentation is not an issue as it seems to be for the clones of it and PoS coins that came out before it and not updated or set limits for the split after staking.  BC only splits the first stake once whereas the other continue to split with each stake indefinitely.  With my own wallets that do this i sweep in a lump amount every so often to prevent it getting too fragmented, BC is the only coin I never need to do this with, and other coins that have higher min age like 1 month (PoW/PoS) which would be a year at least before the inputs needed to be lumped together again by sweeping to another address.

I'm all for development and new features, but not just for the sake of raising the price or because its the trendy feature or some other coin did it and got pumped so it must be good mentality.  Cheesy

come on digit...do u believe what u say

anyone can improve the code??? in theory yes...what about the reality

with fully anon feature, i am sure great amount of money will park at cinni and they will use cinni for sell and buy goods

first of all, loser cinni dev told that we have a plan and anon transfer was part of a plan...now he is not following the path he drew

and u re defending him...are u one of his puppets....take ur hand out of people s pocket

I'm not a puppet lol Roll Eyes But i have no reason to hate on him or blame for something that is out of his control. I can't blame the dev for the price or how other people trade.  I can't blame the dev because someone else dumped their coins at a lost.  I only hold the dev responsible for making sure the coin works as intended. and the coin works, i can send Cinni to anyone anywhere in the world and they will get it. I can keep cinni in my wallet, and get interest from PoS mining.  Most important thing for a crypto is that is works and can be safely used for transactions, not what mintpal says it price is. I login onto mintpal maybe once a week at most, its crap exchange and always has been.  its so bad they have to fake volume and have pump and dumps just to trick people into moving their coins there.

I'm still holding and staking my Cinni in wallet with very little kept on exchanges, so very little hands in people pockets here buddy. Hopefully the price will go up and even then I would still be holding some, not rushing to dump every last coin. Learn to hold your coins or be a better trader, dont blame others for the choices you made or things that not in their control.

But if you want a takeover,  the code is all out there, other coins have done this when a dev left, but its unlikely to make much difference to price if thats what you want to happen.  and not much reason unless their is something to fix and then you can make another post to pump the price about it just like the previous pump scammers that were here. I saw that most of the posts to buy or sell came from battbott/wizzfarm/<some random newbie account> who behave that like in all the coins they try to manipulate.
Your supposed to ignore those people, not listen to them, just the annoying amount of reposts should have a warning flag that it was bad time to buy when they posted. Some of them are coming back trying again to manipulate mintpal price with posts here.  And if you follow their posts here, you will lose money.  Those posts would have had a less pronounced effect if SheepPal wasnt receiving peoples Cinni, everytime they posted.
I've never supported those pumps or posts, and you will not find me having made posts like that trying to get people to buy or sell with announcements or speculations for pumps.  People should be able to decide and speculate for themselves, not be a sheep about it.  Do some research, make some comparisons with other altcoins, 99% of altcoins are scams until they are not.

Also I  mentioned way back its a bad idea and dangerous to use Mintpal exclusively,  its better situation for Cinni and more useful for traders if its distributed on more exchanges then to allow Mintpal to own too much of it,  and Mintpal was hacked AGAIN, and now this week they are now removing coins for no reason except low volume, this will cause panic on ALL coins that are traded there and heavily centralized on that site. There nothing to prevent them being hacked again next time it could be their BTC or LTC or CINNI wallets and they are unlikely to be able to conveniently rollback the blockchain on the same day then pretend nothing happened when its not a coin they developed or have the dev in their pocket.

The best thing for Cinni is if it can break free of that Mintpal prison,  This is what will help make it worth more and a stable price then any features or announcements posted here. These low prices could have been avoided if more people held on other exchanges/wallets and less people used Mintpal exclusively for their trading. They are one of the worst exchanges alongside Cryptsy for anyone to be using.

Other exchanges with Cinni i can think of right now include, Crypto-trade, Atomic, Lazycoins, Bleutrade, usecrypto, poloniex, bittrex. Cinni still has a lot exchange support but not enough users choosing to be smart and make use of them.  To keep supporting an unsafe and manipulated exchange like mintpal, nothing good for Cinni can come from that.

Hi,

i know u from whitecoin's dark days (days with broken ,nor staking wallet), and what i know u did a great job with the wallet.

i wonder if cinni dev  contacted u and what is the result why u couldnt agree with him

thx in advance...this info i will share with cinnicoin investors or u can just answer at cinnicoin page at bitcointalk

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=573232.12580

thx in advance

Hi skip60 and sorry for my late reply but my inbox is like a war-zone Smiley

Noone contacted me about Cinni, besides an investor, like yourself, who tried to get me in contact with the team.
I was informed that they have all the conversations we had between us and that they should contact me.
That communication never took place though, so I didn't accept or reject any proposal, as there was none made to me Smiley

Hope I answered your question

hey guys, above u can find the details of talk I had with mindfox...u can confirm it with mindfox

it is seen that cinni dev didnt contact mindfox as a new coder

i beleive that we need a coder to finish the anon transfer

it is obvious cinni dev is not doing anything, and just telling us stories

it is better he handsover the coin to the community

Why do you need anon transfer?
Is there some corrupt politician you are secretly trying to bribe?
Cinni is already anonymous enough like all crypto, this extreme feature of mixing that is trendy right now is completely unnecessary for 99% of users, and only exists to inflate the price for pump and dumps.

Github is there, and anyone can update or contribute to Cinni.  nothing stopping you, you dont need permission to make something happen for cinni or make useful updates or fixes.  Wink

Cinni is now available to be traded on LazyCoins

https://lazycoins.com/trade#cinni-btc

WARNING: lazycoins are either on a forked chain or something is broken on their end.  Cinni sent there, not arrived but have confirmed on blockchain and with mintpal.

I've opened a ticket and waiting to see if they fix this or not.

Update: Got a reply and turns out they have problems some with the CINNI wallet and finding peers, it being fixed and they waiting on their blockchain to sync up.

+1 lazycoins for having a good support response so far Smiley
668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CryptoBiz Magazine Cover! | Cryptogenic Bullion | CGB on: July 22, 2014, 10:06:58 PM
I emailed about CGB to added to Crypto-Trade, they have just finished a complete upgrade/makeover after 1 year of operation and the new CryptoTrade v2 is looking fantastic.

Got a reply and they said CGB will be added to their new voting page. Only 2 coins so far to vote on and I think they are just there so it wasnt empty Cheesy.

One HUGE benefit with CT is that verification is neither asked for or required for users to trade FIAT, so if enough support could be found a potential CGB/USD could be added in addition to a CGB/BTC (they already offer BC/USD, LTC/USD, CINNI/USD to name a few).

They also have a commission free voucher system that allows creation of a voucher code instead of withdrawing to address.  eg: i can "withdraw" to generated code 2 CGB, give that code to someone, later on they can redeem the full value of the code I made for them to their CT account instantly.

Some other features of CryptoTrade are its messaging system, Securities/Investment platform, and an API.  Smiley

Winning altcoin gets added next week I believe, so CGB has a great chance right now to be added on established exchange with some great features and benefits not found elsewhere.

It's too bad CINNI is only listed on one exchange, and it's the shittiest.

CINNI/USD & CINNI/BTC on Crypto-Trade  Wink

CINNI/BTC on Atomic

Both good exchanges and never been hacked or lost their users coins and Atomic has much better security design that protects its users to a higher standard then MintPal.

Mintpal has proven it can not be trusted to secure wallets or behave responsibly.  The recent hack where they lost all their VRC, rollbacks of blockchain, removal of altcoins that people voted or even paid voted for. They are bad news for crypto and altcoins listed there.  Stop keeping coins there, they are not safe.

CINNI / USD  Smiley super

And ANYONE can trade USD there. 4 different payment processors supported. No verification needed as they are not US based.  "Be Free" Cheesy

finally got it to work, but the text is still missing that tells me which box is which..

do u have a screenshot, site is working fine for me and no missing text here. Using Chrome.

password, can I use special characters? of just caps and lower case and numbers

are there limitations on how many coins, of any type I can deposit and/or trade at any one time?

thanks

You can use special characters and its probably a good idea Smiley
There is also google 2fa that can be enabled afterwards for some added security for your account.

No limits on quantity you can deposit or withdraw, and Atomic does not charge extra for withdrawals, only the network/miners fee is deducted from the amount withdrawn.
There is min value that a created order has to equal (eg 0.0001 BTC), and a limit on the number of orders that can be created/kept open for each pairing. Its not necessary to purchase expert but it unlocks other features and allows a much high number of orders in each pairing (much more then the average person would make use of)

Quiet a few people on Reddit are having problems with the client not downloading the blockchain from scratch, I am having the same problem.

Was there a change in the source code or something to make it so they these newer client will not download a fresh chain or a fork maybe?
all wallets work if you give them time, they are just slow to start. please give them hours, it will work properly

Do you know why it takes a few hours for the client to get a connection? This is a long time to have to wait for a connection, do you have any seed nodes at all?

Most new users would give up after an hour of waiting and still no connection.

46.4.94.47:22816
72.193.215.58:22816
193.219.117.63:22816

these nodes have worked well and other peers can be discovered through them.  Note the first ~2000 blocks will take along time because of the phenomenal amount of transactions that occurred as result of the distribution of this coin to the millions of users/addresses from virtapay.  Its probably an altcoin record for a coin to have so transactions within only the first few days, afaik no coin has ever had over a million transactions occurred in its first few days.  It will be slow as and the log file will be huge as result when it finally all synced up.  Can delete the logfile afterwards.

If no one else does it, I can upload the blockchain somewhere in a few for new users to download, and let them save some time on the sync.

678  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Atomic Trade New Virtual Currency Exchange USD BTC on: July 11, 2014, 12:29:51 AM
I transferred some darkcoin into atomic-trade about 2 hours ago.  No pending deposit, no balance.  I tried to open a chat with support, no one available.  I opened a ticket, they didn't give me a ticket number for reference and they haven't responded as of yet.  I would suggest that anyone planning on doing business at this site, take my experience to heart.  I'll update this thread if things work out, but I'm starting to be concerned.

It's been about 8 hours since my deposit was recorded in the blockchain.  I have not received a reply to my ticket nor has my account wallet been updated to reflect a change in the balance.  Luckily (I suppose) the transaction indicates that the funds have not been redeemed.  Presumably, they are still awaiting some resuscitation on the site back end.  I am still holding out hope.  I just thought other potential customers of this site should be aware of the turn-around time for having tickets resolved through this exchange.

Try catching Byron in chat or on the twitter.  For a one man team, the support is excellent.
I've never heard of anyone having a issue go unresolved or unresponded to for very long.  From my own experience I've had issues fixed within 24 hours which is faster then any other exchange I've used (and some of those actually employed support teams!).
Its one of the reasons I choosing Atomic as my preferred exchange as I've found it to reliable and trustworthy.  I have no concerns about using it or keeping my coins there and have been a member for months now without problems.
